Such a divine dine! I am a Lawry's of Beverly Hills frequent flyer but had never tried Five Crowns. Boy what I was missing! The food is very similar to Lawry's of course. The atmosphere was a bit more casual but fancier than Tam O' Shanter. Mark, our server was fun and welcoming. Hope we get to be in his section again when we return.

Best dinner you'll have in a long time! I love their martinis and risotto. Cream corn and wedge salad are off the hook. Service is impeccable. Would eat here once a week!

Alright we felt the need to try this place out since lawrys is one of our favorite restaurants ever, and it did not let us down. Classic prime rib, great sides (would totally come back just for those parm fries!), and friendly staff. Ambience was spectacular as well, would Eve say better than Lawyes in BH... love the interior design here. Cannot emphasize enough how delicious the fries were- not sure if they're fried in beef tallow but the crunch was out of this world.

I visited Five Crowns during December and this is a MUST! The holiday spirit is alive! The cozy, English cottage decor already give you that "warming up by the fire" feel, so add a few garlands and live Christmas Carolers taking requests from each table and you are fully immersed in holiday magic! Yes, it's a steak house so it'll be pricey. Their prime rib is amazing. I got the smallest portion, Tokyo cut, and it was perfect for me. Our waiter, Zach, was great. Perfectly attentive and helpful with any questions or things we needed. We were here for a birthday and they brought out a complimentary cake slice with a candle. A very sweet touch. This is a great, immersive place to have a holiday dinner.

We come here yearly for the Christmas carolers. My daughter and her husband really enjoy it. We're late this year as we were all busy and finally got around to make reservations at the end of the holidays season. Unfortunately, we couldn't secure a spot for this past weekend. All time slots that would work for us were all booked up. We found a slot for tonight, Monday night, and it turned out to be better. Lesser people so more relaxing. Food was good. My daughter and her husband had their prime rib dinner and they always loved it. Hubby also ordered the same but requesting fat to be trimmed off so that was good, he said. I had the chicken Jidori and that was a great choice since I do not like prime rib (too fatty for me - just personal preference). The chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy. Both my daughter and I had the chili as starters and that was excellent. Very good quality, lean prime beef in the chili. The meat was tender and there was no beans in the chili! The "boys" had the lobster bisque and they enjoyed it. We had the vanilla ice cream sundae and that was very good. The almonds topping was fresh and not stale like most. Service was excellent. We had Abdalla as our server and he was great.

Food, service, and ambiance were top notch, especially during the holidays when they have their decorations up and their carolers. Valet parking is available but we were able to find street parking. Food/Drink- 5 stars Oysters- these were an alright start. But everything else gets much better Continental Louie cocktail- this was divine and my favorite dish of the night. The huge chunks of crab and lobster were so juicy and perfectly seasoned. I highly recommend this Pride of the Crowns salad- the salad was superb. So much buttery goodness with the toppings and mixed perfectly Lobster bisque- really hearty with plenty of lobster flavor. Really enjoyed it English rib chop- we ordered this with the Neptune upgrade. It was good, but I would just stick with their specialties of prime rib for the entree Prime rib- tried the Tokyo and Crown cuts. I really enjoyed the Tokyo cut as the thinly cut prime rib was so tender and sucked up all the au jus flavor Desserts- we tried the English trifle, banana cream pie, and CC Brown's Hot Fudge Sundae. The banana cream pie was easily the favorite, but everything was delicious Service- 5 stars Our server, Daniel, was fantastic throughout. The whole staff were so attentative and made sure we had a fantastic experience Ambiance- 5 stars The English inn vibe was great and loved the decor throughout the restaurant. It's a great spot to be during the holidays with their decorations and holiday carolers Bottom Line Fantastic steakhouse with excellent food, service, and ambiance

We celebrated a rellie's bday at Five Crowns (part of the Lawry's family) in Corona del Mar. Our group was large enuf so we rented a private room for lunch (the restaurant is only open for dinner normally). They had a set menu with a couple of options for each course. I opted for the wedge salad, prime rib and cheesecake. First of all, the wedge hit the spot. It was full sized, and had a lot of bacon & blue cheese crumbles. Secondarily, the main was a good as the Bev Hills and Vegas locations. The meat was tender, nicely seasoned with just a hint of fat. WhereTF have I been for not hitting the location that is closest to HB until now. Lastly, there is always room for dessert. I enjoy a good cheesecake, and FC's version did not disappoint. It was creamy and went well with the strawberry and sauce. Shelley and her partner (I did not get her name), took excellent care of us. We had the place to ourselves, which worked out nicely. The Crown room was perfect for our group. It had natural lighting, and plenty of space. My cuz has a bunch of credits for being a member of Five Crowns. She said she will host me for my bday later this year. I'd return w/o the invite for good food, nice ambiance and great service.

Food doesn't disappoint...neither does the service although do wish they stayed open a tad later. We've been here a handful of times in the last few years when we crave prime rib. They had a special for $95 that included a soup or salad, lobster tail and prime rib with a couple sides. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and the lobster tail as well. The creamed spinach was pretty good although I may try a different side next time. The mashed with gravy was solid - and pouring some of the jou on top was a pro move...also gotta hit that prime rib with the horse radish spread. We paired the meal with a bottle of Justin Cab which was the perfect complement. Vicky took care of us and she was both attentive and entertaining...cracking us up on multiple occasions. We did stay pretty late because the dining room did close pretty early. We had a night cap at side door - the adjoining bar. Keep up the great work 5!

We haven't visited this restaurant since 2021, although we have been at the side door a couple of times in 2023 and all of those times my husband and I always had a wonderful experience and came out happy!!! So I decided to celebrate my birthday here. I have been raving about the New York strip I had last time, but tonight's experience was disappointing. The service and ambiance were okay, although a bit loud. The food, however, wasn't worth the trip. My bone-in New York strip was dry, and we requested it to be charred on all sides and medium rare. The waitress returned with the steak not charred, claiming that charring it would prevent it from being medium rare. We've dined at many restaurants, and they always managed to cook it charred and medium rare. We sent it back, and it was returned charred, but with a gas smell (I have a feeling they only used the fire gun because they were too lazy to do so) A glass of wine was brought to our table by mistake, and we were charged for it despite sending it back. (No apologies or whatsoever) If we were the type of people that would not check the bill thoroughly we would've paid for it instantly. The English trifle for my birthday was stale, and no apology was offered either instead the waitress came back and was full of reasons on how they just baked it the same day. We sent it back, she did ask if we wanted another dessert instead but I was already upset all I wanted to do was get up and go. We ordered a cappuccino, which was ordinary! (See my picture below) Considering the price, the quality was poor at this restaurant! We also have tried to talk to the manager because of the wine that we brought as they have charged us the first bottle and second bottle that costed more than the first bottle for corkage. Upon arriving the waitress have not mentioned anything about the corkage fee or anything second we have called to make a reservation and we have told them about the bottles that we will be bringing and told us that the first bottle is free and the second will have a corkage fee which was fine with us, (hence the two bottles upon arriving) all that the manager could say was ok and left and making it seem like we lied about it! She already didn't apologize for that extra fee that they have put in our bill and did not do anything about the corkage and expect us to return? No, thank you! Like we were the ones that should be thankful to even dine here! So rude! We won't be returning to this restaurant, which is unfortunate because it used to be good! I am starting to really believe at my own saying that if the bread is mediocre at a place expect the food is mediocre as well. Their bread was a Sourdough!!!! Spaghetti factory had a better bread than them. What really upsets me because it was birthday and it's really sad! I should've know better and chose something else! Lesson learned It seems like location and status are now the priority. I prefer dining at a nice restaurant where I'd pay the same price and receive better service. Compared to this restaurant, Hanna's is a better steakhouse option!

We had a super dinner experience here! We made a reservation online on open table. We got here at 7:25, but waited about 10 minutes for a table. I asked if we could sit on the patio. It was absolutely perfect. We ordered the Prosecco and I split it with my husband. They were nice enough to split it for us at the bar, poured halves into coupe glasses. It was very kind gesture. I started with the salad - Pride of the Crowns. It was so delicious with butter lettuce, bacon, toasted walnut, grated Gruyère. The Herbs de Provenance dressing was so delicious! Then my lobster bisque came out. So good with some counts and chunks of lobster. Must order this! My husband was very happy with his prime rib. All the side dishes were perfectly executed. I had a few bites of his prime rib and creamed spinach. Must order this as well! Nick from Brooklyn took great care of us tonight! Can't wait to come back the next time we're in town!

Hosted a group event here a month ago and it could not have gone smoother! Delicious food, easy to work with staff, and flexible group options! Well worth considering for a small group gathering.

Five Crowns has almost all of the Lawry's experience, but not completely. Wonderful service, the waiter was constantly checking up on us, and not in a pushy way. Just super friendly and helpful. The prime rib was just as good as Lawry's in LA too. The meat was cooked perfectly, the au jus was savory and the creamed corn was creamy and lightly sweet. A big miss was, however, the salad. The Lawry's salad is so amazing the it was definitely missed, as well as the baked potato. We ended with the souffle and it was nice and light, but don't miss the ice cream.. it's a must. They didn't have that available and we really love that at the main restaurant. The restaurant itself was charming and had a very interesting old British pub feel that we really loved.

Charming british feel with good vibes. The ambiance is on the older side but the greenhouse/outdoor area is beautiful! Food is good but seemed less than what we paid for. The prime rib eye was nicely seared with beautiful marks but awfully thick. Order it surf and turf style so you get a side with veggies and crab. It had great flavor and very lean with little marbling. Service was attentive. The prime rib is good but not as bountiful as Lawrys. Highly recommend the mushrooms!

Bathrooms should be maintained periodically, and the floor shouldn't be sticky to walk on. Cross contamination: JNB's waitress in their (mostly) black short/skinny dresses in heels, with monotone voice and obviously did not want to serve our table, should not be clearing tables, picking up used dishes and serving food and drinks at the same time, ooh and wrapping utensils with napkins during their down time. We reserved a table outside and the atmosphere was nice and seats were comfortable. We're not sure if it was because we were sat in the far corner or they were understaffed, but the service was very slow, and even getting our card back after we paid took at least 10 minutes. Finally, the food was fine, aside from one of the salmon entrees coming out VERY rare. The restaurant ended up comping this dish for us. If you're looking for a nice night out with great food and drinks, there are plenty of more satisfying options for m Orange County that will be far better, and also cost you less than CDM.

Although it is located in a resort, it is definitely a locals spot. Everyone appeared to know each other from the area. Very friendly. We arrived around 11:00 am for Brunch and to watch the final day of The Masters. It was a rainy morning so we elected to sit at the bar. We typically enjoy sitting outside on the patio at the tables or the fire pits, if you still at the bar, you still have a nice view of the boats lined up in the harbor. Tia was the bartender when we arrived. She was very attentive and professional. Tia explained brunch was already over which we were a little bummed but she said she could still do a couple of breakfast boards. Neither looked like what we were interested in eating so we elected to go for lunch. We ordered Bloody Marys and they were delicious. We started with the Chef's Seasonal Burrata - Pistachio pesto, roasted beets, pomegranate, lemon olive oil, fresh herbs, grilled house made focaccia. This was very refreshing and tasty. It is also GF and Veg. I ordered the A+O Burger - Brioche bun, butter lettuce, 1000 island, farmhouse cheddar, caramelized onion, pickles, fries. I ordered it Medium and unfortunately the burger was cooked well done. It had great flavor but it was a little dry since not cooked to order. The fries were delicious, hot and crispy. My husband ordered the Pork Belly Sliders - Pork belly, butterleaf lettuce, roma tomatoes, fresh sliced pickles, spicy aioli, Kings Hawaiian slider bun. He said they were delicious. Tia left and Joe took over. Joe was amazing. Very attentive and friendly. Joe went out of his way to grab a drink I requested that was not available at the bar and brought it out for me. Very nice! The bar was crowded and Joe took care of everyone with ease while giving everyone attention. Cameron also came in shift and was very friendly as well. The service was excellent and we liked the food. If they had cooked my burger to requested temp it would have been perfect. We will be back!

TLDR; Pretty sure this spot used to a pretty crappy brunch buffet spot. Decided to come and see…read morewhat the new spot is like. Advertised live dj on sundays when we made reservations and there was no live music. Food is overall bland as hell, steak was chewy and dry and unsalted it seems. Chicken and waffles board was probably the worst chicken and waffles I've had, and all the sides that came with it seemed random as hell. We were excited to try a newish brunch spot out and to get a bottle of champagne for mimosas. Little did we know, that the mimosa would be the best part of the meal. This spot replaced a super crappy brunch buffet, that was one of the saddest buffets I've ever been to. Saw that they opened a new concept and saw that they advertised live DJs on sundays for brunch. So we decided to try it. We sat down and ordered the chicken and waffles platter and steak and salad plate. The chicken and waffle plate was really not that good, not a single item on the platter was good. Waffles, you can tell they tried to make it fancy, but just tasted weird and dry. The syrup, looks like they make in house also, not sweet enough and bland. The chicken was the least bland item out of everything, but it's not worth it at all. The steak was one of the chewiest, dry steaks I've had in a while also under seasoned, maybe even no salt. The chicken platter also had random items on it, that made no sense. Random sprigs of rosemary, marshmallow amongst other items. Nothing seemed to gel and it looked like they were just trying to fill the space with easy things. The mimosas that came with the chicken and waffles platter was the star of our meal. Honestly, I'd say it's hard to make food taste this bland and whatevers. With what they are charging, the steak shouldn't be dry and chewy, let alone not seasoned. Everything was under seasoned like we were in a cardiatric ward in the hospital. You can make better food following any recipe on YouTube. 2 stars for the mimosa and the server was very friendly, service wasn't anything to write home about though. Not busy at all, and a lot of workers just standing around. We didn't get checked on much throughout the meal. Oh and the valet was free at least.

It's influenced by the San Cabos area of Mexico. So, it's what we're familiar with, only with a lovely twist. I ordered the chicken enchiladas Suiza, and my son got the taco trio. It was some of the BEST Mexican food we'd ever had. Another plus is that it's not on Balboa Island's main drag. So, parking and traffic aren't as much of a hassle. It's also very close to the water. The atmosphere is pleasant, and so is the staff. We couldn't have had a nicer experience. I highly recommend it.

Nice looking spot with plenty of outdoor seating. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly. So why just 3 stars? The food was just eh. If I had more hours in California I would have made up for the lackluster food by making a trip to HB's Tacos Los Cholos. I had the recommended Enchiladas Suizas. When my plate came out I knew immediately it would be just ok. The enchiladas didn't even look saucy. The refried beans looked (and tasted) like canned beans. The rice was very boring. The tinga chicken, somehow, was dry. My wife had the tostada salad. It was like $26 because of the $10 add on of steak. $26 for the most gringo thing on the menu. Best part of it was the steak, the rest will be repressed from my memory. A friend had the taco trio. $19 for 3 tacos and no sides. That's pretty steep. He didn't even finish the 3 tacos. He had the short rib, al pastor and carnitas. None of them looked very good. I had a pinch of his short rib meat. It tasted like grandma's Sunday pot roast. And just like the tinga chicken it was also dry. My wife's strawberry marg was quite good. The beer menu was very basic. Gotta step it up. When the free chips and salsa, and add on steak are the highlights of the dinner you know that the place needs help.

I am so glad I did, especially since it was happy hour. The place definitely has a great vibe to it. Plenty of seating throughout the restaurant. I recommend sitting at the bar as that's where all the action happens. You definitely want to make sure you get there for happy hour and Taco Tuesday especially, $10 Margaritas $4 tacos and these are not cheap tacos. These are like serious tacos that will fill you up. Their salsa is great, not super spicy and makes great for munching while you're talking with friends. The margaritas are definitely strong, which is nice, as some places tend to water them down for happy hour. I would say that this is a great choice to go check out and have a taco or two or three or four. I had the carne asada, the carnitas, and the pastor, every single one of them was perfect and the salsa that they came with was out of this world. Bottom line? This is a great place for Taco Tuesday as well as just a hangout and have a drink after work. Whenever I am in Costa Mesa. I am definitely coming here again.

When we arrived, we were shocked to see they were going to squeeze us into someone else's table filled with people that could not comfortably seat four additional people next to them . Horrified we requested what we originally booked and they said NOTHING accept they were REALLY BUSY and pointed us to the outdoor fire pits with no proper chairs or seating just a firepit to put a child to sit in front of. At this point zero management came to address this and zero servers as we asked for one . We were completely ignored . We were so hungry we just sat down desperate and starving. There was no omlette bar. (I was told on the phone there was an omlette bar before booking ) No sauces to go with any food. Dried up scrambled eggs and just a few dishes to choose from this 'buffet'. The ONLY salad dressings they had (2) were super sweet (no ranch) nothing . No flavor . Their non meat dishes were just one horrible dried up bean and grain pattie obviously frozen out of a box even an animal would never eat . It was that bad . Their 'replacement ' for almost zero dishes was a pancake ststion obviously to cut costs even more . The food was horrible . When you anticipate a special Mother's Day brunch that is horribly overpriced and get this in return its so disappointing and apalling .We were prepared to walk out after our bad news of no proper seating and terrible start but by then obviously we couldn't just go to another brunch on Mother's Day . Plus our other two guests were parking with a child so we were stuck. This was our only option or nothing. Its unbelievabke how am estsblishment can treat people like this especially on a soecial day like Mother's Day amd can command their pricing with no proper and safe seating for 4 with safe and healthy distancing with a fire pit as a SEAT. No apologies , no manager , nothing . just a terrible high bill, very little options and poor food quality . At best we should get a refund as this was false advertising and did not get a table for up to 4 . What an awful Mother's Day Brunch . We go out to eat EVERYWHERE around here but can't believe sonething like this can exist . So sad . This part of the day was ruined .

She had told me about it before and really wanted to take me, so I was excited to finally check it out. It's a very small place, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation online. That worked perfectly for us we were able to get in right away without any wait. Even though it's cozy, it doesn't feel cramped at all. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the drinks were wonderful. The staff really stood out to me. They were attentive, kind, and professional throughout the night. At one point, a patron started to get a bit too tipsy, and the staff handled it with such care and respect while making sure everyone else didn't feel awkward in the situation. It was clear they genuinely care about their guests' experience. Overall, such a great spot and we will definitely come back.

The atmosphere could have been cool, but every 5 minutes the bright hallway light blasted through the western-style swinging door and completely ruined the dark speakeasy vibe. The drinks were tiny and overpriced. We ordered two Old Fashioneds and the giant ice cubes took up almost the entire glass. Larger than a normal square ice cube- a little taller. But it seriously felt like they split one drink into two. Barely a shot in each glass, and the cocktails themselves were just so-so. Very syrup-y flavor. Definitely not "bespoke" or unique the was the server was upselling us. Service started good but when he got busy it went downhill. And by busy he got (1) 5 top.....He was excited about explaining the menu but then never once came back to check on us. When we finally flagged him down and asked for the check, he just dropped the handheld payment terminal on the table, walked away, grabbed it when we finished paying, and said absolutely nothing... no "thank you," no "have a great night," nothing. And this was after we still tipped 20%. Definitely not worth the money, service, or atmosphere. We won't be back.
