Earlier today my father and I were in the area and he said he was going to buy me a Five Guys burger. He had been telling me about how good they are but I had not tried them yet. Not only was dad right and the burgers were fantastic, but the fries were great too. In fact as a burger junkie, I can say Five Guys had some of the best burgers and fries Ive ever had. It was also a clean cool looking place, and the people working there are very nice and do a fantastic job. At first I noticed the prices were a bit higher then my normal fast food burger joints, but I very quickly found out the food at Five Guys Burgers is worth every cent and the portions are huge. Their "standard" burger is actually a hefty double burger stacked high with whatever fixings you like, and fixing are free too...I sure hope you are hungry. And the "small" fries were easily enough for both myself and my father, and we still had a lot left over. I HIGHLY recommend Five Guys Burgers if you love great burgers and fries and nice people serving you. On a scale of 1 to 10, its a very easy 10. read more

I ordered a cheeseburger and shake to be delivered to my home on 3/2, from Five Guys (2929 N Rock Rd), using Door Dash. I paid $26.32 online, including a $5 tip for the driver. When I got a text saying it had been delivered, I found only the shake at my door (the driver didn't knock and was gone). I called Five Guys and was told "That's our fault; your burger is sitting here in our warming bin". I was told by the Shift Manager that he could contact the District Manager to refund me, but after 13 days, I decided to go in to the restaurant and ask for the manager. Again, I was told that the DM would need to approve the refund, and "It should happen", but 5 days later, still no refund. Yes, the driver should have questioned or asked about a $26 order and a $5 tip for an item that only cost about $5, but if the restaurant admits the mistake was theirs, and can't fix a simple mistake, I won't ever eat there or use either business again. Now, I have liked 5 guys in the past, so getting what I got today? Leaves me scratching my head. This location was very neat and clean unlike some other locations I've been to. The cashier was friendly, but I never liked the fact that 5 guys has no combo meals..everything is purchased separately, costing more money...one burger, fries and drink cost me $14!!! Recently I went through a fast and all I could dream and think about were these amazing burgers. So of course I had to stop in and get one! There are two options for the burgers, little or regular. I always get the little one because it is filling enough for me, but I can defiantly eat the larger burger with no issues but then that leaves no room for their amazingly tasty Cajun fries. The Cajun spice isn't to spicy but if your sensitive get the regular size. I love how they allow you to pick any condiment on the burger and they add it on there for you. Pickles, onions, green peppers, mustard, and so much more! It amazing how many options they have at no extra cost. Their staff is friendly, funny, and helpful. I love how the burgers are made to order, not pre-made like other fast food joints. They also use quality brand ketchup, not the fancy stuff nobody likes. Once your done here and super full, head over to the Rita's next door and get yourself some MANGO Italian Ice, they have it most days. I have very small hands. These burgers are smaller than my hands. The price is over the top for something that isn't even filling. I would order at least two burgers if I were you. Tastewise, the burgers are delicious. They're greasy, but don't mistake the juices coming from the meats and extra toppings for grease. I'm not a big fan of their fries but a side of peanuts is a must (unless you have a peanut allergy of course). On the rare occasion I want a burger and fries, it had better be good. Upon my lastest craving, I decided to go to Five Guys after hearing raves about them and their fries, in particular. I ordered a cheese burger and their "famous" cajun fries. The cheeseburger was limp, greasy and tasteless. The fries tasted like salt with potato-y undertones. In addition to the assault on my taste buds, the music was BLARING to the point that I could not talk to my dining partner despite the fact that we were two of maybe eight people in the restaurant. This is actually my first review on any restaurant, so bare with me. First, I think the things that bothered me most walking in the door was how loud the music was blazing. I'm a bit hard of hearing, and it still bothered me enough to decide not to dine in. Otherwise, the appearance was clean and "open" feeling. I got a kick out of the bags of potatoes staked up along side the ordering register, advertising that they cut their fries fresh daily. The gal at the front counter was VERY helpful in explaining how their system worked (considering this was my first visit to any Five Guys). Again, it was a bit hard to hear over the radio. I really like the idea of selecting your own fixings and sauces. I ordered a regular bacon cheese burger with lettuce, pickles, sauteed onions & mushrooms, and regular fries and a Coke. One thing to keep in mind, the "regular" is 2 hamburger patties that are a little smaller than a quarter pounder patty. The fries are done home-style, and served in a 12 oz (I am guessing) cup (oh and they pour a few extra in the bag for good measure). The burgers are wrapped in aluminum foil, which I kinda see as a downfall for take-out, as it tends to trap steam. As I said earlier, I decided to take the food to go, and I think that kinda hurt the overall taste for me. By the time I got back to my apartment, the bun was a bit soggy, and the lettuce was wilted (kinda understandable). One thing I didn't like was that the pickles they used seem to be a "sweet" pickle, as apposed to a dill pickle. The fries were very good being home-style, and seasoned just right (I got the regular seasoned fries as apposed to Cajun fries). I was glad that they kept their taste and texture driving back to the apartment, so kudos there! Overall, I'll probably stop in again in the future, however I've gotten my initial fix and experience of the place. I can agree that it's better than anything you can get from the other fast food chains (especially the fries) but I sure hope the loud music is a one-time issue. I docked 2 stars because of the music, and the soggy take-out of the burger (aluminum foil I suspect). I would have only docked 1-1/2 if it was an option on yelp. read more

Decent burger, nothing really mind blowing, but ample portions and good taste. I'm not a big fan of the fries, contrary to the numerous signs and awards they have posted around the restaurant. The kicker is the price - burger, fries and a drink, $12(!). I like to take the family out to lunch occasionally, but $50 for a lunch is outrageous. We stopped by Rita's (affiliated with Five Guys I believe) during their Grand Opening (May 16, 2014) in which they offer free medium Italian Ice all day so I thought why not give Five Guys a try! It was around 6pm and there was a line ahead of us. Menus are nothing special.. just burgers and dogs. What I like the most is that they made the burger fresh (in front of you). While I was waiting to pick up my Bacon burger, something at the kitchen smell really great. Somehow it wasn't the case when I finally got my order. Needless to say I was a bit disappointed. Tried Five Guys today. Walking in it's very open, and plastered on every wall are posters of all the good reviews they've gotten from all over the country. I thought that was kind of obnoxious. If the food is good, people will come to eat it; you don't need to get all up in people's faces about how amazing your food is supposed to be. Saying that, all the people who wrote all those reviews have clearly never had a proper burger and fries, because my meal was without a doubt, the worst burger and fries I've ever had. I had a little burger, my husband had the regular cheeseburger, with 2 drinks and 1 fry, and our total was almost $20. So rather on the expensive side. They wrap their burgers in aluminum foil, which is awful because it causes the bun to become extremely soggy. There are few things I hate more than soggy bread. And the burger itself was virtually tasteless and almost dry. It seems like their fries are a cross between steak fries and crispy fries, and the result is a blasphemy to the idea of french fries. Very greasy, not hot, thick and limp. There was not a crispy fry in the whole batch. Burger King makes fries 5x better than Five Guys, and that's sad. I wouldn't mind the quality so much if they were dirt cheap, but for how much they charge for such a sub-par product, I will never eat there again. Disgusting. read more

Getting through the line was fairly quick. Plenty of options on the menu to customize your order. A regular burger means two patties so get the Little if you don't have a big appetite. The fries are crispy and plentiful; they will throw in an extra little bit on top of your normal serving. It can be a little loud at this location between the open kitchen, the tile floors and walls, and the music PA system. But I keep coming back for those burgers and fries!! read more

Went to 5 guys for lunch today and ordered the cheeseburger with fries. I was surprised the menu did not seem to have any price bundles and would recommend that for seamless ordering. The burgers were very delicious. I was surprised to find a cheeseburger comes with two beef patties as well. The fries were excellent as well, most likely because both products are freshly made. Five Guys Burgers and Fries was my destination for lunch today. Going in any place that openly displays it's accolades on just about everything (the walls, the windows and even the cups) it kind of bothers me. I'm reminded of a Kitchen nightmares episode where Mr. Ramsay removed the sign of a restaurant essentially saying the food should speak for itself. So how did it do? Well, one of their signs states that the food is cheap and delicious. I ordered a hamburger standard (lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, onion, mustard and ketchup), Cajun fries, and a soda. It came out to roughly $10. On a plus side the hamburgers can have as many toppings as you want for no additional charge, and they serve everything in a bag which they fill with fries in a manner that reminds me of "getting the hook up" back when I was in highschool. (They fill the cup, put the cup in the bag, and then stuff it full of fries). A good value, Yes. Cheap, no. The food was comparable in quality to that of Southeast Carryout, that Cajun seasoning on the fries was ok, but left a strange aftertaste on the palette after consumption. The soda, well it was pop. I read the cup as I was eating my meal, seeing all the accolades they had gotten and one thought crossed my mind: whoever gave them these awards has never tried a Bomber Burger here in Wichita. For about the same price you get a better burger, Fries, and a mug of beer. As for the other things that make a restaurant amazing: The service was helpful. They explained how the menu worked, asking if I had been there before or not, and gave approximate serving size for the fries (enough for probably 2-3 people). The other point is cleanliness. I showed up at 1 pm to a restaurant with 8 employees and as many customers (most of which were seated). The tables had for the most part been bussed of the bags and fries, but nary a rag had wiped them yet. So instead of the relative warmth near the front of the restaurant, I sat at their "bar" that looked out at rock road. About the time I had gotten up and started into my burger they got to cleaning a few tables and then went to restocking the mostly full soda station. All in all I give this place 3 of 5 stars because they advertise greatness and under perform. The food is good but not the best in town. It's slightly above what one would expect from Spangles, yet under what you might expect from the comparably priced Smashburger, and miles behind Bomber Burger. read more

Others may gripe, but I love the food here. It is an old fashioned "grease" burger and fries, meaning it is fried, not grilled. So yes, it has some grease. BUT WORTH IT. We get the little burgers because they have lots of toppings when you order "all the way". So full of toppings it's hard to keep the buns on. The regular fries are plenty for 2-3 people. They cook up the portion for you and give you all of them, which fill up the cup and spill over into the sack. They have cajun spice for them, but its too much spice for us. I have had the cheese veggie sandwich and think it is just as good as the burger. They also offer w/out bun on lettuce. However, the hamburger was great, and they give you way more fries than you order (kind of fill your bag with them) and the fries are fresh cut. After reading so much online about how great Five Guys is online, I finally got around to trying them out. Unfortunately, that try will likely be my last. I ordered a double burger and regular fries. When I was there, there was another patron waiting for his take-out order. He ordered first, but my number was called before his. I think I got his burger, because the toppings were not at all what I ordered. Since it was take out, I ate the burger with the incorrect toppings. Toppings aside, my problem was the the burger was not juicy in the slightest. I'm guessing it was way overcooked. The fries were fresh cut, and had a good potato flavor, but were limp and soggy, even when I sampled one out of the bag right as I left the restaurant. The prices are a bit on the high side, but I don't mind paying for a really good burger. This just wasn't very good. Many other good burgers in town for the same price. I didn't dine in, but I don't think I'd be in any hurry to anyway. The place is kind of cold feeling, plus they are one of those restaurants that have adopted the obnoxious practice of giving guests peanuts and allowing shells to build up on the floor.
