Horrible experience. Worst costumer service. This business is a disgrace and should be removed from Mclean area. I can't begin to express my disappointment towards this business. I've used their service maybe 5 times and out of the 5 times they've damaged my car twice. This last experience was so far the worst EVER. They first completely broke off the button for my back window and than cracked my windshield right in the middle (I drive a Mercedes Benz C300 2020 ) after seeing the crack I immediately wanted to speak with a manager. A guy came to me calling himself a manager, he barely spoke English. All I understood was "a rock did this not us" he kept saying the same thing over & over again. Than he said my car was the only one damaged out of all the other cars and "this never happens" so they called it a "spider web affect" than I spoke with Robby Banks which apparently is running this Sh** show. He automatically came rushing to me saying it's not their fault. He said "this happens all the time, the heat of the machines cause the spider web affect" WHICH TOTALLY CONTRADICTED what the other guy said. Than I explained the button situation for the window and he said "my workers don't even touch that area of the car" I WATCH THE LADY CLEAN THAT WHOLE SECTION. Everything is on camera and they completely tried to cover all their traces. He even told me he couldn't deal with me anymore so he was gonna call the police, all because I didn't want to give him my insurance info (which HE should've given me to begin with) and I should've threatened him to call the police not vice versa, I'm the one with a damaged vehicle. He was in my face the whole time from the beginning yelling at me and I didn't hear not one word of empathy towards my situation, not 1 care in the world, total jerk. All of Mclean should stay away from this place. Mclean is a decent, well known high class area. We should not be dealing with people like this. And, the cleaning crew are clearly scared and potentially threatened by these so called managers because one of the lady's specifically came to my window that day while I was calling my insurance begging me to not tell anyone she cleaned the inside of my doors where the buttons to my windows are because she would get fired. read more

I just had my car "washed". I paid $28 for the Platinum wash. This place was busy, but that doesn't make it ok that they gave me a basic wash and only noticed when the other cars were getting foam treatment and mine did not. I notified the woman behind the cash register, and she said. "I didn't see it. I can't do anything. Go out side and tell the guy named Boo - maybe it was a different name as I couldn't understand her. I went outside and they all said they couldn't do anything. So I was SCAMMED out of money. On top of it, my car was never vacuumed - there was loose hair on the back seat that was still there. They wouldn't give me a discount, rewash my car, OR refund me. I have been to this car wash place over several decades, sporadically, because I don't live very close to it, anymore. The people there might come across a bit gruff at first because they are not native speakers (though pretty fluent), but they are actually really nice. The lady at the cash register was willing to give me an extra discount since I only wanted the exterior washed and treated with wax and Rain-X in order not to have anyone enter my car (due to COVID-19). I got my car washed today and as luck would have it, there was a poop-up rain shower right as they finished wiping the car down after the wash. I drove home in the rain and got t to my neighborhood where it had not rained yet and there was a landscaper with a leaf blower who was stirring up dust right as in was driving by! When I got home, the car was full of spots that I thought were left over from me rinsing the car with a hose the day before. I called Embassy Auto Wash to ask if they had a way to remove those spots and the lady at the cash register told me to come back. Even though the car getting dirty immediately was none of their fault, Bou, the manager, carefully wiped the entire car down again to get rid of all of the water and dirt marks! He patiently wiped everywhere I pointed out. The car looked spotless again and this time I got home before a drop of rain got on the car. THANK YOU! One more thing that I really appreciated it's that everyone was wearing a mask and nobody treated me as strange for wanting to stay in the car and wanting to keep my safe distance. read more

I just had my car washed and spent $35.00 with all the add ons I asked for. The inside of my car was absolutely filthy when they finished and I had to go buy some armor all wipes to finish the job myself. I also had to go by a gas station and vacuum it as it did not look like they bothered with the back. Moreover, the people were extremely rude and yelled at me to come get my car only to tell me they hadn't finished it. I have never experienced such a bad car wash and will not be returning ever again. I will also warn all of my friends to avoid this so called car wash. The person who took my order doesn't really speak much English more than a few words and certainly didn't care that I asked him to take all the trash off the floors. After I realized they didn't take the trash out; I asked him to take the trash out and vacuum the area and he said no and walked away since they just closed. I will be talking to a manger later to address this. The floor mats were still crusted with mud and sandy. I had to ask them to re-do the floor mats and wipe down the door jams since it was all untouched. They didn't touch the trunk area. You've been warned. This place is terrible. read more

The owner (older man with white hair) was taking the car wash order and I asked him what the coupon would include and he said Full Service Wash but never detailed what that meant. Wrote me my white ticket and handed it back to me. My Dad was with me and went to go ask one of the workers to be sure to scrub my tires because they were pretty filthy, the owner then walked over and told my Dad that the "wheel package" was extra...ok that's fine. The owner then came back and rewrote my white ticket and it was at that point that my Orange coupon either fell or the owner took it. I went inside to pay and told the woman that I couldn't find it and she said she'd wait. I searched my bags and once the car was done searched the whole entire car. Couldn't find it ANYWHERE, but knew that I had had it 4 minutes ago. The owner saw it, I saw it and my Dad saw it. Told the woman the story and she said you need to go talk to the owner outside and tell him that. So I approached him...I barely go the words out of my mouth "I can't find my ticket that I showed you can you help me find it..." and he immediately snapped saying things like: well that's your loss, i don't have it, don't be so careless and had an extremely raised voice. I asked him if he remembers seeing the ticket and he said "yes you asked for a full service wash" I said ok great. I can't find it can we just go inside and talk to the cashier and he said no you have to pay full price. I asked if he thought I was trying to steal a car wash from him and he threw his hands up and said well maybe you are... Now, OK. It's a $20 car wash...WHY would someone try and steal a $20 car wash in McLean?!? Also, the fact that he assumed that first instead of trying to resolve a problem is BACKWARDS in customer service. At this point, one of his workers came over and said he saw the ticket and gave it to the cashier. I walked in and told her this and she also snapped and said no no i don't have it, you need to pay full price. I said look I understand that we can't find the ticket and you need to treat it as cash but both your OWNER and worker saw the ticket and we can't find it. She said go tell him to come in. Another worker came up to me and said he put the ticket in the car and HE walked over and got the ticket and brought it to me. So I went inside and gave her the ticket and she immediately asked why one of the workers had it and that she was going to yell at them for taking my ticket...as if THAT was the problem. He was HELPING me out. Or maybe they think that everyone is trying to steal a car wash from them and even their workers tried to steal a ticket from me so he could wash his car for free. But judging by my own experience and the previous posts it is obvious that the workers don't even wash their cars there because they are SO BAD. Thank you to the workers who helped me solve the problem. I hope you guys find new jobs where the management is better and the quality of work is higher. I should also note that the car wash wasn't that busy for a Sunday (looks like people are starting to take notice that this place is awful) I'm also 9 months pregnant..now I know that special treatment shouldn't be given to pregnant women but to think I'd steal a car wash from you? Alright, after having been to several autowashes in the area, I'd have to say that this one is par for the course. They try to make themselves out to being a more quality car wash but it's no different than Mr. Wash or any other joint in the area. I'm a stickler for details but when you run over my windows with the same towel that you used to wipe down my car, I'm not going to leave impressed. I've been to this location in the past and I was so disappointed with how they treated me when I went in with a Groupon. I thought by getting the premium car wash, my car would get cleaned well, but I ended up cleaning it myself. I bought Groupons for 2 Platinum car washes... one for me and one for my fiancé. In the description it says: "Each wash includes: *Exterior wash *Triple-coat wax *Chassis bath *Wheel treatment *Tire shine *Clear-coat poly-glaze protectant *Rain-X protectant *Floorboard vacuuming *Interior-window cleaning *Doorjamb wipe-down *Dashboard dusting *Fresh scent" They did a poor job with both of our cars. They didn't wipe down his dashboard or clean the interior. My car: they missed 2 spots of bird poop and after 2 times of me asking them to clean the interior, they did it reluctantly... meaning, they didn't wipe down the areas, just moved the rag over the area. They didn't even clean the inside of any of my windows. For both of our cars, they didn't do the wheel treatment or tire shine. I pointed it out, but they ignored me and walked away. I couldn't get anyone's attention. I paid extra to have my trunk vacuumed, but the guy only did it when I pointed it out on my receipt. Both of our door jams are filthy and they never added the "fresh scent" to my car. I honestly think if I paid a teenager $10 to wash my car, they would have done a better job. I'm really disappointed because in the past, they used to be thorough, this time... I felt like they were annoyed that I was even there. The sad part is that I went around 10:30 on a weekday morning... hardly any body was there. So they had the time, they just didn't care that I had paid for $46 worth of car wash... and got the service of a $7 car wash at a gas station where you drive through... and that's it. Terrible experience. Especially with the owner, Robby, who flat-out lied to me and completely insulted my intelligence. I absolutely warn and caution anyone from going to this car wash for the following reason: The car wash track, which guides the left wheels of your car, has a huge metal section at the end of the car wash when the car is drying. This can and may damage both of your left wheels. See photos. Making matters worse; to enter the track, one must make a sharp left turn...there's no "direct shot" with the entry angle. which leaves both of the left wheels destined for hard contact from the beginning. Before you continue, know this: My car is just 1 month old. I don't drive it in the snow. The wheels are so fresh that all four (4) wheels still have the little circle sticker on them, from the manufacturer. From the viewing window, inside the car wash, I watched the damage happen. When my car exited the wash, I immediately inspected the wheels. Both of the left wheels were severely damaged. Both wheels now have two-inch-long gouges. The location is exactly where you'd expect them to be, as one wheel passed by the metal track corner, then the next. I tested this later by placing a mark on the ground (to mimic the car wash track's exposed metal). As the car idled by the mark on the ground, both gouges lined right up to the mark on the ground. Furthermore, both gouges have obvious linear scratch marks. Both gouges are at the outermost point of the wheel design (where the wheel was most exposed), both appear to be cut by the same object, are the same length, etc. I immediately found the owner, Robby, and explained the situation. The owner, Robby, made the following excuses and assertions (all of which, if told to you, will be lies): 1. The reason for the damage is because your air pressure is too low. What? 2. The track has no metal (which of course, it does, and is obviously seen from the interior viewing windows while a car finishes the wash) 3. You'll love this quote "it's not our fault, the damage is from a rock, which you must have hit during the recent snowfall....".....what? 4. "Have your insurance company contact our insurance company" and see if you can get your insurance company to cover it." To which I replied: "will you accept responsibility" to which Robby answered "NO" before calling me an X-hole for asking him to accept responsibility for the damage. 5. I asked Robby if I could run my car 2 more times. I wanted to see if the car wash would do additional damage. If so, then we'd agree that Embassy Auto-wash would take responsibility. I even offered to pay for the extra two washes, as I was, and remain, certain it was the car washes fault. Robby refused. Friends, don't go to this car wash, or, at the very least, find Robby and show him your left wheels. Have him confirm that your wheels are free from damage, and insist he meets you on the other side to inspect the wheels before you leave. Short of doing this, you'll be lied to, insulted, called names, and sent on your way. read more

I've gone here about a dozen times, and every time I go, I come away less impressed with the quality of their work. First, to call the vacuuming spotty would be quite the compliment. They don't wipe down the interior of the car at all, and they don't vacuum anything other than the floor. The work on the windows is noticeable, but I could do a better job at the gas station. They do a bit of pre-wash brushing, but not much. When I have gone there, it is almost always because I have a ton of bird crap on my car that I want cleaned off. Sometimes they get it all, but the past few times I've left and later noticed that roughly half of the bird crap is still on the car! After pre-wash, washing, and towel dry! Awful. Last, and perhaps most noticeably, the drying is anything but thorough. My car is never fully dry, or even mostly dry, when I leave. Really spotty work. In sum, for the $11 they charge for a basic vacuuming and wash, you're better off using a dust buster at home and pre-washing your car with the gas station squeegee before using the automated machine at the nearby Shell station. One star is awarded because zero stars was not an option. read more

Here, your car will come out mostly clean and dry. The employees are friendly and do a good job for the cost. It isn't perfect, but it is as good, if not better, than all of the other drive through car washes. I get my car washed here from time to time even though they really do a mediocre job, at best. I will NEVER return here again because 2 weekends ago, I brought my brother's car here to get washed on a beautiful Saturday (SLK 350) and they STOLE THE RUBBER MERCEDES MAT OUT OF THE CAR and everyone looked at each other like I was lying to them about having one in there. The passenger rubber mat was still there, but the drivers side one was gone. The mustached owner tried to pass me off to some manager who was at lunch (ummm, hello, aren't YOU the owner of this shady operation) and then gave me a cheap $5 mat as a temporary fix. I have used Embassy for 8 years because it's the only place in McLean. The car wash isn't great, it isn't terrible, it's so-so. I would have said 3 STARS. This year, however, we had two incidents which have made me decide that I'm finished with them: 1) We got a car detailed (I think it was around $150) and the next day it had a horrible sour smell inside it. After investigating we found that the carpets on the floor and trunk area were soaking wet (not damp) under the floor mats and had soured inside our car. It took us weeks of parking with the windows open and spraying Febreeze to get rid of that smell. Yuk. The manager's response: "This is not from us, this is from something you had in your car. We did not cause this smell." 2) Took a one-month-old car to get the "snow" dirt off of it. I noticed at my next stop that the finish on the car was all lightly scratched, likely from dirty wiping cloths. The manager's response: "This is not us. This is from the wind (??) or rocks. We did not do this. I dare you to take this to your insurance company and they will LAUGH at you." Get your car washed at Embassy at your own risk. If you choose to go, please do yourself a favor and don't go when they are busy because they don't do a thorough job when they're in a hurry to crank the cars through. Tl;dr - Terrible experience all around for a car wash that is half-assed and careless, all for an exorbitantly high price. Avoid at all costs The longer version: If there were a way to encapsulate the concept of sheer unprofessionalism from start to finish, Embassy would be the end result. In a rush and in need of a car wash pretty badly, I pulled into Embassy to get the deed done. Immediately as I pull up, the person taking orders begins to very pushily try to upsell me on anything that Embassy offers. When I place my order, she gave some more attitude and warned me that it wouldn't be enough. Seeing that I wouldn't budge, though, the unskilled salesperson takes down my order Now the exterior wash itself isn't any different from any other washing place, so the business really differentiates on how well the inside looks. Here, Embassy falls way way short. The windows were streaky and the inside of my windshield looked worse after the wash than it did before. The vacuum crew missed large swathes of the vehicle as there were distinct lines between what was cleaned and what wasn't. The dashboard was still dusty, and the side mirrors were splotchy and actually requires me to clean them myself later on. There's a statement on the back of the order ticket offering customers a free additional service if needed, so I tried to both call and return back to make use of this seemingly generous offer. I got attitude from the workers in both cases (the cashier and the front sales lady from before), so I figured I'd cut my losses. The lack of enthusiasm on the part of the drying crew was shocking. Once they casually sauntered around the car waving wet rags in the general direction of my car and proclaimed they were done, I had to finish the job myself, right there in front of them. I even motioned to their apparent supervisor to come over to me as I was finishing the job his crew should have done, but after seeing me motion to him, he went back to chatting with someone else. Poor customer service and poor quality clean. One time at Embassy, I went up to the cashier and gave her some change as part of my payment. She shoved a quarter back in my face, saying it was not good. The quarter was somewhat corroded but was still easy to decipher. I told her it was against the law to refuse legal US tender and she called me a liar. I dug out another quarter but I was extremely insulted. Another time I had the pleasure of meeting the owner (I think) of Embassy. I asked him a few questions about the wash process and he asked me why. I told him my uncle owns a car wash in Ohio and the owner proceeded to laugh, like me and my uncle had no clue what we were talking about. The icing on the cake is the wash itself. I like to think I could deal with crappy customer service if the product was good but that is not the case here. The wash struggles to get the dirt off the body of my car, brake dust off the wheels, and inconsistently applies the tire shine. The workers do a poor job of cleaning the interior of the car. My windows are left streaky, the mats are barely vacuumed, and very little else is wiped down. There is a gas station wash right down the road... you can get a better exterior wash for like $7 over there. I suggest doing so. read more

I should have trusted my gut when I saw all the poor ratings on Yelp. I went here because it was close and I wanted to give it a shot. But turns out, contrary to what they state on their website, this is NOT a "brushless car wash." It's the exact opposite. They basically use an old automatic car wash tunnel that has those huge clumsy rubber curtains and giant spinning brushes. The end result was that there was still dirt all over the back of my car. The cleaners who wipe the interior windows left drips on my seats, too. There were a lot of cars and I did NOT get the impression that each one was carefully cleaned. Their prices are awesome if you sign up for their e-mail coupons. It's like $12 for their Platinum Wash. They'll vacuum and wipe down your interior and for the exterior they'll wash, wax, put a protectant on your car, clean your tires, and towel dry. Pretty good deal. I mean they're not really thorough, but they do a pretty decent job for the price. I drive an old Honda so I'm not too concern on having my car spotless and shiny, but clean is good enough for me. read more

I took my car to Embassy Auto Wash today. It wasn't particularly dirty, but we are getting ready for a car trip and I wanted it to be cleaned. I went around 11:00 am and there was just one car ahead of me and no line behind. I selected the mid-price-level "Super" cleaning. When I got home, I was disappointed to see that it had barely been vacuumed - if at all - dried leaves still clearly visible on the back seat floor mats; interior surfaces were still dusty and the rear windows were still smudgy. If I hadn't been the one who took it to Embassy Auto Wash, I would never have thought by looking at it that it was a car that had just been cleaned! I called them and - to his credit - the manager was appropriately apologetic and invited me to return for a re-cleaning. But I didn't have time to make another 30-minute round trip from our house in Arlington to McLean. I don't like to leave negative reviews, but when a business fails so badly at the particular work they have charged a customer to do, they need to know it's not acceptable and take action to train their staff to do a good job. read more

I've been going to Embassy for years and have always been happy. Fast and convenient. The manager is very nice and the people work hard at what can't be a really fun job. I only get the basic level of wash (I mostly need the interior and windows cleaned because I have a dog), so I can't comment on the upgraded offerings. read more
