I am drooling thinking about this restaurant and writing this review right now. This might have been one of the best places I've ever been. The decor is so organic, it doesn't feel coroporate. It's a nice feeling, I hate to say it but I have a soft spot for stereotypical burger spots. First, I wanna give a shoutout to Nicki. She was so sweet, and an amazing chef. My milkshake certainly tasted like love, and it was absolutely delicious. Burgers were amazing as well, a little salty but with the milkshake, perfect. This is my favorite place to go. Stopped in for a solo lunch at the Kirkwood location today. I've had several of their burgers and chicken sandwiches in the past, but this was my first time trying their take on a classic Chopped Cheese. The Food: * Chopped Cheese: This sandwich really delivered on flavor. It was incredibly rich, largely thanks to the adobo seasoning and the creamy American cheese melted throughout. The beef quality was evident, and they got a great char on it from smashing it on the griddle. It came on a plentiful baguette that held up well, nicely dressed with LTOP, mayo, and ketchup. If you usually go for the burgers here, this is a worthy switch-up. * Fries: These came out fresh, hot, and nicely salted. They were solid, though I personally would prefer a fresh hand-cut potato over the hand-cut frozen style they seem to use here. The Vibe & Service: The staff was great right off the bat--super friendly and helpful when I had a couple of questions about the menu. The space itself is casual with plenty of seating, making it easy to grab a table even during a busy lunch. They also have a self-serve soda station, which is always a plus. The service here is always exceptional. Everyone is always nice and accommodating and never seems bothered by my asking several questions about gluten. Gluten-free buns are about mid-range for what I've had at other restaurants; not the worst (Three Kings), not the best (Golden Hoosier) but good. Everything is seasoned well and I absolutely love Smash Burgers and it is absolutely a solid, top, choice if you love them, too! The fries are, both, gluten-free and they are seasoned nicely. I have not had a bad meal there yet nor even a subpar service situation and I've been at least 6 times during various peak and non-peak hours. This location is easy to get to and there's some parking spots around. The outside and inside look cute and they play great music inside so 10/10 for ambiance! I chose the Ash Wednesday special since it's a Friday during Lent and I couldn't have meat today. I added Mac n cheese too. The cod fish burger and Mac n cheese were good! This is a great place for slightly bigger (6-8) parties as the space is wide and has plenty of seating. We were greeted when we went up to order and everyone was so friendly. I made my own burger -- single patty, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, jalapeños, mushrooms, and a fried egg. The egg was perfectly runny and the jalapeños were so spicy (which is a GREAT thing!). The burger itself was juicy and perfectly seasoned--not too salty but not too bland. I also got a side of cheese fries, but I think I'll skip out on the cheese next time. The cheese was pretty clumpy and came out room temperature, but the fries were decent. My cousin got the sweet potato tots and I think I'll go with those next time. After a family trip to the STL Zoo on Labor Day we were having difficulty finding any open restaurants ( that we wanted to eat at). We were almost home and found Hi Pointe was open. We ordered at the counter and our food arrived promptly. The Toklahoma was a nice homage to an Oklahoma onion burger. Crispy but juicy smash burger patties, onions, pickles and mustard. Wife and daughter enjoyed Frisco Melts. We tried the Green Beans (ok), Mac n Cheese ( really cheesy ) and the Fries were crispy and delicious. The Hi PA is a nice IPA made by UCBC and the canned wine was better than expected. We are grateful to the team working that day for taking time away from family on a holiday and for the delicious meal. read more

the ambience is cozy, like a log cabin. kinda cafeteria vibes. i went on a wednesday evening during the "snow storm" there was a few families, but not too busy. the workers are super friendly. super duper reasonable. chicken nugs + a burger meal was only $21. i got chicken nugs and fries off the kids menu! it was a good portion. the nuggets are a little bigger than chick-fil-a. if you're super hungry i would recommend getting two. my friend said the burger was super good he said "if he was high it would've been a 10" they also have a fun soda machine. they have ski and other fun flavors read more

I feel like I could eat here every single day and never get bored because their specials are amazing. But honestly, their normal every day burgers are also delicious as well! And don't even get me started on the sauces, I could probably just drink them, I love them so much! You place an order at the counter where you can make your own meal with various different sides and drink options, including tots and french fries, sodas, and beers, and of course shakes! Spent $50 for two people, which the food would have been totally better just going through a drive-thru for 20 bucks. There weren't very many customers at the time, I had to wipe down my own table and clean it off. The Frisco sandwich, DO NO GET THIS . It was dry, with thousand Island barely any of that dressing, on a toasted bread. Shame on you for charging people that amount of money for food like that. The french fries were okay. Late lunch. Drove past many times. Ordered my simple burger with grilled onions, tomato and lettuce. Beverages their root beer. The smashed burger was cooked well done. The bun size smaller than the burger and was slightly toasted. I like my pickle on the side. And they accommodated. At 2 pm on a Tuesday the place was pretty empty. Ambiance is nice. Staff attentive and food made to my request. I like all types of burgers but if you want a juicy medium rare this is not your place. If you want smashed burgers, YEA. Met my basic requirements that a place is cleaner than my house and food is better than my house. We had the Cowboy burger and the recommended Turkey Club. Both fresh and delicious. I so enjoyed my Father's day burger. Hi-Pointe even gave me an apron. I have never been to Shake Shack so I can't compare the two. However the burgers and the shakes are just fantastic. This location is really an interesting one. There have been many food places on or near this property. Burger King on the property and Charlotte's Ribs first place was next to it. I am happy to see they have what appears to be a a winner. I ordered the double burger with cheese. I had it loaded with everything but tomato. The burger is smashed down on the grill to sear in the flavor and boy it was flavorful. As all Sugar Fire restaurants they serve an off brand soft drink. Been to Hi-Pointe, Kirkwood location a few times now. While I like their burgers, the service is quite lackluster to me. There's just a general feeling of "meh... could care less" attitude that I do not care for. During my visits, I've observed that the floors were slippery which presents a hard to both the employees and the customers. Not to mention, if the person delivering my burger slips, I will have to wait longer for my food! *Gasp* I'm not trying to be insensitive... But the point is, clean your floors! Ordering experiences varied during visits. Sometimes, the line goes quickly and the person taking the order seems awake, other times, I feel like the enthusiasm level is what I imagine it would be like after being returned from an alien abduction. Basically, you never know what you're going to get. The times we've come, they've always been fairly quick with the food (approximately 10 minutes or so) and the fries have always been fresh which is good. The burgers, as I stated earlier have always been great tasting! This is one of the biggest reasons why I still come here begrudgingly. I've never had their shake but I would say, solid burgers for the price. Come here for that but don't expect your dining experience to be fantabulous. Explanation of my rating: this is a restaurant and while service and cleanliness ranks to only about a 1 or 2 star, I still really like their burgers which makes it reasonable for me to give them a 4-star based solely on the food. read more

When I heard Hi-Pointe was adding a location closer to home, I was excited! We finally made our way to give it a try last night, and it did not disappoint. We arrived at dinner time on a Thursday night and were thankful the parking lot wasn't packed. The restaurant was maybe half full, and we were able to walk straight to the order taker after perusing the menu for a few minutes to make our choices. That day's special was a Jamaican Mi'Crazy sandwich: chopped jerk chicken stopped with mango slaw and plantains on the side. I also added a side of fries and a drink. This meal was A-MA-ZING! The sandwich had a perfect flavor combo, and the plantain was great. My husband ordered the Cowboy burger with a side of fries, and he really enjoyed his, too. They offer a variety of drinks. We settled on a soda. They serve sodas from Excel Bottling Co (a St. Louis area company), so that's a treat for us that we enjoy. Service was excellent, tables were clean, and people were checking on us to make sure things were ok and were quick to clear our trays when we finished.
