Our meals were broiled which kept the fish light and moist. Cooked just right. Rice was perfect. Salads left a bit to be desired. But not too bad. Lose a star for Iceberg lettuce sitting in water. Fishmonger incorrectly placed my order AND after acknowledging their mistake they did not know how to do chargebacks when I asked for them to correct the mistake, charge me back for the incorrect charge, and recharge me the correct amount. I cannot believe it took us so long to discover this gem! So we're trying to eat healthier and we had a whole menu planned for tonight's dinner, but C Town had slim pickings when it came to fish and my boyfriend suggested that we check out Fish House. I'm so glad he did! The service is outstanding. The guy working, helped us choose which fish to buy based on the menu we wanted to cook. We went with Cod and it came out lovely. The value, the fish was really fresh. And it was much cheaper than what was at C Town, across the street. For example, the salmon steak $5 a pound less and you had much more choice and it looked much more fresh than what was at the supermarket across the street. They sell seafood over ice like a regular fish store but the other side they cook seafood, It is a quaint little place, I ordered the salmon filet and it came with a side of Spanish rice, a half a pound of salmon and a salad for $8. They also had a one pound salmon choice for $16 i believe. You are given a choice of frying or broiling the fish. I took it broiled and it was nicely done. Management of this establishment changed around 2015-2016. Customer service is very poor. I have been ordering from Fish House online since my first review. Also, my company's staff had been faithful customers since before I started working here. The new manager accused our company of saying racial slurs to their delivery man, in 2016. After a thorough investigation, we found that no one from our company verbally assaulted the delivery man from Fish House. It was, in fact, someone outside of the company, using our address to make their order. Several similar incidence's occurred thereafter, of unsuspecting delivery men walking to our company door with an online order paper, and a huge bag of food, only to find that no one in the office made the order. To make matters worse, when different co-workers called Fish House to find out details, in order to make amends and heal the broken connection between our companies, the manager was abrupt, and would not explain what happened, even when we offered to address the situation. The manager hung up on us each time, stating that he did not want orders from our company. Our company consists of about 95% minorities, and only a handful of people that order during the day. Everyone was confused about the incident. Fast Forward: I tried calling them today, asking if it would be OK to put in an order, trying to respect their misplaced boundary. The manager asked, "Which company?" (Apparently he has several companies that he no longer delivers to...) When I told him our company name, he said, "No. We don't deliver there any more. We don't go to that area anymore." I didn't argue. According to seamless, our company is within (very short) distance of delivery. After reading another Yelp review about the manger saying the "N" word, I am truly blown away, and I am finally at peace with changing my review, to show the hypocrisy, and the awful service. It is with no glee that I write this. This establishment used to be run by very, VERY kind and professional people. I am very sorry that they no longer run this place. I have been to the fish house once before, and I had a craving today for fried shrimp. I stopped in and looked over the menu board and after standing there no one asked if they could help me. Ok, Im fine with that, so I make eye contact with the cook behind the counter and place my order. She unhappily takes it, and I take a seat and wait, not long. There are two people a man and a woman behind the counter and their eyes are fixated on the tv, and take my money while there eyes are still glued on the tv. Then I open my food to put some french dressing that was on the table, to put on my salad and a guy from the fresh fish section comes out and states there is dressing in my bag.
