They charge their yearly membership fee every July which they don't tell you when you sign up. So if you signed up in July, you'll still get charged the $50. - The parking lot is always full and may find hard time looking for one. - I've had nothing but negative experience and will never recommend it to family and friends. read more

Just called to cancel from this circus of a gym and was given the run around about policy and procedure for cancellation. They require 30 days notice by certified mail so that they can still bill you at minimum 1 more time. When I told her it would be much easier to just stop payment as Fitness Connection vendor on account she told me the last bill would go to collections. haha! $10.95? Seriously! This is a month to month membership and I owe no money. I paid 1st and last month plus initiation fee to start so my last month should be the $10.95 I pre-paid. This gym definitely symbolizes "you get what you pay for." For $10 a month, all you can really ask for is that it's clean and a variety of equipment- which they offer. The classes they offer are great and surprise- they even offer a sauna! But paying that little for a month comes with some misfortunes too. 1.Mailing in a letter to cancel a membership.. I think they do this so they can gyp another month fee out of you or prolong your cancellation. 2. The studio room is only open for classes... Other then that- locked. WHYYYYY!? 3. I took my 5 stars down to 3. The reason why is because I have found at many other big gyms like F.C - they have an open studio for dancers to practice their techniques, and improve their skills. For some reason, management locks the studio after classes, which is ridiculous. There is a full basketball court, but no where for dancers to practice! I was out of their location for over 5months and I did call in to notify them, I was requested to turn in a certified letter, first time at the end of that month I got charged on membership bill , I called them back they said they didn't see my mail . Fitness Connection is the WORST!! The gyms are DIRTY the equipment is old & ragged & the employees are RUDE! You have to go through leaps & bonds to cancel. Took me almost an hour on line before I found a good number to call & try to cancel. Was given another number & left on hold for 30 mins before the rudest lady Jamira answered. NO HELP AT ALL!! Anthony Tate signed me up, and advised me to put $10 dollars down and to pay the remaining within 30 days to give me some time to think about joining. Never did he explain that I would be charged $32 maintenance fee, 30 day written cancellation notice and that the remaining balance would be withdrawed from my account prematurely. I have tried to close this account for over 2 years I still get charged for 2 memberships as well as 2 annual fees of 19.95 each. Mind you I have not stepped foot in my local location in Arlington Texas for over 4 years. I didn't even realize I was still getting charged until I added and app that shows you reoccurring charges you may not know you are charged each month. I noticed the basketball court on the website and that is what led me to go check out the gym today. I got there and an employee told me I couldn't have access to the gym unless I was a member. I respect the policy and understand but just would of liked to see that listed where the 5 day free trial info was so I would have known not to come. I gave 3-stars because the gym looked nice but because I wasn't allowed to experience the gym I ended up leaving. I went in to the gym to cancel back in december when i got a new debit card to cancel and i was told to go on the website and cancel which i did. NOW i am being hit up for 3 months where i didnt even attend this gym and was under the impression that i canceled. All the emails and phone numbers they give you to contact corporate or anyone else in charge are all FAKE, they dont work or are not even listed. Its 2018 no one does letters. I just LOVE waking up to three $38 fees hitting my account when it was never disclosed to me that I would be charged an annual membership fee. I'm sure it was in the fine print somewhere but it is unethical and dishonest to not be upfront about it. And if you think the word "refund" is in this company's vocabulary, think again. Once they get ahold of your money, they have a vice grip and will not give it back. So I decided I will cancel one of the three memberships I pay for and I'm told that to cancel it I have to give a 30-day WRITTEN notice. I'm sorry, what? We live in 2017! So I am instructed to write out on a piece of paper that I want to cancel and explain why. Then I need to get an envelope and stamp to mail it to them. The cancellation policy sucks. You have to mail a letter requesting cancellation and with that they tell you another payment will be taken out because they require 30 day notice. So I mailed a letter December 7, 2017 and I called today (January 8, 2018) to see if the letter had been received. The representative told me to send another letter but send it certified to show that it has been received. As far as I'm concerned they may have gotten the first letter but to take another payment (because it wasn't sent certified) this is what they suggest. I call in to ask about a guest pass and due to the front desk being busy I get transferred to the back department. The manager quinten answers the phone very bothered sounding and when I proceed to answer my question I get hung up on... I call back right away maybe due to it being a mistake or error and I get transferred back there again to no avail get the phone hung up in my face by the same person. If the management is terrible of course the workers will be terrible, all I say is 1/100 stars due to poor service and management. read more

Very nice gym. Has all the equipment you need for a good workout. There are plenty of squat racks and deadlift area for all your legs and back breaking needs. I think they just put in a powerlifting station that's looks pretty cool. The staff here are very friendly. The sale rep Roberto was very nice and knowledgeable when I signed up. If you want to sign up here, I recommend waiting for their 50$ down 10$/month deal or else you'll be paying a lot. There is a 40$ annual fee that they charge so make sure you ask about that. read more

My daughter has been trying to cancel her membership for 4 months. Per the Fitness Connection mandate, she mailed in her cancellation request. After she was charged again, we went by the gym. They told her they could not talk to her about cancelling, it had to be done in writing and here is a number to call. We called the number and it went straight to voicemail. She left a message and got a call back next day. They said they had not received her letter and suggested she send a certified letter. My daughter did not understand what a certified letter was so she just sent a second letter. After being charged yet again, she finally mentioned "certified letter" to me and I told her what that was. She had sent a 3rd letter by this time, but she sent the 4th one certified. Although they "never received" the first 3, magically they acknowledged receipt of the 4th letter. This 4th letter finally cancelled her account, by as is FC policy, she would still be charged for an additional month of membership she is not using. Today my daughter got the "final call" from Fitness Connection saying if she did not pay $123.12 it would go on her credit report. Fitness Connection has a record of her phone call with my daughter saying, "I'm sending letters and I'm trying to cancel." Despite this, she was still being charged monthly, charged late fees and another annual "fee" (which somehow FC says is not a renewal). The only reason they are not still pulling money out of her account without her permission is because she closed that bank account. Two phone calls to FC today. One rep said, "We checked our mail for the date your daughter said she mailed her letter because sometimes we do not see those...but we did not find anything." Wait, what? You are admitting you get mail that you don't "see"?? Both reps said they would check to see if a supervisor was available when I asked for one, but both told me the supervisor would not help me. Left two voicemails for the supervisor and neither one has led to a returned call. I am not a "go online and blast a company" person. Check the BBB for yourself or Google "Fitness Connection cancellation problems". Everything they did to my daughter they have done to others. Lastly, when my daughter went to the post office to mail her certified letter, the mail lady said, "That address looks familiar. Where is this going?" Once my daughter told her, the mail lady said, "Oh, this happens to people all the time". Like I said, investigate for yourself. My daughter is not the only one they have done this to. read more

While the facility itself in Arlington is adequate enough to work out in, the membership services leave something to be desired of. I signed up with the ten dollar a month plan and thought everything should be fine. Two months later, I get slapped with a forty dollar annual fee, no prior notice or anything. Okay, fine, I'd like to cancel it then, since I'd be heading back to school shortly. Turns out, I have to write in a letter to some location in Houston of all places, and many others who have also tried to cancel it this way have complained that nothing gets done months after they've sent their letters in. This archaic system is designed to entrap consumers and make them go through hell and high water in order to cancel their memberships, and even then, full cancellation isn't guaranteed. I will try to send in one more letter, since my patience is still holding, but any other surprise charges, and I'll be filing a complaint with the BBB as well. read more

This gym is a great gym. Very spacious and has a lot of amenities. You definitely get your money's worth!! The only down side is that it can be packed at times but then you just have to learn the times that it is empty.
