I love this place.. This is the greasy sloppy kind of burger I love. If you love that kind of stuff this is the place to go. The restaurant is in a strip mall next to Duffy's sports pub, a Publix and a Chase bank. When you walk in, you immediately notice that everything is red and white. Cute design in the tiling. The restaurant was open and airy upon walking to the register there is piles of bags of peanuts and paper trays to scoop the free peanuts into. They offer single burgers and double burgers. I always go for the single. There are several of the usual toppings such as lettuce, tomatoes, cheese. They have grilled onions and mushrooms which are amazing. They also offer BBQ sauce and A1. Always, always get the small fries. It is a small cup but I don't think they even worry about filling it, as they put your order in a brown paper bag and then funnel the fries on top of the order. Always too many fries. The fries are fresh cut and salted perfectly. They are cooked in peanut oil. By the register it lists the farm that the potatoes came from. The tables all looked clean when we were there, as did the soda/ice tea section. Bathrooms looked very clean to me. Freshly cooked not sitting around. Good and hot stuff. Service was fast and everything was perfectly cooked. One down side was the was only ketchup packets which had some weird sticky substance on them. The food at Five Guys never disappoints, but the restaurant was very dirty when we were there. If you are going to serve peanuts, you have to have someone to clean up after the numerous customers who do not clean up their own garbage. When we arrived, the restaurant was not busy, but it was difficult to find a clean table. I tried to wash the table myself, but it was difficult with the dry napkins as the tables were encrusted with filth. read more

This is the best Five Guys in south Florida. Having frequented Five Guys in Virginia back when it was a local chain, I know what a good experience at Five Guys is supposed to be like. I've been to pretty much every 5G from PGA to Miami and none compare to this location. Orders are always correct, served hot, and look & taste as you expect from Five Guys. Ahhh, FINALLY I indulged in five guys burger and fries just yesterday afternoon! Everything I had heard about it was positive. People I trust gushed about it so I had already high expectations and waited for the right time to sink my teeth into what turned out to be one of the most mouth watering burgers I've had the pleasure of experiencing in a fast food burger joint. As others have already said you definitely can share the fries. I love my fries but I couldn't even get through a 1/4 of them. It was just under $8 for my cheeseburger and fries with tap water which was priced fairly for what you end up getting. The space is extra clean. They even make peanuts available for people to crack open and nosh on when they are waiting for their food to be cooked to order and is still in clean condition! There was a steady stream of people while I was there and I have to agree with the previous review in that the staff maintained a sense of pride in their work! There's not much more to say really other than stop reading this and run out to your nearest Five Guys Burgers and Fries & decide for yourself if you are the malt vinegar on your fries type or jalapeno's on your burger risk taker. read more

Coming out of 4 years of Miami customer service, a place like this almost feels like being in Disneyland. One employee held the door open for us as we walked in, they all smiled and asked us how are days were going. At one point I was staring vacantly, vaguely in the direction of the counter, used to the anti-social every-man-is-an-island mentality of Miami, when an employee startled me by asking if he could get me anything. It's like coming out of the desert and finding a waterfall. At first you can't suppose people could really be that nice, but then you remember that everyone isn't an asshole, and that outside of the desert people are nice for the most part. Unless you are really, really hungry, share the massive amount of "small fries" with your dining companion and get the junior burger. The difference is one or two patties. Their french fries are delicious. I don't need to know which farm in Idaho the potatoes came from...I'm not impressed by that gimmick. Where the beef came from, now that's some valuable information that I'm willing to bet they are not willing to share. The hamburgers are super greasy (they say so themselves) and therefore, very tasty. What makes these hamburgers so special is that there is nothing special about them. Bottom line, you can get your complete caloric intake for the entire day, and a soft drink, for under $8. I appreciate the sparse decor; however, the acoustics in this particular restaurant make having a pleasant conversation with your friends practically impossible. read more

When Five Guys opens another location right in Belmont MA, I can die of happiness. I've only had Five Guys in FL, so I'm not sure how large of a footprint this awesome chain has. At first glance, prices seem a little steep, until you get your GIANT burger: $4.75 for two thick patties of steaming beef, lovingly cuddled between two soft (but firm) slices of bun, with all the toppings you want: Cheese, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce.... This is how Jesus would want his burger if he had to choose today. Service is great, the fries are excellent, and they even have peanuts in the waiting line so you don't die of starvation before getting your monster burger. Every time I've been into a Five Guys, it's been crowded beyond belief. 3 PM on a Thursday? You betcha. Five Guys is the mecca for le hamburger. read more

If you are a burger lover, please try this place and ignore the negative reviews. There are a million over hyped eats in south Florida, this is far from one of them. The burger, topping selections, and fries are AWESOME. One of the best burgers I've ever had period. This place is constantly on the "Best Of" lists in DC, VA, NJ where I first ate these burgers from the Gods (and now Miami - Midtown location). To save you the trouble, here is a summary of the complaints...: "OMG they should recycle! (No, I didn't make that one up)..OMG no sweet potato fries?..OMG I had to push the trash into the can bc the lid was hard to open!..OMG the cheese was processed...the mushrooms were canned!..OMG it looks like IN-N-OUT!..OMG is that peanut oil?! OMG its greasy!!" (um, they aren't more greasy than any other great beef burger I've had). Are you people serious?! I am looking at these 2 star reviews in disbelief. This is the equivalent of me going to some veggie/tofu joint saying everything was too light, the veggies were too green, and I didn't get any grease on my salad. Five Guys opened approximately two months before I graduated from a nearby college. Had it opened a day sooner, I would have died of gluttony and utter bliss. Five Guys is God's gift to Fort Lauderdale. This is the best burger place I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing in my life. Burgers and fries are cooked to order, and a huge selection of toppings is offered at no extra charge. Since my move to California, I have been able to sample such staples as In N Out, and The Apple Pan, and nothing can compare. Any nearby visitors, tourists, or residents need to experience Five Guys as soon as they possibly can. I read the reviews and I came down for a hamburger. When I saw the storefront, I was immediately worried that this was a one-off McDonald's. I was pleasantly surprised as it was not. With an open grill/kitchen, I had every expectation of find grease in the air, the floor, tables, and anyone else inside - again, I was pleasantly wrong. At Five Guys, you stand in line at the counter to order. I was surprised at how long it took some to order as the menu is rather small -- blessing and a curse. One can order 8 variations on the hamburger, fries, and hot dogs. The variations on the hamburger revolve around 1 or 2 patties, cheese or no cheese, and bacon or no bacon. The burgers with 1 patty are billed as Kids Burgers. As a note, all hamburgers are well-done; not a deal killer so long as the burger is not dry. When it was my turn, I ordered the following items. Coke French Fries Cheeseburger - Plain Cheeseburger with jalapeño One thing I was disappointed about was the coke. The Coca-Cola company has very strict specifications for the dispensation of their soft drinks; Five Guys decided to lower the syrup content while keeping the carbonation and water at proper levels. This made for a very fizzy, yet watery soda. This is a pet peeve of mine; please, I like Coca-Cola with my burger....don't water it down! The french fries are fresh cut and freshly fried. There is very little wonder that they are always fresh. Due to the lack of menu items, the kitchen has attained a synchronus that is wonderfully efficient and quick -- nothing sits very long. The fries themselves were very tasty -- not over-salted -- and had a crispy exterior and soft interior. It is best to eat them when they are fresh as they lose their luster as they cool. My friend stated that he wasn't as smitten with them as me and that he would need to take me to get Boardwalk fries at some point. I guess I will need to re-evaluate my position when that time comes. At this time, I find the fries to be better than most. I had read the reviews about the burgers being greasy and was a bit apprehensive. Burgers will have a little grease, that is the nature of the beast, but from what everyone was writing, I had prepared myself for a waterfall. The burgers are NOT that greasy. In fact, they were quite flavorful and moist considering that they patties were so thin and well-done. Between the two of us, we only had one additional topping on the burgers, jalapeños. The jalapeños were not pickled, they were freshly cut. Knowing that the burger tastes good without a plethora of condiments, I could definitely return to eat. My only wish is that they might carry Cheddar in addition to the American cheese. That would definitely boost the rating to my palette. read more

This was the place I first fell in love with the Five Guys philosophy of burgers. The concept is not original, but it's got something going for it here. I stopped for lunch on my way back from South Florida and tried their cheeseburger with just about everything on it. It was easily one of the best burgers I have ever had. And the fries were fantastic. If you've never had their fries, be prepared. They give you a LOT (and I do mean a LOT) of fries. One of the surprising things about the fries is that, not only did I have so much left over that I took half home, but that they were just as good cold. I ate here right after reading many of my fellow Yelpers' review and immediately love the burgers. It was so good, I even got my cousin to approve the burgers the next day. This place has one of the best fries out in the world and once you top your burger with your favorite toppings, you will be asking for more. I often find myself unable to finish my regular fries because the burger filled me up. This is a great place to stop by if you're working late. Their work hours are the same Sunday through Saturday. So happy one of these opened in my home town so I don't have to wait for business trips to Florida. French frie's cooked in peanut oil, sweet mother. A small portion comes in a small unmarked white drink cup, but when placed in your non-branded brown paper bag there ends up being about 3x as many fries hanging out keeping your burger wrapped in aluminum foil nice and warm. A large portion of fries ($3.79) can easily feed 2 people. The hamburgers are quite good, definitely top 5. French fries, some of the best I've ever had. read more

I got a regular burger with all the fix-in's and fries. And I ate one peanut and then gave up on those also. In the UK we have a lot to catch up on when it comes to Burgers. If you only go to one Burger Joint whilst in the US. Then put this on your list. Burgers are two patties. You start with either plain, cheese or cheese and bacon. Then you just select the options you want on top. All the ingredients, the tomatoes, lettuce, are fresh and crispy and you can have the lot if you are INSANE or just a few.. its about 5-6$ for the burger Drinks (free re-fills and ice tea is worth a try its a good alternative to sugar drinks). Burger - Not greasy, juicy slightly char grilled and that adds to the taste given the juice in the burger the texture of the crispy outside adds to the experience. The Bun.. I have eaten a few types of burgers, fish, sandwiches etc whilst here and the bread they use is usually quite stodgy. Not here a soft bun that soaks up some of that juice(note juice is not fat, in my eyes anyhow). The Fries (or chips) - Each restaurant tells you where they are getting the Potatoes (or spuds) from. They are thin cooked in Peanut oil so not greasy at all. Skins on and crispy n outside and fluffy potatoe in the middle. Best bit is they have Malt vinegar, now this may be normal to US folk but to be able to put vinegar on my chips is a big plus. I do find it odd that every restaurant decorates its food with cheap fries and yet no vinegar is ever available. While you wait help yourself to Monkey Nuts. Cool fresh and clean interior. I have yet to see anything close to this in the UK so if you are british/European and you have been going to McD's (because it familair) or Wendy's(as its on the Radio ever 5 minutes here) with the kids.. do your kids a favour and take them somewhere decent.. then when they go home they will look at McD's in a different light. read more

What's to say?! Best quick food burger in South Florida.. and apparently most of the rest of the country. (Best Burger is Le Tub in Hollywood, but that's a VERY slow food burger, but worth the wait from time to time.) A regular is 2 patties, if you want a single patty, make sure you say so. If there are two of you, only order ONE order of fries.. they give you WAY more than any one person should eat and be able to walk. Order whatever toppings you want - they're all included. Have a few shell-and-eat peanuts while you're waiting the couple minutes it will take to get your order. This is NOT the BK-Lounge or MickeyD's, it's way better, but they don't nuke your food, so don't expect it to be ready by the time you pay and reach the end of the counter. This is not a faux-kobe beef burger, it's a real honest-to-goodness burger, so expect to use a few napkins. read more

Fries are awesome when cooked right...burgers...very inconsistent. I've had great ones, and I've had terrible ones. Cooking shows tell you never to SMASH down a burger because you lose alot of the juice. I've made my own burgers and I'm being honest that mine are 5x better I don't use a flat grill but an open grill...not that that makes the difference but I think they should be seasoned more. I vowed to never go again after my last burger tasting like nothing.... I get the JR size and not the larger burger due to my small appetite. I've heard Dune Dog down the street has better burgers so I'll have to try them out. I gave 3 stars for the fry's. read more

After hearing good things from my coworkers about Five Guys, I decided to give them a try for the first time the other day. It took me a minute to figure out the menu selection and ordering process, and since the cashier was giving me a restrained, hurry up and order gaze, I just selected the burger w/Everything combo. The large double patty burger was quite greasy (too many toppings I guess) and even though the french fries were freshly made and nice and hot, there were way too many than any one person should eat in one sitting. I felt bad discarding the leftovers. I felt it was pricey for a burger meal, but I'm sure I'll return again, since I now understand a smaller burger is available. I'll nix the "everything" and select only a few toppings and bring a friend to share an order of fries. The free peanuts were neat. I received my order quickly. There is plenty of seating in the very clean, bright and airy dining areas. read more

The thought of their Cajun fries is already making my mouth water. Five guys is my favorite burger joint in florida. Even when I receive the wrong order (a friend ordered wrong for me), the burger was still delicious and worth every calorie. I usually order: Double cheeseburger all the way with all jalapeños. The double cheeseburger is delicious. The addition of all the toppings make this burger worth coming back for day after day. Parking is easy as they share the lot with a dozen other stores in the Cordova shopping plaza, including Publix. Cajun fries are perfectly seasoned. I don't eat french fries unless they are seasoned fries. Five guys seasons them better than anyone else. The fries have a bit of a kick to them, but for me it is just right. Wow. Sitting in a smelly room full of signs proclaiming burgers better than the second coming, I am disappointed to report that this place is just awful. Seriously, my expectations were low. C'mon; its a burger! They've been done and done done by more places than I can count. Trouble is they couldn't even make my already low expectations. The problem is compounded with a girl arguing my ( and my wife's) every choice. Every item I ordered was questioned and interrupted as though the menu was incomprehensible. "I'd like a hamburger with onions and relish and an order of fries" "Do you want an order of fries or do you want to split the order with your wife"? ...and on and on Well I gave up. Five guys lost revenue and they Lost a customer. I quit arguing. I should have just asked the girl to order what she wanted. The burgers were absolutely under seasoned, gray, gross and served on below average buns. The relish was horrible, totally overwhelmed with celery seed. I had to scrape it all off. I've never tasted anything that bad. I got like, 4 tiny pieces of chopped onion. If a Quarter pounder is a '5' this was a '1' and cost twice as much. The fries were cut too large, soggy with grease, and under-cooked. Twenty five bucks for 2 burgers, 1 fries and 2 drinks! Ridiculous! That, in a noisy room full of uncomfortable seating proclaiming the best burgers In the history of the universe. However, I was disappointed to find that there was only ONE ACTUAL "GUY" working there, and he wasn't even cooking the burgers he was out in the dining area sweeping shit up. I went to 5GB&F today for lunch, the rush was dying out by the time we arrived. I was with one my friends, "Bonito, The Spice Boy". I was anxious to get my hands on the much lauded fries. Anticipation! Anyhow I ordered my single patty burger without mushrooms but it came with mushrooms. I returned it, it was promptly discarded (I got a visual on that). They quickly brought me out a new burger which had two patties and the rest of my toppings. I figured they were comping me an extra patty, OK. Even though I used the appropriate pressure to prevent this from the start, the whole thing fell apart in the middle of consumption. I had to resort to limited burger movements, zen-burger-balance and that old standby of emergency techniques, the face-over-plate maneuver. I did successfully execute, the burger was consumed, and I enjoyed its taste. The copious serving of fries were really, really good. Bonito said "...way to salty at the bottom of the bag.", I thought the salt was fine. Matter of preference? Maybe. "Why a three?" you say. ++I had to come in contact with way to much of the overflowing garbage can and its contents in order to insert my waste into it. ++You have to get my order correct to even come close to four stars. Comp or not. If I ordered for a group and each order was different, and I was drunk, and I had a thick accent. I would understand. This was not the case. ++ Burger set to auto-destruct. ++ The prep cook was laughing up a storm back there while she put shrooms or my burger, maybe she should focus a little more on the task at hand ++ Man it was loud in there, I didn't hear any music.
