Originally from VA, I'm pretty partial to Five Guys Burgers and Fries. My favorite thing to get here is a bacon cheese dog with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, and ketchup. MMM good! I first tried out the Flagstaff 5 Guys yesterday, around 2pm. The place wasn't extremely busy, but there were at least 7 groups sitting down eating. I waited about 4-5 minutes for my BC dog (which I don't mind doing, at least you see it getting made fresh for you!) The fries are good, too. Only thing is that it's hard to eat them all by yourself, so bring a friend! I'm giving it 4 stars because this location seemed really noisy and loud. Total mistake of orders, fries were not edible way to much salt. The burger was poorly made, very messy compared to other 5 guys. They rudely ordered me to throw away the burger after I was not satisfied. read more

I hadn't eaten at a Five Guys in over a decade. These places are expensive which is fine if the quality merits the expense. Years back, I tried a Five Guys in Columbus, Ohio and was blown away by the meal. I continued visiting restaurants in other cities but food quality was unpredictable and eventually I just gave up altogether. Intrigued by generally good reviews, I thought I would give this location a try. I am glad I did. First, the fries. I love french fries made from fresh potatoes but such fries are rare. Most places use frozen potatoes and on the rare occasion that fries are made from fresh, the place generally screws them up. Even In and Out fries are not as good as they should be since they fry potatoes once. Good fries require twice frying, a 3 minute dip in hot oil, a rest period, then 3 more minutes in hot oil. The result is is a crispy, earthy and transcendent fry that I had today. Now, to the burger. It, too was memorable. The chef plops the raw burger on the grill, flips it and smashes it down. The result is not the crispy crust one gets at Shake Shake but really just a conventional burger made from extraordinary beef, full of fat and delicious in a coronary clogging sort of way. The whole meal is an indulgence which, for the sake of health should not be often repeated, but as a treat, it's great. All Five Guys locations are not created equal. This one, however, is worth a visit. read more

Just start by saying - THIS is the best overall burger I continue to have. We generally order the "little" burger - smaller versions of the "regular" burger. Great selection of condiments to add to your burger. My wife orders her's "all the way" which includes a good selection of the toppings. I order mine more traditional with mustard, lettuce, tomato & pickle. They give you a ton of fries, so we just order a small usually. Crunchy on the outside & soft inside - perfect fries. The milkshakes are fantastic - if you have a taste for one, don't miss them at Five Guys! They also have hot dogs, a grilled cheese, veggie sandwiches, and a BLT. After ordering the food - cooked to order, it came out quickly. I've been to many a Five Guys across the great land that is the US of A. I've always known the burgers to be juicy, and the fries to be numerous. So when the large fry that I ordered for my party of seven turned out to be a small fry, I said "WTF?". The paper bag should be overflowing with fries when you order a regular fry at Five Guys, so when you drop $5 on a LARGE fry, it should look like a half dozen potatoes have been bathed in peanut oil and put into a large grocery bag. Exaggerating a lil bit, possibly, but not much. A brief conversation with a staffer and the manager, Juan, quickly corrected this oversight and brought the fry count into proper proportion for us. That's why I go to Five Guys as much as for the deliciousness and taste of home. It's the consistency. I don't think I will be able to drive into Flag without stopping here. read more

I don't get it. Every time someone mentions a Five Guys, the most common description that follows is "expensive". I had never been to a Five Guys until tonight when my sons chose it for dinner. I was excited and decided to try it with an open mind. Needless to say, I wasn't shocked when the total for a regular cheeseburger, two doubles, a large fry and three drinks was $35. I was waiting to taste the burgers until I passed judgement. My sons devoured their burgers. Mine was also very good. It was fast. The staff were very friendly and even stopped by the table to check if we needed anything. Plus it was busy. Which kind of baffles me. It wasn't a great burger, regardless of the price. Sure you could argue you will get at least the same quality at a number of other places. I just wasn't that impressed. read more

Stopped in after our drive up from Phoenix. Five Guys is basically a fast food joint, just better quality. The food is made to order with burgers, hot dogs, fries, etc. I had their burger which was good. Their fries weren't too bad either but I prefer skinny, extra crispy. Their fries have a thicker cut. The food came out hot and quick. It's not a place I'd crave but I would certainly go again. It's better than Mcdonald's. read more

Horrible customer service! Everyone looked like they were tired and hated being there. Not one smiling employee. Even had our order wrong. Four burgers all with missing condiments and even missing bacon. Had to wait 6-8 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. They stated " OH. We didn't have any bacon, it was cooking" It would of been a better experience to just let us know it would take longer but have the burgers made perfectly. Im sad. read more

I've visited this Five Guys numerous times and I have to say they have yet to disappoint. Every time I visit here I leave completely full of food. Their burgers arrive hot and juicy and they always had my fries just as hot when I get my food. The wait time is not long and the place is clean and orderly. A little pricey but as the saying goes "you get what you pay for" and I am getting good quality food every time. The staff are friendly and greet you with a smile. This is by far the best chain burger joint and I will stay a happy, full and loyal customer for as long as I live in Flagstaff. read more

I used to eat at another 5 guys location a couple years ago and absolutely loved it, so I was extremely disappointed after visiting this location for the first time. A bacon cheeseburger and reg fries was almost $16 after tax. I thought "ok, you know what it's fine, they do the "fry dump" in the bag" (most 5G take a jumbo scoop of fries and fill the cup over the bag and you basically get 2x the amount of fries that are actually in the cup.) I wasn't watching them, grabbed my bag and left, when I got home opened the bag to find my fry cup was only 3/4 full and no extra fries in the bag, not a single one. There were maybe 12 fries in the cup and I got charged $4.50 for that..... skip this place and go down the street 2 blocks to "the habit" the same meal is only $9.50 after tax read more

Ive been on a spree coming here when they open and its been a blessing. Their burgers are delicious and customizable so each burger is unique. Not only that but when you get french fries they load up your bag with them too. Definitely recommend here more than any other burger place in town. read more

I am back again to this place and snacked on my peanuts while waiting for my meal. I noticed they post where the batch of potatoes come from and for people wheelchair-bound they have easy access to the soda and iced the machines. Once again my cheeseburger wrap (2patties and cheese wrapped within a lettuce wrap for gluten-free me) were perfect with grilled mushrooms, pickles and tomatoes and the little fries still were more than enough for me today. I also had time to read many of the posters on the wall and was finding all of them to be true statements; even the one that states the music is loud....but there is something about how it is projected in this place because it feels like it is above you and not AT you....so kudos to whoever did that bit of technology. read more

They have the absolute best burgers and fries! A bit expensive, but their burgers are super juicy and their Cajun fries a must. I have visited 5 Guys 3x now and the 1st. time was served a pretty decent burger by fast and friendly staff but the fries where seriously lacking,you shouldn't be able to to bend those into the shape of an O! 2nd. visit still limp fries and fast and friendly staff but a rather overdone burger. 3rd visit I didn't bother with fries but was treated to an almost dusty burger and the staff was not what it used to be either,I was watching 4 guys standing around the grill talking while my order and one other order where waiting and one poor girl trying to clean the dinning area by herself after their busy period. It seems to me that over time food and service have taken a turn for the worst and I doubt I will return any time soon! read more

Good grief that's a big burger! The only problem with these burgers is that there is too much going on to keep them on the bun! I paid just under $10 for a double meat burger with all the choices I wanted and the most obscene amount of fries ever. I paid under $10 for lunch and thus dinner because of what I couldn't finish. The meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly and the fries were delish! Very pleasantly surprised to find that this just isn't another chain. This was my first Five Guys Burger and Fries experience and I went in with few expectations. Full disclosure- I'm not a big burger or fries fan but I was game to try a new Flagstaff food option and all my coworkers were excited and wanted to go. I opted for the little cheeseburger after learning the regular had two patties. The regular order of fries is huge and the large is ridiculous but they were kind enough to inform us of their large portions before we ordered. Even so, we were drowning in fries with 3 regular orders split among five people. It's always nice to order fries from a restaurant where bags of potatoes are waiting to be slaughtered everywhere you look but the fries (both cajun and regular) were nothing that would motivate me to order them again. The burger was tasty enough with a slice of american cheese and the unexpectedly free grilled mushrooms. Overall I'd prefer the Five Guys burger over Freddy's (unless you want a shake or sundae) in town but would always prefer Diablo Burger if given the choice. I give them credit for being on the ball their first day open. There were clearly tons of corporate people huddled in the corner and, based on my experiences with the employees, I hope the gave them all praise for their performance on the their first day open. I imagine that the proximity to NAU will guarantee brisk business and Five Guys seems set up to handle it. It's unlikely that I'll return, but those with a love affair for burgers and fries will possibly feel different. read more

I did not like the burgers at all. Was visiting from California. In and Out is much much much better. Even McDonalds is better.

Check your order before leaving. First visit to a Five Guys anywhere and they get the order wrong. Ordered a burger with bacon (costs extra), grilled onions, pickles and BBQ sauce, came home with a burger with grilled onions and pickles. Annoying even under more forgivable circumstances, but this at 7:30 at night with only three other customers in the restaurant and seven employees behind the counter (Seven. Plus two more in the dining area), not to mention an expensive menu... very disappointing. An otherwise tasty burger--missing toppings notwithstanding--earns a begrudged second star. UPDATE 2/27/12: Left the same feedback on the Five Guys website and received an email from the regional manager apologizing for my negative experience and an offer to make up for it. Gave him a call and he told me to return to the restaurant for a free meal. Stopped by this weekend with a copy of the email thinking I would have to explain the situation, but the store manager had already been contacted and knew me by name. He was very friendly and apologetic and indeed offered to comp me a meal, even going so far as to urge me to get the larger sizes of the items I ordered. No hassles, no hesitation... in fact, I was treated with the utmost respect and consideration. That level of attention to customer satisfaction seems like the exception more and more these days, and not the norm. I've changed my rating as though the original mistake never occurred. read more

I should have known not to order a grilled cheese at a burger joint, but hey I wasn't in my right mind. To make a boring story short. I ordered two grilled cheese, two drinks, and a large fry for myself and a friend. Only had to wait a few minutes and my order was up. Opened up my grilled cheese and found instead cold cheese slices between inside out buns. My thoughts WTF? Needless to say I was not happy. I know the place was busy but really? I ordered a grilled cheese, if they don't know what that is they should probably take it off the menu. Never again will I order a grilled cheese at a fast food burger place. I came here with my boyfriend a couple days ago, the regular bacon cheese burger "all the way" was really good, and (gasp!) better than In and Out. Why only 4 stars? It was really loud, really expensive for fast food ($17 bucks for 2 bacon burgers and 1 small fry) and I ordered my burger lettuce wrapped because I eat low carb and it was not as good as In and Outs lettuce wrapped burger. On the up side, the fry's were waaaay better than In and Out, the "small" was a generous portion, and like I said the taste I had of my boyfriends regular burger was definitely better than In and Out. read more
