My first time at First Watch and it did not disappoint. Great vibes and a menu, that had something for everyone. I started with the Honey Caramel Crunch Iced Coffee, and wow... this was a treat. It's made with salted caramel and honey, topped with sweet cream cold foam and finished with toffee nut crumbles. Sweet but not too sweet, super smooth, and honestly the kind of iced coffee you sip and immediately think, "okay yes, this is happening today." If you like flavored coffee but don't want it to taste artificial, this is the move. For food, I went with the Farmhouse Hash, and it was exactly what I was craving. Two eggs any style (I went over easy) on top of seasoned potatoes with bacon, avocado, roasted onions and tomatoes, plus cheese. Everything was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. It's hearty without being too heavy, and the whole grain toast on the side was great for scooping up all the good stuff. Service was quick and genuinely friendly, which is always appreciated, especially during breakfast hours when places can get slammed. Food came out fast, drinks stayed full, and the staff was super pleasant. I look forward to coming back!

I recently went to First Watch with a group of my co-workers for a lunch break, and once again I decided to branch out and try something new, the breakfast tacos and potatoes were amazing! & my mint mocha iced coffee was worth the battle in the bathroom later that evening! The menu is packed with great options I'd define recommend the million dollar bacon and home potatoes. Comfort food at its finest.

3.75/5 overall. Used "Get in line" online but hostesses didn't seem to be familiar, still got 8 of us seated soon after arrival which was great. Liked the 2 carafes of water, disliked the baby cups lol. Pumpkin donuts (3/5 stars, $7) were sweet and warm with delicious cream and caramel sides but lacked pumpkin flavor. Maple croissant (3/5, $14) had yummy skillet potatoes, "million dollar bacon" , chicken sausage, egg and jalapeños but all were overpowered by the generous amount of jam. Wife enjoyed her biscuits and gravy, son enjoyed his pumpkin pancake breakfast, all others liked their food but were too hungry to take pics before eating (yes, they lost YelpDad cool points). Restrooms on site, plenty of parking, open dining room with indoor and outdoor seating. Service was fine, manger stopped by our table to make sure we had a good experience.

Good spot for breakfast! Menu has something for everyone including a fit menu. I ordered a specialty coffee which was wildly sweet, but otherwise thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I got their breakfast taco special which was delicious. The pork was perfectly cooked and the toppings were plentiful.

I owed my bestie for an unsavory wager that she surprised me on, so brunch it was! This place was packed, though the wait wasn't terrible. I was still somewhat recuperating from my shenanigans the night before, so I needed a little hair of the dog. The only problem is that they don't have a full bar. So no Irish coffee for me. I settled on the cinnamon toast milk, which is a lovely little concoction of coconut rum, oat milk and cold brew coffee. Yes, please, that's just what I need! Bestie has the spiked lavender lemonade and our souls are at rest. Brunch for this vegetarian bull is lemon ricotta pancakes while bestie has some kind of egg and meat entree. Everything was great up until the part where our waitress dropped off the check instead of us being able to order more drinks.

This place is growing on me. This is the first time at this location, on a lunch date with my oldest son. Loved the bacon and avocado toast and eggs. I could've enjoyed just one piece of toast and would have been fine. The mountain of avocado wasn't expected, but it was appreciated. My son got the breakfast burrito and pancakes after seeing a plate go by. He immediately asked what it was, and said "I want that". The service was good, and event with the wait, it was completely fine. We ended up being seated within 10 minutes.

TENS! TENS! TENS ACROSS THE BOARD. Atmosphere, price, food quality and service-wise. I can't even count how many times I've been to First Watch and I'm unashamed because everything is just that good. My go-to order is the Farm House Hash- eggs over easy with Artisan wheat toast. This dish is loaded with all of the goods: bacon, avocado, house roasted onions, cheddar, Monterey cheese and potatoes. I also like to get a side order of the infamous Million Dollar Bacon, which is guaranteed to make you want to order seconds. I fall guilty to it almost every single time. If you're thinking of stopping by First Watch, here are some things to be mindful of: Wait Time Typical wait time for First Watch is around 10-20 minutes on a normal day but be mindful of the weekend. The longest I've waited on a Saturday is around 30 minutes- First Watch also has the option to visit their website and join the waitlist of the location you'll be visiting which is super helpful. Large Parties I would recommend calling ahead to ensure the restaurant can accommodate your party, especially if you plan on visiting during the weekend. This place gets pretty busy! Every location from Chesapeake, Suffolk and Virginia Beach has been a hit. It's brunch season. Stop by soon!

Love how the exposed pipes, very cool atmosphere! Very attentive, friendly service constantly coming around to refill coffee and water. Excellent selection of healthy food items, both sweet and savory!

Great Sunday Brunch Spot! Was able to add our names to the waitlist before leaving church. Wait was quick, not the 45 mins that we expected. Staff were polite and helpful. It was our first time and the waitress did great going over the menu. Coffee was fresh and they gave me a whole pot for the table !! Ended up ordering the Trifecta with bacon and a waffle. I LOVED the waffles. My daughter had the Elevated egg sandwich which she loved. Definitely will add this place to our spots. Plus the bathroom was also clean.

Food and juices IMMACULATE Seated quickly for large party Waiter wasn't the best - too sarcastic for the group

I've been here a few times and the service and food is always amazing!! Had the double crunch breakfast tacos today and I'm drooling posting this they were so good. Not pictured, but we also had the million dollar bacon, the side of potatoes and the cinnamon roll and they were all amazing as well. Place is clean and staff is always super nice!

Decided to grab breakfast here. We have only been a couple on times on the weekend. This was a Friday and it was not crowded which was a nice surprise. Our waiter was very friendly and service was fast. The coffee is top notch and you get a carafe so no waiting on refills. The pancake was huge and I had to take half home. If you go on the weekend, be prepared for a very long wait. The only complaint was that it was rather chilly inside when we went.

Each table gets complimentary sweet potato biscuits. They don't tell you this so when you order a half dozen biscuits you'll be surprised when you get so many of them. Then they arrive undercooked, looking like someone had a vendetta against following a recipe. They looked and tasted like a mushy, undercooked cookie. Fried shrimp was mostly bread and tough. Crab legs were overcooked and dry. Sweet potato fries were mushy, like they were frozen fries that were heated and then reheated in the microwave after sitting out. Mashed potatoes were somehow crunchy like it was instant mix that wasn't mixed properly. I don't understand how there was such a long line for this place when there are other greater restaurants in VB.

Our first table ended up being under a spotlight that was directly in our line of sight (it looked like it was meant for the specials board), so we asked to move. Staff was accommodating and got us to a better table quickly. The space itself is really nice. It was clean, rustically decorated, and the live plants in liquor bottles on the tables are a nice touch. Our server was friendly from the start and took drink orders right away. My daughter and I had sodas, and my husband ordered the Southern Charm Old Fashioned off the specials menu, which he enjoyed. The menu is on the smaller side, which we actually like. One unique detail was the option to "buy a round for the kitchen," which we thought was a really nice touch and decided to add it when we ordered our appetizer. We started with the fried deviled eggs after a friend recommended them. They were creative with three styles (classic with pickle, togarashi ginger, and crispy prosciutto), but overall a bit on the dry side and not as flavorful as we expected. We asked for Dijon, but they don't have it. Our server suggested and brought out the Baja dipping sauce instead, which did pair well and kind of improved them. My husband had the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. He said the fish was flaky and well cooked. I ordered the Union grilled cheese, which unfortunately seemed like it had been sitting a bit before being served, as the bottom was soggy. It was just okay overall and not particularly memorable for the price. The sweet potato fries on the side were the clear standout. They were crispy, the perfect balance of sweet and salty and honestly the best part of the dish. Our daughter had the kid's smashburger. It was exactly that. Service throughout the meal was good. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and there when needed. The main disappointment came at the end. When our meals were served, the server actually offered sauces at the table (ketchup, mayo, ranch, etc.), and specifically suggested items like the baja sauce for the eggs and ranch to us. Because of that, we were surprised to see several charges for the sauces on the bill, especially since they were offered and recommended at the table with no mention of any additional cost. We were also charged a credit card fee, with no signage anywhere (entrance, hostess stand, or menu) indicating that paying with a card would include an extra charge. It just left an unnecessary sour note on an otherwise solid, casual meal. Nothing was bad, and nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the lack of transparency around those final charges really impacted the overall experience for us.

They are just south of where Holland Rd. merges into Independence Blvd. My most recent visit here was on April 23, 2026. From the outside of the business, it does stand out a bit with the large name above the entrance. You can definitely see it if you look from Holland Rd. I had seen it too when traveling down that road, but I finally came in for the first time on March 10, 2026 after leaving the Voter Registrar's Office not too far from there. Upon entering, it wasn't too busy yet, but it was a little before 4 pm, so it was still early for the evening dinner rush. The inside of the place definitely has the bar scene vibe with the bar area and televisions showing sports there, with closed captioning on. One of the bartenders said we could find a spot to be seated. My mom and I went to one of the booths available. It was just seconds later that our server came over, welcomed us here, bringing menus over, and introduced herself. The first question is always asking about what to drink. I continue to go with my usual, which is water with lemons, while my mom got Coke. After having some time to look over the menu, when we got our drinks, my mom and I were both ready to order. I decided to go with the Sloppy Joe Samich with Onion Rings as the side item, but subbing Pepper Jack Cheese instead of American Cheese. My mom decided to do an appetizer as the main course, which was the Loaded Nachos Half Size Portion. A little less than 10 minutes later, our food orders came to the table, and they looked really good, and when we went to try it out, they were definitely hot too. The Sloppy Joe Samich ended up being really good and hit the spot for me. The onion rings were good too, and were a bit of an indulgence for me. My mom really liked the Loaded Nachos and that had good flavor to it as well. Our server also told us about various specials they have through the week, so this would warrant future visits for us too. The next few visits would be on Thursdays, as they have a $7 Burger Night Special beginning at 5 pm. For those next visits (including the most recent one, except for the April 6 visit), I would end up getting the Bacon Cheeseburger With Fries (additional cost to change the side item for specials). My mom also did a few types of burgers on these visits, one being the Cowboy Burger. Every time, the burgers came out as expected and hot. The fries were really good too, as I usually do pepper on them instead of salt. There was one additional visit on April 6th, which was a Monday. We came in that day for the Fried Shrimp Basket Special. That one comes with Fried Shrimp and Fries, and is available all day. The shrimp were really good and filling too. Overall, the food, service, atmosphere, and specials have been great here. I really feel like they are a hidden gem. When it comes to sodas, they did carry Coke products, but as of the middle of April 2026, they are now serving Pepsi products. I want to note that there is a 3% order processing fee, likely for anyone paying by a card instead of cash. Even when I have been there at busier times, parking was never an issue. It feels like a family atmosphere too. On the most recent visit, they even stated that they notice us as regulars here now. If you're looking for a different place that serves more than just burgers, this place is worth checking out, as I have not seen a place around yet that has the Sloppy Joe type samich.

The both of us, well three of us if you count the dog, enjoyed our meals. I went with the doggy-style version of the Chicken n Waffles. This take on the classic dish included: a bacon-infused waffle, fried chicken thigh, sausage gravy, candied bacon, and bourbon maple syrup. Overall, I enjoyed the dish with the small exceptions that the batter made the waffle really heavy for my personal tastes. I'm more of a fan of light, fluffy waffles. Unfortunately, I did not know this at the time, but the kitchen puts the syrup on the waffle for you. Personally, I like to add my own syrup because I do not like too much syrup on my waffles (and pancakes). However, those two minor issues did not take away from the dish. Also, the other aspects of the dish made up for those minor inconveniences. My partner ordered the Pongo, which was served with a fried chicken thigh, cheddar biscuit, scrambled egg, sausage gravy, house potatoes. If you are a fan of Bloody Marys, the restaurant has a selection of 4 or 5 interesting Bloody Marys. I went with the Porky's Revenge, which had bacon-infused vodka, Zing Zang Bloody Mary mix and a bacon-dusted rim. Both of us were quite pleased with our selections. Also, come here hungry because the serving sizes are quite large. Because of the large serving sizes, I thought the prices were relatively fair compared to other places the area. Actually, I would change "fair" to "generous". Both of our dishes were about 17 bucks with the 4ish dollar 'doggy style' add on. Generally speaking, our waitress was really on the ball. Although we were sitting outside, she frequently checked in us and was very professional while being funny. Hopefully, we can make another stop here during our next Va. Beach vacation adventure.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Porch on long creek. First off, there's a few…read moredifferent places you can sit at this restaurant. They have an indoor dining area that is more like intimate and has a cozy feel. They have an outside area that you can eat at and have a great view of the waterfront. And of course they have the "Porch" area which gives that outdoor vibe but you're still inside of a fenced in area. My friend and I ate in the dining room area since it wasn't a wait. We ordered drinks, two crushes which were amazing and refreshing. It definitely gave island vibes. We started off with the crab dip which was incredible and flavorful. The bread with the dip was A1. I could eat the bread alone. Now for the actual dishes. She ordered the crab cake sandwich, she really enjoyed it. Not much filler at all. I ordered a variety. So I had the Cali Virginia Roll which was amazing!! I wish I would have ordered two orders. It was just more on the pricey side. I also had the fried shrimp which were HUGE. I didn't even finish it all. I cannot wait to come back and try everything again.

Slow service...which really dragged. No rapport built by the staff. Sat in the waiting area…read morewaiting....in front of the kitchen...it had no pop. No vibe. Then the food came. Shrimp scampi tasted like butter noodles. No flavor at all aside from the butter. She crab soup was....it was okay but lacked depth of flavor. It was very apparent they used zamtham Gumm or another sauce thickener. Sushi was trash, but I expected that. The filet was....it was okay....but for $52 it was not a step above a chain in any way. Very over priced for what was served. Ambience is on point but we likely won't be back unless it's for lunch,

Stopped by for a burger and a beer to drown in my solitude. Had great service. Prompt, attentive and genuine. Only downside was some pretentious guy named Jeff kept whining about the hostess and the service being "special needs" because he couldn't get his group prompt service under 15 minutes on a special holiday. If it wasn't for some derogative guy whining off the bell about how the service wasn't up to par every couple minutes I'd have enjoyed what would've been quite a depressing day for me. Other than that, burger was damn heavenly. Beer was cold and good. Service was grand. Some people just ruin it for others. Great spot, great burger, good beer and good folks. B.W.

I haven't visited 1608 Crafthouse much, which is a shame because I've always enjoyed their food and…read moreservice. The last time I set foot inside their Pleasure House Rd location was at least 10 years ago. I celebrated my birthday there as my friends were kind enough to take me out. It was a Sunday morning and I sought out a place that offered brunch. I noticed 1608 was open and decided to head over, especially since I haven't visited them in ages. When I walked in, I noticed their dining room is dimly lit - much darker than I remember. I was greeted immediately by a kind hostess and she proceeded to sit me at a nearby table and provided me with menus (one food, one alcohol). I took my time looking over the food menu, and in the meantime I ordered a pint of Center of the Universe's Bald Irishman and a bottle of Boylan's Black Cherry soda (they do not have a soda fountain). What made this visit memorable was that 1608's bartender, Hunter, was an old acquaintance from back in my restaurant days. He spotted me and came over to say hi. After my meal, I continued to catch up with him at the bar. His presence made a pleasant experience even more fantastic. I thought I was hungry, so I ordered 2 dishes - Smoked Ham Fried Rice and the Breakfast Burrito. According to Hunter, every item is made fresh in house. After biting into each, you could tell that's true. Both the fried rice and burrito were delicious and boasted lots of flavor. Although I prefer my fried rice a bit simpler (if you give me just garlic fried rice, I am SET), 1608's fried rice (veggies, garlic, soy, basmati rice, 2 runny eggs, smoked ham) had a lot going on, which made for a flavorful dish. I liked the rice and the burrito (Korean style fried chicken breast, scrambled eggs, cilantro lime, cheddar, pico de gallo) a lot. I didn't finish either because it was a lot of food (I really thought I was hungry, haha). But these leftovers turned into a fantastic dinner later on. 1608 looked clean and organized, although I thought it was a little too dark inside, at least for brunch service. That's not a dealbreaker since everything from the food to the service was as excellent as I remember. I hope to return soon with my mom. Regardless, I'll find my way back eventually. Thank you, 1608 Crafthouse! And great seeing you again, Hunter! JV
