Been coming here since late March and have fast become a regular customer getting a dinner meal almost every week. The Grilled Salmon with house spices or the Hawaiian Barbeque Chicken dinners are a great value because I can share one meal between me and my wife. There are two portions of protein with each dinner and the chicken slabs are quite generous. The grilled zucchini and steam vegetables are great side dishes along with the brown rice option. I sometimes get the bbq chicken misubi or katsu chicken misubi as an extra bite for our dinners. Tried the talapia dinner once and that was too plain and the filet portions were smaller. Ask for tartar sauce or katsu sauce as they have these prepared in little containers for take-out. Update 05/12/2023 - the Katsu Chicken Dinner is also excellent and a very good value - ordered this for our son and he thoroughly enjoyed it! Holy onions, batman! The Hawaiian BBQ chicken was delicious, and the garlic bread was on point. But the macaroni salad had WAY too many onions. We've been coming here for years (mostly the original Redwood City location that is now closed). Was totally stoked to find that they have other locations in the Bay Area. My all time favorite here is the salmon taco, which is flakey and juicy, with a flavorful mango salsa dressing. The taco just melts in your mouth! The kids favorite is the chicken tenders, which is made with just the right amount of breading and while made with white meat, still manages to be tender. The hubby's always orders the fish wrap which is made with a combination of mahi mahi and salmon. The wrap is delicious and big. A fairly new place near home, my friend and I were craving a healthy fish based meal. It's near the Chipotle, or for those more old school, the Michael's. Parking was quite reasonable even during pime dinner time on a weekend. My friend ordered the salmon bowl and I the tilapia bowl. His salmon was on the smaller side and his bowl cost more than mine (lol). He enjoyed it overall but personally, I'd want more fish. I ordered with brown rice which was decently cooked (I prefer more water when it's cooked for a softer texture, but at least it wasn't undercooked). Good amount of tilapia which was composed of thinner slices but enough for a light, healthy meal. Good flavor and crispiness. Veggies were alright, nothing special but nothing particularly off-putting. Not craving to back but a reasonable place for a lighter, healthy meal. I borrowed a laminated menu in lieu of peering up at the menu board similar to typical fast food places. Order, accept a number, and they'll bring the food out to your table. I noticed an organized mix of booths, high tops, regular tables, and outdoor seating. They'll clean up the table after, please consider tipping. Nonexistent AT&T phone signal in this plaza! Grr I couldn't even check what other Yelpers recommended. I got a grilled shrimp taco and a mahi taco a la carte, $3.50 each. 2 taco combos include fries and a drink for $10. Everything is cooked after ordering so it took at least 10 min before the cashier brought over my food and utensils. Super hungry at that point-- I demolished my tacos! The shrimp was oh so good: 4 grilled pieces atop cabbage, carrots, tomato, cubed mango, a bit of jalapeño, and house cream sauce. The mahi slices were sized right but I didn't like the cuts too much. I prefer firmer fish. Might try the swai (mixed white fish) taco next time, along with a tilapia bowl or plate with garlic butter sauce! I absolutely love this place. I've never had a bad meal here. My parents usually get salmon or barramundi with steamed veg and a salad. You can choose the spices you want added. It's always delicious. The calamari and fries are also delicious. The fries are always very crispy. The star for me every time is the grilled shrimp wrap. It's basically the contents of a shrimp taco but in burrito form: shrimp, rice, and mango salsa. It's AMAZING. A little spicy, and the shrimp Is always perfectly cooked. And they're not skimpy with the shrimp either, it's always large shrimp and there is one in every bite. I want to give a massive shout out to the nice bald man who I think is the owner. Sometimes he's there by himself and he takes orders and then goes into the kitchen to cook the food. I've had the salmon and tilapia bowl, it literally had me pondering, could I eat this everyday and the answer was a resounding yes. I honestly can't say if the fish could've been cooked any better, sure you can mix different flavors/seasonings and all but my one issue with seafood is it's tendency to be very dry, you won't have that issue here. The plate comes with a choice of seasoning for the fish and two sides; I chose the lemon pepper seasoning and garlic bread and mac salad. The tilapia came on some cut cabbage and a slice of lemon. The fish was really juicy and well-seasoned, but I think the lemon pepper seasoning was a little too lemon-y for my taste (it's probably actually because I squeezed some more lemon juice over it though heh). The garlic bread was really crunchy, too, and not hard to bite into. The mac salad was also good, but I think the portioning was a little bit too much. I'm surprised that I even finished it. I didn't have any sampling of my friends' orders (other than some fries--which were hellaaa bomb), so I can't really make a comment. But, I'm just going to put this out here: my friend destroyed his fish wrap probably within like 5 minutes so. I stopped by Fish's Wild for lunch today. First time. I had never heard of this restaurant. Fish's Wild offers both grilled and fried seafood. I ate the Swai, which is a white fish often caught in the waters near Vietnam and I liked the taste. The fish portion was large. The meal comes with two sides - I chose a salad and garlic bread. I really enjoyed the taste of the garlic bread - they serve it so the bread is soft and I found that I prefer that to the typical harder garlic bread served in other restaurants. The Swai fish, as well as others, are served with the customers choice of preparations/seasoning - I chose garlic butter. Customers order and pay for food at the front counter. The counter employee was cordial, welcoming, and helpful. The interior is pleasant though casual. Customers can eat inside, outside, or order pick up. The place is a little hard to locate. It is at the opposite end of the shopping center where Safeway is located. The most direct entrance is to turn onto Forge Way then the first left into the shopping center. Fish's Wild is immediately on the left. There is plenty of free street level parking, but that parking lot is busy. Warning: the online menu that I found today (May 27, 2022) had prices that are much lower than the actual prices; that is, the price we pay today is dollars above the online menu that I found. read more

Intro: While this is a restaurant that primarily serves fish and seafood, we decided to order takeout from here because we all were craving katsu for dinner. I was skeptical at first but I was pleasantly surprised! Getting There: There is ample parking as the restaurant is located next to a huge parking lot. Food: I have tried a lot of katsu restaurants and among them, this restaurant is pretty good. We ordered several orders of the Chicken Katsu. For the sides, we tried different ones: brown rice, steamed veggies, grilled zucchini, and fries. The katsu was very tasty and it came perfectly cooked. The sauce was the highlight, in my opinion. Sweet, tangy and delicious with no unpleasant aftertaste. The steamed veggies are an excellent choice if you want some greens and / or avoid carbs. Another reason you might want to order the steamed veggies is since everything else, including the brown rice, is seasoned. Because of this some people might find the entire meal salty as there isn't really anything neutral to balance out the flavors. The fries are crispy and seasoned well. Nothing spectacular that stands out but definitely not bad. But I'd say my favorite side is the grilled zucchini. Very tasty as the zucchini was not overly cooked, which I find a lot of restaurants making the mistake of doing. Price wise, I'd say this is a pretty average in terms of what you might expect in the area. Picking certain sides, obviously, is more "worth it" in terms of price than others but honestly, if you're going out to eat, you should eat what you want! Final Say (tl;dr): Definitely not the first choice that comes to mind when thinking about chicken katsu but if you're close by, give it a try. While it may not be super "authentic" it is very tasty at a reasonable price. read more

Awesome casual spot for affordable and delicious seafood! Definitely recommend giving them a try if you haven't before. I was honestly impressed by their prices! Most places don't sell decent seafood at this price. Here, the usual seafood combos were $11-13 each and comes with 2 big pieces of whatever fish you ordered, plus 2 side orders (you can choose from fries, steamed veggies, green salad, grilled zucchini, and white or brown rice). I recommend the grilled zucchini because it was 2 huge strips and super flavorful! We tried both the salmon and mahi mahi combos ($12.99 each) and they were both amazing. Fish was tender and juicy, and complemented with great seasoning choices (which include: cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper or house). The garlic butter seasoning was delicious, but definitely heavier and richer than the house seasoning. They also have a few bowl specials for only $6.49! We got one of the tilapia bowls and it came with 4-5 pieces of tilapia on top of a bed of white rice and steamed vegetables - a steal for that price! There's also a variety of other things on the menu, like wraps, tacos, kids menu, fried, etc. Lots of clean and modern seating and you can also order to go (or have them deliver). It was definitely fried chicken but wasn't oily or greasy at all, nor was there any fatty pieces of meat. My meal came with two sides so I ordered rice and zucchini. The meal itself was a huge portion; and that too, for $8.99! Yay for leftovers. The food here isn't fast food at all. It seems like it's made-to-order and tastes fresh! The place was packed when we came in for dinner but the employees were quick to clear up tables. It was good and slightly healthy food (minus the fried part). Super fresh, simple and delicious fish! I'm constantly craving grilled shrimp, and since all the apartment BBQs are closed due to COVID Fish's Wild has been my shrimp hookup lately. My husband loves the chicken katsu plate, which is huge and always smells amazing. The fish tacos (all varieties) have an amazing mango salsa atop them, and no weird fishy aftertaste. Maddy is the person who rings us up and is the most kindest sweetest person. She is always so helpful and me and my coworker go back on days she works because she's always so kind and makes our experience that much better with her service. Love this place!! Affordable and it's my go-to on my lunch breaks. The reason they lost my 5th star is because some of their workers lack excellent customer service. One in particular, Winne L., really gave me the worst attitude over an issue that could've been easily resolved. But this worker, Winne, wasn't having it with me! Fish's Wild is a no frills restaurant, which caters to the busy people of Silicon Valley by delivering fresh, and healthy fish options. Go here if you need a quick meal for the family and want to grab something fast on the go. I ordered my delicious fish (with so many delicious sauce options) and was eating it within 20 minutes from the time I picked it up. One bit of feedback, it would be great to see less plastic containers when ordering take out. We had so much container waste for three people that it made me want to bring in my own reusable containers. There has to be a more environmentally friendly way to deliver food.
