Gave this place a second chance and still disapointed . Over Priced sloppy made Burger .. No Combos on the Menu which makes the Price of the Meal $$$$$. If you like Mighty Fine burgers, you will enjoy Five Guys. It's the same classic burger concept, but slightly different menu. I enjoyed a double patty burger (which is their regular burger) and my wife enjoyed the small burger (which is 1 patty). Vegetables on the burger were crisp and fresh. No winter tomatoes, wilted lettuce or strong onions. As for the meat, I would say it was very good quality meat. Patties are a little smaller than somewhere like Red Robin, but I really enjoyed the hand made patties and they were really juicy. Not sure why I liked the burgers a little better than Mighty Fine, but the overall taste of meat ,vegetables, sauce and bun were just right. Additionally they seem to excel in fries also. Very classic, fresh cut natural fries. You can get them in spicy or regular. Both were good. My kids thought it was interesting that they have a board which indicates which farm the potatoes for the day came from. Also, the kids thoroughly enjoyed their hot dogs. Five Guys serves 2-3 different styles of hot dogs (chili, cheese, bacon) which is more than some places. Our family spent $30 on the following: large burger, small burger, 2 hot dogs, large fry and 4 soft drinks. In comparison, we normally spent $24 at McDonalds and usually someone ends up being sick. The restaurant is located just off I-35 at the entrance for Best Buy. Finally the atmosphere was friendly and busy. Restaurant was obviously clean because it's been open just 1-2 weeks. The food was great! We saw the associates wash their hands and then put gloves on, that was awesome! You never know what people do in a hidden kitchen. The large Cajun style fries fed 3 of us. This was my first time trying Five Guys and I was somewhat underwhelmed. For the price I really expected more. Not that the burger wasn't good...it was...although I wasn't crazy about the fries. That was the problem though...it was good and when I spend that much (don't remember exactly) I really want more than "good." Besides, I don't eat burgers much...take up waaaaay too many WW points to be worth it...so next time I decide to indulge I will probably be skipping Five Guys and heading for Mighty Fine. read more

For a while now I have been hearing about how awesome Five Guys is and I had just never made it in there. Finally I stopped in recently, ready for the greatness I had heard about. I liked that their menu was simple and you just asked to add any toppings you wanted. I did not like that it cost me $12 for a burger, fries, and a drink, I couldn't believe it. I sat down and ate some of the complimentary peanuts, they were good. I got my food pretty fast and was surprised by the gigantic portion of fries in the bag. Unfortunately, the fries were some of the worst I have ever had and had to smother the few that I ate in ketchup. Luckily the burger was pretty good and filling but I have had a lot of other better burgers in town. Definitely over-hyped and I would never recommend it to anyone. read more

I won't eat here again... Ordered 1 Bacon Cheese Burger for 10.40$!!!!!! So i expected a decent burger at least...!!! In less then 5 minutes my burger is ready... Cheese is ice cold, bun is cold, and no bacon................ I say hey guys there's no bacon here...So they initially offered to make a new burger until someone stepped in and suggested they "cook" a side of bacon for me...(I should of demanded a new burger)... but i was feeling nice and said "yeah that's fine I'll take the bacon on the side". So in a few seconds i'm handed a tin foil with a big wad of COLD BACON in it.... over 10$ for a COLD BURGER.... Absolute rip off and absolute crap employees... McDonalds is better quality foord and service then this, and I'm dead serious... yet i'm paying double what i would pay there. The burgers are really very good. The atmosphere is lacking. Too much tile makes the acoustics horrible and it gets louder than a mickeyD pretty easily. The french fries suck. I think they're cutting them and throwing them straight into the oil which would explain why they are limp, squishy and darkish brown with a slightly burnt taste. I don't get what the big deal is. Yes their burgers are good. You can add a good amount if fixings/toppings as you like. But the menu is very limited. I am not a fan of their particular style of fries, big and soft. Others may like this type which is basically homestyle fries. For my money I prefer Mighty Fine. One hit wonder...not coming back. The burgers and Fries were not bad, a little above average. I'm giving a low rating for pricing. This place is EXPENSIVE! It was a bad sign when you had to order everything individually (no combo). For Burger, Fries and Drink...$15. Most people do not want to spend that much on lunch. They do give a lot, but its very unnecessary. I ate about 65%, rest leftovers. You can get the same at Fruddruckers for about $11ish... McDonalds $6ish. Tried this eatery out today. It was my first time to this locatino and first time to Five Guys. The keys to this place is: * Go with someone - not alone * Know your menu. Today, I went solo, ordered cheeseburger, fries, and a fountain drink. Pretty basic stuff, n'est-ce pas. Total tab $12.10. I thought "Whoa pardner, pretty pricy." They have free peanuts in the shell, but I thought that seemed a poor exchange for high prices. It turns out: A cheeseburger is actually a double cheeseburger - normal cheeseburger is "little cheeseburger," and is a buck-fitty cheaper. Regular (no size smaller) fries would feed three hungry people. I wondered why they would cost $3.09 by themselves - they're just spuds. BTW - they add the burger toppings at your direction. The burger was fine, but nothing special. I ate about 1/3 of the fries which appeared to be cut in the store and fried very well (probably double fried, just a guess.) If I go back, I'll bring a friend who wants to split the fries and will opt for the "leedle" cheeseburger. YMMV. read more

I bought a cheeseburger, regular fry and a drink cost me 13.80 with tax. oh but I made sure I got all the free peanuts I could eat. save your money and make a great burger at home, all these people are getting insanely rich off our laziness. it's really disgusting how we have gotten so lazy we are paying for it everywhere we go now. we really need to stop and think first. if these people were more concerned about making a good burger at a good reasonable price it would be a place I would go to, but they all just care about the dollar and that's it. really sad. really sad! read more

This review is just for the Round Rock location. We have had Five Guys at the UT and Arboretum locations which were both excellent so we thought all would be good. Not so much. Got the bacon cheese burger. The bacon was almost burnt and the cheese was so cold that it was just like eating it out of the package straight from the refrigerator. The bun was very cold as well. This location needs a training session. If we go back to this location it will be a while. read more

First time eating there this evening. The bacon cheeseburger was really good and so was my chocolate milkshake. The things I didn't like ... It was freezing inside the restaurant from the moment I walked in. I even asked an employee if it was always that cold, and the employee just looked at me and didn't respond. When my order was ready I walked back to the counter and picked up the brown bag it was in. I'm not complaining on the amount of fries that were in the bag, but how was I supposed to comfortably eat when I didn't have a tray (which are not provided or anywhere in site) to pour this large amount of fries onto? A small order of fries can feed probably 4 ppl. My cheeseburger was at the very bottom of the bag w TONS (no joke) of fries piled on top. I asked an employee if they had something I could place my food on, like a tray. His response was 'here's another piece of foil' as if I knew I was supposed to dig to the bottom of the bag and pull out the cheeseburger and use that foil for my fries. The fries barely fit on the foil given to me ... I'm telling you ... The amount of fries is insane. There is no way my cheeseburger and fries would have all fit on one piece of foil. What I would do differently if this were my business. For starters I wouldn't have the restaurant feeling so cold to the point it was freezing. Secondly, I would serve all food on a tray, AND have fries in their own bag/holder. I definitely think this place needs to improve on how they deliver food to customers. If I wanted food delivered to me in a 'to go' style I would have stopped at a fast food restaurant. I went in hoping to be very impressed, but walked out not satisfied overall. A bacon cheeseburger, small fries and small shake came to almost $16. Definitely not worth it. read more

These burgers taste like home made - great! I've always been a fan of 'skin-on' fries and Five Guys Burgers and Fries are the best! They have a lot of burger customization options too so you can get exactly what you want. I eat here at least one a week. read more

Sadly, this Five Guys consistently disappoints - and badly so. I've visited many Five Guys, and this one does not meet food quality preparation standards for the chain. Just bought fries that were so salty, half-done and soggy from this location they weren't edible. Ridiculously bad fries. I had to come home and roll the fries in paper towels to get the salt off and heat up oil and cook them. The burger was just okay; nothing special. That's right at $10 for the terrible fries and just okay burger. Suggest Five Guys management in Round Rock visit better-rated Five Guys to find out how to cook to the chain's standards. I just dined at Five Guys in Baton Rouge, La., and the crispy fries and burger were fabulous. Wish Round Rock Five Guys, which has long served poorly prepared food, was half as good. I won't be going back to RR Five Guys for a very long time. Mighty Fine Burgers or Greenhouse Craft Food is a better choice in Round Rock for burgers and fries. There is no doubt they have a decent burger, so why the poor review? Well, if you come here for lunch and expect to return to work on time, that's not going to happen. We have an hour for lunch, and we were almost late getting back every time, and we work less than a mile away! One cashier at lunchtime?? We waste so much time in line. Then at our most recent visit, our order gets messed up and we have to wait for a redo. We then have to quickly chow down our food to get back to work on time. Again, decent burgers. But horribly run, especially at a busy time like lunch. read more
