This is not a place you WANT TO end up at but when you need them...they will absolutely take care of you here! Our car was ran into in a parking lot a few weeks ago and we were able to drop it off while out of town and didn't need the car anyways. With all the work and clean up that needed to be completed we were able to get that car back in original condition (at the damage site obviously). We had requested the car be done by Wednesday to have it while family visited and they were able to get us the car back on Tuesday. After looking over the door that was damaged I was more than impressed by the work as it wasn't just as simple as replacing a few parts for new parts. They repaired the area and had it painted to match the car....cant forget these repairs are all lifetime warrantied. Before the car was handed back they had it cleaned for pick up. My wife phoned me that she had been in an accident and the passenger side doors were pretty torn up. I had seen SD Collision Repair near a business we frequent so I looked them up here on Yelp. With the positive reviews I phoned them immediately and found that my wife could take the car straight there. She got there and we verified that our insurer was fine with using them I drove up and picked her up. Here is where they lost one star. I felt like getting information out of them was harder than it should have been. Regardless, once they assessed the damage and we did connect with them on the phone we found they would need the car for two weeks or more. Exceptional business! After a minor accident I was given (by the other party's insurance) 5 places to chose from to take my car. San Diego Collision Center is close to my work, close to my home, and had great reviews. I called on a Monday and they were able to get me in the next day. Stopped in and was given an estimate and only took 20 minutes in total. I also told them that I was having issues with the claims adjuster that was assigned to me and how rude he was. The next morning the adjuster called to apologize. It was nice to know that the manager of San Diego Collision Center wanted to make sure that my entire experience, including what led me to them, was a pleasant experience! I have a new Tesla. upon returning to my car at the grocery store I saw that someone damaged my front bumper. I called Garrett @ Fix Auto. He said to bring it in and he would take a look. Well, I did, they buffed out the spot and touched up the paint. I brought the paint with me. He also found another spot and buffed that out as well. I sat in their comfy waiting room watching TV. WORST experience EVER!! I recommend you stay away from this place. I was in a car accident on 11/2/17. I had AAA and they recommended this crappy place. I went and the staff was initially friendly. I was told that my car would be ready in a week or so. I let them know I was going on out of town so I will pick it up the Friday after the Thanksgiving holiday. I come back. The TV's are mission of the wall and the door was kicked in. They had a break in during the holiday. I asked if my car was secured and they ensure me it was. SO paid my $1k deductible (silly me) before I got my car. After I paid, I saw Timothy walk to the car and start patting his pockets and looking around. I waited 10-15 mins and they notified that my key was misplaced and they will find it. Needless to say the key never turned up. But they ensure that the people who broke in the shop did not take my keys that its probably lying around the shop. The key is about $500.00 to replace because, Mercedes that's why. Anyway they were kind enough to put me in a rental car and they put in a order for a new key. 3 days come by and I am still in this crappy rental car and I don't have my car. They said they were going to have a 3rd party 'rekey' the car and program another key. They they NEVER showed up. So NOW I'm getting annoyed. However Gus told me that they will take the car in this Thursday to Mercedes to have the dealership rekey the car. I was told this on a Tuesday. I called SD Collision Scam Thursday afternoon and GUS told me that my car was in the Mercedes dealership awaiting repairs. 5 mins later guess who called? The Kelsey from Mercedes, telling me that a key was ordered but it wasn't paid for programming. So I asked Kelsey was my car there are the dealership and she said "what car?" My car didn't make it to the dealership. I then called the lying body shop to confront them (I figure they were going to just program the key without rekeying my car, and lie to me to say that they did.). Timothy picked up, I told him that I know my car isn't at the dealership. Then he put me on hold, but before he pressed the hold button i heard him say, "I told them that I didn't want to deal with this!" Of course Gus never picked up the phone, So I called AAA and let them know everything and they were furious. Apparently, Gus didn't think he had to let AAA know that a break in happened while AAA's customers cars were in their facility. because he had the nerve to tell the agent that it was "none of their business." Not sure if AAA moved away from this place but I had to go to the dealership myself to retrieve my key. I have not heard from the body shop since then. So I get car and I noticed everything in my truck is in disarray. Not sure why they would need to get into my trunk because the damn was on the front passenger side panel. and found out that my Laptop is mission. So Now I have to sue the bodyshop to for damages. Oh BTW a few weeks later my air suspension on the collision site completed deflated. It was related to the accident. They didn't even replace it!!! i had to pay $3k out of my own pocket to get this fix. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE read more

I took my Mercedes here since my regular mechanics didn't repair the body. I told Garrett, I won't be needing my car for three weeks so they should have enough time to complete the repairs and body work. He said that will be enough time. It took them over two months. No really, over two months. When I got it back the coolant was still leaking and the engine was making a noise that wasn't there before. They said the repair for the noise would be over $1000. I took it back and they said nothing was wrong and just topped off the coolant. I told him that there was coolant in my driveway so something had to be going on. I told Garrett I was going to have some other place look at it and that's when he rudely told me to just come pick up my car. I took the car home and next morning my driveway was covered in coolant again. I took it to another place and they told me that a hose was loose. They also fixed the noise that was coming from the back of my car. It all only cost $350 total including the inspection. I did my best to be patient and work with this place but they are very unprofessional. read more

He was nice and answered all my Questions and stuff . So I get An estimate for Repairs for my Car and I ask Gus for a Print Out And He was nice enough to print me out a copy so I can keep . Now as for the Service I say So So !! Because Please be Aware and Be Advise That If you don't have Car Insurance and or The Insurance is not paying then they will hold your Car until they get approval of Payment !! Which really Sucks !! Because I called almost everyday to see if I can get my car back but they would not give it back to me !! It was done and ready but they held it and would not return it !! So Just make sure you Check your Insurance Company or other Insurance to make sure they pay or you will never get your Car Back !!! As for the Repairs it was done like New !! Paint was Beautiful and it look like it just came out of the Factory !! But Overall I would think Twice before returning !!! read more

I would advise anyone to stay clear of this shop based on the incredibly frustrating experience I had with them. When driving down a mountain road at night a dump trunk was dropping rock salt on the road. The rock salt created dings and chips all down the passenger side of my car as well as on the front and on the hood. My usual body shop was booked up for several weeks so I went with San Diego Collision Repair based on the fact that they were also a State Farm preferred shop. I dropped my car off on a Monday morning and was told it would be ready a week and a half later on the following Wednesday. I was called with an update later in the week and was told they would call again on Monday with status on my car. I never received a call Monday but was called late Tuesday and told my car would not be ready the next day. Due to how many dings they had to fix it took longer than expected. My car would be ready on Friday. They would call Thursday to give an update. They never called. I called Friday morning and was told the car should be ready around 3:30 or 4pm. I called back a bit after 3pm to see if it was about ready. I was then sent photos of my car. When looking through them I noticed there was a trim piece running along the entire front of the car that was still covered in dings and chips. I then received a call letting me know that the shop had forgotten to order this piece. I'm not sure how that was overlooked throughout the entire two weeks they had my car especially since the damage to the piece was so blatantly obvious (see photo). After getting off the call I continued to look through the photos and found that there was still remaining damage elsewhere. When I asked about it I was told that there were actually four parts that had to be ordered, something they originally neglected to tell me. They promised to rush the order and have everything done by end of business Monday. I go to pick up my car first thing Tuesday morning and as I'm walking around the car I notice numerous small bumps in the paint job. As I start pointing them out they start marking them with tape and promise that they will just buff out. I was skeptical that they could be buffed out and annoyed that yet once again my car wasn't ready. They deliver my car mid-day to my work. I was happy to see the bumps did actually buff out. What I was not happy to see was that there was still damage on a piece of the bumper below the passenger side fog light. They had literally replaced the part above it and below it and somehow missed a very visible ding as well as several smaller marks on the piece directly between the two parts they replaced. Unreal. I had to take my car back to the shop to have them remove this piece and completely repaint it. That took yet another day. Upon finally get my car back the last time I noticed that my windshield spray nozzles weren't functioning. I topped off the reservoir and upon trying to use them a huge puddle formed under my car. When replacing my hood, they never bothered to reconnect the hose. It was an easy enough fix but yet another issue in a long list of sloppy and careless work by San Diego Collision Repair. Brought my mom's 2020 Mercedes-Benz coupe in gor repair. Picked it up after a few weeks, after taking it for a test drive I can tell that the alignment was not repaired due to the aggressive pull to the right. I brought this up to my insurance company State Farm who contacted them. I also contacted them personally and spoke with a representative who delt with the repair "Sandy". Instead of telling me to bring the vehicle in she continues to tell me it's because there was a new tire just put on the front left. Well being a professional driver that race track cars and motorcycles, I knew it was bs. But what struck me is instead of investigating she just came up with excuses. She also stated the 3rd party company does great work and has been for years. She told me if I want I can take it into the alignment shop if I want myself. First off, that's not my job. Fix Auto is paid through my insurance company to handle all repair matters pertaining to this vehicle. I insisted they handle it and take it in. I had a rental that I had to keep an extra day, i stated I would expect them to reimburse me for that rental. She said of course, I bring it up to her again and she asked ohh you had a rental? Of course I would get a rental Sandy if the vehicle is being worked on again?! Anyway, I was told by "Sandy's" colleague that the alignment was not 100% and they didn't know how it was completely off after being fixed. I have the paperwork on how completely off it was. So I call her weeks later, she states the reimbursement is coming from Enterprise and not Fix Auto. I call Enterprise and they tell me that she never returned their call after telling an associate from Enterprise that she would call them back about payment they needed to send the car rental company. So here we are 2 months later and no refund.... I wouldn't recommend this particular Fix Auto to any of my friends or family or anyone for that matter if they don't want to get the runaround. I will be contacting my insurance company to make another complaint regarding this issue. I also have a part 2 for any consumers interested in hearing regarding the car battery after receiving the vehicle back. Being drained and getting alerts from Mercedes Me app that constantly keeps me in the loop on the vehicle activities and status while in the shops care.
