Kinda wishing we could give zero stars. My family and I ordered $70 worth of food. We get up to the window, there's multiple items missing and a large drink missing. My husband asked for our large drink, and he hands us a child sized drink. So we pulled out of the drive through and my husband went inside. He asked for the items that were missing that we ordered, and for the correct size drink. The guy argued but gave us the poppers but not the drink we paid for. My husband didn't even feel like dealing with him anymore so he walked out. Also, they clearly didn't change the oil they use to cook the food, because it made the food taste AWFUL with a bad aftertaste. Won't be returning. For that price we could get a great family deal somewhere else and NOT get jipped. read more

Good solid burgers here! Big, varied menu with lots to choose from too. Quality of food from the freshness of ingredients, to the well seasoned meat, and portion sizes are all on point. The dining area could be aired out better and table seating better arranged but overall the cleanliness of area is good. Hi yelpers :) this is an update (my last review was 2 yrs ago.) So, basically Five Star remains one of my all time local faves. I'm updating this because they've updated their menu and also, it's worth talking about! So, this was my go to breakfast burrito and burger place. But, having now tried more of the menu, I gotta say they nail it every time (bar the once I tried pastrami, and to be fair, I'm always on the fence with pastrami no matter who makes it.) I've had the chicken basket, shrimp basket, and fish and chips basket. All three have generous portions, for one, so you will not walk away hungry. And, if you go with a friend, there's enough to share. I've also made my way through some of their burgers. I've Swiss mushroom, California, and knock out burger. And they are so good! The price range is about 6-8ish dollars depending if you want just the burger or you go for a combo. On a budget? Not a prob. The star burger is their basic burger for under 2 bucks. I should mention that the star burger isn't the mustard and ketchup variety. They use burger sauce. That is a deal maker/breaker for some people, so it's worth mentioning. My kids love the corn dogs and grilled cheese. Now, this has taken me 2 years to get thru this menu, haha. I actually try to cook most of my meals and eat healthy choices. But, when I splurge it's normally5 star, Umi Sushi, Tasty Thai or a new place. And, having gone there for years now, the people are a major factor on why I return. They are so nice to me and my kids. Quality takes time at this greasy spoon...I know it's quite the paradox. This is not your typical fast-food drive-thru, they actually prepare your food to order. Therefore, patience is a must if you go or just don't cue up if there are more than say 3 cars. LOL. We've tried the burgers, Philly and chicken cheesesteak, chili cheese dog, zucchini sticks, fries, and chicken nuggets. Everything was tasty and fresh (crisp lettuce and ripe tomatoes). Just got one of the best burgers I've had in my life and I couldn't be happier. This place is less than half a mile from my house and I just ate there for the first time since moving to town. Had a milkshake last week and decided to pop in after work. I ordered this burger with cheese sticks and good Lordy it blew me away. Tried quite a few times, chicken wrap, hamburger, and spicy chicken burger. Such a disappointment. Hamburger was sooooooo thin and dry. I've waited awhile to try this place out. Tonight was the night to try it out. My daughter ordered a little burger, my Mom ordered a veggie burger, my youngest 5 chicken nuggets and I ordered a grilled chicken wrap with avocado, we also ordered a banana smoothie, cherry shake, chocolate shake and a lemonade. I docked a star because we received a soda and not a lemonade. Banana smoothie was good. They didn't put enough bananas for my tasting but it was good. My mom said her veggie burger was really good. I was eating here about once a week, I almost always get their version of a Knockout Burger. I noticed that sometimes they would leave off the Jalapeno Pepper, which of course is a main ingredient to make it a KO Burger. Despite my complaints it continued happening, 7 times is not just a mistake, it's negligence. Then I started noticing that their Bacon is Cruddy, it has big Strings that cannot be chewed up. When I complained, they told me they had recently switched to a different Bacon, and that there were no problems with their current bacon. I don't know if she was lying to me or not, but I do know that I never used to find String in my Bacon, and even though she claimed their new Bacon was String Free, I still got String in my Bacon that very night. I spent on average $15.00 per visit, apparently THEY DON'T CARE even if you are a regular. I won't be back. Not ever again. read more

So I love mom and pop burger joints. Here in modesto we have quite a few. M.O.A.B.S in my opinion is one of the best. When I saw that this place was being built I got pretty excited. It finally opened and my wife and I decided to give it a go. Here's what we ordered and here's my review. I ordered the #9 double double bacon cheese burger. She ordered the #12 teriyaki chicken burger. We got onion rings, fried mushrooms and her meal came with crinkle cut french fries. She got cherry Pepsi to drink I got diet Dr pepper. REVIEW. her burger was quite nasty. The "chicken" patty was spongy like a fake chicken nugget. It came with some shredded lettuce and one small tomato. It came with some sort of very salty teriyaki(ish) sauce and it was drenched in it. My burger wasn't bad. It wasn't great but not bad. The bacon was a little limp. I think the patties could of been hotter. They didn't taste fake or frozen. My veggies were nice. Our sides(fries, onion rings & mushrooms) were pretty gross. They all came from a plastic bag and we're thrown into the fryer. Even though they were all deep fried they still came out not so warm. The onion rings were those fake spongy ones you get at burger king. The mushrooms were crispy on the outside and cold in the middle. And the fries were a mixture of old and fresh fries. My Dr pepper was watered down tasting but my wife said her cherry Pepsi was just fine. The restaurant on the inside is pretty run down. They never changed any of the seating area from the original Marias Taco Shop. The tables were all dirty and covered with old food and the floors were littered with garbage and old food. I heard numerous customers saying how nasty it was inside. Overall, for what we got and what we paid. My wife and I could go to moabs or farmer boys and pay maybe 4-5 bucks more and get incredible food. Needless to say we won't be going back. It sucks because I love these types of burger joints but I don't see them lasting very long. read more
