Unbelievably good! The restaurant decor is unique and upscale. The food was amazing! The dishes are more "fine dining" than most Thai places, but the prices are very reasonable. We had the Banh Beo w/ shrimp as our appetizer: perfection. Great presentation and even better taste! I had the Thai beef noodles and my husband had the Khao Poon. Our conversation during dinner was basically various versions of "oh my god this is so good!" Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and answered our questions. We absolutely will be going back! Overall the food was pretty good but the wine list was very pricey. We also found the interior to be a bit awkward as we were sat at the tables right by the curtains. You can easily hear these conversations from the entryway area. Give it a try, if you don't mind the cost of the wine and you can sit in a booth away from the curtains. read more

The ambience was a little pretentious. They texted me several times to remind me about the reservation and then they would not seat us until everyone was there which I always find of snotty. I waitressed for many years when I was younger, and we always had to know exactly where the plates went when they were ready. Ours were mixed up. We ordered another round of drinks and my wine was poured on top of what I was drinking which I never would have done. And the level was where it had been when I began so I kind of got short shrifted. The least expensive glass of white wine was $14 a glass. It was good but I think a less expensive choice would be nice, My favorite dish was the Vietnamese spring rolls. Very tasty. Everyone did enjoy their food. read more

The dining room makes a stunning first impression with the dramatic drapery and sweeping circular white marble bar with chrome furnishings. Conversations from other tables were well muffled. The menu contains a wide variety of intriguing dishes, including specialties from northeast Thailand that were unfamiliar to me. The wine list selection was chosen to pair well with Asian flavors. We started with Thai steamed dumplings: delicate texture with the flavors of chicken and shrimp complementing one another. For main dishes, we had Korat noodles and Thai beef noodles, both delicious. It's hard to know where to start, but I will start from the moment I entered the restaurant. The decor was stunning( I mean really stunning), the service was great, and food WOW.... just spectacular!!!!! When you walk into this restaurant, you are transported into a chic restaurant, found typically in Boston or New York. The ambience, the service, and the food are beyond what I expected. I would not wait....you need to experience it for yourself! If I had to provide one constructive comment, it would be that there is lack of signage. While word-of-mouth is great at the beginning while kinks are worked out, I think this restaurant is ready for prime time. read more

Very good! The flavors were amazing. The lemongrass, ginger, and other seasonings were spot on (without being overly salty) and especially the dumplings and tuna tartare just exploded with flavor. We ordered takeout for the first time the other night and everything was delicious! We got the Nam Naung, Cha goi, Khao Poon, and the special Thai Fried Chicken. Everything tasted very fresh and the flavors were super unique. It's so exciting having a new restaurant that has a little more authentic cuisine. I'm sure this will become one of my favorite restuarants and I can't wait to check out the inside. The seating area was separated by a gigantic curtain so I didn't get to see, but if it's anything as close to the effort that was put into the food then i'm sure it's great! The person at the host tables was also super friendly. My favorite things were the Nam Noung and the Khao Poon! Can't wait to try the rest of the menu :) read more

I think it's great that you hire people who have never been in a restaurant, let alone worked in one, Have to start somewhere! Maybe the person who was supposed to be managing, observing, training or had worked a shift or two prior walked out? The service last night was abysmal. We were the only table there for a good hour, and the bartender literally didn't know how to make vodka sodas. I'm not even making this up, he put them in martini glasses, and when we said, nope, it's just ice, then vodka, then add soda, he was dumbfounded. Our apps came (wrong order) before our drinks, and things went downhill after that. If anyone wanted to try this place, come with patience and a sense of humor, and do it soon, because while this could have been a hidden gem, it's on its way out of town based on what I observed last night. Food was not bad, but the service was so terrible.....They were friendly, but had no idea how to clear plates or menus, make drinks, take orders, or run cards. Also, having 4 menus per person is confusing and chaotic, especially when your servers don't know what is going on. The bar was empty the 2.5 hours we were there, not a single seat was taken. Too bad, it's a pretty room and if they knew how to make a drink, ( on his 2 nd try, he used a shaker for the vodka soda?!?) it could be a not bad place. First time eating here. We went for a birthday dinner. The restaurant's interior is absolutely stunning, swanky. Creative cocktails, lots of small bites and interesting mains. Expensive and the menu is very limited. The decor aims toward swanky but sort of seems unfinished. If you want a soup and salad you will be out $12 for soup and $17 for salad. I was excited to try a new restaurant in Portsmouth and like all new restaurants they have their bumps. The food has the potential to be absolutely amazing, the khao poon had amazing flavors, however, the components of the dish come on a side plate for you to add (noodles, cabbage, egg) but the components are cold so when you add them in it instantly makes the dish luke warm. Being served on a warm plate may help. The service was okay, very nice and accommodating, just not very knowledgeable with the menu items. Overall not a bad experience and will definitely try again. read more
