Today 12/04/2025 was the most disappointing experience I have ever had at a First Watch restaurant.At 2:00pm my son and I decided to stop in and grab a bite to eat really quickly.To start, when we walked in, a gentleman, who I now know was the manager, looks at us and screams back to the tall blonde female waitress"here's two more" the tone seemed very uninviting. The waitress proceeded to seat us.Shortly after another party of two walks in and he yells again "here goes two more" very uninviting tone again.While we are waiting for our waiter the same blonde lady that seated us goes to two guys sitting at the table eating and she says here's your check and he said oh I know we have to pay at the register. She said actually you can go ahead and scan this QR code and pay there.The customers clearly looked at her in frustration and one of the guys said to the other"Ok I get it you all are closing".Our waitress finally came over and asked what drinks we wanted an we told her she immediately said "so do you know what you are going to order"in a very rushed manor.I asked could we have a moment to review the menu while she gets the drinks and she said yes.She comes back carrying the tray with drinks then took one hand off the tray to sit the water on the table and she dropped the tray and spilled orange juice all over my son and I. She says oh I'm sorry about that. she then says let me go and get you one of the rags that we clean the tables with that have cleaner on them so you can clean yourselves up. She starts rolling off paper towels, dropping them on the table and the floor.She then rolls some up and places them on the bench next to me for me to clean my purse off. Then the manager and the blonde tall waitress says let me move you guys over here while my son and I still have orange juice and water dripping from our clothes, hands and shoes.I went to the ladies room to try to use hand soap to clean my clothes but not surprising there was no soap in the dispenser so I had to just use water from the tap.When I came back from the bathroom my son was holding my purse trying to clean it off because juice was covering the outside and had gotten on the inside.There was a waitress with purple hair short kind of stout that says to me"you should go to walmart and buy leather cleaner and clean the stains off; they will come out."This obviously irritated me further, and I said "I'm not going to buy leather cleaner at all because if these stains don't come out you all will be giving me $4,000 dollars". My husband just bought me that purse last month for my birthday.She then says "well I'm a DIY type of girl and have no problem cleaning things myself" I said to my son damn I have a meeting now I need to go home and change this is ridiculous" The purple haired girl says it's not like she did it on purpose accidents happen and I know her and she just wouldn't do that.I said first of all you guys have been rushing since we came in here and she goes no we didn't.I asked her did she see us when we walked in and she said no. I then said"then why are you even concerning yourself with this situation. I told my son "let's go I'm never coming back here again" the purple haired girl said"great" enjoy the rest of your day" and laughed at us..We exited the restaurant and that comment did not set right with me so I went back in and asked the tall blonde for the corporate number.She said ok let me get my manager.I stood there for a while as I watched him go in and out of the kitchen.He finally comes to the register and said"why do you need corporate number?"I said because I want to report my experience I've had here today.He said accidents happen what is there to report being very dismissive. I said let me have the corporate number or your district manager number. He said you can google first watch for customer service and I am not giving you my manager's number. Another person in the restaurant approached me and said ma'am I saw what happened and I am so sorry. Is there anything that I can do to help you?I said no ma'am I will find the information that I need. The manager looks at her and says "so do you need the website too and rattles it off again.The other patron says sir i've worked in the restaurant industry before and if a customer ask for a corporate number you give it to them.She also told him that if he doesn't give me the number she will not leave a tip and he laughed shrugged his shoulder and said"so" as if he really didn't care. By this time I told the lady "don't worry I'm going to be fine" and he looked past the both of us and said to the customers walking in "so how many are in your party?" There were about 8 of them and it was about 2:22 by that time and he was so pleasant to them. I noticed that when it came to myself and my son as well as the other patron who was black, he or his employees had no problem with being disrespectful and dismissive. ALL THE WAY FROM CALI....Second state I've tried this place and it has not failed me yet... the service is always good, the food is always tasty, and the environment is always pleasant. The best part is that our large group of 8 was able to come and sit right down. Going out for breakfast after a red eye flight can sometimes put us sleep deprived travelers on edge and sometimes even makes us a little hangry... It offers some more healthy options than your typical greasy-spoon type diner, Though be warned that it is a bit more expensive than what you would pay in that greasy spoon types diner. I dined in on a Saturday very early and had a great breakfast that was socially distanced. I ordered a new drink that was called Purple Haze. This particular juice is supposed to have a touch of lavender but someone went real heavy with that flavor. I would try it again hoping for just a touch as the description mentions. The other item I had was the crab avocado toast. This is a generous portion of avocado, crab and two eggs your way. This was a hearty breakfast served on multi-grain bread with slightly pickled red onions on top. So delicious I wanted to finish this but it was a lot of food. I love trying new menu items and the service was top notch. I also got a salad to go to enjoy later. I finally got to try it at the specific location and it was almost as great as I'd built it up to be. The service was great, the ambiance was fun, and the food was tasty! So, then, why not 5 stars? Put simply: because they really skimp on the bacon! My husband received two measly pieces. This definitely stood out against other similar breakfast/brunch spots we've been to where they serve more than two pieces and/or the pieces are more substantial. I am so glad to see that the new Winter Park location has alleviated a lot of that stress on this business. We were seated immediately when walking in at 9am on a Saturday morning. The restaurant is fresh, bright, and pretty cosy still. I love that they leave the coffee carafe at the table. I love the seasonal menu items. I just can't say enough good about First Watch. It is somewhat pricey and the portions are smaller than a diner by a lot, but just because it's a fast breakfast joint, doesn't mean it's a diner. I refuse to believe you can compare First Watch to a diner. The servers at this location are always spot on, super friendly, efficient, and know when to leave you alone.
