I would give this auto body shop a zero if it were available. I took my damaged car to them at the recommendation of my AAA insurance company, 11/6/15. They gave me an estimate after a suspected garbage truck bumped into my rear end / trunk pushing my passenger side into the high curb damaging the underside by the passenger door. My insurance company called and asked if Fix Auto could take pictures since my insurance is in N. California and they get better pictures from the auto shop than independent adjusters. I called Fix Auto Poway and my adjuster was not available, so I talked with the supervisor who told me to bring it in. I took it in and Robert took pictures and I provided him the AAA insurance adjuster number, email, and fax. He told me he would email them the same day. After waiting several weeks, I called AAA for repair authorization, and they had not received the pictures so I called Fix Auto Poway and left a message with Robert and the supervisor. I did not get a call back. Since then, I received several calls from AAA and they called Fix Auto Poway several times. It is now January, and neither AAA or I have been able to get a return phone call. When I called Fixed Auto today 1/15/2016, I was told they threw the pictures away. I talked with the supervisor and got about the same "lack of ownership" response. They take no ownership because they said they were taking the photos as a courtesy. I have worked with my insurance company for 46 years. When my prior car was damaged twice and had the repairs done at 2 different auto shops in San Diego County I never had a problem. I personally cannot recommend Fix Auto Poway and would not take my car there after the response I received trying to get the issue resolved. read more

I had my Lexus repaired by Chrome Collision a few weeks back and upon picking it up, noticed a small chip in the new bumper that was just painted. That was a little annoying, but as it was driven away I found that the new headlight they put in wasn't working and they didn't fill the new windshield wiper bottle and it was showing low fluid. I later found that the headlight wasn't hooked up so I had to take it apart yo hook it up myself. I expressed my concerns to the office manager who was supposed to get back to me, but she never got back to me. I am sure the work is probably OK overall, but there is am issue with attention to detail. It is clearly just a production shop. read more

Just got my 2008 Lexus IS 250 back from Fix Auto Poway, as a first time customer. The entire experience with this shop was top rate. Their responsiveness in providing a quote was exceptional, progress updates could not have been done better, and the work was great. The work consisted of fixing dents in the rear quarter panel area, as well as repainting the front bumper for areas bared by scraping against concrete curbs. Call me a happy customer. Was recommended to Fix Auto Poway (previously Chrome Collision) by my insurance company, USAA. Brought it in for a quick assessment and was told the part would be there in a few days. Took my car back, and got a call 2 days later saying the part had arrived. The staff was very helpful and accommodating in my schedule. Dropped it off for repairs (bumper replacement), expecting the 3 day turnaround. That evening, received a call saying my car was ready. This business was a disappointment, they started dismantling my truck before I made a decision on my claim. Communication about the missing items was poorly handled and if it were not for the receptionist, I would think that no one there cared one bit. I've been here twice and couldn't be happier. I was initially referred here by a friend when I was looking to sell my 10 year old car, I had some minor dings that needed fixing. The first thing I noticed was how impressive of a facility this is. I'm not sure how many auto body shops people have seen before, but I'm used to the grimy little shop with a couple of bays. This place is the opposite, it's quite large and always clean. Everyone I met with was extremely helpful and made me comfortable leaving my car there. When I picked up my car, it looked brand new again, I was shocked. Definitely made it easier to sell. The second visit was not long after owning my new car, someone rear ended me on the highway and smashed my back end. The other driver's insurance company asked me if I had a preferred body shop, so I went with Chrome Collision (now called Fix Auto). Everything was handled between the insurance company and the people at Fix Auto, so I didn't have to do anything. I have to admit, I was worried my car wouldn't feel new again after getting hit at about 30mph, but that concern went away the minute after getting it back. I'm very happy with the work they do here, even the owner took time to talk to me and set my mind at ease. Great shop! read more

A terrible experience with this business, made worse by their rude and disrespectful customer service. Made the mistake of taking Geico's advice and took my SUV there after being rear-ended. Went ahead with their recommended repairs following an initial inspection, but quickly realized there was still some significant mechanical issues once I picked it up. Fix Auto refused to even investigate the issues claiming that "I should expect this type of problem with an eight year old vehicle" and "you didn't hear the knocking before because you probably drive with the radio loud". Unbelievably disrespectful. Had to take it to a second shop where they found that, indeed, Fix Auto had missed significant accident-related mechanical issues leaving me with a vehicle dangerous to drive. They failed to find: a broken bracket holding the spare wheel to the bottom of the vehicle, leaving the spare dangling by a single bolt at risk of falling off whilst I was driving (the knocking I could hear); damaged rear suspension; damage to the braking system; a broken rear evaporation can. All related to the impact and all covered following an inspection by a second Geico adjuster. Even worse was that Fix Auto had even failed to complete the work they included in their estimate leaving repaired frame rails without any corrosion protection. The second, honest shop I found had to correct that issue too. I would avoid Fix Auto Poway at all costs. Not only were the repairs they did shoddy and incomplete, but they also let me drive away with an obviously dangerous mechanical defect and refused to do anything to try and correct it despite two return visits. read more

My new cadillac Ats was backed into and Fix Auto Poway was a recommended shop through Geico. From the moment I walked in the Customer service was on point. They also had a rental car there waiting for me. The facilities were clean, spacious and comfortable. The Geico Adjuster, Justin and Curtis who works for Fix Auto were extremely courteous and informative. I was so impressed with them I also asked them to fix a wheel I had scratched on a curb and they were able to get that done in the same time frame as the claim related incident. The ladies helping me at checkin and checkout were friendly and efficient. The whole experience was A+++++ and while I hope I don't need their services again I would seek them out first!!!! read more

Really upset with the poor communication of this facility and with how they straight up lied to me. My car was brought into this shop because I was rear ended. It took them several days to begin their estimate. I wasn't aware my car had been totaled. I stopped by before they told me that it was totaled and picked up SOME of my belongings. Later that day they called saying that my car might be a total loss, they'd have to speak with the insurance first. It was totaled, so my insurance told them to keep the car there until a certain time. Today I went there and my car had been towed away yesterday, when it was supposed to be towed away tomorrow. Apparently I gave a verbal "ok" to have my car towed away with my belongings still in it. Makes sense right? Now I have to drive all the way to otay Mesa to possibly pick up my belongings, if they're still there. ALSO, I'm told the receptionist told my boyfriend that I shouldn't be so rude, otherwise no one would want to talk to me. Okay, so they're unaware of how to provide customer service (do their job) when a customer is upset and speaking assertively to them. Really incompetent, your facility has been paid to perform a service. I just lost a car that I loved, and now I have to travel an extra 80 miles to get my mothers handicap placard. How would you feel in this situation even though you're "just a receptionist?" Tldr; this place is crap. read more

I recently visited the Chrome Collision Center in Poway for body work on my prized Toyota Celica GTS. From the moment I entered the lounge of their beautiful building I felt like a valued customer. I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and invited to enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw a quote for repairs that was lower than other estimates. When I realized my repairs would involve a custom color match, I asked if my unassembled toy model of a Celica GTS could be spray painted the same metallic blue as my full scale car. Greg, manager and fellow car enthusiast, thought it was a novel idea and agreed to do it along with other extra work on my full scale car at no additional charge. Just when I thought things couldn't get any better I met the owner, Gary who offered to assemble the detailed model for me out of sheer kindness! "Both cars" were delivered ahead of schedule and are showroom quality!!! I highly recommend Chrome Collision Center which is easily accessible just off Scripps Poway Parkway close to Costco. This is truly a first-class body shop where no job is too small or too big... from polishing head lights to total restoration. read more

Gregg is the President and he and the rest of the team there treat their clients like no other company I've dealt with. Terrible customer service, not sure you could find more condescending​ employees who run the front office. Terrible communication, the "text updates" are completely wrong which they admit. If your estimator is Ryan he will not call you back. In my case, 3 left messages, no callback​. Didn't even know my car was ready until I called a fourth time. We have used this place twice because our insurance claims it is a "preferred shop", which means they are part owners​. Both times we had several issues. Recently I needed my taillight repaired through my insurance and this place not only turned my car around same day, but were friendly through the entire process! They even washed and vacuumed my car before I picked it up. Recommended by my insurance company, Mercury, after some fender/bumper damage. Pros: - Very friendly and accommodating service - Our service representative was easily accessible via telephone whenever we had an issue/question/concern (if you have different daytime/evening numbers, be sure to clearly specify which number they should contact you at to avoid the phone tagging that we often experienced) - Clean facility, timely return of my vehicle (picked at the end of the 6th business day) - Quick quoting/estimate process with a detailed and complete printout - Flexible scheduling (we had to wait about a month before dropping off the vehicle for personal reasons and there was no issue with that) - Upon request, they went around and put some touch up paint on a few spots (except the hood) - I had dropped the car off, aware that one HID headlight was burnt out. They went ahead and replaced both headlights with regular halogens. (see cons section for concerns) However, they left both ballasts in place. They did offer to install the new HID set that I had bought on my own for free during pickup, but I refused the service. - Washed and vacuumed my vehicle before I picked it up - Paperwork process was fast and hassle-free - Lifetime guarantee on their repairs Cons: - I was aware that one of my HID headlights were out upon dropping my car off, but they had stated that the other headlight also went out, which was news to me since it had been functioning the entire week prior. I believe they went ahead and replaced BOTH headlights with halogens, and then proceeded to contact us about doing so. Luckily, I had already purchased a new and complete HID set to replace my existing ones, however if I had only purchased a single new HID bulb to replace the one that went out on me to find that they replaced my working (at the time of drop off) HID with halogens as well, then I would've had an issue. Because this was not the case though, it didn't matter. They had good intentions in doing what they did and now I have an additional set of halogens, but I can see how this bit of miscommunication could have resulted otherwise. - One of the windows was non-functioning (window lock wasn't on), but this wasn't realized until the day after pickup. We came by with the car again, they took a look at it, resolved the issue, and we left within 15 minutes. It was a hassle to have to drive back and deal with this tiny issue, but I'm happy it was resolved quickly and they were still very friendly even at last minute's notice. read more

To start off my story my car had major scratches on the side from someone who was parking their car and hit me. I filed a claim with their insurance company and their insurer told me the work would be done here. I took my vehicle in and had an appointment. The office staff are incredibly nice and the adjuster was on site which made it very convenient. Work was done very quickly and the rental car company was there as well. Overall they did a 10/10 job. Back in July 2013, I was sitting at an off-ramp in San Diego when an old guy exiting the freeway decided to not pay attention and rear ended me at 45 mph! WTF!?! After dislodging myself from under the dash, I opened Yelp on my iPad and looked for the nearest Honda dealership. They wouldn't repair it but highly recommended Chrome Collision which had very high ratings on Yelp. I checked a few other places close by but they seemed to be the best option. As soon as I arrived in the tow truck, I entered the front office to find a very professional and clean business inside. I was offered a cold bottle of water and got signed in right away. I hadn't even finished the paper work and Gary was patiently standing by to take me to my car and assess the damage. Gary was very professional, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He explained the process and answered all of my concerns like it was something he had been doing for his entire life. Turns out he is the owner of the whole place and here he is, waiting on me and going through the details in the hot mid-day sun! I was shocked to say the least and was very comforted that I had selected the right company. Overall, my car was repaired to a condition better than it was before the accident. I received weekly calls to update me on the status which was very nice. A few issues came up along the way which required more parts that ultimately delayed the repair process beyond my 30 day rental car period provided by my insurance company. As I complained out loud that I would have to pay for a few extra days out of my pocket for the rental car, without even asking, Lynn got up and went to ask her boss to approve payment for my extra rental car fees. I had my truck repaired by Fix auto Ramona who went out of business, the bumper they installed rusted in three weeks so I took it to fix auto Poway after reading the fix auto warranty that stated I had a lifetime warranty at ANY fix auto, long story short they charged my insurance company (who had already paid fix auto) because they were not the original installer and " somebody had to Pay for it" so much for the warranty I could go on and on about the crappy service I have rcvd from fix auto both in Ramona and Poway stay clear of forked tongue fix auto. read more

In early 2016 I was in an auto accident; FixIt was one of the repair facilities approved by my insurance agency. FixIt Poway did the repair, and the repair looked good, but months later my alarm started sporadically going off. After many months, and, at my cost, I took my Lexus into a dealership, it was determined that the cause was that the accident had caused a small dent inside of the rear passenger door, which kept the sensor in the door from making full contact. As a temporary measure I put four strips of duct tape over the dent, and the alarm quit going off. The Lexus dealership advised me to take it back to FixIt in Poway. I did so; FixIt looked at the car and refused to take responsibility. Over the next few months I corresponded with my insurance company. My insurance company reimbursed me for the money I had paid Lexus, and also paid the full amount to have another repair facility in Poway correct the dent, after which the alarm no longer went off. This was the 2nd time I had used FixIt in Poway; it was also the last time. read more

This the best body shop I ever dealt with in last 15 years. I used to work on software which deals with cars parts, repairs and body work so I exactly understand what they are talking about. They gave us a tour of their facility and they have state of art repair facility for repairing car damage and all the body work. They are very detailed oriented, very honest on both time and effort. They have very well defined process for dropping and picking up in short amount of time. I took both of my cars to repair one was accident, The Honda Odyssey front bumper headlight and side quarter panel got damaged and they repaired it and restored to brand new condition. They replaced all of the damaged parts with original Honda parts. I worked both with Greg and Gary and they were very thorough, detailed about the repairs, expectations and they are great to work with. read more

Jay at Fix Auto Poway is hands down one the best people and businesses I've ever dealt with. I can't put into words how grateful I am with Jay's help. A deer hit my car in Napa Valley and when I tried to get it fixed up in the Bay Area, the shop charged so much the insurance company wanted to declare my car a total loss. I decided to drive it back down to San Diego and go specifically to Jay at Fix Auto Poway since they did a fantastic job on my car before. When I told Jay my whole ordeal he said he'd make sure the cost to fix the car would be reasonable and the car would not be declared a total loss. He came through for me and gave me the best Christmas present ever. The car was fixed and not declared a total loss. Moreover, throughout the process just as before, Jay gave me regular updates every two days to let me know the repair status so I was never left wondering. Also they had the car finished in a week. I just picked up my car, and no kidding, the work they did made my 2008 car look as though it just came off the showroom floor. In addition to that, the car was sparking clean on the inside too. I cannot say enough great things about Fix Auto Poway and more important, what a super great person Jay is with his work ethic and taking care of customers. You are the BEST Jay! read more

STAY AWAY!! Don't ever take your car here is you want it back even remotely close to its pre accident state!! This was a USAA recommended shop and the destroyed my truck after what was a fairly minor accident...I was side swiped while pulling my horse trailer. There was minimal body damage to the passenger side, but the car hit my right front tire pretty good and knocked it was out of alignment, broke the break caliper, and stripped the steering box. All of this was noted when the truck was towed in. Two weeks later when I picked it up, I drove two blocks and noticed a horrible grinding so I took it right back to them. All they said was 'yeah, we noticed that too'. Really?? You're going to let me drive up the Poway grade with two small children like that?? Turns out, all they did was paint the side and didn't do anything about the rest...AND none of the gauges on my dash worked anymore AND someone had forcibly ripped out my overhead dome light AND my truck was incredibly muddy which was not how I dropped it off. After having it for another month, I went and picked it up and huge shock, my windows wouldn't roll up, there were several lights on the dash that were blinking...door sensors and airbag sensors. My back doors wouldn't open and they blamed all of it on me saying it must have all happened in the two days I actually had it back. Now the paint where they did paint, is peeling because they just painted over the old paint and I've spent almost $3k trying to get the rest fixed because they have refused to make it right. THIS is how they treat their veterans!! Small claims court here we come!! read more

stay away!!!!! geico referred me and it's been one big headache. if you have upgrades on your car don't come here. i had upgrades headlights on my car and they were going to replace only one with a factory headlight! i had to fight for the sane ones i had before!! then they bought the wrong ones and wanted me to pay for it! i picked up my car and my windshield was cracked after being in their shop!!!! within a week the bumper they replaced was falling off!!!! don't cone here!!!!!!! i told geico not to refer customers here because it is seriously a joke. check your car extremely well before leaving if you end up going here. not recommended!!!!!!!!!!! read more

What an amazingly smooth operation! It was a major bummer to have to deal with an annoying fender bender. But once I met my advisor, a representative from Enterprise Rental was right there waiting for us. After a week, my advisor called and my car was as good as new! They even washed it for me too. Great service. Deducted one star for antiquated payment options though. My car was in maybe, maybe not ready before the long weekend. I drove 20 miles to pick it up 30 minutes before closing once I was told it would be ready. I realized I forgot my wallet. I had my phone and requested to do a direct mobile money transfer and they said no. Luckily the bank was close and they helped me out or I would be stuck with car rental fees over the long weekend. Yes, my fault for forgetting but in present day not having modern payment options is a disadvantage. read more

I called their shop on a wednesday and their representative told me that i can drop off my car next day since an estimate has already been done to my car weeks ago. i dropped off my car on a thursday and only then that they told me they wont repair it until monday, therefore i wont get a rental car that is covered by the insurance until monday. this ruined my weekend plan where hotels are already booked. they wont compensate for their employee's mistake....... and the managers were so rude and so as the staffs. make sure they explain eeevveeerrryyyything when dealing with this people.... and call the 1800 # instead of their direct office number so all calls are recorded, otherwise they will deny you had that conversation with their representative......better yet don't come here!!!! and reading other horror reviews here.... i wont take the risk having them "fix" my car...... who knows what they will ruin just to get back at me!!!!! thanks for ruining my new year with canceled trip that left me with unnecessary expenses!!!! bad business!!!!!!! read more
