Loco Moco: Snake River Farms Wagyu Beef Patty w/ fried egg, steamed rice, mushroom gravy ($26)
    Cherylynn N.

Roy's alum. A big ass spoon and fork on the wall. Cozy, diner vibes. You know the Loco Moco is going to be BOMB! We were in the area and GOGA Restaurant came on Yelp as being TT friendly so we made last minute rezzies for brunch (a must). M E N U Hawaiian and AZN fusion cuisine. Dinner: 4-course menu for $98 and weekend only brunch. F O O D * Loco Moco: Snake River Farms Wagyu Beef Patty w/ fried egg, steamed rice, mushroom gravy ($26) A mound of perfectly cooked, slightly sticky short grain rice topped with a rich, meaty beef patty (cooked medium) with a nice seared crust and smothered in a deeply flavorful and umami-rich gravy. The slightly runny yolk added an extra layer of creamy richness. So hearty and deliciously satisfying. * Smoked Salmon Benedict w/ poached eggs, english muffin, hollandaise, hash brown ($27) Not mine but it looked underwhelming. Dining companion requested scrambled eggs (weirdo) instead of poached eggs and it was very wet...not in a soft scrambled kinda way. For the price, I was surprised that the hashbrown was one of those industrial patties. S E R V I C E Friendly. It's a one man show in the kitchen so food does take awhile (~30 minutes). A M B I A N C E Casual diner vibes with six tables and counter seating. Overall, excellent Loco Moco and probably the best I've had in the bay since 'āina in the city closed. GET IT!

We dined here tonight with another family and unfortunately left pretty disappointed, especially given the $93 per person prix fixe price. The meal felt very disjointed and lacked the cohesion and execution you would expect at that price point. The courses included a scallop cut in half, a very bitter salad, egg noodles with a chicken thigh and unusual mushrooms in what was described as a masala sauce, and tiramisu for dessert. The tiramisu appeared to be a large pan dessert that had been cut into very small slices and drizzled with Hershey's syrup, which felt out of place for a restaurant charging nearly $100 per person. Service was prompt, but overall the experience felt more like a home cooked dinner than a professionally run restaurant. At a $40-$60 price point this might feel more understandable, but at $93 per person the food and overall execution simply wasn't good. I'm sharing this so others know what to expect before booking.

Holy crap! This place blew my mind! My fiance surprised me with Valentine's Day dinner here. They had a prefix menu which featured scallops, cod, and steak. Let's not forget the tiramisu. Every single course was amazing and I'm not even a seafood person. I definitely need to come here again, the food was not only incredible but the people were really kind. Is this guy not a Michelin chef? Shout out to chef Brad.

We love this place! Small intimate place nestled in Saratoga. Chef Brad makes a really great meal. With his expertise in Asian fusion Hawaiian cooking he is a master at fresh fish and palate pleasing faire like poke, seared ahi and fresh scallops. I highly recommend Goga. You will love it! It's so good! Come for brunch or dinner. They also have a wine list but bring your own wine too.

So glad I picked this place to go to before a show at The Mountain Winery. Was very excited when we realized it's a weekly rotating 4 course tasting menu. Any chance we can just sit down and a Chef treats us to their best we get excited. Across the board great flavors and textures. Our courses ranged from Scandinavian to Japanese to Italian and were all done very well. When each flavor compliments each other you can't go wrong in my book. Throw in some textural contrast and you've got satisfying dishes every time. Can't wait to visit again knowing that the menu changes weekly!

100% I will be returning and bringing friends. I loved that GOGA was hidden because it truly is a gem. We were immediately sat down by their kind staff. Cute, clean menu full of upscale sweet and savory dishes. We ordered a black coffee, a caramel latte, the French toast, a Loco Moco, and the scallops. ALL YUMMY! Enjoy when you go!

Came here for a friend's birthday and had really high expectations for this place. Once you find the restaurant, the place is charming with the feel of a small bistro. This is a two person operation with the chef cooking and the other expediting and serving. The person waiting on us was charming and nice. The first course was a seared tuna appetizer and it did not disappoint, it was cooked very well and the sauce was quite tasty with a little zing 8/10. Next was the poached prawn Caesar salad, and this was a big miss for me. The salad itself was fine but the prawn was diced up and it didn't even add up to a whole prawn! It was a small salad too 4.5/10. The main course was Wagyu with potato truffle corn sauce. The Wagyu was cooked well, but the potatoes were ice cold. I did send the lobster butter potatoes back and they refried it and the. It was actually pretty amazing. The chef said they didn't have a way to keep the food hot and it got cold because we were a large party of 9. The portion was pretty small, but tasted good 7/10. The dessert was tiramisu, which tasted fine, but for a $95 tasting menu, I'd expect the presentation to be much nicer6.5/10. Overall it was an ok experience but I didn't feel the price matched what we got. The chef definitely knows how to cook though. If they can work out the minor issues and pricing I may come back for a second chance.

Found this hidden gem in the Saratoga area. It's tucked away in a small passage behind the UPS Store, which made it a little hard to find. The restaurant has very limited seating and feels quite cozy and homey. We came here for brunch and walked in right at opening time. The menu is à la carte and offers a variety of classic brunch dishes inspired by Californian-Asian cuisine. We ordered three dishes to share: seared rare tuna sashimi with wasabi potato salad, American wagyu steak and fries, and an ahi poke bowl. The salad was our favorite. The tuna had great texture and was perfectly seared on the outside. The wasabi added a refreshing element, and the crispy potato fries contributed an extra layer of texture. It was a very well-balanced and thoughtfully crafted dish. The steak was cooked beautifully as well and paired perfectly with the truffle mushroom sauce.

One of those "secret" places you seem to find out only by word of mouth and it is worth the "find". Very small place with 24 seats (hint make reservation) is very laid back atmosphere (read: time to be patient). Brunch menu is awesome... loco moco, cheeseburger (worthy of The Menu), poke, scallops, coffee cake, and lots of ala cart options for brunch. Dinner is pretty much prix fixe with one choice of 4 course menu that changes weekly. Wine selection is very respectable. In a nutshell it is awesome...

We recently had dinner here and it was so tasty and such an enjoyable experience! The folks running the place are super friendly and attentive - no empty water glasses here! We had five lovely courses, each unique and delicious, and so well thought out. The sear on the tuna was even all around and so thin, and the scallops were *perfection*. And while I'm not the biggest chocolate person, I was blown away by the balance of flavors and textures in the chocolate cake served for dessert. At the end of the meal we were contentedly full, not overly stuffed. They have a pretty decent wine list for such a small place, and we loved the pinot noir we chose. They change the menu frequently, but if you call and ask, they will text the current one to you. They also mentioned, with a little notice, they can make pescatarian/vegetarian substitutions where needed. We will definitely be back for dinner, and want to try brunch too!

Really enjoyed every bite here at GOGA! GOGA burger had fried onion in it, adding extra crispiness with fresh lettuce. Buns are very soft and give nice scent of butter. My partner said its the best burger he had so far. Loco moco was great - Gravy tasted better than ones I tried at Hawaii :-) And extra spice from white pepper made everything nicer! Coconut pudding(Haupia) was also very good. Its not a hard pudding, its very creamy and has a strong coconut flavor. We enjoyed Tuna tataki here too - we liked how its served with spicy sauce instead of soy sauce based sauce which is often served with. Chef was very friendly, checking every table and sharing stories :-) Its very accessible if you park at Saratoga public parking lot. If you're entering from main street, you'd be able to find standing sign in front of UPS store. There's extra credit card processing fee on top of menu price. I think price is bit high, but my partner thinks all the foods worth every penny. So I'll leave this up to you :-)

I don't want to write about both restaurants on the Flowers page but I think it's worth calling out that the service / hospitality and craftsmanship for both food and drink in both restaurants are standout. For drinks, we ordered the Flowers Old Fashioned and Cantarito. For the Cantarito, I loved the tart passion fruit with the slight carbonation of the grapefruit soda--this was definitely my kind of drink! For food, we shared everything: tuna wonton tacos, prawn cigars, duck with risotto, scallops, and brussel sprouts. This was the perfect amount of food, as we left full and satisfied but not stuffed. The tuna wonton tacos had a good amount of tuna, and had a such a punch of (well-balanced) flavors; I loved the touch of heat. The duck was also incredibly tender with a crispy outside, and I think the natural fattiness / oiliness of the duck paired well with the relatively sharp, Parmesan flavor of the risotto. I also enjoyed the flavors and sauces with the other dishes but those two aforementioned were my favorite. Lastly, the bread pudding for dessert was excellent! It was the perfect size to share, and I loved the various crunchy "garnishes", from the graham cracker crumbs to the caramelized sugar piece and the little chocolate balls. Will definitely come back again to try more of the menu!

The portions were small and comfortable for 2 people. The lobster tail was tasty and the steak bites were tender; both meals were delicious. The meals were on the pricey side. The servers were nice to us. The restaurant is cozy and pretty quiet. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a new place to try out in Saratoga.

AMAZING! So fluffy and hot-- everything you'd want in a pancake. I don't like ricotta much, especially on pizza, but they make it so smooth like a liquid icing but creamy yellow with yuzu essence. They're known for these for a reason. Corn ribs were DELICIOUS! Buttery and savory with a creamy aioli dip. I ate three pieces and could've eaten more. *Could've Been Better: Chicken noodle tomyum soup barely had any shredded chicken. Maybe some chopped chicken cubes would've worked out. It had typical noodles for chicken soup. It was also not sour or spicy like typical tomyum. All sweet and tomatoey. Tofu Scramble needed more seasoning? Potatoes were good. I should've tried the house marmalade on the bread. They keep some in the little jar on the table. Darla French Toast was excellently executed. Picturesque. It tasted more like bread pudding, slightly undercooked in the middle and would've been great with a crisp exterior for texture contrast. Service was fine with polite smiles. They leave you alone for the most part. Little vase of flowers is an adorable touch. There is parking in the back but good luck on weekends. Great place to walk around and explore local shops.

TLDR: Top 5 pork chops…read more So, my wife loves pork chops. For her birthday, I decided to find a place with good chops. It was a bit tougher than expected. I wanted a restaurant that serves nice THICK pork chops, grilled to perfection. Seems like a lot of them are located around Los Gatos... So here we are, for her special day! The best porkchop she's had in California was in Half Moon Bay. Unfortunately, I think the restaurant has closed... It was called Cetrella. But Asa might have the second best pork chop she's ever had. And so, since Cetrella has closed, this has become the new de-facto best porkchop! For that reason, this place gets 5 stars. I had a bit of it. It was cooked so well, white flesh all around, no pink at all. I think it was grilled and not sous-vide because she's had it done SV style and it still wass pink in the middle, even though it was all "thoroughly cooked". But despite the well-done, it was still juicy and soft! Pork is SOOO Easy to get dry. And especially since this is a thick chop. It was great! And no sauce... just an herb rub. I ordered the steak... it was cooked well. I've had better, and I generally prefer rib-eye over New York. But it wasn't bad at all. Just a little chewier than I would have liked. Plus $50 for a 12 oz, seemed a bit steep. I'd rather have ordered the pork chop. We also ordered the Chili Fries, which were a little too salty. But the taste was really good, and the fries were crunchy. If you dip them in the aioli, it's not as salty. For special occasions, my wife likes to treat herself to a cocktail. She really liked the Peach Punch with the Clarified Milk. It had a heavy dose of rum, and not too sweet. Plus it looked very pretty! We had 3 desserts! The basque cheesecake was ok... it looked deflated on one side, so it didn't look that appetizing. The taste was ok, it's not my favorite type of cheesecake... too airy for my taste. Almost like a souffle. I really enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies though! Freshly baked, huge and gooey. It was definitely worth the $15 for the 4 cookies. Worthy of some of the best bakeries I've been to! Finally, for her birthday celebration, the restaurant gave my wife a complimentary cocktail ice cream. It's kinda funny, she could really taste the alcohol, whereas all I could taste was the banana. But we both agreed it was a great ice cream. She hates ice cream and she still finished almost a third of it! The ambiance is a bit loud. Not a romantic atmosphere, but it's not a club atmosphere either. The service was great... the waiter and busboys were super attentive to us, even though the place was pretty packed. The host was also super friendly. Highly recommend this place! The one bad thing about this is, since it's attached to the Best Western, it's hard to find parking. Most places say it's for hotel parking only, so you'd have to generally park on the street, unless you get really lucky and find a non-hotel parking spot in the lot.

After years of wanting to come here, I'm happy to report that Asa lived up to the hype that I…read morecreated in my head. Food, service, and ambiance were all great! To eat three of us shared some apps, mains, and desserts. We started with the Mixed greens and heirloom beets salad and Delicata squash, then got the Mushroom pasta and Argentinian steak, and finished with the Molten chocolate bomb and Basque style cheesecake. The starters were good, they just weren't my first choice, there were others on the seafood section that I wanted to try more, but that's a reason to go back. Both entrées were great, the steak was cooked perfectly with the most delicious chimichurri, and I couldn't get enough of the mushroom pasta. I would get either of these again. I was still a little hungry after the food, but that left room for dessert and not leaving the restaurant uncomfortably stuffed. We brought our own bottle of wine but also got cocktails there. I didn't like my cocktail very much, but everyone else liked thiers, and I tried a sip of the martini and really liked that. They did have a pretty massive wine selection, so very easy to find something you'll like. We made fairly last minute reservations the day before we wanted to go, three of us looked and all got different availability options on open table, but luckily it allowed me to book. The only option was the covered outdoor patio on what was a very intense rainy night, but that patio is sturdy and rain resistant. It was filled with heaters and stayed very warm, if I weren't sat right next to the opening I wouldn't have been able to tell it was raining.
