Our server Tony was simply the best. The food was amazing, service was great and it was a lovely place to visit for our anniversary. There is valet parking or street parking as well, which wasn't too difficult to find on a weekend. Love the ambiance, we hope to come back soon!

Great food, friendly efficient service and a laid back environment is what we experienced at Five Crowns during Father's Day. It was an enjoyable meal even for my 7 year old who has a severe dairy allergy. She ordered the kids prime rib and green beans as her side. She finished her entire plate.

4 out of 5 stars Five Crowns is owned by Lawry's and is a solid English prime rib dining experience in Corona del Mar. If you've been to a Lawry's before, you know how this works. The biggest difference to note is that the spinning bowl salad that you typically get at Lawry's is NOT included with the standard prime rib offerings at Five Crowns. So if you want a salad, you have to order that separately. I typically order the bone-in cut, so I get the Henry VIII cut, which is the thickest cut with a bone. It is currently priced at $78 and you get to choose 2 sides: Lawry's creamed corn, Lawry's creamed spinach, or mashed potatoes. It comes with au jus and Yorkshire pudding. FYI: an option could be to wait until Restaurant Week to get the pre fixe menu. If you are in the Newport Beach area and craving a prime rib experience, this is the place to go. But if you are looking for the more traditional Lawry's dining experience, then you need to make the trek to the Beverly Hills location. Parking is very tight at this Five Crowns. They only have valet parking and street parking is very limited. Be sure to make a reservation in advance.

My nephew was in town with his adorable wife who had never been to California. Their visit fell on their wedding anniversary. We wanted them to go somewhere amazing and we picked the perfect place! I contacted Carly a couple weeks before to ask how we Could make their dinner extra special. Carly arranged everything. We chose a 6:15 dinner time so they could take the short walk to the Most gorgeous beach after dinner and watch the sunset. At the restaurant Justin took the very best care of them. They were given complimentary champagne while they decided on their delicious dinner. Their food was perfect! The service was perfect! The ambiance was perfect! If you are looking for a romantic fabulous restaurant you have found it! Thank you so much Carly, Justin, and everyone at Five Crowns!

Such a divine dine! I am a Lawry's of Beverly Hills frequent flyer but had never tried Five Crowns. Boy what I was missing! The food is very similar to Lawry's of course. The atmosphere was a bit more casual but fancier than Tam O' Shanter. Mark, our server was fun and welcoming. Hope we get to be in his section again when we return.

A Fatty prime rib Crown Cut. I ate the 3 pieces of small meat. Terrible!

We ordered two prime ribs and both were pure fat for the majority! See photos of the bone in Crown Cut. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she said that I should have asked for a lean cut. When you're paying $70 for a piece of meat, I always expect that as a member and a customer I would receive a decent edible cut of meat. I expect more from this restaurant. The first cut of meat for my son was fat as well. Why would the Chef try to pawn this out on us or any customer??? Is the manager aware and just trying to save money? Well, if so, very poor business!!!

I visited Five Crowns during December and this is a MUST! The holiday spirit is alive! The cozy, English cottage decor already give you that "warming up by the fire" feel, so add a few garlands and live Christmas Carolers taking requests from each table and you are fully immersed in holiday magic! Yes, it's a steak house so it'll be pricey. Their prime rib is amazing. I got the smallest portion, Tokyo cut, and it was perfect for me. Our waiter, Zach, was great. Perfectly attentive and helpful with any questions or things we needed. We were here for a birthday and they brought out a complimentary cake slice with a candle. A very sweet touch. This is a great, immersive place to have a holiday dinner.

Best dinner you'll have in a long time! I love their martinis and risotto. Cream corn and wedge salad are off the hook. Service is impeccable. Would eat here once a week!

We come here yearly for the Christmas carolers. My daughter and her husband really enjoy it. We're late this year as we were all busy and finally got around to make reservations at the end of the holidays season. Unfortunately, we couldn't secure a spot for this past weekend. All time slots that would work for us were all booked up. We found a slot for tonight, Monday night, and it turned out to be better. Lesser people so more relaxing. Food was good. My daughter and her husband had their prime rib dinner and they always loved it. Hubby also ordered the same but requesting fat to be trimmed off so that was good, he said. I had the chicken Jidori and that was a great choice since I do not like prime rib (too fatty for me - just personal preference). The chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy. Both my daughter and I had the chili as starters and that was excellent. Very good quality, lean prime beef in the chili. The meat was tender and there was no beans in the chili! The "boys" had the lobster bisque and they enjoyed it. We had the vanilla ice cream sundae and that was very good. The almonds topping was fresh and not stale like most. Service was excellent. We had Abdalla as our server and he was great.

Alright we felt the need to try this place out since lawrys is one of our favorite restaurants ever, and it did not let us down. Classic prime rib, great sides (would totally come back just for those parm fries!), and friendly staff. Ambience was spectacular as well, would Eve say better than Lawyes in BH... love the interior design here. Cannot emphasize enough how delicious the fries were- not sure if they're fried in beef tallow but the crunch was out of this world.

Food, service, and ambiance were top notch, especially during the holidays when they have their decorations up and their carolers. Valet parking is available but we were able to find street parking. Food/Drink- 5 stars Oysters- these were an alright start. But everything else gets much better Continental Louie cocktail- this was divine and my favorite dish of the night. The huge chunks of crab and lobster were so juicy and perfectly seasoned. I highly recommend this Pride of the Crowns salad- the salad was superb. So much buttery goodness with the toppings and mixed perfectly Lobster bisque- really hearty with plenty of lobster flavor. Really enjoyed it English rib chop- we ordered this with the Neptune upgrade. It was good, but I would just stick with their specialties of prime rib for the entree Prime rib- tried the Tokyo and Crown cuts. I really enjoyed the Tokyo cut as the thinly cut prime rib was so tender and sucked up all the au jus flavor Desserts- we tried the English trifle, banana cream pie, and CC Brown's Hot Fudge Sundae. The banana cream pie was easily the favorite, but everything was delicious Service- 5 stars Our server, Daniel, was fantastic throughout. The whole staff were so attentative and made sure we had a fantastic experience Ambiance- 5 stars The English inn vibe was great and loved the decor throughout the restaurant. It's a great spot to be during the holidays with their decorations and holiday carolers Bottom Line Fantastic steakhouse with excellent food, service, and ambiance

We celebrated a rellie's bday at Five Crowns (part of the Lawry's family) in Corona del Mar. Our group was large enuf so we rented a private room for lunch (the restaurant is only open for dinner normally). They had a set menu with a couple of options for each course. I opted for the wedge salad, prime rib and cheesecake. First of all, the wedge hit the spot. It was full sized, and had a lot of bacon & blue cheese crumbles. Secondarily, the main was a good as the Bev Hills and Vegas locations. The meat was tender, nicely seasoned with just a hint of fat. WhereTF have I been for not hitting the location that is closest to HB until now. Lastly, there is always room for dessert. I enjoy a good cheesecake, and FC's version did not disappoint. It was creamy and went well with the strawberry and sauce. Shelley and her partner (I did not get her name), took excellent care of us. We had the place to ourselves, which worked out nicely. The Crown room was perfect for our group. It had natural lighting, and plenty of space. My cuz has a bunch of credits for being a member of Five Crowns. She said she will host me for my bday later this year. I'd return w/o the invite for good food, nice ambiance and great service.

We had a super dinner experience here! We made a reservation online on open table. We got here at 7:25, but waited about 10 minutes for a table. I asked if we could sit on the patio. It was absolutely perfect. We ordered the Prosecco and I split it with my husband. They were nice enough to split it for us at the bar, poured halves into coupe glasses. It was very kind gesture. I started with the salad - Pride of the Crowns. It was so delicious with butter lettuce, bacon, toasted walnut, grated Gruyère. The Herbs de Provenance dressing was so delicious! Then my lobster bisque came out. So good with some counts and chunks of lobster. Must order this! My husband was very happy with his prime rib. All the side dishes were perfectly executed. I had a few bites of his prime rib and creamed spinach. Must order this as well! Nick from Brooklyn took great care of us tonight! Can't wait to come back the next time we're in town!

I'M NOT SURE. WHY DON'T YOU CALL THEM? I WOULD BET THERE WOULD BE AN EXTRA CHARGE FOR THAT.

No. This isn't really the kind of place you bring a dog.

Yes they do. Just request for one if they don't automatically give it. But I got my son's dinner from the kids selection. Big portion too for kids just fyi

The staff who assisted with seating and bringing silverware were also friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, our dining experience declined once our order was taken. We ordered the Beets Salad as our starter, followed by the Chicken Piccata and Salmon as our entrées. The salad arrived within about five minutes, but we then waited nearly 40 minutes for our main courses without any acknowledgment or update. When I asked our waitress about the delay, her only response was, "Your order was fired 15 minutes ago." When I asked why it had taken so long, she simply repeated the same statement. At no point did she offer a sincere apology or show any empathy for the extended wait. As someone who has owned and managed businesses, I know that delays can happen. However, a simple apology and proactive communication can make all the difference in how guests perceive the experience. The food itself was excellent, and both entrées were well prepared. Unfortunately, the service continued to disappoint. After we finished our meals, our waitress immediately cleared our plates and brought the check without asking whether we would like dessert, coffee, or anything else to finish our evening. That was surprising and made us feel rushed. I rarely leave negative reviews because I understand that every business can have an off night. In this case, however, the issue was not the kitchen delay--it was the lack of communication, empathy, and basic hospitality. Had our waitress simply apologized, kept us informed, or involved a manager, this review likely would not have been necessary. I hope management views this as constructive feedback. Andrea and several other staff members represented the restaurant exceptionally well, but I believe additional customer service training would help ensure that situations like this are handled with greater professionalism and care in the future.

Nice looking spot with plenty of outdoor seating. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly. So why just 3 stars? The food was just eh. If I had more hours in California I would have made up for the lackluster food by making a trip to HB's Tacos Los Cholos. I had the recommended Enchiladas Suizas. When my plate came out I knew immediately it would be just ok. The enchiladas didn't even look saucy. The refried beans looked (and tasted) like canned beans. The rice was very boring. The tinga chicken, somehow, was dry. My wife had the tostada salad. It was like $26 because of the $10 add on of steak. $26 for the most gringo thing on the menu. Best part of it was the steak, the rest will be repressed from my memory. A friend had the taco trio. $19 for 3 tacos and no sides. That's pretty steep. He didn't even finish the 3 tacos. He had the short rib, al pastor and carnitas. None of them looked very good. I had a pinch of his short rib meat. It tasted like grandma's Sunday pot roast. And just like the tinga chicken it was also dry. My wife's strawberry marg was quite good. The beer menu was very basic. Gotta step it up. When the free chips and salsa, and add on steak are the highlights of the dinner you know that the place needs help.
