Really great experience with Five or Free on window cleaning. We had our windows replaced over a year ago, and realized that our lovely "clearview" screens were holding tons of pollen and dust, blocking the view outside. Five or Free came out, gave us a reasonable quote for window and screen washing, answered all of our questions about the process, and got us on the schedule quickly. The actual day of cleaning was seamless, with them working quietly and efficiently around the house -- they were so unobtrusive that our usually skittish dog remained in her chair while they cleaned the windows around her! Weeks later, we continue to gaze out the clean windows and remark that 1) we love the view and 2) that having Five or Free come by was one of the most impactful home maintenance decisions we've made. Took a while to get a bid, but once we got the communication going, Alex fit us into his schedule within a week, showed up on time, was super friendly and efficient and cooperative (we also had carpenters on-site), and OH MY GOD what a difference! When I first started using this company, I was very impressed. They were polite, thorough, and my windows looked clean when they were finished. The pricing was reasonable... I think it was $900 for about 90 windows. Then I called them 6 months later and I got a quote (at my new house) for $1700 for 100 windows. That's an additional $800 for 10 windows. I asked why the pricing went up almost double and there was no explanation. My parents had a similar experience where the price increased 50% for same house and same number of windows. I've been using a couple other companies who charge $800-$1000 for my house, with no negotiation- so they are about $700 higher (or more) than other companies. Not sure if they were being opportunistic because we moved to a nicer house or if their costs went up or what... but the price increase was ridiculous and really left me in a bind to find another provider. Just wanted to warn other customers that this happened to both our family and my parents. I'm giving 2 stars because I really liked Alexis and the quality of work the first times I used them but wanted to warn others about the sudden price increases. read more

This company provides the most professional and personable window cleaning service I could imagine. The owner Alexis is very responsive by text, call or email to questions and scheduling needs; he's also extremely courteous and friendly. The work is done to a very high standard. I'm sure there are cheaper window cleaning companies but I know they wouldn't do the same quality of work; Alexis inspected every pane of every window to make sure it was done perfectly. Contracted with Alexis to clean some VERY DIRTY windows on the second story of an apartment building. Never thought all the grime and paint splatters dating back many years on these 1906 windows would ever come off. To my utter amazement - they were sparkling clean when Alexis was done with them. I had Five or Free come out after reading the great Yelp reviews. Micah did a nice job giving us an estimate and we scheduled a time for them to come out the following week. We were originally told it would only take a couple of hours, but it actually took the two workers five hours to do all our windows (we have a 2,700 single story house). They did a great job, so the extra time wasn't a big deal. Last comment, it took me 10 days to realize that the workers left most of the windows unlocked. This was a concern, especially since we have two children. I let the owner know and he responded to my concern immediately. The entire job was $400 and the company and its workers were responsive, prompt and friendly. I would probably use them again. read more

My husband easily set up the initial consultation for a gutter cleaning. We didn't have to be home for the actual appointment. Alexis' team took before and after pictures of our second floor gutters and did a great job keeping us updated. When we had a concern about a presumed leaky down spout after it rained - Alexis personally came out to check! He even went to a hardware store to buy a mesh for the downspout. He did this all for free as a follow up courtesy. Everyone was helpful & professional! We will definitely use them again for our gutters and possibly for a window cleaning. read more
