Went here on a sunny Saturday for lunch and was really impressed. The menu has tons of options, all the classics like oysters, crab rolls, and fish and chips plus really creative options like a salmon bao buns and a fried fish smash burger. We sat at an outside table and our oysters came out super quickly and they were some of the best I've had. We also got a bbq albacore sandwich and a smoked trout Rueben which were incredible! WOW!!! My, wife and dearest friend from Chicago were in San Francisco this past Friday to visit her. We, decided to head over to Sasaulito and Truly walked right into this hidden gem. We visited fish. with a group of 8 people on a sunny June weekday at lunch. Initially, we were confused by the counter service and got barked at by someone who looked like a supervisor. Eventually, we got it sorted and placed our reasonably large order. For the setting, the prices seemed a little high. They gave us our chowders and drinks at the counter, and the rest was going to be delivered to our table. Our oysters came to the table quickly and were pretty good. Shortly thereafter, the entrées started arriving, and they were well prepared. I had the fish and chips, which were moist inside and not greasy. Other hits at the table were the oysters and chips and the garlic noodles with fish. Bonus points for the fact that they have a parking lot! The location of Fish is perfect, in a laidback lot off of the main road and right on the coast. The views are beautiful there and they serve the freshest seafood around. It's counter service so you order at the counter and they give you a number to bring to your table of choice. I got the grilled trout with fresh pasta - fish was definitely fresh and I do enjoy the texture of the fresh pasta as well. The usuals on the menu are good but the salad specials are always something special. The mussels were good and the fries were crispy. I would order a side of bread to dunk into the broth. The seafood is always cooked to perfection. If you're not a seafood fan, there are other options on the menu for you to enjoy with the view. Hugely expensive and food below mediocre. My friend is Italian and said the linguine was rubbery and she couldn't eat a second bite of it. My fried oysters were mushy and unappealing. Definitely one of the best seafood restaurants that I had. The food is superb, and the seafood is fresh. As for the price, it is on the higher side. $12 for each of the kid's meals, $27 for the Salmon pasta, $24 for the Fish & Chips, $12 for the bowl of Clam Chowder, $15 for a glass of Sangria (not in the photos). Came by for a late lunch after a hike in the headlands. Restaurant is in a back lot by the harbor with plenty of parking. We arrived around 330pm and was surprised to see how long of a line there was. You order at the counter and seat yourself. Everyone had their dogs with them and there was a nice view of the harbor. Our group ordered a bunch of dishes and shared so it was good to taste a bunch of them. First of all, they don't clean their dishes. The plates given to us were so dirty that we had to tell them to change them. The fish and chips - the batter is way too thick, no taste, and not good. Cerviche had potato in it?! Really?! Taco bao - not impressed. Strawberry cobblers are not that good either what saves these cobblers is the vanilla and matcha ice cream. The sandwich was pretty still solid and just as good as the last time but the price is hard to swallow for what you're getting. Tried out the tuna sandwich as well - ended up on a too fishy tasting. Out of all the FISH in the sea, Fish Restaurant might be the one for me! Fresh seafood at really affordable prices makes me happy as a CLAM, and Fish Restaurant definitely delivers. Here's what I tried: Clam linguine: they handmake their pasta in house, and you can definitely tell with how chewy, fresh, and supple their noodles are. I also loved how this dish was just absolutely loaded with fresh clams (with no sand in them either), as well as the most fragrant, white wine-based clam sauce. Fresh oysters: I'm super picky with oysters, but I was super impressed with how freshly shucked, juicy, and non-briny (almost sweet) these were. Definitely a must-get in my book, and next time I'd definitely order more! Clam chowder: definitely the perfect option if you're looking for something warm, comforting, and just absolutely loaded with fresh clam meat. The food and service here is a definite 10/10. The workers are sweet and are happy to serve you. The food is amazing, i got the fish and chips and it was so fresh as well as the potato wedges they were crispy and flavorful. My boyfriend got the salmon sandwich which i tried and it was so good (i usually don't like salmon). We shared the clam chowder and that was had great flavor as well. Fish is a great spot. It's not what you'd expect in the sense that you order your food prior to eating/seating. The food - the Dungeness crab roll was pretty delicious. I've had crab rolls from other spots throughout the bay who make theirs cold. This is not that. The torpedo roll is buttered and warm but the crab is steaming and lightly seasoned. It's a really good meal. I believe you can either get fries or salad on the side - the clam chowder is good, but It wasn't the best I've had- you'd have to drive to Bodega Bay. Let's start with oysters: absolutely fresh, delicious and no nonsense oysters. I'd eat a whole dozen by myself. Fish & Chips: omg it was so good! Perfectly crispy on the outside and super flaky (not fry) on the inside. Can we take a moment to appreciate the Chips AND the fries we got with the kids menu? THE BEST FRIES I've ever had like anywhere! Every single piece of fry was crispy. Saigon Salmon Sandwich: this is what I order everyone I come here. The salmon could not be cooked any better. I'm not a big fan of Vietnamese sandwiches (no offense) but this was is just perfection! I can't even describe how good it tastes you have to try it! Fast efficient and delicious. Well on a Wednesday afternoon, with California opening up from most covid restrictions it wasn't too busy. I can imagine it's hell trying to get a table on a weekend with such glorious weather like this day. Order in line and cruise the ample indoor and outdoor areas for picnic table seating. My friends and I were driving back home from Stinson Beach and wanted some seafood, so we stopped at Fish Restaurant. Surprisingly there was a line at 4:30 on a Saturday, but we thought that was a good sign they were popular. You order at the front counter first and then find a table - they'll bring you your food. I had the crab roll ($36) with fries. The fries were really tasty, but the crab roll was somewhat disappointing. The portion of crab was fair, but it was pretty bland, even with the lemon. The bread also didn't seem right as it was kinda crumbly and falling apart. My friend really enjoyed the fish and chips. My other friend thought the clam pasta was okay - she wanted a shrimp dish but they didn't have any options. The chips and guacamole were decent enough. We came on a Saturday around lunch time, so there was a long line. We got the fish and chips. The steak fries had a crispy outer layer and a nice bite, but the thicker fries could have been fried a bit longer as the inside still had the powdery texture of insufficiently cooked fries. The fish (cod) was great! They had a crispy outside and juicy interior, not dry at all and great on their own. The ketchup and tartar sauce tasted homemade, a nice touch. They also provided malt vinegar for the fries, but it wasn't as strong as I'd have liked. Plenty of parking and plenty of outdoor seating which is first come first serve. Overall great experience! This restaurant is located in a cavernous, open ceiling, warehouse type of building. Tables are generally conventional park picnic tables and benches. Floors are hard surface and appear to be concrete. Food is ordered at a counter and delivered to the table. Music is very contemporary, but a little loud. The ambiance is probably positive on a warm summer day when the windows and outdoor patio are open. Otherwise it was drafty, and its rusticity now seems a little dated. The food and beverages are middle priced, at least by Marin County standards! I enjoyed what was served; however this restaurant cannot come close to a better seafood place called "Hook" which is in a beer garden hidden away on Redwood Hwy in Tam Valley (across "ish" from Walgreens.) We got three things: fish and chips, smoked trout pasta, and local squid (fish of the day) with aglio olio pasta. The fish was oily and bland. The chips were akin to potato wedges and were the only good part of the meal. With a healthy dose of tartar sauce, the lack of salt on both items made it good enough to eat. The pastas were both so severely under seasoned, I had to ask for salt (which I would normally never do). The noodles were maybe made in house and very toothsome, with plenty of potential. But, the sauces were pretty much soup - I mean the noodles were swimming in liquid. The squid was burnt in some places and almost raw in others. The niblets of kale and king trumpet mushroom in the trout pasta were just boiled and flavorless. For $100, I was expecting so much more. I was a little wary of how long the wait would be since they don't take reservations and the COVID restrictions were recently lifted. There was a line, but it moved quite quickly. They put menus on the wall, while you wait which was a nice way to choose your items before you get to the counter. They do have daily specials that are only listed once you get inside. Once you order, they give you a number and you can find a table. There's a few tables inside, but the majority of tables were outside. It was a bit breezy, but they had heat lamps that did the trick. Boston white clam chowder: Nice flavors that comes with oyster crackers and a slice of bread. The chowder had great flavors and was not too Fish Reuben: With the rye, sauerkraut and dressing, I was initially a bit wary that the flavors would overpower the black cod.
