This is by far the best Five Guys I've been to. We came on a Thursday evening and it wasn't busy. Just a few customers eating. We were greeted as we walked in and the staff was super friendly. We ordered and waited at the outside tables until our food was ready. Once ready, the lady flagged us to let us know it was ready. I though that was so nice of her to grab our attention vs just putting the food down. 2 out of my group ordered burgers and 2 of us hotdogs. We all enjoyed everything. I stopped on a whim for lunch while running errands. The restaurant was clean and staff friendly. I ordered a hotdog, small fries and a soda. The hotdog was good but nothing outstanding. The overly generous amount of fries were greasy and grease being absorbed through the bag. What got me was the price. in today's financial struggles the $16 price tag left me thinking I wished I had gone to the local pub where the atmosphere would not be fast food. The could have cut down on the. volume of fries and charged a little less. Won't be going back, price doesn't justify what you get for your money. read more

1/20/25 I found a discount code on Upside app so decided to give them a try again. Food - for a fast casual burger, not bad. I would give the nod to Hi-point nearby overall, but this was better than fast food. Fries are natural cut, and were surprisingly crispy for natural. I seasoned everything with a little extra salt. Coca-cola freestyle machine for soft drinks. Price - For a double Cheeseburger combo (small fry and small drink), was $17. Upside app had 26% off code. So came out to around $13. Service was quick and pleasant. Did not take long to get my food. Ambiance - they have plenty of seating and suitable for families. The radio was playing a mix of pop and rock tunes. This is the first restaurant I've been to in a long time to pick up a delivery where the workers were nice, hospitable, and genuinely welcoming. It was a great change from what I usually experience at most fast food restaurants. The restaurant was nice and clean, and everything was in order. The bathroom was also nice and clean. I think this place might be hard to get to, which is why a lot of people don't frequent it, but it has a great atmosphere and the workers are awesome. On a sad note, the nuts I got were all stale. This makes me believe that not many people go there to eat, as the whole batch was stale. read more

We come here a lot...great service, friendly faces and one heck of a good burger. I can't ever recall where we regretted coming here....always a great burger and fresh cut fries! Kudos to the crew and the cleanliness, especially the condiments station....spotless (it's the little things that matter)and stocked! Don't waste your time eating here. The service is terrible. We spent over $100 on a family order and they completely messed up the order AND forgot items. When we asked them to make it right, they said that they could give us free food. We asked for our money back because, obviously, if you couldn't make it the first time, you won't do it correctly the second time. They said we had to come up there. When we told them we couldn't because we had small children that needed to go to bed, they told us there was nothing they could do. Very disappointing. This is a new location for us, since our closest one has closed. We went in the middle of the afternoon, hoping to avoid a crowd. There were quite a few empty tables, no waiting. We got our food after a decent wait (hot and fresh). There were plenty of empty tables, but most of them needed to be cleaned. The food was good, the staff was friendly, and were wearing masks. I must not understand the hype about this joint. Ok, it's pretty decent for fast food - but really? Nothing special except maybe the box of peanuts to grab. I had the cheeseburger (which is 2 hamburger patties) w/ mustard, pickles, grilled onions, tomatoes, mushrooms all wrapped in lettuce. Due to my dietary restrictions I cannot have the burger with bread. Don't worry, it's just as good with a lettuce wrap. The burgers are greasy, sloppy and delicious! The best way to consume a five guys burgers in my humble opinion is to uncover only one bite at a time with the foil wrapping. I don't know how you'd keep your burger together without the foil. I did not have fries or a shake but I can tell you from past experience that the fries are spectacular, and you get more than any one person should probably eat! One of the best exports from our nation's capital has to be the Five Guys franchise. The place made headlines last year when our President dragged Brian Williams and the Secret Service out on a burger run, placing this regional darling on the national stage. Of course, the place has also made headlines recently for the astounding caloric content of its fare. OK, so maybe it's not the healthiest of places to eat, but once you get a taste of the food, it's highly doubtful that you will care! With a few locations in the St. Louis area (mostly in the south and west county areas), St. Louisans are never far from a Five Guys location. They all look the same inside... plain white walls with red checker trim, and a bunch of banners touting their (well-deserved) reviews. The dining areas are spacious and clean every time I visit, and the staff is always very friendly. The menu is very limited, offering a handful of basic burger options, and for you heretics out there, there's also a hot dog option. Fries come in two sizes: large and obscenely large, and most locations offer a cajun option, which I have never tried. Beyond the basic options, you can configure your burger the way you want it with a variety of condiments, all of which are offered free of charge. Since everything is made to order, expect it to take a little over 10 minutes for your food to be ready. While you wait, there's a box full of peanuts in the shell to munch on, making this place completely inappropriate for anyone with a peanut allergy. Whether you're dine-in or carry-out, the presentation is always the same. Your burger is wrapped tight in aluminum foil, and placed in a plain brown bag. The fries go inside in a cup, and for good measure, they toss in another handful of loose fries, turning your bag into a grease-stained treasure trove. It's a greasy and glorious sight to behold! But how does it taste? In a word: phenomenal. Whether its the fact that the meat is never frozen, or the way they're smashed on the griddle to give them a crispy edge, or that the buns come from a recipe used by a bakery that supplied the original location, there's something that makes the burgers insanely satisfying, much more than the sum of their parts. Add to it the pitch-perfect flavor of the fries, dressed with a little malt vinegar, and you will have found fast-food nirvana. I tried one of the other locations out east during a business trip after hearing all kinds of incredible things about this establishment. Disappointing. I also tried one of their saint louis locations when they first opened. I wasn't impressed then despite all the hoopla and I'm certainly not impressed now. Several people have made a big deal about the peanuts which customers are provided while waiting for our food and that customers are allowed to shuck them and throw the peanut shells on the floor. That doesn't impress me and it just give the place a dirtier, cluttered appearance. I suppose for some younger crowd its exotic and pretty cool that you get to make an intentional mess, but I'm old enough to remember another chain that allowed people to throw peanut shells on the floor, the Ground Round . They were another franchise establishment and the closest location was near South County mall. I have fond memories of them, but I was a youngster and I'll bet the food was only mediocre since their gimmick was the peanuts. Aside from the general appearance of filth, which sadly doesn't just include the peanuts, but junk left on the tables after customers have left and staff who aren't bothering to clean them up, the music is way too loud. That's not something that's mentioned in all the reviews that these people love to plaster their walls with. When shouldn t have to shout to have a conversation. I'm not suggesting light jazz or classical at place like this, but memories of Thursday night rock concerts at Kiel Auditorium aren't necessary either. The staff is friendly, which numerous people have commented on here, and the wait wasn't too bad. The fries were hot, but very greasy. that's not a plus as far as I'm concerned. I like crispy fries and these were not. The burger was also very greasy and the cheese mediocre, that which did not stick to the foil as I unwrapped the burger. What are five guys breaking points is that the meat is fresh. That's probably true, but that doesn't mean it's high quality. I am NOT used to seeing so much grease when high quality beef is used for burgers , like one can buy at Kenrick Meat Company or a few of the other high end specialty butchers in town. Five Guys has a very small menu with few options and extremely high prices for what one is getting. The fries probably were cut from fresh potatoes, which is another big bragging point of Five Guys. But, they are so greasy and limp that I would prefer crispy and frozen to limp, greasy and fresh. this is saying a lot considering that I buy groceries from local farmers markets, Local Harvest grocery, Green Bean delivery, Trader Joe's and other such establishments and when I cook at home, it tends to be fresh -- and when its not, it tends to be the highest grade frozen or prepared that I can find. If one is looking for really good burgers with variety of options and really good ingredients, I'd suggest checking out Malone's Grill and Pub, a little way down Watson ( Missouri 366) in the Auto Care Plaza across from the Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens. They really do have a page full of fantastic, high-quality burgers with a variety of quality toppings or "simple" made fresh to order and with a better price point considering the weight, size and ingredients. Thats what i had suggested to my colleague tonight and I really wished that we went there instead. Next time I'm over there, I will check in and review the place. It would certainly have been more rewarding than what this was. read more

Anyone who doesn't know about the Five Guys explosion in Saint Louis should be warned before venturing to a store in person... there are open packages of peanuts all over the store. Why? I'm not sure. Essentially Five Guys Burgers and Fries is a 'back to basics' burger and fries joint. A glance at their tiny menu makes that abundantly clear.... so don't take your vegan/vegetarian/picky friend here or they'll have to wait in the car. That said, they do burgers and fries like no one else. NO ONE ELSE. These burgers are excellent- crispy at the edges, juicy in the middle, ACTUAL meat inside... no skimping anywhere in terms of quality. The same can be said for the fries- crispy outside and soft delicious inside. And the fries taste like potatoes not salt. Always a bonus imho. The other excellent thing about FGBF is the condiment/topping selection. From Mustard to A1, from grilled mushrooms to green peppers, if you have a favorite way to make hamburgers at home, chances are you may be able to make it here. I will say that the pricing is a little higher than average... about 6 dollars a burger... which is what you'd pay at a nice restaurant anyway. But, here you'll get it fast. REALLY FAST. There is a special way to order for veterans... but don't worry! The friendly staff is there to walk you through it until you get it. YAY for us slow learners! This FGBF has it's own dedicated lot. Oh yeah... the peanut thing. I don't know. I'm not a peanut connoisseur, nor do I really like peanuts particularly... but I eat them every time I go. And I guess they're good. You know. For peanuts. Why peanuts? Again, I'm lost for words... you'd think it would be a dark mark against them... since it prevents allergy sufferers from even entering the building. While I'm a big fan of burger places, I don't like to pay a big price for my burger, and at Five Guys I don't have to worry about it. from the first moment I have walked into a location, the atmosphere is super friendly, it starts with a big "welcome to 5 guys, how can we help you" and continues with a smile and great customer service. Ordering is easy, the menu is laid out in the easiest form possible, which gives you all the time to relax and enjoy your meal without having to rush through it. you have regular and small sized burgers, with the regular being a double patty. you can get it plain or loaded with the works, all specified on the easy to read menu. when ordering fries you can get them regular or cajun, I recommend the Cajun fries, and a large order will easily feed 2 or 3 people. read more

But to be honest the meat on the burger reminds me of a Dairy Queen burger....which is not a positive thing in my book. But my god, the hype of this place has gotten a little over the top. Burger Bar and lots of other places will be glad to oblige. Want just a great all around burger from non-chain experiences? This town is full of them. So for the life of me I can't figure out what exactly makes everyone so ga-ga over this place. Then again, I choke on kool-aid, so that may be why I'm so resistant to jumping on this bandwagon. Just because a lot of people are jumping on doesn't mean it's headed in the right direction. :P In short, it's a decent burger but the fries are the only real differentiator here. This was my first time here, so since I had heard so many good things about the place I had to try it. The staff were pretty friendly and they kept the place nice and clean. I had read from so many other people that the music was too loud but I didn't think so at all. I got a little cheeseburger and a little fry & that was a little over $8.00. The burger was ok, the fries were excellent but I don't think they were worth the price. That's a little steep for fast food and I didn't even get a drink. And that was just for myself, I couldn't imagine bringing an entire family. I think if I went back I'd probably just get the fries. read more

I guess I am at a loss for what makes this place so great. I do like a good burger I'm still not sure what makes this place really stand out as much versus other burger chains or local burger establishments. Upon entering the place I was kind of put off by the condition of the floor. They serve peanuts while you wait from boxes but it looked to me like no one had swept the place that day as each step towards the counter made not-so-comfortable crunch under my feet. I'm pretty sure everyone behind the counter was a high school student or just fresh out of high school. There were probably about 4 or 5 of them milling about behind the counter. I was curious if there were so many of them standing about with so few customers why someone wasn't checking on the floor to make sure the place looked somewhat presentable. Some of the tables were dirty or moved I guess from the lunch rush but it was 7PM when I got there. I went with the Bacon cheeseburger and fries and a drink and was told it would take about 5 minutes, not a bad wait time. I had my burger and fries and soda and was out the door. The fries were good, and they kind of heaped them on just like McDonald's used to before Super Size Me came out. I get home and I begin to eat the burger. The burger was wrapped in aluminum foil and some of the cheese had melted to it so it wasn't ideal for cheese paper consumption. Needless to say I think half of the cheese on the burger ended up coated onto the foil. Like I said the burger was ok, and the bacon was broken up so you weren't sliding entire pieces out with just one bite which was nice but it tasted pretty bland to me and just wasn't anything what I had heard about. For a fast food burger, these are pretty fantastic! Order the 'little' burger if you just want one patty (which is plenty for me!). If you order the 'regular' burger, you'll get two patties. Order the small fries for a generous amount of fries (honestly, it is a large enough portion to share!). The 'regular' size fries are just WAY too much (and this is coming from a fry lover!) I like that you can order as many toppings as you want on your burger for no additional charge. This is a pretty darn good fast-food burger, but remember that most appetites WILL NOT want to order a regular cheeseburger (little over $5). It is way too big for the average person - we're talking something like a double quarter-pounder. Get the Little Cheeseburger ($4+ I think), which is more like a regular Quarter Pounder. The toppings are free and range across the board. On my last visit, I had lettuce, mayo, and sauteed mushrooms with my cheeseburger. And if you think you'll have room for fries, bring a friend. You'll get more than 1 person can normally eat in a sitting as well. Tear open your bag and eat the ones out of the bag. Those will be the ones that didn't get crushed into the little fry cup. It's greasy, don't get me wrong. So you have to be in the mood for a burger joint when you come. read more

Walking in the door the staff announces your party. The team runs smooth and seem to be organized. I've never been to Five Guys and the cashier happily explains the small menu along with taking the order. The burgers come in two sizes, doubles (half pound), and singles (quarter pound). The cashier told us of the long list of free toppings. The first one we requested was simple pickle slices. The cashier then winced and indicated they did not have pickles. We asked what the problem was, there is a distributor issue and "No Five Guys in the country has pickles". I went on to add mayo and grilled onions. Wife added lettuce, mayo, ketchup, and onions. Our order number was called and we took the reciept to the counter. The burgers and fries are served in brown paper bags, even when eating in the store. Upon unwrapping the burgers, BOTH were wrong. I had no onions, mayo, and mustard. Wife had no lettuce, no ketchup, no onions, with mayo, mustard, and sautéed mushrooms. A double check of the reciept confirmed the order was taken properly just made wrong. An easy fix would be to simply take the bag back to the counter and get new sandwiches. But it took ten minutes for this order and now there was a line of people calling out their Made-To-Order lunches. As we didn't want to wait a half an hour for simple burgers, we just ate what was in front of us. Truth be told, the burgers were tasty. Ketchup and sautéed mushrooms aside, they were hot and high quality. We were given a boatload of French fries, the Cajun style were too salty and much less appealing than the originals. The burger are about $7 each. With two drinks included this turned out to be about a $25 lunch with an incorrect order. If someone else was treating, I'd go back here again. read more

If you're looking for a great place just to eat burgers and fries, then Five Guys is the place to come. The burgers are always grilled fresh, never frozen, and are cooked to order. There is a huge list of different toppings you can have, all of which are free. The standard burger actually comes with two patties, so if you're a fatty like me, this is what you want. Honestly, though, the little burger with a single patty would probably suffice for most people. The fries are flash-fried in peanut oil, and the portions are generous. I recommend getting the small order even if there are two of you. They pour extra fries into the bag before handing them over to you. My husband loves this place! He recently experienced In-N-Out for the first time and completely fell in love. This is the place in STL that replaces it for him. It's not unusual that once every month or so, around 9p at night, my husband gets a craving for this place. And that's exactly what happened the other night. We hadn't eaten much of a dinner and I'm always up for a burger, so I agreed! I decided to go with a double, which was definitely more than enough food when you're also splitting a large fry. I loved the fact that I could get my burger lettuce-wrapped and that I could get the single most important burger topping: bacon. The burger was juicy and delicious! The fries we got cajun style. The seasoning is awesome enough that you don't need ketchup or any other kind of dip! They use peanut oil for their fries. I can't say I'm a fan of peanut oil, but I'm not really a fan of vegetable oil, either. So what's the difference, really? This is a great place if you're in the mood for fast food. Inspired by recent popularity of "Dayum!" youtube sensation, I ventured to Five Guys Kirkwood on Saturday morning, braving hundreds of rice-rocket-riding douchebags. When I placed my order, the attendant exclaimed "Sir, you do realize these are double meat patties, right?" Maybe that's their training or maybe he was just shocked that I'd ordered 4? In any case, the burger with the works delivered, even after a 20 minute ride home. The problem was the fries. In the video, "you bite the fries, the fries bite back"? Not so much. These were limp, soggy, non-crisp, anything-but-appetizing and certainly not even McD's quality. Even copious amounts of ketchup couldn't save them. My dogs loved them so I gave this review 3 stars. read more

Five Guys Burgers? How about "Three Burgers Wrong"! My wife and I visited Five Guys and they got both of our orders wrong. My wife dealt with it but I returned my burger and explained to the cook what I wanted. I even handed him the printed receipt for reference.They prepared another burger (after the other orders that had been placed) Picked up my burger, opened the wrapper to find another wrong burger. Took the burger to the counter and explained it to the manager. He offered to attempted the burger again. I told him that two screw ups were enough and my wife was finished with her meal. I asked for a refund and received the exact amount of the burger that was never correct. No offer to refund my meal or to make amends in any way. He handed me my money and returned to filling orders. This was my first and last visit to Five Guys Burgers. Meat, bun and a dozen condiments; its not difficult to get correct. I can pay a lot less for tasty burgers that aren't screwed up...TWICE!! read more
