We ordered two very full glasses of sangria which were quite strong, but very yummy. I ordered the street corn bowl, which came fast in about 10 minutes. I loved my bowl! It had a good proportion of all the ingredients, which included rice, beans, lettuce, cheese, corn, sour cream, avocado, and chicken. I was worried there wouldn't be any meat in the bowl so I was happy to see that the bowl came with chicken. Awesome spot for a fast and yummy lunch. I walked in for a quick lunch on a Thursday. The place and its decorations have a pretty homey, almost antique-y vibe; I was digging the interior. I ordered 3 tacos: ground beef ($2.95), al pastor ($2.95), and fish ($3.45). But the person that took my order seemed to really not want to be there; she answered my question about the menu in a tired, deadpan way, which made me just order quickly and sit down at a table. The tacos were brought to me promptly. But I thought there was a lot of room for improvement in their flavors. It was interesting to find potatoes in my ground beef and al pastor tacos, and pineapples in my al pastor tacos. I'm okay with pineapples on pizza, but I don't know how I feel about them in pork tacos... I've been to Flaco's twice now and each time it was always to relax, grab a margarita or two, and enjoy some cheap Tex-Mex after spending what feels like a fortune on a drink at the Signature Lounge. They have daily drink specials on the menu. On Saturdays, they offer up $4 Sangritas which can deal a lot of damage. Feeling peckish, I went with an Al Pastor Torta ($6.95). Really good meat on the inside and more filling than simply a taco. That meal definitely hit the spot, and I had to make sure I grabbed another Sangrita before last call. Outside of chiptole and burrito beach, I didn't expect to find another fast food mexican restaurant. The store itself is hidden up on the second floor of the building. I was surprised that the burritos were quite large and the steak was flavored with traditional spices. The tacos were not large at all. Not quite sure why the other reviewers thought 2 were enough. One of my favorite places to hit up after a long day knowing that I'd be fed pretty well for a small price! Mondays and Tuesdays are my favorite days to visit. Monday for 3 dollar frozen margaritas (3.5 for flavored ones) and do not let the price fool you-- those Margs are strong! Tuesdays are their $1 taco days (limited to 4 per person). The dressing on the fish tacos was thick and taste low quality and awful. The fish was dry and bland. Steak taco was below average too, the steak was chewy and lack of favour. The al pastor burrito was huge and tastes ok. I thought the portion was generous and prices were ok given the location. Staff was friendly. The inside of the restaurant was stuffy and quite warm. The outdoor seating was crammed and right next to a busy street, good for people watching but also a spot to sit and inhale loads of carbon monoxide from constant traffic. I wish the food was better. Good deals, limited seating, weird smell. Flaco's is a bit of a hole in the wall, but they're food is pretty good, and their daily deals are what I live for. On Mondays, their classic lime margarita is $3, and their other flavored ones at $3.50. And they are pretty strong. Great to kick off a long week of school for my friends and I. Their taco Tuesday, has $1 tacos. Every week it's a different taco, so call ahead to find otu what it is if you're worried you won't like it. They do switch it up, so sometime it's vegetarian or vegan even. Overall, their tacos taste pretty good. They are pretty small, so I usually have to eat 3 to feel sated, not stuffed. Flacos is a difficult place to find seating in; they don't have many seats, and they're tables are pretty small. The whole place could probably hold ~30 people max. I think it would be prudent for most people to take out. Unfortunately, you cannot take out any of the alcohol. So, sometimes you jut have to wait for a table, or go with a smaller group.
