This was a great first time! I dined here a few months ago with a few ladies. I love the ambiance! My first impression was fresh... it just feels so fresh and so clean clean inside. It was about 13 of us... we were seated quickly. We called ahead of time, therefore, the staff was expecting us and greeted us with friendly faces. Only one waitress took care of us and she was on point from start to finish. I ordered a refreshing beverage, Summer Blush. I believe it was seasonal. It was tasty, but I would try something else next time. My meal, Monterrey Club with fresh fruit... yummy to my tummy! I ate all my food and felt fine afterwards :) There is plenty of parking nearby. I've been Yelp-stalking this place for a while and after trying them today, I've gotta say - I'm a fan!! I came here on a Sunday around 1 o'clock for brunch, and we were only quoted a 20 minute wait! We also were able to score a window booth seat (every Yelp food-tographer's dream!!) The staff was kind and offered us a sling for Avery's car seat! I ordered off their seasonal menu - the Braised Short Rib Benedict! I was a little disappointed that this eggs benefit is served on a long piece of ciabatta bread instead of the classic English muffin but I didn't mind to be honest! The braised short rib was tender, juicy and really good with the poached eggs! I didn't really care for the side of potatoes it comes with, but I like my potatoes more fried and "cubes hash brown" style instead of boiled? Not sure how they were prepared. My boyfriend got french toast and was able to "make it a meal" by ordering the 'Tri-fecta' which adds a meat and two eggs any style! We also tried the Million Dollar Bacon and it's great for people who like sweet and salty combinations! Overall for the price, it's pretty good for fresh and delicious food! Disappointing. The wait was long. I think waiting outside was a mistake because they were definitely seating parties that had just arrived. Our server was polite and accurate. Coffee was hot and strong. The drinks were refreshing and unique. Unfortunately, my Eggs Benedict BLT came out hard boiled. My cheese grits were cold and stiff. The avocado toast comes on a great bread but they don't toast it. And there's no seasoning or any pizazz. We ordered appetizers, and they forgot to clear our empty plates when they brought entrees. We staked up all the plates, and they still didn't remove them. Oh and let me mention when I asked to use the restroom, they directed me to the coffee establishment across the parking lot. I will absolutely say with all confidence I was so completely disgusted and disappointed with my experience. I will say it's my fault for staying anyways after the first red flag. I had heard (and saw on Yelp) some good reviews for this place and decided to give it a chance. We walk in and the ambiance was very nice. Very comfortable inside with lovely booths with good space. I ordered a drink, and my boyfriend got a coffee. Here's where I got disgusted. My boyfriend had drank out of his coffee a couple times before realizing there was PURPLE lipstick stains all over the coffee jug he had been drinking from. When I saw it I was horrified. The waiter was very kind and got us a new one and comped the coffee on the bill. I was still a bit horrified, but being stupid I stayed. Wasn't a good idea. The food was so mediocre, and absolutely not worth it. I got French toast, eggs, and 2 sausage links. He got an omelette with potatoes and a slice of bread cut in half. Our bill was around 50 dollars including tip. We gave a tip because the waiter was kind, and it isn't necessarily his fault for lack of hygiene and mediocre food. I can safely say I tried a place people on here raved about, and I was absolutely lied to. I am so disappointed in their hygiene and lack of flavor in the food. Dirty cups, food not great, and they charge a lot. I am so utterly disappointed that the word doesn't even begin to describe it. Again, my waiter was the best part as he was kind and he looked horrified when he saw the cup also, but I'm just disgusted at how terrible this was when I really was excited to try. First Watch please take hygiene seriously. When you're working with food that should be your first worry. If something as simple as my cup is absolutely dirty, what else could be? That bothers me. Figured this was a good choice, seeing as it's a chain etc. Unfortunately, we were mistaken and we had to wait about 50 min. to be seated. The restaurant was clean and the host was very nice. Our server was quiet but relatively attentive. One thing I didn't love was how loud it was inside. Definitely not a good choice if you happen to be hungover! Lol. While waiting for our food, the waitress was sitting in a booth talking to someone like they were catching up. That's fine. Something to do during down time while waiting for our food to cook. It took a while but she finally brought our food to the table. Never came back. She came to the table a total of 2 times (drink/order and food). Our waitress went back to sitting down having a conversation and looking at a phone in a booth. We finished eating and waited for our check to come. Another waitress finally came over and asked if we needed anything. We asked for our check, and she quickly got it for us. Guess who finally met me at the cash register to pay? Our waitress! Food: mediocre; I really wish I would have taken a pic (Looks can be deceiving though). I asked for crispy bacon and half a piece (out of 2) wasn't crispy. I had instant grits with more flavor than the ones I had there. The waffle was actually pretty good. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Eggs were pretty good too. Surprisingly I've never been to this chain and there's a few in the area! Decided to go on a Thursday morning. It was fairly busy for a week day but they seated us quickly and brought water and coffee. I love how they leave you a small carafe of water and the coffee pot for refills (I drink a lot of water and can sometimes get annoyed if they don't refill me pretty frequently). The menu is pretty big but it is typical breakfast items. I ordered the Parma Skillet Hash and my boyfriend got the Tri-fecta. Both items were about $12 and I think the hash was justified but the Trifecta was a little overpriced for what comes with it. It's a typical breakfast combo. Anyways, service was super fast and all staff we encountered at this location were friendly! I was very happy with my meal and will be back to try more. read more

Food was pretty good. Had their brisket hash and it was okay the potatoes are a lil dry and the dish was good but felt like it needed something. The BLT eggs benedict was okay, it was served on ciabatta bread that wasn't toasted so it was tough, potatoes were bland and not crispy. The strawberry tres leches was a good standard brioche bread french toast. The million dollar bacon was very flavorful just wish was a bit crispier. The star of the meal was the carnitas tostadas dish, the meat was very flavorful and the cheese/sauce was delicious with beans, corn, avocado, and pickled onions. Very good would recommend that dish. The place is easy to find and lots of parking. The wait for Saturday am to us was 11/2 hours but it so happened that an outside table opened and no one is using it so we grab it and and we had a great time with our friends. The staff are very accommodating and has fast service. They are constantly checking on you if we need assistance. The food now is that melt in the mouth delicious herb plenty food. I got the Traditional Breakfast of sunny side up and mushrooms and herb potatoes. Love it. Have the carrot crush. And a large chocolate pancake. Can't even finish it. But it's utterly delicious. This First Watch is located along Virginia Beach Blvd. pretty much in front of the Hobby Lobby. The place is easily visible from the road. There was ample parking available. Our visit here was on September 16, 2018 and got here around 9 am. When we came in, we were immediately greeted by the hostess. There was a wait, but they said it would be about 15 to 20 minutes. They use Yelp for their waiting list as well. We actually got seated in about 5 to 10 minutes instead. Once we got seated, we looked over the menu again to get an idea of what we would be ordering. The server Leigh came over asking for our drink orders. A few minutes later the drinks came and she asked if we were ready to order. We weren't ready yet, so she let us continue look over the menu. A few minutes later we were ready, but it took a while for her to come back to us. We actually started looking around to see if we could find her. Eventually she finally got back to our table so that we could order our breakfast items. About 10 to 15 minutes after ordering, our food came to the table. I think it was sitting for a while before it came to us since it was lukewarm. Otherwise the food was good. However, it took a while longer to get someone to get some pepper for us as well since the one on the table was out. Once we were done, we didn't realize you have to go up and pay at the counter, where everyone is checking in as well. This is not a very efficient process for paying the bill. Overall, this ended up with an okay experience. There definitely needs to be some more training on the service side, as well as more servers. When you are a table of two and get sidelined for a table of 10, it seems to show where the priorities are for them. I'll give it some time before I come back to see if the service issues and having additional servers will help resolve that in the future. read more

Ok so after handful of visits, I'm rating this place a 3.5 stars. It's in a shopping center that's easy to get to with plenty of parking space. I went with some coworkers and to find out this place isn't the best place to be with a group. Food items have the "go-green" concept. I didn't see any fried food items on the menu i.e. French fries. Specials are posted on the big chalk board- you can't miss it. Here's my take on what I've had so far: Carrot cake pancake - taste exactly like it! Everything you will find in this pancake is what you would find - carrots, nuts, cinnamon and etc. There's great turkey selection from sausage to turkey burger. Potato Hash- very filling! Sandwiches - are good, lunch meat isn't salty and great choice of cheese. Tomato basil soup- was too acid for me, no taste of basil and I've had better. They also offer 100% maple syrup that is an additional charge and you have to ask for it. So what brings this place down for me is you have to go to the front to check out, which is the same line as people checking in! The service is slow and I don't know why but the waiters we had always come back with the wrong orders, so if you make any changes to your order, either the kitchen messes it up or the waitress didn't relay the order correctly. read more

Glad I was finally able to give this place a try!Located in a shopping center with a lot of parking. Came around noon on a Saturday afternoon. The waiting area/doorway can be a little cramped, especially during brunch time. Since it was just me, I took the option of sitting at the community table; an idea I love! It seats people (groups) faster and I actually met some nice ladies that I had good conversation with. Taking a look at the menu, I'm not for sure if I saw any alcoholic drinks so I ordered a pomegranate "mule" which was pretty spot on! I love that individual glass bottles filled with water are brought out to you. Next I ordered the French toast, chicken sausage, and grits. The French toast was huge! I'm not the biggest fan of chicken sausage, but everything was delightful & I would order it again. More of a personal preference, but I didn't like how hard/baked on the cheese on top of my grits was. I like to still be able to mix it in without big clumps of hardened cheese so I ordered an extra side of cheese. They also do not close out tabs at the table, but rather at the front counter which adds even more commotion to the front/waiting area. This particular location way bigger than the one I used to in Florida and Georgia, with plenty of open space and patio sitting. We took the advantage of the walk up community chair (no waiting if you see empty space). We enjoyed the Smoked Salmon and roasted vegetable frittata, chickichanga and the famous French toast. Oh my the Morning meditation juice was to die for - the touch of beets and ginger gave it a unique test - I need to try to make it at home. We were up in the area early on a Friday morning, like 7am early. We were looking for a good breakfast spot and found this sweet little cafe. It was quaint with an old world/country farmhouse fusion feel - upon walking in you felt right at home. The hostess met us with a smile, and our waitress was sweet and attentive. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. Their menu is a bit overwhelming, in a good way! Everything on it sounded mouthwatering and I wanted to try one of everything... but I settled on the Power Wrap. It is an egg white and spinach frittata wrapped in a sun dried tomato wrap. It was tasty but simple. My husband had the Modern Croque Madam and raved about it. He also ordered the "shareable" side of maple glazed, hardwood smoked bacon, which disappeared pretty quickly. We shared the Caramel Crunch Cinnamon Roll for "dessert" which was pure heaven and conjured up visions of autumn and fall leaves with every bite. Comfort food at its best! I'm sorry but I have to be honest, the only reason people go here is because it's either convenient, or they don't know of any better spots. They are also over priced (as is a lot of places these days). Every time I've drove by I've seen lots of people waiting, so I figured it must be amazing! However, it's average at best. They are not skilled on the proper way to cook a poached egg, the flavors on the crab cake Benedict are very conflicting and don't pair well with each other. The service is very below average as you really only see the waitstaff to place your drink order, and food order and then they disappear until it's time to pay. At that time they bring you your receipt and you get to pleasure of waiting in another line to pay for your food. So with the 1 1/2 hour wait to get seated, plus the 15 min wait just to pay. I'd say it was a wasted 2 hours of my life to eat here. read more
