The 290 location was slightly disappointing but Tomball definitely has a genuinely friendlier, calmer vibe. Lots of smiles. We come here for breakfast 2 or 3 times a month. The food is pretty good. The waitstaff is always attentive. Giovanna was our waitress today and she's great! Our only complaint is the music! Too loud and lively for breakfast. The music was more appropriate for lunch time, a bar or outdoor eating. Research suggests that for breakfast the background music should be acoustic, soft pop, or folk and soft enough to be conducive to conversations. We hope there will be a more appropriate choice of music and sound level next time! read more

We came in for breakfast for one in our party before he headed to the airport. The large restaurant has lots of indoor seating, and we were seated immediately. It is basically a large modern diner. The staff is very friendly. The food is pretty disappointing. The GF toast arrived crisp but cold. The chorizo omelet was tasty but the accompanying greens had not a drop of dressing (despite the lemon vinaigrette promised in the menu). Quality means serving dressed greens as promised and warm toast. Needless to say, we did not return for the duration of our visit despite its proximity. A clean restaurant with friendly servers does not come over such basic food defects. read more

Amazing service and food! I liked it so much that we came back the next day. The atmosphere was lively. I had the farmhouse hash with pomegranate sunrise the first day while she had a The Works omelet with the spiked lavender lemonade. The potatoes with both meals were seasoned well and cooked to perfection. On day 2, I had the hawaiian French toast with spiked lemonade, and she had the bacado omelets and sangria. The sangria was not as good as the other drinks, but it was still enjoyed. Should we be in the area again, we will most likely drop in again. I highly recommend First Watch!!! read more

First time trying this place. It was busy so I had high hopes. The tables were very sticky. The food was all cold. We had eggs Benedict (by far the worst I had ever had). Very dry and old looking salmon. Wife had the grits and turkey sausage. Grits are like instant and watered down and sausage tasted like it was two weeks too old. Daughter had pancakes that were old and so cold they couldn't melt soft butter. Overall worst breakfast experience of my life. Waiter was very attentive and a great person, but the food could poison you. None of us finished our $65 breakfast. Hit up first watch Tomball this morning for a tasty breakfast after dropping the dog off at the vet for surgery. We needed some comfort food and first watch did not disappoint. I tried to keep it on the semi healthy side with avocado toast and poached eggs with a bow of tomato basil soup. The avocado toast came out on thick multigrain bread with a generous amount of chunky, fresh avocado; I gave it a sprinkle of S&P and some cholula hot sauce (if you aren't putting hot sauce on your avocado toast you are missing out) and ultimately had to break those perfectly poached runny eggs over top. So good! The tomato basil soup was also tasty although not mind blowing and gave me some wicked heartburn later lol (my fault, not theirs!). My son had the pick 2 combo and he chose the roast beef and havarti sandwich with tomato basil soup. I want to say the sandwich was on toasted Asiago sourdough with a generous amount of roast beef, havarti cheese and a super tasty horseradish sauce (could have been an aioli but I didn't read the menu); I could have easily eaten a whole one of those. Not minding the long wait but getting wrong orders and then God forbid you ask formal your order to be fixed the server will give you so much attitude with no apology. You'd have to decide if you want to wait another hour to get your food or just leave. Shawn has no business working in a place that required great customer service skill because he clearly has attitude problem even when he has no reason to be worked up. read more

The lack of a star is due to the somewhat slow service at times. But then I took a sip of the milk they gave me and it was disgusting. Like, totally spoiled. It tasted sour and nasty. I told the server, but they didn't seem to care much. They just took it away and didn't even say sorry or offer a new drink or anything. It was super gross and honestly kind of ruined the whole meal. Even though the food was good, drinking spoiled milk is a big deal. It made me feel sick and was by far the worst food poisoning I got from a restaurant , and now I don't trust that they check their stuff before serving it. Me and my girlfriend came early this morning. We got sat down, and were waiting for 10 minutes with no service. Nobody came to greet us at all so we left. When I got to my truck about 45 seconds after leaving the table, I looked back at our table and noticed that it was already being cleaned! It's like they've been trained under the same manager. Food is important, but for an enjoyment of the experience, this is another major factor. I was very impressed with the friendliness and attentiveness of our waitress. This is an A-La-Carte restaurant, you wait to be seated, order at the table, however, you pay up front at the end of the meal. One thing that is notable, is that they utilize the Yelp app for their waiting list. I mean they take down your name and all at the hostess booth, but you can use the app to track when you are next. This Technology allows you to wait in the car if you wanted. I believe this is the only restaurant in Houston that I've experienced this feature with the app. How cool is that?! 2. Price - $7 - $15 for breakfast. Not too bad. Pretty reasonable. 3. Ambiance - This place gives you a cozy farmhouse feel. Best to go with friends and family. Dress code is casual. 4. Food - This is a great place for breakfast or even brunch. I have a few favorites at this place. But during this visit, I had the HACIENDA HASH. First time had it, it was so good. I give this place 3 stars because, as a vegan trying to enjoy brunch with my family I am thrilled when there's more than just an avocado toast.. they have a vegan burger that sounded great but after 30 min and the waiter coming with everyone's food I was told my burger was frozen and had not been taken out of the freezer leaving me to wait another 30 minutes , of course we had places to be so I requested a change from the burger to the toast, which came out within minutes. Also loved the quick service, friendly, spot-on, professional waiter, the coffee carafe left on the table, and the glass jar of water. Hence the cups and glasses didn't go dry. My first question is centered around America's favorite breakfast food, BACON. You can get it two ways: Regular hickory smoked or the Million Dollar Bacon version. Both are thicker than your normal version....but a big hurray for the Million Dollar version. We had the Chickichanga which was great. My "picky-eater" husband loved it. The service was excellent and avocado toast was very good. But what made this visit so great was the staff. I ordered my food, they brought my drink and it was at that moment I realize had left my wallet at home. So I told the waitress and manager what had happened and told her I needed to go to a bank and get cash. The Mgr told me to eat and then go get the cash. He didn't know me from Adam, but wanted me relax and have breakfast. So I did. Went got some cash and paid the bill. The mgr was great. He and the waitress made it great.
