    Cajun fries

Last time I went to five guys was when I was a child, so I decided to stop by to see how the burgers are nowadays. Service was fine. They explained how the menu works and the food came out quick. I ordered a regular cheeseburger which is two patties, with a bunch of extra toppings like grilled onion, mushroom, lettuce, tomato, pickles. Unfortunately the beef patties have little to no browning at all when cooked so they tasted pretty bland. Cajun fries tasted okay but they were soft and soggy. Without a drink, this ran me $20 so I don't think it was worth it.

We straggled into this location close to closing. Dillion and the crew were all welcoming! The restaurant was very clean and in order. I expressed how the burgers and fries were flavorful and higher in quality over the nearby competition. We appreciated the patience of the staff as we sat to eat and drink our meal. I noticed the staff continued to clean the kitchen. They never gave us the impression to hurry as time was close to closing. When in the area, we'll be back. We thanked the staff for everything. In turn several of the staff thanked us for our patronage!

Visited on a Saturday afternoon. We were enthusiastically greeted by the team upon entering. The restaurant was clean and parking was very convenient and easy. Jaylin took our order, he was kind and helpful. We decided to dine in with our little one. There were clean high chairs available. Our food came out within 15 mins and everything was fresh, hot and served as ordered. I would definitely visit this location again if I am in the area.

It's delicious. Burgers are huge. Only thing is peanuts everywhere. So if your allergic to peanuts FYI. Fries are cooked in peanut oil. Yum!

ME LOVE HER! ME LOVE HER (foot-)LONG TIME!…read more SIT-REP (Situation Report) It's great to have a great hot dog stand only 2 blocks North of my office-site! THE SET-UP AND THE FARE In fact, this is the first prong in my ritual walk: after I grab some peanuts in the shell, I get the hot dog (usually Seattle style with Cream Cheese or German style with Kraut), and walk to Capitol Park, and find on of my favorite park benches on the Southwest Quadrant of the park. And as I munch on my hot dog, I am approached by a surly group of squirrels, led by Chip & Dale, who look at my plaintively, eyeing the little pile of peanut shells on the bench next to me. I make a few teasing feints of peanut throws, but then follow through. It's amazing to watch the little tussles between the fluffy-tailed rodents - it's amazing to imagine squirrels WITHOUT tails and what handsome rats they would make. I also imagine how this scenario would be dramatically different if my pocket-Panthers JACK & BOBBY were there with me, watching these events. Would my cats think I lost it? Would they feel betrayed? Actually, I think they'd ridicule me because that's the kind of basterds my cats are (since these are the same two that disect mice, rats and birds in front of me as we go on our walks). THE LOWDOWN But I think I've wandered off the reservation and have gotten away from talking about DOGS. These are some good DOGS! YUMMM!

I went at 3:15-ish in the afternoon and there was still a line and just one parking spot left, and the tables outside were mostly filled up despite the fact that it was nearly 100° outside and not traditional lunch or dinner time. The young man at the Window was very polite and explained to me that sauce on the hamburger. I have to say that it wasn't really like thousand Island as he described because thousand island I know of usually has catchup rather than mustard. I believe this was a concoction of mayonnaise, mustard, and pickle relish. Burger band was incredibly soft. Patti was teeny nice lettuce nice tomato decent burger, especially for the price. The peach shake was a little more pricey, but I'm fine with paying that for a fresh peach shake and it definitely was fresh peach as I found a piece of peach stem in there which I don't mind. I love that it was fresh. It was a little lacking in flavor really mild on the peach. I was expecting a bit more. This is a fun place to eat, and I would definitely stop here again

We came here on the weekend just before their lunch hours started. We tried to order online to get ahead of the long line we anticipated. Online, it said it would take maybe 40 minutes to get our order, so we decided to get there and order in person instead. They have a decent sized parking lot, but it got full fast as lunch time approached. There's plenty of outdoor seating (exclusively outdoor), and some seats did not have umbrellas to shade you. We ended up ordering a burger, onion rings, and a medium sized peach shake to share between me and my partner. The burger and onion rings were of a quality that you would expect from an old time burger joint. The burger was otherwise alright, and nothing special. The onion rings had a nice crispy batter, but also nothing special. I think people would enjoy this place for the nostalgia if anything. As for the peach shake, when we got it, I saw the color was very faintly orange. As some others have mentioned, it's nice that there are peach bits but they are sooooo tiny. I would have liked larger bits, as one of my favorite fruits are peaches. The flavor of peach in the shake was VERY light. I felt like the shakes were overhyped. I wasn't disappointed to try, but it wasn't what it was made out to be.

This was more of a grab-and-go kind of stop, and it hit exactly what I needed in the moment. I didn't even have to think about my order. Chili cheese fries, add onions. Always!! There's just something about opening that container and getting that mix of warm chili, melted cheese, and that little bite from the onions. It's messy in the best way and always hits the craving and I love they always include a fork. This location feels very Midtown. The inside dining area is pretty small, nothing like the larger setups you'll find in Elk Grove, so it's not really a sit and hang out kind of place. It's more grab your food and go. The drive-thru was super busy when I went, and the parking lot is on the smaller side, so you might have to circle around the block if there are a lot of cars. That said, even with the line, it moved fast, which I appreciated. Everything came out exactly how I ordered it and quick, which is really all you want from a stop like this. Helpful tip: Add onions to the chili cheese fries, and if you're coming during a busy time, be prepared for a tight parking lot but a fast-moving line. Same go to order, different vibe, and it still delivered.

Most of the time these families would stop at a picnic table to eat. I decided to investigate what it was that they had so I meandered along the walking path up to T street and crossed over to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. In the breezeway between the church and the rectory there were several tables set up with food vendors, whom I believe are members of the church. The smells wafting through the air made my mouth water and my stomach growl. I walked About halfway through breezeway and stopped at a tamale table with a sweet plump little woman who smiled and asked if I wanted to try some. So I tried a sample.... I must warn you that I'm extremely picky about tamales as my family has been making them for generations. In other words I know good tamales from quickly thrown together not-so-good ones. Quite frankly I was blown away at how good these tamales are!!! The Masa is not plain and doughy. It is lightly salted, and firm--not dry and crumbly. The cheese flavor was made with real Mexican Acedero (white) cheese and had green chili mixed with it to compliment the flavors with a little spice. The green chili has a flavor that falls between that of a jalapeno and an Anaheim Chili pepper. I then was offered a sample of the chicken tamale. Wow!! This tamale was filled shredded perfectly seasoned chicken. The chicken looked like breast meat and was not fatty or greasy. The spices were complimentary to the chicken. I was offered a sample of red homemade chili sauce and crema (a white cream sauce that is mixed with real cream.) The chili sauce was served piping hot from a large pot and it was yummy and the crema was unbelievable. I noticed a line of people had formed so I had to stop sampling and place my order. I bought 1 cheese and 1 chicken and didn't get a chance to try the beef. Which means that I will have to return to this vendor booth next time I come to the farmers market. Added bonus: Being that this food court of vendor booth's are located directly across the street from South Side Park gives everyone an opportunity for a picnic in the park. What a great find this breezeway by the church is. I hope you try them!

Be sure to ask the nice women behind the table to put the red sauce and crema on top. They even take the tamales out of the husk for you. Besides having tamales like your abuela used to make they have freshly made churros, bacon wrapped hotdogs, and horchata. They also have a wide variety of tacos. If you're lucky they'll have the carnitas or adobada, which I wish they carried more often. The constants there are the steak, chicken, chorizo, and lengua. I've tried them all and they're all tasty. Give them all a shot and decide for yourself. They're open every Sunday from early in the morning to I think 7 at night. I typically like to go to the Farmers Market a few blocks away then hit this place up for lunch and eat in the park. Bring $5 and get stuffed.
