Vivek was very professional and helpful over the phone was , answered all my questions, and gave me a solid time/cost estimate for a move from Burlingame, CA to Santa Clara, CA. As per schedule , three tough and strong looking men showed up at my door step 15 minutes before the scheduled start time came in, young and friendly, who quickly introduced themselves. Billy the man in-charge did a brief walk around the house, pointed out to the fine details as to what will be wrapped and pointed the existing damages prior to start the move, which gave me a very good impression of the customer service of him, and the carefulness of their work. Once the move commences, as I helped here and there, I observed some of their moving techniques particularly with large items, and I must admit. I definitely learned a few tricks. you can tell these guys were good and very experienced. my confidence in them was steadily rising by the minute, and all my worries about items being transported safely were quickly diminishing, what a real stress reliever it was. They took great care of all my fragile items, particularly the flat screen smart TV. Their truck was extremely well equipped to provide the quickest and safest move possible. i peeked inside, and they had special compartments for just about everything. let's also not forget how absolutely amazing their free wardrobe boxes were. if you've never used one before, then you're in for a real treat. I needed to move my elderly mother from a studio in one high rise to a one bedroom nearby in the San Francisco, and I needed to have it done in a very short notice, it was a nightmare since it was the end of the month weekend and every single moving company was booked. I was trying my luck and got the number to Five Star Moving and Storage from a co-worker who had just used their services a few months back. Vivek was full of customer service and really worked around his hectic schedule and sneaked our booking in between his other jobs. Neither my mother nor I had touched a *thing* -- we needed packing from square one.Vivek gave me an estimate over the phone and sent me a email confirmation right away. Two real tough looking movers showed up in the morning of the scheduled moving day and immediately got to work without wasting any of our time and money. Since we were moving in a very short notice we did not have sufficient supplies such as boxes and tapes, and they handled it right away by calling for more supplies, which were delivered without adding additional time. From the moment they arrived, the two men leaped into action, and they could not have done a better job. Billy, the foreman, was obviously extremely experienced but Ron was nothing different and showed extreme workmanship and expertise. They told me later that they both had more than forty years of combined experience in the moving business, and there was no reason in not believing them after I saw them do the actual work.They found the best, more convenient and efficient way to do everything. The two gentleman packed very well, and did NOT over pack. When I unpacked dishes, they had done everything so as to minimize waste and yet protect our property. There was none of this "nine-pieces-of-paper-when-one-will-do" nonsense. The move ended precisely on time and at the estimated price for labor and materials used. I could not have been happier with the work they did and wouldn't think of calling anyone but The Professionals in the future! I am only calling these pros's in any other moves. 150% satisfied!!! Vivek and his 2 man crew were amazingly efficient and professional. I hired them based on the 5 star ratings and so glad I did! I spoke to Vivek and advised him my situation which entailed moving a portion of my mother's belongings from Millbrae to my Pleasanton residence to store in my garage and then move the remaining belongings nearby to my mother's new assisted living residence. He gave me the quote and the estimated time over the phone. He was right on the button accurate! All I had to do was label the belongings as #1 and #2 for each location. The morning of the move I received an email from Vivek 30 minutes prior to the move advising a detailed description of the job to take place. Vivek even stopped by the job/location to introduce himself. This is customer service to the max! As for the crew, the lead man was professional and his partner followed his instructions precisely. When we arrived to the final destination both crewmen took time to speak to my mom in a heartfelt manner. Wow! After that brief moment it was back to business. When the job was complete I had to give them both a hug for their genuine hard and quick work . After this took place they walked over to my mom, gave her a hug and wished her happiness in her new venture. This was so emotional for her and I. Needless to say, my mom cried as this is one of the biggest adjustments probably in her lifetime.- giving up independent living. If you need a mover, call Five Star Moving. I have lived in 7 states and have moved well over 30 times.This was BY FAR the best, easiest and smoothest move I've ever had - and that's coming from experience! I work in the I-Tech industry and my company has been moving me around a lot. My significant other and I moved in together, so we scheduled 2 moves to happen simultaneously - which you can imagine would've turned into a total nightmare. The guys at Five Star Moving were phenomenal. Mine showed up early, with a smile and started work immediately. Three guys, and my entire three bedroom house was loaded onto the truck in three and a half hours! We hustled over to the new house, and they had completely unloaded the truck in less then three hours. 20 minutes later the second truck from Honey's house shows up, and those 3 guys had the truck completely unloaded in under two hours. One would think that movers that charge on an hourly basis would milk the clock, but these guys are so fast and efficient, it was like a rocket . They wrapped everything, bring blankets and wardrobe boxes at no charge, and have a smile on their faces the entire time - professional, friendly and AMAZING! I can't rave enough about them. The first time ever I've used moving service and I am so glad I chose Five Star Moving And Storage, which I think was one of my best decisions ever. Best Movers. After utilizing the services of Five Star I am convinced that getting quality movers is absolutely worth every single dime. We had all our stuff packed and ready in boxes. We hired their 3 man crew which was a good decision. They showed up around 8.45am, fifteen minutes before scheduled time which was perfectly fine with us, loaded up the truck with great promptness (which could have been very difficult due to the hilly streets we lived in). They didn't waste time standing around, talking or over planning everything since Vivek the owner came down a day prior to the moving day and I guess had already designed a work plan. They got to the destination before even we got there which means they did not goof around in the loaded truck trying to milk the clock as I have heard about some other movers do according to some other reviews I have read on Yelp. The started to unload immediatley.The most impressive was that the crew was super nice and humble also very polite and very friendly. They didn't complain about heavy stuff and had a very good work ethic. They didn't try to put any holes in our pocket as they were worth every single minute we had paid for. I just really can't praising these super pro movers.They totally saved the day after the other movers I had schedule dropped the ball on me just beacuse someone in their office did not put on the schedule. I guess as they say everything happens for a reson , so therefore it must have been meant for me to use super friendly Vivek at Five Star Moving and eventually end up using his super friendly and experienced movers as well.Not only are they totally affordable but they were extremely fast, efficient and most of all very kind. This move was very stressful for me and they were super friendly and reassuring. They even told me not to worry about anything "just relax". They brought all the required equipment,wrapping pads and even shrink wrapped several items and to my surprise there was no additional cost for the shrink wrap. They moved everything very fast and really went out of their way to make sure that it was all taken care of. The best of everything was that at no point I felt being taken advantage of as I was not keeping an eye on them like a hawk, Billy and Ron with Ben were just excellent.. Awesome and the most efficient moving service ever experienced. My previous moving company was not able to move me due to my last minute booking, but I am thankful to them for referring to this another great professional and efficient moving company. Despite my last minute request they were able to accommodate me in a very professional and excellent manner. The movers namely Ron , Orlando and Jaime were nothing but just the BEST. They arrived 15 minutes before the scheduled time and finished in less than the quoted time. Nothing was scratched or damaged, did not even take breaks and protected all my ceramic decoration and handled it with great care. I dealt with Vivek personally and I was surprised at the level of personal interest that he took in my moving. I moved a two story house worth of furniture from Pacifica to San Diego and I was very concerned abut handling of very expensive items worth thousands of dollars ranging from electric beds to antique items. Vivek and his crew were always a phone call away every step of the process. They loaded everything and off they went to the San Diego location. They put everything per my instructions to the proper areas of the new house while I was happily cruising in my own car to the new location. The new landlord was even surprised at the courteous demeanor of Mr Vivek and his crew. If I had to move long distance again I know I would not hesitate to call this company again. I used five star moving to move houses back in September - they were recommended by another highly rated mover on Yelp who was not available. Overall my experience with Five Star was great. I did not have them do a full packing of the house, just move furniture, boxes and other things that were more or less ready to go. The movers were very efficient and polite and really worked hard to complete the job as quickly as possible. I was pretty impressed with how hard the worked to get things done. I had a lot of stuff in my garage that went into the new garage - I could quibble about the fact that they did not stack boxes/things as compactly as I've seen other movers do. But in the end, everything arrived in good shape, they moved things into the right place and they did it all quickly and for a really good price. Nice job! After several mixed experiences with other moving company's in the past, I was very apprehensive about entrusting all of valued ( my grandmother's ) belongings for a very delicate move to essentially strangers. However, Dante , Lott and Ulises and did a great job packing and loading all of our boxes and furniture (ANTIQUES). They protected and packed all of the furniture with great care and let me take my time reading all of the documents. They did not try to nickel and dime me at the last minute like I know many other movers did to me previously and held firm to their price quote. this is the worst company ever, they are not professional, and they are not five star movers, i recently called them to inquire about a last minute move and they told me that they were on their way after i had set up a move with them,i waited patiently for about three hours, i called the 1-800 number and no one would pick up my calls, it was already 5:00 pm and i ran out of patient, I am a student and I had to finish my studies and couldn't wait anymore, i ended up scheduling another company that came early in the morning the next day and did my move. At the end of the day I didn't move when I wanted too, I lost a day of school and it was just complete lack of communication with these people be warned yelp users especially students do not use this company. read more

Called this company last minute due to truck's coming late ;and the boss (Vivek) sent a team in less than one hour. Super fast unloading, we had about 3000 lbs stuffed in a trailer, which took three movers only one hour to wipe out everything from the trailer and put them in the bedrooms and living room. They also helped us to put together the two big bed-frames. Total out of pocket is a bit high since there's a 3-hour minimum charge (we did not have much to unload so basically paying 3 times more) but totally worth it!
