Fish Frenzy is my go to spot for Salt water fish and supplies in the Temecula area! I'm pretty new to the Salt water arena and purchased my first tank in June. The owner basically walked me through step by step on how to care for fish and corals and was very knowledgeable. No question was a dumb question and he even helped me set up my sump. Before finding out about Fish Frenzy, I went to another local fish store but they offered no assistance and told me my parameters were not ready for corals. I then went to Fish Frenzy with my wife and the owner said my parameters were fine and to start off with easy corals like GSP and xenia. After those flourished, I ended up purchasing different coral and fish. The owner is not pushy with selling fish or equipment, and gives expert advice on what will work with my set up. I came in looking for a specific fIsh, and the young man who helped me steered me to a similar looking fish by mistake. Upon getting it home and discovering the error I took it back. The owner was very apologetic and took the return graciously. While the first visit ended negatively, the way they managed it restored my confidence that they value their customer's' satisfaction. After reading some RIDICULOUS reviews by people who are only mad because Vince's views are different I figured I gove my 2 cents and honest opinion. Ist off if you just slandering because he chooses not wear a mask and you don't agree SHOP ELSEWHERE!!! Don't impose your ridiculous personal beliefs on others as you would want others to do to you! If you have a mask you safe right?? Enough of that nonsense and back to why I don't shop here anymore for real reasons and no I won't leave a 1 star just because I'm mad. Honestly its a great store with great products, fish and corals. My issue is as many others have said his ego or choice of words comes off condescending but I him and I'm ok with that. His prices can be high and although I know of cheaper places I also know there's more expensive. His knowledge is pretty spot on. If he said "your tank is filthy" well it probably is. Best choice of words no but the truth? Probably. Now why I haven't stepped foot into his shop in 2 years. He gave me a price and back out on the price charging me 25% more than what he told me. I said you told me X but now its X. He said yeah man sorry I said too cheap of a price. After all the years of being a loyal customer I was pretty ticked off and only bought one of the items because i desperately needed it and haven't been back since. The guy busted my balls on my services and I went above and beyond but you can't even keep to your word? Yeah I personally will never shop there again. Nor the place around the corner. With the cocky attitudes I will drive to San Diego, OC or San Bernadino. With that said if you want to give then a shot its a good store if you can see over the cockyness. To start, places of business that don't wear mask's are selfish. Its a common courtesy which is not found here. never liked the attitude of the "guy with tats" My borther-in-law bought 2 fish $70 each. Both died in his tank within a month, all the other fish he bought from other places are fine. Bought a fish myself only to find that it had Ick and infected and killed my entire tank. Tanks aren't safe, fish aren't healthy. Just read the 1 stars and see the truth! Stay away from this place. I also love how the first review for this place is a 1 star HA! read more

So we came here to get our sons first fish. Was greeted by their only sales associate who was not wearing a mask. We asked him politely to please put one on out of respect for me having a pre-existing condition and our children, he said "No!" So we left. I visited this store today. I was greeted by the owner Vince who helped by walking me thru the store and answering all of my questions I had. Once I made it to the back of the store he backed off a little and stayed nearby in case I had more questions, which I did. Customer service was perfect and he was knowledgeable. The aquariums looks very clean and disease free. Also for this area (Inland Empire) the prices were fair if not lower than the surrounding aquarium/fish stores alike. Only reason for a 4 instead of a 5 is because the size of the store. I would have liked to seen a little bit more selection. Don't take me wrong he had pretty much anything I would need just put in to a smaller box. Very clean too! Oh and one last thing. He had a descent amount of used items like skimmers and pumps etc... which is great because we all know how the consumer gets ripped off in the aquarium world. read more

beware! all the fish here are sick and have ich! the owner and the staff here will misguide you, give you wrong info, and will sell you sick fish just so it can die and you can keep buying more from this store! if i were you, go elsewhere!! for those interested, here is my experience! being new to the hobby and not knowing any better, the owner vince sold us a bleaching torch coral - for those that don't know what a bleaching coral is, it means that corals turns white under stress when they're dying. i'm a fanatic for the color white, and when i saw this white coral with tentacles on it, i was amazed. when i inquired about this coral he told me, "that's a rare coral and its $250" well guess what i bought it and it ended up dying due to this shops misguidance. after hours and hours of trying to look for this coral to buy it again, i found out that corals don't come naturally white... i bought a dying coral and he said nothing about it. clearly he is just another money hungry business owner with no ethics of any-kind. all the fish here are sick, have ich and are dying. he will sell you sick dying fish, just to take your money. his own employee told us to run our tanks at 84 degrees... what the flying f##k. for those who don't know, that temperature is way too high for fish and coral. things will start to die. the sweet spot is between 76-78 degrees. a couple of days ago he also admitted that no corals come in a white color. for those who read this beware!!! i have since then bought all my other fish and corals at riptide, the corals are cheaper, have a good selection, will give you discounts, and free items. a lot more goodies and save more money. overall they will not give you wrong information or screw you over! read more

It's ok. I have been purchasing fish for over 20 years and owned all types of aquariums. I will have to say the prices are high and over priced. Prime example one is clown loaches hat are maybe an inch are priced at $15. This is twice the price of one that is about two inches. Fish Frenzy is awesome! I always come in looking for one or two things and walk out with more. This place is dangerous! lol. Vince is super cool and you can tell this is more than just a hobby for him. If you are having any problems with your tank or your setup he is willing to help and give you advice. This is the spot to go if you want great quality fish. All of the fish I have picked up from Fish Frenzy have better coloration than the fish I have gotten from Petco or PetSmart. I cant say enough about this spot. When I came in, everything in my tank was dying and I was about to throw in the towel. These guys gave me great directions based on what I told them was going on and within a couple weeks my tank was up and running beautifully. I was able to pick their brains for information (like I love to do) and they answered every question I had. Thier livestock is hearty and disease free. Wow to start off I spent $320 at this guys store for my kids bday took the fish home along with some fish we bought from petco. All of his fish died, petco fish lived, tested the water and it was fine, returned to his store the next day to see if he would replace the fish. The guy cussed us out saying it was our fault that the fish died and wasn't his problem. My wife returned to the store with my kid to get a copy of the receipt. He began to cuss out my wife in front of my 3 year old and put his hands on her and pushed her out of the store. I called to ask him why he put his hands on my wife and all I got from him was a bad mouth trying to belittle me. This guy has a bad attitude and a foul mouth, his business should be shut down. Not very knowledgeable in the livestock they sell. The manager/owner is not very helpful in the least when an issue arises on something that was purchased from his store. A fish was sold to us, even after the fact that I had asked if it was reef safe. It turns out the fish was NOT reef safe. We had been going here for a while, needless to say, we will not be returning. I highly recommend Gill's Marine Aquatics, or Deep Sea Creations. I have had two experiences with this store so far. Both times were to my expectations and also helpful. I have 4 stars instead of 5 due to pricing. BUT pricing is not that off. It's more than petco (the fish at fish frenzy are bigger) but you WON'T get the selection that Fish Frenzy has, plus the education behind them either. I have gotten a little bit bigger fish for cheaper in the past, but the colors were not at vibrant. So really you get what you pay for here. You really do.
