What can I say nothing beats IN-IN-OUT from california but this burger is more like something you would get at an awesome BBQ or a homemade burger. It doesn't have that mass produced taste from fast food. It seriously taste good. I try mine with all the black toppings plus A-1 sauce I always get the little cheeseburger because that always seems to be normal size for me. Now this is the 2nd to the best burger I have had so that's the reason the rating is so high but seriously you make your burger here so its up to you if it ends up being good or not depending what you put on it. Got a bacon cheeseburger and fries with the usual fixins (no unique condiments here). The fries were delicious and freshly cut, and the bacon was extra crispy. The burger patties, however, are small; if you order the regular burger, it comes with two patties. Maybe small is your forte, but I'm just not a fan of places where you have to order a double or triple to get your fill. Also they don't have combos so be prepared to pay 12 bucks for a burger, fries and a drink. If you're hungry for a good burger, just go to Whataburger. read more

I called, the person didn't give a name but wanted to know mine when I asked for a manager. Then placed on hold over 5 minutes. Call back, another minute and a half on hold, finally get David - Manager. I asked this same question of him, the response " I assume so ". I questioned back " you assume so ? Had heard so much about 5 guys. Only had their Cajun fries so figured it was time to try the burgers. Ordered online because, you know, convenient. I had to run a few errands so I ordered and was able to set a pick up time. Pretty cool. They do have a lot of toppings to choose from, which is nice. Always overly generous on the fries...also nice. The burger wasn't too impressive. It was pretty sloppy. I had to arrange all my veggies in the burger. Also, my order wasn't ready at the time I had put. Someone (I'm assuming a manager) said it would be a few minutes bc they were understaffed and offered a beverage. No big deal, I expected to wait a few minutes since the website says the fries aren't made til you order. Sure, it was busy but I waited 15 min for a Little Cheeseburger and Little Cajun Fries. I might as well have ordered it there. Probably would have gotten it sooner. Overall, they get 4 stars. The fries are good and you get extra. Customer service was pretty good. This is my go to when I want a fast food burger. They cook there patties after you order and the meat is fresh not frozen. Their fries are good and ordering the little fry is enough to share with another person. If you aren't going to eat there, I suggest ordering online so you don't have to wait. This is my first visit to a Five Guys Burger place and I am very critical of my burgers, so much so that I won't even eat them usually. I got the bacon cheeseburger, regular sized which means 2 patties, and it was absolutely delicious. The only problem with the burger is the bun was the normal cheap sesame bun that most burger joints always use but it got soggy fast as it could not stand up to the other ingredients. The meat itself was so flavorful and juicy... I also got the cajun fries and they were perfectly crispy but possibly over seasoned. I took them home and added farmer's market liquid queso and diced purple onion and I must say it was AMAZING. I assume some people are giving bad reviews because of the cost of the burgers which is like $8, high but worth it. There are old school diner places like Oma's in Waxahachie, Keller's Drive-in in Dallas, that still make burgers just as good as this but half the price. read more

Great burger with fresh beef and veggies. Double patty on the bottom, where it belongs. Loaded with lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions and mushrooms. Almost too big for your mouth but it's a perfect ratio of ingredients. DO NOT attempt to eat and drive with one, it is messy. The fries are cut fresh and thick. oh my goodness. oh my dayum! I'm not really a burger and fries girl. But every now and then i get a hankering. When i do, it's usually for 5 guys. The meat is always juicy, the bun is soft and the cheese is always mellty. Exactly what this girl would want in a burger. Plus i can add grilled onions and mushrooms? yes, please. I'm not a big fan of the fries but they are fresh cut and cooked and served in HUGE piles (aka: you don't need a large.) My other favorite thing? the peanuts. yup. those shells on salted peanuts. Very average burger for a not so average price. Fries are inconsistent at this location. The bacon cheese dog is tasty and the only reason I've gone several times. So why even bother writing a review - because I have a very special request. Its been touched on by a few other reviewers, but the decibel level inside this place is unbearable. I love Five Guys... and I ate at this location more than I like to say... But, it has been at least four weeks without them having pickles on the menu. I know that this seems like a little thing, but for me, pickles are a necessary thing. I just don't understand how it takes that long to get more pickles, even if they had run out the day they got them. Heck, there is a Sam's down the road... They sell pickles there! This wasn't a big deal when I first went and didn't get them, but the fact that it has been four weeks and still it has not been rectified is crazy. The last time I went, I actually laughed before we got there about calling to "ask for pickles" but thought there was NO way they wouldn't have them. When I last asked about them, the cashier just said that they were on order. There was no apology or brief explanation of why it would take four weeks to get pickles in (I specifically called out that it had been four weeks). I work at the giant computer company down the road (I am sure you know the one) and I train people on customer experience and how to diffuse a situation. An apology, explanation, or even him trying to rectify the situation by asking if relish would work (in my case it wouldn't, but it would show that he cared and was at least trying) would have made it a little better (not understandable, because it has been four weeks.. I just don't understand). I also saw that pickles are listed as an option to order online, so that makes it seem like they are available. What do you do if someone orders online? Just make the burger sans pickles. I know it seems silly to write this review about pickles, but it seems that something could have been done to negate this issue since everyone at the store probably knew how long it was going to be before more came in. Heck, if you had said "Sorry, we are out of pickles and won't be getting some until December 20th, 2024 (or whatever)" then at least my expectations would have been set to begin with. read more

This is only the second Five Guys location I have been to and this was my third visit overall. Generally a good experience. The burgers and fries take a little while to cook but you get it all piping hot and fresh. That is great! It is made to order with your choice of toppings. Heather helped us out at the register on our most recent visit. She was friendly and helpful. She even pointed us to the post cards and crayons so my daughter could make a contribution to the artwork. This location is incredibly convenient for me as I am always at Target and frequent the Discount Tire across the way. Looking forward to going back! read more

Failed every test I give a burger place: Can you taste the beef through the grease? Do the buns compliment the burger or just hold it together? Do the fries stand on their own or need ketchup? I had such high hopes for this place after reading the propaganda on their website. I even suggested that my work group go there. The suggestion was met with "Oh, I love that place!". Sure these people are not known for their culinary sensitivity but I was craving a burger. A good, greasy yet satisfying burger. You know, like Mooneys on 183 and Anderson Mill. The place smells like grease, takes a while to fix your burger but you leave satisfied. Most gourmet-ish burger joints in Austin are like this, no regrets, just simple indulgence. The burger itself..a nice surprise seeing two patties in there..but where's the flavor? Grilled mushrooms could have come from a can. Anytime you catch yourself saying "I can make it better at home" you know you''re probably not going to come back. Whats with the soggy fries? Peanut oil is supposed to make them good or flaccid and weak? Anyway, dont believe the hype. A Jumbo Jack at Jack in the Box actually tastes better and has a level of refinement higher than 5 Guys.
