My son visited from back East at Christmas and mentioned Shake Shack and 5 Guys. He said Shake Shack was better but 5 Guys greasy but okay. Wow, was I impressed by the degree I was unimpressed with 5 Guys. The best thing about 5 Guys were the complimentary (not free) peanuts. Stop and think about what I said. The best thing about a burger/fries place were the peanuts. Yeah, now you get it! First the menu was designed to up-sell me. A one-patty was a "little burger". The plan is to shame the buyer into a double patty, unless you're a little baby and want a little burger. Second, the prices are on the high side. The double cheeseburger is $7 and regular fries $4. The portions of these items is quite standard to my thinking. I don't mind paying for quality, but please read on. Third, the burger was tastless. Well, of course it had SOME taste, but it was not of meat or anything nice. Very bland. Fourth, the fries were as bad and as tastless as In-And_Out Burger's over-rate fries. The flavor - or lack therein - of fries comes from the cooking procedure. 5 Guys hasn't a clue how to cook fries. Too short a cooking time at too hot an oil I suspect, but hey, I'm not running a burger/fries join, they are and they don't know how to make a fry tasted delicious. Fifth, I had diarrhea the next day. Yeah, a grif that keeps on giving. So, in spite of their tremendous volume, 5 Guys can't make a clean product. Really pathetic. Ok so as a Californian I am supposed to have some devotion to In N' Out burger. Well In N' Out sucks. Five Guys is what burgers are about. You order a burger and its 2 patties, unless you want a little burger. You can get a better variety of toppings than at the other burger joint. So if you want a real hamburger and you have taste then hit Five Guys. If you want hype and mundaneness then go elsewhere. read more

this is ridiculous. i placed an order online and when I came to the restaurant i waited 5 minutes with no employee in sight. when i finally flag one down she tells me my order just came up and that she'll be cooking it immediately. how is it that i ordered my food 15 minutes in advance the app tells me my food is ready and i get to the restaurant and the ticket is just printing. wtf own your f@$! up. this is ridiculous. i highly suggest waiting in the inn and out line because the wait time will be the same with better service. read more

We took a bus from Tahoe back to Palo Alto and stopped by here. Genius mode came into play because we knew how long the line would get at lunch so we ordered online and voila, food is on time. They only prepped the burgers and gave us piping hot fries. Easy, fast, and delicious no matter where you go. I love the consistency no matter which location I go to. read more

Pros - good burger with great beef - fresh veggies - clean restaurant - quick service - good real American cheese Cons - bun was a little doughy - menu is confusing- a double cheeseburger is a "cheeseburger" and a single patty is a "little cheeseburger" - $3 for a small fry is kinda a lot - produce comes on top of patty. The food gets 5 stars... it's a great place to get a burger and fries - seriously. The food is all made-to-order and TASTY. But with that, comes the only thing that I can ding them for and that's how long it actually takes to get your food. I came here with my step-son - we ordered two burgers and an order of fries to share. It took more than 20 minutes to get our food, which is kind of ridiculous. For this reason, I have a hard time recommending this place for a quick lunch, but if you have time to wait, then I can definitely recommend it. I stopped by today to finally try this place after passing by since they opened and being a little skeptical. I was actually impressed with the flavor, texture and freshness of the burgers. I had a small cheese burger with mayo, bell peppers, pickles, mustard, grilled onions and mushrooms. The fries were hot and tasted fresh. The only thing I didn't like about the burger were the mushrooms they tasted and looked canned to me. They also have huge bags full of peanuts for you to eat while you wait. Chairs are very uncomfortable but everything else is fine. I will come back :) read more

I stopped by here after a trip to Ikea because I had heard such great things about their hamburgers. However, I don't see what people are raving about. The restaurant ambiance definitely left a lot to be desired, but I won't judge them for that. I really just found the cheeseburger to be very basic, small, and really was unimpressive. Lively staff looks like they have lots of fun while working. They were very courteous and prompt. It's your average burger served basically with or without bacon and with or without cheese. Double or single. Dress it up however you want. They have a multitude of toppings to choose from. Don't fret if you are a non-beef eater they have you covered with veggie sandwich, grilled cheese or BLT. The music was rockin and the place was hoppin! Slow as crap 7 people working but it took 20 minutes to get 1 burger and an order of fries. Don't get me wrong it was good but there was no one else ordering, no line, most people who were there were eating or had finished. It was about 5:20 in the afternoon. This place is mediocre. I'd pay 2.99 for the burger. No more. The burger Tasted like the jr whopper with cheese from Burger King. Yet payed 6.99 for it. The fries were pretty good though. Do not order pick up. I ordered the food at 5:30pm came it shortly after 6 to pick it up and checked in. I was told it would take a few minutes on the fries. When I asking about the food again at 6:30 the employee had the nerve to tell me they called out but I didn't pick it up. The employee preceded to make the milkshake for my order since they hadn't done so. I ask about the fries and they said it would take about 2 mins until they get those. 10 mins later I had to ask again for the fries. They call order #15 walked in. They where calling order #25 when I left. That's right I watched 10 people get there food before me. Total time for my order was 1hr 15mins. Partner said they also did this to his pick up order last time. This is the worst service I have ever received for fast food. They also had a sign saying no more than 10 people inside the restaurant at one time. There was 20 I try as I might I was unable to stay 6 ft apart from other people which is completely unsafe. read more

We only went here after finding out that the restaurant we wanted to go to had been closed permanently due to family health issues with the owners. So sad. Anyway, even though Five Guys was not our plan, this was a very good burger and great fries. I love A-1 on burgers and have never seen that offered at a restaurant before so it was a welcome option. All I can say is that this is a burger with STRENGTH - as said the guy who reviewed Five Guys Burgers on Youtube. Much better than In n Out, and the Cajun fries are out of this world. I usually write long reviews, but i'm worried the more i explain the deliciousness of the burgers and fries, the more my mouth will water. Just go and try it out! I usually get the Bacon Cheeseburger, with grilled jalapeños, grilled onions, A1 Sauce, and lettuce. Man it happened, my mouth is watering for this delicious burger. If you are going with 3-4 friends, just get one Large fries and you will have more than plenty. I suggest going with the Cajun Fries, it will complete this perfect meal. I have had other burgers and sandwiches from them, and they are delicious. read more

Tried this spot again after a not so good experience at Stockton's location. I ordered a little cheeseburger with grilled onion, mayo, tomatoes, and ketchup and a small order of their original fries. The food is all made to order which I like a lot. They're fresh, and hot. The fries were a bit soggy, but some were good. The burger was alright. I believe it could be more flavorful in the patty. It really reminds me of a home made burger. I'll come here when I'm craving a homemade burger and just lazy to make it at home, but I think in n out will always win my heart. I like how they have bags full of peanuts for you to munch on while you wait. read more
