It has been quite a way since I was able to give an establishment a 5/5. I will say over all the food was a 3 to 4 however what made this experience a 5 was the waitress. She was excellent. Attentive but not an overly bugaboo. The wait time to get a table , place an order and the arrival of the food on Saturday late morning was about as the best it can get. Salmon eggs benedict: 4/5. Hot fresh and oh so good , especially when the yolk from the egg was unleashed and mixed in the freshness of the fish. Skillet Potatoes 4/5: The portion on the plate I received was just warm. I informed the waitress and she brought out even more potatoes but this time they were hot. They were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Plain pancake: 3/5: Pancake was as big as the plate. It was ok; probably not an item I would not try again. I'm just funny about my pancakes . It wasn't as fluffy and perfectly bouncy as I require it to be in order to get a 4 or higher on 5 point scale. The atmosphere was lively, bright, and bustling and I can't wait to go back. read more

No shade but a few weeks ago when in town, my goal was to go to Whitebox Eatery. I had no clue that they had closed the previous year. Scrambling trying to find a place to go and having errands to run I recalled this First Watch had opened up in the newly redesigned North West Plaza. I was surprised when I pulled up. There was a line out of the door, and every seat was taken. It didn't take more than five minutes to be seated. Two tables sitting around me had their orders taken, and I sat and sat. I had to wave my server down. He apologized about not getting to me. In my mind, I thought that better be the only hiccup because that was a significant ball drop undoubtedly on Super Bowl Sunday and for the first-time service. I ordered the "Trifecta" but changed a few things around. I went with the granola and banana crunch pancakes. I exchanged the seasoned potatoes instead of the eggs and went with the chicken sausage. I also went with the new Blue Booster drink with no ice. I was surprised at the size of the glass (slightly sample size, not thirst-quenching at all) but it's fresh juice. The server brought out the syrup, and it came out warm - Amen! The food arrived shortly after ordering and was delivered by a sweet smiling woman. My first thought...this pancake is huge !!! The bananas and granola we're actually in the pancake batter not just on top and I really appreciated that. Good seasoning on the potatoes as well as the chicken sausage. On the whole, it was a good experience, and in a pinch, I would undoubtedly return again. read more

Leaving a day early from St. Louis MO, had to get breakfast before heading out. This spot was close to my hotel and I was very hungry so wanted to check it out. Read some of the reviews before heading this way and happy with my choice. I was seated quickly, and got my food pretty quickly. The decor in this building was super cute as well. Only con is when I asked a waitress if she could grab my fruit that my waitress forgot she looked at me very annoyed. I was very polite, so I was taken aback by her attitude. Father's Day brunch. Very busy (45 min wait, online check in) The staff were very polite and upbeat. Hostess at front desk was super friendly and was doing a great job dealing with a few customers who didn't understand why they had to wait so long to be seated. Only complaint was I received the wrong pancake (I know first work problem right?) ordered a blueberry and received chocolate. Chocolate ended up being very good tho. read more

This is a interesting place, modern menu and overall not bad foods. I personally did not care for the egg white omelette mostly because it had large uncut pieces of mushrooms. Largely bland with nothing that binds everything together. The Kale Tonic is very refreshing with cucumber, kale, apples and lemon. Definitely a winner. The summer blush isn't a bad drink but with the combo of fruits only makes it very sweet. The pancakes are as large as the plate. This place is worth the stop. Service is decent. This particular First Watch had highlights and disappointments. We've been to the Clayton, Kirkwood and Fenton locations and was always greeted with complimentary fruit water and coffee. But St. Ann says they only put out coffee when the wait is 15 minutes or greater . I have my opinions around this policy that our waitress told is was manager driven for this location, again Now, our service was great and so was the food and coffee once seated. We had the breakfast tacos, market hash, Belgian waffle and tried 1 of the banana crunch pancakes. All delisous and fresh. Remove 2 stars for not having signature complimentary coffee for guests waiting 10 minutes. read more

They continually serve overdone brittle bacon. even went sent back, it comes back after I've finished with breakfast even more brittle, clearly overcooked. The waitstaff is nice, but do not quality check what they're serving. Very disappointing . The onions in their potatoes are cooked right nail they're actually black solid charcoal. We ordered the avocado toast with easy poached eggs and a side of potatoes. The service was prompt and our food came out looking just like the yelp photos that directed us to this decision in the first place. We also ordered kale juice and decaf coffee.
