Great burgers, excellent fries, and hearty portions. This place is spic-and-span and well run. All the guys who work here are friendly and cheerful; they want your business and they want you to be happy! My only suggestion is to try buns that hold up to the patties a little better. After picking up the burger a few times, the bun just completely fell away. Also, I like grilled buns - it's a California thing... Great food at a great price! read more

Five Guys are one of the best quick serve restaurant concepts around. They stick to what they do best...hamburgers, hot dogs and fries. (And peanuts!) I used to book flights through Dulles airport in DC just so I could eat at a Five Guys...and then they went national and now I don't have to! Excellent. Great fries, fresh cut and flavorful. The last time we were there, two of us had burgers, one had kosher hot dogs. The burgers were perfect and satisfying, and the hot dogs, which were split and grilled, had that wonderful toasty taste. Service was friendly and quick. Wow! Love Five Guys burgers but al a carte pricing at The River location is steep! $4 and change just for fries. Yes, you get a lot of fries... $9.50 for a cheeseburger. Add drink, your up to $16 plus. But still a good burger stop. One word of advice.... stop sweeping the floor when customers are eating. I hate how people compare disgusting "in & out" with five guys. The quality of meat, bread and ingredients that five guys uses is well surpassed in and out. The French fries are ALWAYS fresh no matter what. I've had some fries from in and out that tasted like they were cooked 3 hours prior to my eating there, absolutely awful. Five guys uses the best bacon that restaurants can buy and it's completely noticeable with quality of taste. I just love how you can customize your burgers, hot dogs and grilled cheese anyway you want with however much toppings you want and it never seizes to "hit the spot". People that claim in and out is better don't know real quality food over processed preserved food. read more

I really don't get how this place has gotten so many "best of ..." Awards. My burger was a soggy mess when I got it and it completely disintegrated early on while I was eating it. Music was so loud you can't have a conversation. I'm allergic to peanuts so that did not impress me either. Menu was too simple. read more

Fresh burger made to order. Friendly service and clean environment. Cool Soda machine that you can mix different sodas. Free roasted peanut is fun to try some. Burgers were delicous and fries are good too. Plenty of parking at The River shopping center. Price is reasonable. read more

Their burgers are absolutely amazing. I was on my lunch break and was in a rush and unfortunately some of the workers were to busy talking amongst themselves to notice that their were customers. One of the workers was sleeping in the booth and the other two were gossiping. I was ten minutes late from my break because I was waiting for them to finish my burger. I went to Five Guys because I'd read the hype and wanted to taste what many had said was the best burger they've had. First off, the place was packed and it was very casual and comfortable fast food dining. Bags of potatoes lined the walls along with signs from all over the country touting the greatness of the burger and fries. The food was a bit on the expensive side, but to be fair, the burgers are quite large and filling. You have a choice of what you want on your burger. No combos here, everything is a la carte. The burger was okay. 2 hand formed patties on a large sesame seed bun. The fries were awful. Very greasy strips of potato stuffed in a paper drink cup. The fries were the worst I've had. My 10 year old loves french fries and would not eat these. I don't think I'm picky as I've spoken with others and most everyone agrees about the fries. I'll probably go back for the burgers, but the fries won't be on my list. read more

The first time I thought it was awful but it was right after they opened, so I decided to give it a second chance recently. In a nutshell, I thought the burger was the most disgusting burger I have ever eaten anywhere, in any establishment. Greasy, with no redeeming flavors. Our hamburgers weren't horrible but I imagine they would have tasted much better if they were made how we ordered them. There were maybe a total of 5 people in here, so not busy at all, and both of our hamburgers were wrong. I double checked our receipt and made sure it was correct, it was very clear. Staff wasn't great to say the least. When I told them about it they said they would talk to the people making the burgers and they were sorry. I will spend $25 on 2 burgers, a fry and coke elsewhere next time read more

I was in the area and wanted a quick meal. So I stopped here. Had a burger and fries. It was pretty good and the staff was decent, nothing to complain about. What took off stars and really turned me off was the place is so unattractive and dirty looking as were the customers that were in there. I truly felt like I did not want to sit there and eat. In'N'Out burger in La Quinta is just as good or better, half the price with a bright, cheery upbeat staff and customers to match and easier parking as well. Next time I will take the short drive to La Quinta as it is an all over more positive experience. read more

Not sure what the hype is about. Everything is a'la'carte and fairly pricey. The eight dollar burger was not large, and the "free" toppings were scarce, but it was a tasty burger. Nothing terribly impressive about the tepid french fries. We enjoyed our complimentary peanuts during the 35 or so minutes we waited for our order to be bagged (bagged?? eat-in, not take-out...?) The ketchup dispensers were empty and the skeleton staff was scrambling just to survive, so the cook pointed to ketchup packets next to the straws. All of the tables were filthy and sticky, trash cans overflowing. Management needs to be reprimanded bigtime. The nice fellow behind the microphone thanked everyone for their patience...but I will save my pennies and my calorie budget for In-N-Out, far superior food and service. I am noticing that every review over the last 3 months states that they are understaffed, and obviously no one cares. read more
