I had a potato skillet with bacon, onions, spinach, cheese and poached eggs. Perfectly prepared and great balance of ingredients. The multigrain toast and preserves - such a simple thing, but so fresh. He had poached eggs (again perfect) bacon and cinnamon chip pancake. Nothing but crumbs left. Service was friendly, helpful and fast. Rachel is a sunbeam. We can't wait to go back again. If I'm gushing, I'd say it's well deserved. People are happy to nitpick when they want to complain. Good variety of food on menu and even something for our little 1 year old who loves eggs and a bit of pancake. Our server was very friendly and helpful. As a Bonus, they offer flavored creamer for coffee! Our items came hot and fresh. I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was good, not great. My biggest complaint was the price, it's high for breakfast $$$. I appreciate the higher cost when offering seemingly fresher ingredients but $40 for 2 and a baby is a bit much for the first meal of the day. I ate here on Sunday afternoon and had the best Baja turkey burger ever!!! I've been going carb-free so I ate it without the bun and still found it to be soooo delicious that I requested to speak to the manager to share the compliment with him as well as the incredible chef. I found out the chefs name is Betty. Shoutout to Betty and First Watch in Palm Harbor for cooking the Baja turkey burger better than any of the other locations I have eaten the same meal at. First Watch use to be one of my #1 choices to eat , but the food has really gone downhill. Ordered lemon ricotta pancake trifecta . It arrived with Fermented old strawberries on top, brown/black mint shriveled up garnish that I picked most of it off before the pic, and scrambled eggs that were not cooked all the way through. Raw! If you look at the pic , you can see the slime. Ew! Didn't eat the eggs, told the server, and just had it replaced with fruit bowl which had rotten grapes in it. The only thing good was the coffee and service. Guess how much I paid ? $13.89! With tip add another few bucks to that. Almost $20 for for 1 pancake, 2 pieces of old bacon, raw scrambled eggs , and coffee?!?!?! Really? Why?! Because that meal was so special? Hell no. I'm done with First Watch. They're Not as good as they use to be like back in the day, before they started switching the menu up with new items. The service was perfect, the coffee just right and there were so many breakfast options it was hard to choose! We went with the side of sweet bacon, I had the coconut milk chia bowl with fruit and granola & he had the avocado toast. Both were fresh and large portions. First Watch is OK. In my opinion, I could take it or leave it. The food is healthy, portions are a good sized, and the price is OK. I don't really feel it has much of an atmosphere, but it is located in a shopping plaza, so maybe that has something to do with it. One thing that does stand out for me is the staff. Every time I have been to this location and a location in Orlando, the staff has been friendly and gracious. Additionally, it seems like a very clean establishment. Additionally, I am Gluten Free and they have no substitutes for bread or pancakes (well since the last time I was there). Just a note for those who don't eat Gluten. I want to like it because I have never had a bad experience, but nothing about it really stands out to me. In my opinion, First Watch is good for a quick breakfast, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. read more

So why only four stars instead of five? Perhaps it's unfair of me, but I have trouble not comparing all breakfast places to the Frog Pond, the absolute gold standard for breakfast in Pinellas county. First Watch was good, but it didn't "wow" me like the Frog Pond always does. My wife had a crab and asparagus omelette which she described as "good." I had the biscuits and turkey sausage gravy, which I would also describe as "good". We both enjoyed our meals, but neither of us was ecstatic. Second, it is a little overpriced. $6 for a kids meal at breakfast is overboard...of course, I do have to add that my kids really enjoyed it, and ate more than they normally did, but still... So, a solid breakfast place that's close to our house! Will we be back? Absolutely! Is it our favorite? No, but we have really high standards for breakfast food :) read more
