This place was amazing!!! On my Top 5 of favorite restaurants I have been too. I had the shrimp-n-grits on everyone's recommendation and it didn't disappoint. The wife had the Blackened Chicken Penne Pasta, and WOW is all I can say. My son had the Shrimp Po'boy and it was one of the best I have ever had. I almost wish I had ordered that. We tried the fried green tomatoes and they were wonderful, but didn't live up to the rest of the order, which wasn't a bad thing. Finished off with some bread pudding and very, very good! Yes we had to wait 30 minutes at 5 pm, but for that kind of food and service, who cares. If wait time is what matters to you, then you need to find another place to eat and continue to eat at mediocre restaurants. This place is worth the hype!! read more

It's a wait that quite frankly just isn't worth it. Kinda like when you have the munchies or you are just plain freaking starved and you know you're gonna stop at the fast food drive through cause that's what you do when you are starved with the munchies from drinking at happy hour...... But then you pull up and you see the line of cars wrapped around and people up on people on the inside and then your conscious says to you...."is it really worth the wait?" Yeah.... They seated every single group of 5 or more before our table of 3. Irregardless of when they arrived. The menu is good but by the time we ate, they were out of multiple items. The $30 special came out cold and had to be reheated. It was delicious, but there's no reason why it couldn't be right the first time. Service is mediocre. read more

My family and I went back to Fisherman's Corner for the second time on our fall break trip. They made my daughter spaghetti for a kids meal since that is her favorite food. I know this place is known for there seafood, but let me tell you honestly it was the best spaghetti I have ever tried. I have been to many Italian restaurants over the years and this wins hands down. I will be ordering spaghetti from this place next time we go. read more

The first time I went here, there was about an hour wait for dinner. However, they made it nice by having a little make-shift bar outside, a corn hole game set up, and seating around the porch and yard. We weren't in a hurry and was actually relaxing to sit, chat with my husband, and work up an appetite. I ordered the shrimp and grits. The grits were fried in a ball with Gouda cheese, and it was SO GOOD I was replaying the meal in my head for the next month! The next time was for Mother's Day brunch. They had free mimosas which was nice, but the breakfast wasn't very good- runny eggs. However, I know breakfast isn't their specialty, so it's not a big deal to me. The only reason I deducted a star is because the place really needs a good cleaning. I hate to say this, because the food is so good it almost doesn't matter- but it's pretty filthy inside. I will still go there for those grits, but hopefully management reads this and thinks about giving the tables/booths/walls a good once-over. read more

Just an echo here, but The Fisherman's Corner is a hidden gem. My husband and I decided to give this place a try after reading Yelp reviews - we were not disappointed. It looks like a dive from the outside but walk through the door and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The Saturday night we were there they had a piano player and the place was packed. We felt lucky to get a table without reservations. The dinner menu is quite diverse with a nice selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrées. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits (grits with gouda cheese then fried, how can you go wrong?) and I sampled the Creole Linguini ordered by my husband - another terrific choice. No matter how much you think you've eaten for the evening, DO get the bread pudding. Trust me. Although the wine list is presented on a well-worn sheet of paper they have a decent selection and we were pleased with our choice. Service was top notch. All in all, a very good dining experience and I can't wait to go back during our next trip to Perdido Key. read more

So, Perdido Key proper doesn't have that many restaurants, which may partially explain why this one is so highly regarded. First, the environment - it's one of those shabby-chic fish "shacks," which I'm fine with. However, there is only air conditioning in half of the restaurant, which I am not fine with. If I pay $28 for an entree, I tend to shower, shave, and put on a decent outfit. That's a total waste if you're eating here, since you'll be sweating within five minutes. We ate here the week of June 10th, and I kept looking for AC vents in case the AC was just broken, but I never saw any. Oddly, when we made the reservation, they asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. We chose inside, but we probably would have chosen differently if they had indicated that inside was hotter and stuffier than outside. Next, the wine - since the restaurant was probably 85 degrees, guess the temperature at which the red wine was served? They did have a separate wine cabinet for their pricier wines, but I couldn't tell if it was temperature controlled or not. The food - when we arrived for our 6pm reservation, we were told that there were no mushrooms, no softshell crab, and one other item that escapes me. This was a 6pm reservation, not 10pm. We had a grouper special that was frankly very good. It looked very sloppy on the plate, but the flavor was very good and the fish was cooked properly. We also had a fried seafood platter, which gulf shrimp and oysters. This was just average. Nothing wrong with it, but not the best in the area. We also ordered a house salad. Remember that the wine was served at room temp (85 degrees)? So was the salad. When was the last time you ate a warm salad? In any other restaurant with AC you would have wondered if they had actually heated the greens in the microwave. That warm. The service - excellent. Our waitress was courteous, knowledgeable, accommodating, etc. Nothing to complain about, although if I were a server of her skills and qualifications, I would go somewhere where I wouldn't be forced to pour someone a glass of 85 degree red wine. In the end, the food is fairly priced, and if you can sit outside on a nice night you can have a good time. If this is the best restaurant in Perdido Key, it's ONLY because Perdido Key has about 10 restaurants. read more

This place is one of my favorite spots for New Orleans cuisine "outside" of the Louisiana State boarders.... The chef is from New Orleans (I hear) and totally understands cajun and southern food.... Nothing over spiced just for the sake of heat and authentic ingredients shipped in from NOLA. Must try the Gumbo - Dark Roux, Loaded with Shrimp, Crawfish, and andouie sausage... REALLY Good. Also, the PoBoys are made with large Gulf Shrimp and Gambino's French Bread... Just like the Quarter. Perfect place to drive up by car or boat and chow down....... read more

I have no complain about this place: simply perfect. I went with my girlfriend, we pay $39 (including 3 beers) and we couldn't finish the food on the table. Must try the bbq Cajun Shrimps. Great experience! There was a wait but they had an outdoor bartender! The food was worth the wait! We had the baked spicy oysters and shrimp (not too spicy) and the specials... Grilled wahoo and panko crusted grouper. Both were excellent! The service was excellent too! One piece of feedback would be to clean up the dumpster area for those waiting. Made a reservation several days in advance for this place and they did a good job of having our reservation ready on time. The food was very mediocre but priced higher than some other places right nearby on the beach. Crab cakes had bits of shell in every bite, grilled fish and shrimp combo had an extremely small portion size for the price. The salad was the best thing about the meal. This was our first time to eat at this restaurant and it was fantastic! Started with a cup of gumbo and it's the best that we've ever had. Hubby had Shrimp Diane and I had blackened Mahi-mahi. All food is prepared to order and it's worth the wait. This is definitely a restaurant you'll want to dine at while in Perdido Key and don't judge the restaurant by its rough exterior, the food and service is far better than most resort restaurants. We went back to Fisherman's Corner to see if it had improved and we are glad that we did! Susan was our waitress and she was super nice. The Shrimp Bisque and Gumbo we had for appetizers were great. They had fresh bread & butter on the table while we waited for our food. We were pleasantly surprised to find one of our favorite wines at a reasonable price! I had blackened shrimp with a loaded baked potato and fried okra. My friend had the special of the day, which was swordfish and pepper jack cheese grits. Key lime pie to top it all off! My bf, his dad, and I came here for dinner on a weekday, and it was pretty crowded after we got a table. The service was still very good. I greatly enjoyed my sweet potato fries and linguini which I substituted with chicken instead of the seafoods. My bf's dad had the poboy which looked delicious. My bf had the grouper which he really enjoyed. They said the oysters were very dry and didn't taste that great though. It was also disappointing that they were out of desserts. read more

What a hidden gem! This place may not look like much but you will get some incredible food and may need to make reservations two days in advance! All of my friends recommended this place. We showed up without reservations, first problem. The wait was over an hour and a half, there wasn't much room to wait out on the patio and it was quite cold that night. After finally being called, we were seated near a corner of the restaurant next to two air conditioning vents. My wife, daughter, and I were freezing so they covered the vents with empty food trays. The food was fairly good, but for the price I can think of two to three restaurants in the area that serve just as tasty food for quite a bit less. All in all, it was not a pleasant experience, but perhaps it was a fluke night. I will give it another go after a couple of months. read more

Excellent dining experience! I love going to this restaurant because of the fabulous, eclectic food and the customer friendly servers. Our adorable and knowledgable server, Dean, easily made confidant recommendations and never hurried us as we made our culinary decisions. The atmosphere is casual and happy while the menu is anything but bland! The owner is New Orleans born and brings with him the best of Cajun and creole! Slightly expensive, you get more than what you pay for! The abundant servings are picturesque and artful! I ordered Crabcakes over Fried Green Tomatoes and then all served atop mashed Yukon Gold Potatoes. Yummy! Another in my group ordered Pecan Crusted Grouper with Yukon Gold Potatoes and Spinach, topped with a Honey Pecan Sauce; another had Snapper over Jambalaya with Asparagus ...topped with a Creamy Crayfish Sauce.
