Staff I've been able to talk to if I can catch someone in the office, tells me corporate dictates what classes are offered--they (or should I say "we") have no voice. Before Covid I went 7 days a week for morning yoga, weight and spin classes. Only a couple weight classes in the morning now. Re entry remodeled --dark and gloomy. Added facilities for more $$$. Fitness Connection shares your info with a third party when you sign up. " Elevate Fitness Coaching". It's a complete scam. They convinced me to sign up for one on one coaching sessions, which sounded great at first. I am a busy mom and wanted a little direction as i got back into the gym. Well - I was ghosted on my 1st AND 3rd training sessions. NO CALL, THEY JUST DIDNT SHOW UP. On my second ( missed) session, they even confirmed the appointment 2 hours prior. Now I'm trying to end the contract and it's an absolute nightmare. They want like $400 to end the contract, and they want me to pay for the session that THEY missed. They have repeatedly tried to charge my card fraudulently. Anyways- it sucks because the gym is pretty big. It just seems like they partake in deceiving business practices. I'll be reporting them to the BBB. OH! And let me save you some time- they charge $100 an hour for coaching sessions. ZERO STARS- Fitness Connection- please have Elevate email me back. If I would've read Google, or AI reviews before joining, I would've saved myself a huge headache and time! This is the worst gym I've ever joined in my entire life. The customer service is the rudest ever! From the corporate office down to the front desk staff. Corporate office never answers their phones, the 800-922-7898 number, you will be on hold for over two hours! The front desk cannot cancel your membership, they'll make you come in to talk to a manager. It was a horrible experience. And once you try to cancel, get ready for some hidden fees! not only will they charge you for an extra 30 days, they'll also charge you what the corporate office told me was, a Cancellation fee! Save yourself some time and headaches and join planet fitness they are just as cheap, and their customer service is much better. I have been a member of Fitness Connection ( FC ) on Forest in Dallas, Texas for two years. The gym and staff is great. However, a business called Elevate Fitness Coaching rents space there. It is my understanding that it used to belong to FC but that it was separated into another department or company. I was approached via phone soon after I upgraded my membership with FC. I received at least 2 phone calls from different persons offering a free fitness training session. I agreed and made my appointment for May 21,2025. Marcus Johnson met me and he trained me for 30 minutes. He then offered me a package to get personal training. What he told/sold me verbally and wrote down on a piece of paper he kept was very different than the contract ( which I finally read after a charge of $120.00 on June 4, 2025 was made. I had not read the contract because I trusted Marcus and the gym where he was conducting business. I paid $289.00 and that included a start fee of $49 which I asked Marcus to waive. He said he would try to get his supervisor to waive it. I explained to Marcus that I was retired and on a fixed income. I explained what I wanted and what I could afford. He said I could cancel the contract at any point I wanted and did not advise me there would be an early termination fee of $660. He said 30 day notice was required. I told him I just wanted a month of training. The $240 was supposed to give me 8 sessions for $30.00 each. He halved the amount of the sessions ( was $60 ) and we agreed on 2 sessions per week. I had barely gotten 2 sessions and was charged $120 as mentioned above. I emailed elevate fitness coaching and specifically asked to cancel my subscription. I spoke to Marcus who denied what he had told me to get me to sign the contract 8 sessions for $30 then $120 every 2 weeks for 4 sessions, etc. On June 18, 2025 my credit card was charged another $120. I was barely halfway with my first 4 sessions. I emailed elevate fitness coaching once again asking I be refunded the 2 charges of $120.00 and again informed them I was mislead in signing the contract. It took 3 weeks to get emailed back and I was informed by them that I can give notice to cancel and pay early termination fee $660. The business has no physical address or phone number. There is a local business with similar name and they get called all the time according to them. I can't even find it in the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to file a complaint. I've discussed the situation with my credit card company which has taken appropriate steps to dispute these charges. It is my hope that this review can prevent anyone from falling prey to this scam. Read the contract before signing to see if it matches what you were told by Marcus or anyone other salesperson. I couldn't even write a review for Elevate Fitness Connection because it wasn't found on YELP website. I would advise the gym to take this review seriously because business is being conducted on their property that is misleading their customers and can negatively impact their business reputation. I recently started at this location via my Medicare plan - Silver Sneakers. I have no issues with the facility. Like any chain gym, there are lot of machines, free weights, classes, etc. The place so far has been reasonably clean and friendly staff. Like all gyms I've noticed a few machines not in working order for close to 2 weeks now but there are plenty more of that particular type of machine so no big issue. There is no staff walking around to assist you. I fell there about a week ago over one the long bars that aligns the machines. No one came to help or to inquire if I was ok. Just a customer on the same machine that I had been using stopped her routine and asked once I finally got back up. So, you are on your own here. What is a big issue is this Elevate Fitness Coaching which is a company that is there to sell you a contract for a personal trainer. Don't fall for it. As a senior I did fall for it because I took them at their word that you could cancel at anytime. I even told them I was on a fixed income and could not afford a large amount. I was repeatedly told I could cancel at anytime. When I did cancel within 30 days, I was sent back an email stating I should have cancelled within 3 days and now I owe them 690.00 plus continued session payments for the next 30 days despite that I cancelled my sessions with a trainer over a week earlier. Despite complaining to the sales representative about what he said vs the contract that I did not receive until after I signed, NOTHING has been done to help correct this. It will end up costing me 1000.00 by the time this 30 day notice ends. Therefore I highly suggest to not get trapped in a contract with Elevate Fitness Coaching within Fitness Connection. Do not take their free fitness evaluation. It is all designed to get you to sign without going over all the details and consequences of their contract. And shame on Fitness Connection for allowing this to be going on in facility. read more

If you are looking for a gym with a variety of workout equipment this is the place to workout..But, you need to have your gym clothes on because you are not going to want to change in the ladies room.. I've mentioned to the front desk associates and the manager about the uncleanness of the ladies room... I've even personally cleaned the dressing room so i could change. The dressing rooms for the ladies are constantly nasty. Booty prints, shoe prints, oily residue are always on the red sitting tables. I don't care what time I come they are never clean. read more

I made a walk in cancellation the day I was told I could cancel and turns out the guy working here did not process my cancellation that day as he was told and I was charged the yearly fee plus a monthly fee because he failed to cancel my membership. Called customer service to see what happened and turns out he never cancelled it and said there was nothing he could do. Bad customer service, both on the phone and in person. Walked in there, you can smell everything is NEW. The equipments are not only new, they are the latest version when compared to other older gym. As of right now, it is probably the best Fitness connection gym. Due to the location, Traffics can be challenging depend on the time of day you visit. read more

I am more than happy with Fitness Connection - Mesquite. I entered the year with the same resolution to go hard and get fit, but in an effort to do it, I over-did it, got dehydrated and fainted during a workout. Anthony, the manager at this location was showed the greatest of concern about me as a person and not me as a patron. Although he could not keep me from driving home, Anthony recommended I call someone to pick me up. I took his advice, called a family member, and I'm so glad I listened because I might not have made it safely. Had it not been for the concern of Anthony, there is no telling what could have happened. Anthony represents Fitness Connection very, very well. Thus one is NICE! Like extremely nice. Everything is new and shiny. Hope it stays this way. Ladies locker room could use some cleaning attention but other than that, the workout areas are worth my drive. Biggest downside of this location is that the ladies' dry sauna is extremely tiny. 4 other people came in and we were stacked on top of each other. It's like they decided last minute to make a closet space a sauna. Other locals are much bigger (for scale this one has one heater while others have two). The sauna is my fave part of Fit Con so it was disappointing but oh well. read more

The gym would be really nice, they have great equipment. The problem, they don't care about their members who are there to achieve goals and that respect the gym. They allow members to break, and steal equipment. The gym itself will not and I mean will not fix broken equipment like the cardio rowing machine, elliptical, treadmill, any weighted machine. They tell you they're working on it and tell you to fill out a survey. Mangers barely do anything. You have a complaint they don't care they tell you to fill out a survey. They allow bad members to come in and tear the gym up and refuse to fix anything. Would be a great gym if the owners and managers cared enough about the gym itself. If you're looking for a management position where you don't do a lot and you get half a day on weekends, this is the job for you. They told my husband I would have to come in to finish signing up , registration, and liability waivers. Well guess what... I don't want to work out here and never have wanted to. I've never stepped foot inside. They told my husband I would have to go in person to cancel something I never signed up for!!! I've been to every fitness connection in the Dallas area and I have to to say this one has to be the best fitness connection I've ever been to. They actually have Olympia style training machines,around eight professional squat racks and lots of equipment. The amount of different types of equipment they have for chest,back,and legs really surprised me,I guess if I had to have one knock on this location it's that it's not very big when compared to some of the other locations. But as someone who generally goes to the Irving location this one makes the Irving gym look like it's 5 stars. read more

Did the five day free trial. Massive facility lots of options. One of the few gyms with a rope climbing machine and tire flip machine pretty cool. Worked out at 530AM busy but not crazy. Two of the days we were in the back area one day pushing sleds the next using the TRX and rope machine. Different person each day same thing. Using squat rack area no real awareness for those around and constant slamming of weights on the ground. I really don't think single rep 135# hang cleans warrant that no slamming weights is posted no one really walking the floor. Not a big deal but did turn off some of the meters if our group trying this facility. No real class options to speak of in early AM, dry sauna is great to have access to. Price is a five star, found staff to be very polite with one exception and she wasn't rude just indifferent. Very clean no broken equipment that I saw. The slamming weights and people shooting videos for Instagram are why this was a 4 for me. That's not my thing so if you are cool with those things hard to be the price and amount of equipment. read more

Review It saddens me that I have to write this review because I really did enjoy coming here. The atmosphere was always great until almost 2 weeks ago (11/7) when I was attempting to get into my car & this male that's parked next to me pulled out right when I'm trying to get into my car, almost hitting me with his truck! He proceeds to block me in with his truck & gets out to approach My vehicle while I'm inside to threaten me with physical violence & Punches my car! Small wannabe macho man syndrome at its finest. So I go inside requesting a manager, I explain the incident to 2 managers & they assure me they'll file a report & review the footage. Well it's almost 2 weeks later & there's no update, which I'm just going to assume they're not going to take action. I'm so uncomfortable trying to proceed with my routine while the male watches me & smirks every time because he knows he got away with what he did. I feel defeated & discouraged that I'm the one considering terminating my membership because this is the only FC in my area that's 10 mins from my job. I'm by far not a Karen, or a troublemaker but to allow someone that is on camera HITTING another persons car & Threatening them with physical violence is unacceptable & it really shows this isn't the community you need to be surrounded by. read more

For a new gym, I love that almost everything is within easy reach. I like that they have a lot of the most popular machines. My biggest pet peeve, however, with this location are the men restrooms, it feels as they're never clean, or they just simply don't keep up with the amount of popularity and use this gym gets. Men will also shave in these restroom which to me, shaving in public is about the nastiest thing you can see. And having to go to the restroom a couple times during a workout and seeing those residuals not get cleaned up is nasty. I would recommend putting signs up where it states that shaving is prohibited if the workers can't maintain a clean gym. Which they certainly can't as they're not being cleaned often enough... read more

Great equipment but they've got to get the sewer gas situation under control, if you visit the gym be sure to go into the bathrooms. However the smell permeates the entire gym and is actually coming out of the water fountain drains. This isn't an inconvenience it's actually a health hazard. Brought my girlfriend in for a free day pass. Staff immediately told me I couldn't do that and we had to pay $16 for a guest day pass or we would have had to sign her up for a membership. I have brought guests before and never had this issue. I asked to speak to a manager and got the same answer. Some girl that works for fitness connection at this location came to my brothers job (Walmart) promoting fitness connection. She asked him to sign up and refer 7 friends which would equal him to have 7 months free. He wrote down the names of his friends to refer and the next day his card was charged 8 different times!!! Not only did they charge him for his membership but also for the 7 "referred friends!" They charged over $100 from his account! He went to the location and all they did was give him a customer service number and said they could not help him. He called the number and was on hold for more than 2.5 hours just for the call to drop. This makes them look like a bunch of scammers and because of people like that which "promote" the gym they will loose customers. Now everyone that works there will not only NOT go to this gym but also make sure their friends and family DO NOT GO EITHER! Google has another review of another gentleman who had the same experience. Our issue has yet to be resolved this is ridiculous. read more
