Got the Hat Creek burger with cheese which is double meat. Burger was good just a little small but the buns are grilled so that's a big plus. May have selections that are larger but we all got the same burger of those that chose burgers. One in our party got a Cobb salad and said was good and one had Turkey Patty with Avacado and didn't much care for it. The fries were good and ample size for the meal deal. They have gluten-free buns and lettuce wraps. They have sweetened and unsweetened tea. They have salads. They have turkey burgers, they have so many things! Ive visited this location twice. My first experience was okay since my order was messed up. I had to wait longer to get the food but the staff happily accommodated me and fixed the mistake. My second visit was much better and the experience was great. We even got two extra shakes since they made too much for another order...glad I only ordered two for a party of 4! The best part of coming to to this location is the playground. It's great to let the kids run around and play while getting a bit of a break. This is not your ordinary burger place. It sits right on Palm Valley Road just a short walk from the Dell diamond. They have a large outdoor kids play scape area and every where you turn is a flat screen. There's actually a lot more outdoor seating than there is indoor. I was surprised to see that they had four craft beers on tap, including some very decent wine choices (not Sutter Home and similar crap). Their menu features a lot of different burger options, and they have three additional sauces at the condiment counter. Their standard big hat double cheese is worth every penny. However, the veggie burger must've been deep fried judging by all the grease that came off on the napkins. It should be noted that all their sides are gluten-free. Unfortunately, they do not offer onion rings as a side, but they do have tater tots. The counter serice was friendly and informative. And for once, it was refreshing to not be hit with the tip screen trying to pry additional cash out of you for simply ordering at the register! This is the third Hat Creek Burger Company location I've visited. It's laid out a little differently than the San Marcos or Belterra locations. For one thing there are two dining rooms. At the other locations the outside rooms share open space with the play yard, but at this location it's more of a garage door arrangement. The food is good but the attention to the dining facility leaves a lot to be desired. Table clean up is non-existent unless you do it yourself. The condiments area is a shambles. Sure we were there at Friday dinner rush but that's also when you should be focusing your efforts. And of course the downside of leftover food lying around is that the flies rule. This is reminiscent of my experience at the Belterra location where flies were rampant. I realize it's hard to prevent flies in an open air situation but it's not hard to clean the place up either. On a positive note, they often text specials for their loyalty customers. The night we went there was a $1 hot dog offer. The dogs were a great deal; the milkshake my girlfriend ordered not so much because it was small and expensive for what you got. Unless we're chasing another special I don't think we'll go back anytime soon. Recommended for families only read more

This chain has a few key pieces that set them apart from other "fast food chains" in the area and they have scored a wonderful location here specifically. It's a great place to take your kids! They have a large play area in the front of this location and plenty of shaded picnic table seating. In this area they have tvs outside as well in case you trying to watch a sports game (and also your children). I love that they serve some local beers on tap and in cans. Even if the parking lot is full they are next to a retail strip of business with more parking. The Chicken Nuggets and the Big Hat burger with fries(nice and salty) is what I usually order. I recently tried the Fredericksburger and was enjoyable but you'll definitely need more Happy Sauce to add on to it. The Happy sauce and the fry sauce are the best. We've tried the tater tots here and they were pretty mushy so we've stuck to fries or sweet potato fries from here since then. We went on a weekday night about 6pm and although there were plenty of families we received our fresh items fairly quickly, only about 10 minute wait. The man working behind the counter got everything ready for us that he could and while waiting for our food to be cooked kept himself busy and moving making sure the interior dining area was clean and everything in order. read more

The food is a solid 2, with your average burger and fries, maybe some chicken nuggies. We did try to come for breakfast a couple times, and they say they open at 7am, but were not open... so that was a little disappointing. The atmosphere is fantastic for kids. Like... that's the reason you come here, and they know it. Get the energy out! Like a modern day McDonald's over here! To say the employees don't care about service at all is an understatement though. Last time we were here, we ordered shakes at 2pm and they came out melted. Like lukewarm melted. Gross. This place is so gross. The entire restaurant was filthy. The whole drink and condiment station was dirty with old ketchup smeared everywhere. The bathrooms smelt awful and needed a cleaning. The outside patio had food under all the tables, trash everywhere, all tables dirty. We should have just left but the kids really wanted to play. Somehow we managed to waste $45 on 2 kids meals, and 2 adult meals with a beer. The food was also gross. Service wasn't great. Wish we would have just gone to an actual restaurant. One of the best Hat Creek locations. The play scape area is huge! There is a ton of seating outside and a few tables inside. This place gets crowded on the weekends. Definitely a family friendly location. There were so many birthday parties there the weekend we came, what a great idea for a birthday party too. There was a fair amount of parking when we got there although it did get very crowded when we were leaving. The food was on par with other locations.
