    Crown cut prime rib.

Wonderful dinner at Five Crowns! The prime rib was perfectly cooked, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The mashed potatoes, creamed spinach.

Calling all prime rib lovers! A must! It was on my list for a while, finally came. There are 2 sides, the main room is for special occasions or big groups, the - "Side Car" bar area offers the most relaxed, casual atmosphere, where you can go an enjoy a prime cut solo or with a smaller party without the fufu setting, casual attire is ok in the bar area. The service is still 5 stars! They have separate menus but you can order from both.

Our server Tony was simply the best. The food was amazing, service was great and it was a lovely place to visit for our anniversary. There is valet parking or street parking as well, which wasn't too difficult to find on a weekend. Love the ambiance, we hope to come back soon!

Great food, friendly efficient service and a laid back environment is what we experienced at Five Crowns during Father's Day. It was an enjoyable meal even for my 7 year old who has a severe dairy allergy. She ordered the kids prime rib and green beans as her side. She finished her entire plate.

4 out of 5 stars Five Crowns is owned by Lawry's and is a solid English prime rib dining experience in Corona del Mar. If you've been to a Lawry's before, you know how this works. The biggest difference to note is that the spinning bowl salad that you typically get at Lawry's is NOT included with the standard prime rib offerings at Five Crowns. So if you want a salad, you have to order that separately. I typically order the bone-in cut, so I get the Henry VIII cut, which is the thickest cut with a bone. It is currently priced at $78 and you get to choose 2 sides: Lawry's creamed corn, Lawry's creamed spinach, or mashed potatoes. It comes with au jus and Yorkshire pudding. FYI: an option could be to wait until Restaurant Week to get the pre fixe menu. If you are in the Newport Beach area and craving a prime rib experience, this is the place to go. But if you are looking for the more traditional Lawry's dining experience, then you need to make the trek to the Beverly Hills location. Parking is very tight at this Five Crowns. They only have valet parking and street parking is very limited. Be sure to make a reservation in advance.

I visited Five Crowns during December and this is a MUST! The holiday spirit is alive! The cozy, English cottage decor already give you that "warming up by the fire" feel, so add a few garlands and live Christmas Carolers taking requests from each table and you are fully immersed in holiday magic! Yes, it's a steak house so it'll be pricey. Their prime rib is amazing. I got the smallest portion, Tokyo cut, and it was perfect for me. Our waiter, Zach, was great. Perfectly attentive and helpful with any questions or things we needed. We were here for a birthday and they brought out a complimentary cake slice with a candle. A very sweet touch. This is a great, immersive place to have a holiday dinner.

Such a divine dine! I am a Lawry's of Beverly Hills frequent flyer but had never tried Five Crowns. Boy what I was missing! The food is very similar to Lawry's of course. The atmosphere was a bit more casual but fancier than Tam O' Shanter. Mark, our server was fun and welcoming. Hope we get to be in his section again when we return.

We come here yearly for the Christmas carolers. My daughter and her husband really enjoy it. We're late this year as we were all busy and finally got around to make reservations at the end of the holidays season. Unfortunately, we couldn't secure a spot for this past weekend. All time slots that would work for us were all booked up. We found a slot for tonight, Monday night, and it turned out to be better. Lesser people so more relaxing. Food was good. My daughter and her husband had their prime rib dinner and they always loved it. Hubby also ordered the same but requesting fat to be trimmed off so that was good, he said. I had the chicken Jidori and that was a great choice since I do not like prime rib (too fatty for me - just personal preference). The chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy. Both my daughter and I had the chili as starters and that was excellent. Very good quality, lean prime beef in the chili. The meat was tender and there was no beans in the chili! The "boys" had the lobster bisque and they enjoyed it. We had the vanilla ice cream sundae and that was very good. The almonds topping was fresh and not stale like most. Service was excellent. We had Abdalla as our server and he was great.

Best dinner you'll have in a long time! I love their martinis and risotto. Cream corn and wedge salad are off the hook. Service is impeccable. Would eat here once a week!

Food, service, and ambiance were top notch, especially during the holidays when they have their decorations up and their carolers. Valet parking is available but we were able to find street parking. Food/Drink- 5 stars Oysters- these were an alright start. But everything else gets much better Continental Louie cocktail- this was divine and my favorite dish of the night. The huge chunks of crab and lobster were so juicy and perfectly seasoned. I highly recommend this Pride of the Crowns salad- the salad was superb. So much buttery goodness with the toppings and mixed perfectly Lobster bisque- really hearty with plenty of lobster flavor. Really enjoyed it English rib chop- we ordered this with the Neptune upgrade. It was good, but I would just stick with their specialties of prime rib for the entree Prime rib- tried the Tokyo and Crown cuts. I really enjoyed the Tokyo cut as the thinly cut prime rib was so tender and sucked up all the au jus flavor Desserts- we tried the English trifle, banana cream pie, and CC Brown's Hot Fudge Sundae. The banana cream pie was easily the favorite, but everything was delicious Service- 5 stars Our server, Daniel, was fantastic throughout. The whole staff were so attentative and made sure we had a fantastic experience Ambiance- 5 stars The English inn vibe was great and loved the decor throughout the restaurant. It's a great spot to be during the holidays with their decorations and holiday carolers Bottom Line Fantastic steakhouse with excellent food, service, and ambiance

My nephew was in town with his adorable wife who had never been to California. Their visit fell on their wedding anniversary. We wanted them to go somewhere amazing and we picked the perfect place! I contacted Carly a couple weeks before to ask how we Could make their dinner extra special. Carly arranged everything. We chose a 6:15 dinner time so they could take the short walk to the Most gorgeous beach after dinner and watch the sunset. At the restaurant Justin took the very best care of them. They were given complimentary champagne while they decided on their delicious dinner. Their food was perfect! The service was perfect! The ambiance was perfect! If you are looking for a romantic fabulous restaurant you have found it! Thank you so much Carly, Justin, and everyone at Five Crowns!

We celebrated a rellie's bday at Five Crowns (part of the Lawry's family) in Corona del Mar. Our group was large enuf so we rented a private room for lunch (the restaurant is only open for dinner normally). They had a set menu with a couple of options for each course. I opted for the wedge salad, prime rib and cheesecake. First of all, the wedge hit the spot. It was full sized, and had a lot of bacon & blue cheese crumbles. Secondarily, the main was a good as the Bev Hills and Vegas locations. The meat was tender, nicely seasoned with just a hint of fat. WhereTF have I been for not hitting the location that is closest to HB until now. Lastly, there is always room for dessert. I enjoy a good cheesecake, and FC's version did not disappoint. It was creamy and went well with the strawberry and sauce. Shelley and her partner (I did not get her name), took excellent care of us. We had the place to ourselves, which worked out nicely. The Crown room was perfect for our group. It had natural lighting, and plenty of space. My cuz has a bunch of credits for being a member of Five Crowns. She said she will host me for my bday later this year. I'd return w/o the invite for good food, nice ambiance and great service.

A Fatty prime rib Crown Cut. I ate the 3 pieces of small meat. Terrible!

We ordered two prime ribs and both were pure fat for the majority! See photos of the bone in Crown Cut. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she said that I should have asked for a lean cut. When you're paying $70 for a piece of meat, I always expect that as a member and a customer I would receive a decent edible cut of meat. I expect more from this restaurant. The first cut of meat for my son was fat as well. Why would the Chef try to pawn this out on us or any customer??? Is the manager aware and just trying to save money? Well, if so, very poor business!!!

We arrived on our first dining experience here to find an ambience that is elegant and lively. The bar is the centerpiece and the booths and tables are very comfortable for a long dinner. Our waitress was very friendly and polite. She went out of her way to make us feel welcomed. Now for the food: outstanding Caesar salad to start the meal and the lamb shanks were prepared to perfection. My Jewel had a lemon pasta dish that she loved and will order again. Dessert was a warm rhubarb-strawberry cake served with a divine vanilla ice cream. I quickly realized that we should have tried this place sooner. Truly a spectacular dining adventure. We…read morereceived a very warm welcome from Andrea, who was courteous, professional, and accommodating when we requested a different table. The staff who assisted with seating and bringing silverware were also friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, our dining experience declined once our order was taken. We ordered the Beets Salad as our starter, followed by the Chicken Piccata and Salmon as our entrées. The salad arrived within about five minutes, but we then waited nearly 40 minutes for our main courses without any acknowledgment or update. When I asked our waitress about the delay, her only response was, "Your order was fired 15 minutes ago." When I asked why it had taken so long, she simply repeated the same statement. At no point did she offer a sincere apology or show any empathy for the extended wait. As someone who has owned and managed businesses, I know that delays can happen. However, a simple apology and proactive communication can make all the difference in how guests perceive the experience. The food itself was excellent, and both entrées were well prepared. Unfortunately, the service continued to disappoint. After we finished our meals, our waitress immediately cleared our plates and brought the check without asking whether we would like dessert, coffee, or anything else to finish our evening. That was surprising and made us feel rushed. I rarely leave negative reviews because I understand that every business can have an off night. In this case, however, the issue was not the kitchen delay--it was the lack of communication, empathy, and basic hospitality. Had our waitress simply apologized, kept us informed, or involved a manager, this review likely would not have been necessary. I hope management views this as constructive feedback. Andrea and several other staff members represented the restaurant exceptionally well, but I believe additional customer service training would help ensure that situations like this are handled with greater professionalism and care in the future.

We've been here a few times before and always thought it was decent. So, we made the last minute reservation online and got here 15 minutes early. When we arrived, there was a short line, but per the reservation instructions, one of my friends went in to check in while we waited outside. Friend: Hi, I'm checking in for a reservation. Bartender: What time is your reservation. Friend: 10 Bartender: What time is it now? Friend: 9:45 Bartender: Then I'll see you at 10pm. Friend came back annoyed and explained what happened. We weren't going to let this ruin our night, so we waited and were seated by the hostess. The bar itself is dimly lit and very tight. The music was loud enough that we had to almost yell to hear each other. The waiter came by soon after and was extremely friendly. We said we'd been here a few times before, but it's been a while. He refreshes our memory by saying they specialize making variations of classics. They want customers to focus on the flavors and that's why the menu doesn't list the spirit in their drinks. Also, they only make drinks on the menu because their drinks are prebatched/premade. We ask for recommendations which he was happy to give. We each order a drink and a snack for the table. As we're talking (very loudly so we can hear each other), we lose track of time before we realize that it's been 20 minutes and we haven't gotten our drinks yet. For something that's prebatched, it shouldn't take long. Before we can flag down the waiter, he comes by and apologizes that they lost our order and had to put it back in. We appreciate the honesty and say it's no problem. 5 minutes later, our drinks and food arrives. He again apologizes for the wait and has a second order of our food that he's including for free. Honestly we were ok with just the apology, but extra food too? Hell yea. Sounds like it was turning around. The drinks were okay. Not amazing, but definitely above average 3.8 / 5. The snack, bread and butter, were surprisingly good. 4.5 / 5 When we asked for the check, the waiter brought the credit card reader and told us we can swipe our card any time and left it on our table. We look at the bill and realize the waiter not only gave us the 2nd snack for free, but comp'd 2 of the drinks also. We all agree this waiter is GREAT. So why the 2 stars? Well first let me say, I would leave it at 1 star, but the waiter definitely earned them another. We wanted to pay cash, so we waited for him to come back. Instead, the original rude bartender comes by and realizes we haven't paid yet. We ask if we can pay with cash. He explains that they don't accept cash. Friend: Are you sure? *Proceeds to try to insert cash into the chip reader slot* Bartender: You're pretty stupid, aren't you? Friend: Maybe if I swipe it instead *Doubles down and proceeds to swipe the cash through the magnetic strip reader* Bartender: Wow, you really are stupid. My friend is a 100% a goofball and having fun with the bartender. It was OBVIOUS that he was joking. Was it funny? A little. Was it stupid? 100%. But for the bartender or ANY customer service staff to call a paying customer "stupid", that's simply unacceptable. We're all pretty pissed at this point and simply swipe the card and the bartender leaves. As I said earlier, we've come here a few times. We don't live especially close, but when we're in the area, we would always consider coming here. Now, there's no chance. For any business, even if your drinks and food are great, customer service can easily DESTROY your experience and that's exactly what the bartender did. Note to the male bartender with no hair: You really shouldn't be interacting with customers. You were rude from the start and have no sense of humor. Could you be having a bad day? Sure, but that's not an excuse to be rude to customers. I know management saw my original post because it was removed, probably because I referred to the bartender by his hairstyle (or lack thereof) multiple times. If they rather remove my post than deal with their bartender, that's another sign to avoid this place.
