Ordered food at the kiosk and it didn't go through 3/4 times. Changed cards. Asked my friend to try. Rude guy behind the counter shouted it won't work because I'm trying to order a shake. You can't order a shake from the kiosk, you have to come over here with an attitude. After being charged a couple of times for the meal, I simply asked why they don't have a sign on the kiosk saying that's what the problem was and to warn other customers so they don't get charged multiple times. The man behind the counter was very very rude and ran away to get his manager. This fast food outlet is located inside Terminal 3 Gate F of Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport. There were plenty of seats inside. There are kiosk machines to order, or you can line up and place your order. We got the original doube cheese n fries $5.29. The double burger with cheese pickles and onions was so good. The fries were also really good as well. Compared to other restaurant options, this place beats everyone, including BK. Exceptional food and fast service. A much needed milkshake at an abysmally hot airport. We had a six hour layover at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood airport on a particularly hot day and these Milkshakes saved us from overheating. These were by no means the best shakes, but extremely appreciated nonetheless. They were on the more pricey side as can be expected of airport food chains, and though the airport was packed the servers were quick. I ordered a plain Vanilla Shake and it was decent, tasting mildly of freezer burn and with bits of ice that I had to chomp on every couple of sips. My fiancé ordered the Butterfinger Shake and it was pretty yummy. I wouldn't be surprised if it had that same freezer burn taste and ice issue, but in the couple of sips I had it was masked by the Butterfinger taste and crunch. Though I preferred his, I still appreciated mine immensely. If we ever stop through this airport again and it has another air conditioning issue, we will definitely grab a couple more shakes from this Steak 'n Shake. This was one of the only options to eat in the FLL airport and I'm still perplexed why they close at 7pm, that's too early in my opinion. This location is within the food court section and has one register, the line was quite long, I'm guessing probably because they were one of the last restaurants open at the time but the staff was able to move the order line pretty quickly. Waiting on your meal is another story, there was only one staff member cooking all the burgers and sides, i'm not sure if this is normal staffing or if they are short but adding another team member would considerably increase efficiency and improve the customer experience. However within 20 minutes of finishing everything my stomach started to churn and I immediately started throwing up. In retrospect I believe that the whipped cream may have been bad on the shake because it tasted really sweet. There are so many flights until 11pm it would be nice if all restaurants were open til 10-11pm. Maybe closing early due to the pandemic? The line was long but the employees were very friendly! First impressions, it's fairly new only a few years old. However the floors are dirty, hey it's Friday and I get there are a lot of passengers inside the airport but yikes those floors need some cleaning up of spilled ketchup , napkins, etc. I decided not to order here since I was not in the mood for their fries or milkshake etc. Yet, Sam M was in the mood of their cookies and cream milkshake. I've been here more times than I'd like to count (#1), which is *almost* as many times as I've been stranded at Fort Lauderdale Airport. The options here at Terminal 3 aren't vast, which means at some point my eventual hungry will lead me to make some potentially bad decisions (#2). Many bad decisions. In the Concourse F section of Terminal 3, it's essentially a pseudo food court with options limited to Einstein Bros, Pei Wei Asian Diner, and Plane Food Box Company. Steak 'N Shake for some reason just seemed more appealing than the rest. Sometimes an overpriced burger and fries is like pizza, it's still good when bad. Plus, they're open a full hour later than the rest (10pm), which means sometimes they're the only choice. But the misses I've had over the years with their burgers have been more frequent than the hits (if any). I have essentially deduced their double cheeseburger (i.e. The Original) is their best option, despite the cheese being super questionable (runny?) at times. The fries are passable, but certainly aren't great on their own. The breakfast is far better than the lunch / dinner though. The hashbrowns and breakfast sandwiches makes this place semi-okay in the grand scheme of things. This of course is relative to the rest of the menu, which is pretty stacked. Lastly, Floridians are usually pleasant folks, but the people here are often devoid of any quality customer service. Perhaps I'm floating an impossible goal of bringing a good attitude to any service related job, or perhaps it's just super depressing to work here.
