Went today to get fries for lunch and they were so yummy! I've been here a few times before, and the staff is always really sweet and friendly. I was a bit nervous to order but the cashier was smiling and in a good mood which made me feel more comfortable. The tables were clean, the counter with condiments was clean, and the drink machine was clean! Fries were delicious as mentioned before, super fresh and salty! Also would like to note it only took maybe 4 minutes for my fries to be done, so really fast service! Got a regular for $7, could've probably fed 3 people, definitely worth it!! read more

Serious Food Safety Warning for Five Guys Customers On October 25, 2024, I visited Five Guys and experienced a horrifying incident. After eating part of my burger, I noticed an overpowering smell of toilet/ urinal cleaning chemicals, a mouthful of hair, and dirt. Immediately, my mouth began dissolving, and I became sick. I got a refund employee's were laughing at me & I called the police, subsequent investigation revealed that an employee used my food to clean the drain in the back kitchen in the floor sink and then returned to serve it. Video footage confirmed these unsanitary actions. Despite this, Five Guys and their insurance team have refused to take responsibility and have withheld full footage, sharing only incomplete, edited clips. read more

Never Order Ahead! So I Ordered ahead. My burger was was not fresh! It didn't have bacon on it. I checked my receipt. I definitely ordered little bacon cheeseburger. The next morning massive vomiting and diarrhea. I had food poisoning. I Only ate two bites of my burger because it was so disgusting. That burger must have been sitting out for hours before I got it. I've been to this Five Guys many times, and within the last two years it has worsened. The Ppl making the burgers are not putting exactly what you ask for on your burger. Five Guys are known to dump a large amount of fries in your bag, no matter the size you order. Not at this location anymore. It seems as if management told them to measure the amount of fries. The price went up, but the quantity of food has decreased at this location. These guys need to do less talking among themselves and get the order right, and fill them bags up with fries like the good old days. read more

I live in Jersey, but have business in Stroudsburg frequently so thought I would drop in for a burger and fries. BIG MISTAKE. The Burger was ok, but took a really long time but the fries were not fresh and salted to the point they were inedible (and I like salty) and the portion size was small (for 5 guys). On top of that, for some inexplicable reason a large cheeseburger and large fries is about 25% higher than NJ where pretty much everything is more expensive.‍. My brother and husband love five guy's burgers. This was my first time actually trying the burger - and I would say it was good. I think the real draw for me would be the fries. They are delicious. I believe they are cooked in peanut oil, and then they serve them to you in a big brown bag. We shared the large bag between 3 of us and it was just enough! I also think it's pretty cool that they have peanuts for you to eat while you are waiting for your food. If you have a peanut allergy I would avoid this place. I don't know how it would be possible to get anything that wasn't in contact with peanuts. read more

I used the order online option, with the delightful warning that you will wait five minutes while they cook your fries, to be sure they're fresh and hot. After checking in at the pick-up point, I entered the restaurant 25 minutes later, visibly angry, I guess. The shift manager looked a little panicked as he plucked my bag from a worker, who had been tossing fries into my bag--compensation for the wait, I guess. We had ordered the big burgers, which were nothing but two little pre-fab patties. Both were grey. With the large fries and two burgers, our bill was about $32. I had thrown in a $7 tip when ordering online; I tip heavily in the covid era. I regretted that, since no one seemed really concerned with my eating experience. When you ask for a cheese burger, they give you a double cheese burger. Instead of a double or single , you have to ask for a little burger or large burger. I rarely if ever give bad reviews but how the once great have fallen. I used to look forward to eating at 5 Guys. Today will be my last. A small burger, fries and drink for $15.00? And at a fast food counter? They are outta their minds. I could get a burger with fries and beer for less at Chili's or Red Robin. And with more interesting toppings. On top of that no trays for the peanuts. Maybe a good thing since they were stale. Throw in the surly kid working the counter and 15 minute wait for my food. Well, I was challenged to revisit Five Guys, and today I took them up on the offer. Sadly the net result was mixed. There were areas that improved, but as far other areas the fall really cost them. Let me start with my first gripe from the initial review. Pricing, still VERY expensive for what they are; a double bacon, regular fry and a large drink is near $13 bucks. The burger was VASTLY improved, however. It was not greasy, or difficult to hold, while being loaded with the toppings I wanted. One star improvement from my last review on that alone. The fries were still plentiful and hot/fresh. There were register issues, and the crew was doing their best to make it right for the customers, big plus. However the carriage and demeanor was not genuine. It was like they were doing what they were trained to do, not really caring one way or the other. Maybe it's easier to say, they lacked any personality. Now the bad news, where the restaurant gave the impression of being dirty, in my last visit. This time it was just plan DIRTY. I arrived prior to 5PM, so there should have been plenty of time to clean up and make the place look less 'trashed'. Granted we as customers can do our part to tighten up after ourselves. Still... I was trying NOT to be critical, but at this price point I couldn't look past it. The black runners by each door were just loaded with crud. Dirty tables, and floors that could have used a sweeping too. In reality, the cleanliness and the 'meh' attitude of the service team didn't help at all. read more

This is by far my favorite "fast food" style place for a burger. They are great gut bombs that you know are bad for you after the first bite but you can't stop! This was a "happy accident" find for us our way to NYC. My bacon cheeseburger (two patties with everything) was a handful and a mouthful. My wife's "little" cheeseburger was just the right size. Both were fresh, juicy and tasty. The fresh cut fries, while not crispy, were very flavorful. I swear every time I'm there, I see at least 1 employee running around cleaning (which is a lot to say for most chain restaurants). As far as burger chains go (chains being the pivotal word), 5 Guys may be as good as it gets. That being said, I don't think I know a food chain that I could give a 5/5 to, but 5 Guys is definitely a 4/5 food-wise. On a more precise scale, I'd probably give it an 8.5/10 on food. And this particular location, as far as fast-food chains go, gets a 9.5/10. I'll call that a 4/5 stars. I've eaten at different 5G's around the NY/NJ/PA area, and they all seem to be exactly the same. They're all super clean and spacious. The burgers are awesome. The Cajun fries are friggin' jammin'! And this is where this particular location differs from ALL the rest. I have never received such a small portion of fries from 5G's ever! And lacking the Cajun seasoning I love so much too! I enjoy the food. The burgers and fries are great, and the hot dog, split grilled is awesome. They are in line with other locations as far as clean and staff. It's not an every day purchase. It starts getting pricey but it is a quality burger. It's not McDonalds prices, but it's a better burger. More between Chilis or Red Robin this is better and cheaper. This was my first visit to this 5 Guys since it was remodeled and probably my last. When I arrived at the counter to place my order it seemed like the entire store was on break and didn't wait on me for quite some time. The store was almost empty and several employees were sitting in the customer area not waiting on customers. When I finally placed my order, the person at the register never asked me what I wanted on my burger and I had to tell the cook after I had paid for my order. After waiting almost 30 minutes and hearing many numbers after mine being called I finally went back to the counter to inquire about my order. Apparently my order had gone missing. The only excuse I got was from the cook. He said only " my bad " another 10 minutes to have my order recooked but no apology from anyone. At that point I didn't even want to eat my meal in the store so I left. When I got home 5 minutes later I found an uneatable meal and threw it away. The burger was so over cooked and dry it crunched. The fries were so wet and greasy the bag ripped open before I got home. 5 minutes away only and the milk shake tasted like soap. I paid over $17 for this meal and couldn't even eat it. I don't know what happened to this 5 Guys since it was remodeled but I won't be going back. What a shame. I used to enjoy frequently eating at the Stroudsburg 5 Guys but something very bad has happened to this location. Please go someplace else if you want a decent meal. read more
