I went for the first time today because it's close to my apartment. I arrived at 2:00 p.m. and there was no line - though there were cars in front of mine. My car was filthy after a trip across the country and a month of rain and frequently sitting under a tree. They start by manually hosing and brushing the car down and vacuuming. They seemed to be in a hurry, although there was no one behind me. Then it goes through the hand-free washer cycle. I watched the car as it went through and by the time it hit the dryer, it still had some residue and visible tree droppings still on it. By the time I paid and went outside, they had finished manually drying the car and the droppings and marks were gone. I could still see some minor residue but no discoloration. One thing I should mention, is that they left my trunk unlatched and I didn't notice until I got home. That irritated me a bit, especially since it is potentially unsafe and who thinks of checking to see their trunk is shut after their car is washed? I got the Super Wash and the prices are higher than I am used to in California (perhaps there are fewer options out here), but overall I would go back again if I need a good quick wash. My one major complaint with this car wash is that it closes early on weeknights. It would be a race against time to get here after work. So really the only time I can use this one is on the weekends. Flagship offers a fairly intense car wash experience. You have to get out of the car and wait while your car goes through the machines, and then about 10 people buff and clean the insides of your car, including all the windows. They do a great job, but you pay for it. I think a wash here starts around $16. You can definitely get it done cheaper at that one gas station in Arlington, but it's convenient to do it here if you happen to live uptown. read more

Pretty pleased with my car wash here. For $20, they do a great job. I sprung for the full interior detail here last week (I have a yellow lab, my car was shed city) and they left my car spotless. I'm from the area and have been going to Flagship for years. The service has always been brilliant. Sure, it's pricey but the job is excellent and the prices are pretty stable -- you always know what it's going to cost you and, if you like it, it's worth it. Why give 'em 5 stars for consistently superior work? Because the other day I took my Antique Model A 1929 Ford Roadster over there to just see if the guys would chamois her off 'cause she'd gotten dusty in the garage. At first they baulked and then -- oh, then -- they brought out a hose and hosed her down, chamoised her off, Armour-Alled the tires, took pictures and gave my dog a pat on the nose. If your vehicle is relatively clean and you do not mind paying a premium, by all means use Flagship. On the other hand, if your vehicle is dirty or in need of a thorough vacuuming, you will be disappointed. The staff is also quite rude and unhelpful. Recently, I had my car at Flagship and upon leaving I noticed they did not even vacuum the inside. Smudges on all widows remained. I waited for the manager, who did not appear and having an appointment I left. When I called simply to express my displeasure, the manager hung up on me after complaining that I did not wait for him to inspect my post-wash dirty car. I know there are few alternatives (probably the reason for Flagship's mediocre efforts and anti-customer bias), but if your choose Flagship, do insist on getting what you pay for. read more

The coupons they give every time are around 10% off, and the more options you choose the more you save, although starting at $14.99 is not cheap. After all, this is DC. Nothing is cheap. read more

This place seems to have really gone down in quality since my last visit. I've been coming to this car wash for years despite living a long drive away in Takoma Park because of the excellent attention to detail they always provided to the interior. I had recently taken a road trip with my dog in the car and when they were finished there were still whole pieces of dropped kibble and lots of dog hair on the seats, between the seats, and in the door cupholders. A whole dried leaf was left in one of the console cupholders untouched. There are a lot cheaper and closer car washes I could go to if I just wanted the exterior washed. Reading some of the other more recent reviews, it seems the only people whose interiors were cleaned to their satisfaction lately were those who complained about the initial work and had it redone. read more

I left my car to be shampoo in this car wash and after 2 hours I came back and look around to make sure everything is ok I paid about 140 dollars end I notice the 2 middle seat was folding down After picking them back up I immediately realize no one has touched them I call the manager and he said I need to add 40 dollar if I want this seat to be cleaned. I insist to talk to another manager and after quick chat with him the other manager came back and told me that it was totally it was my fault because I left the seat down and he didn't know about them. Been going there for about 15 years with great service. Went there last Sunday and when I got home realized they hadn't treated the tires and the inside was still a little dirty. Drove back and talked to the manager. He took my car aside and cleaned it himself for about 30 minutes. Looked better than when we bought it. This wash isn't terrible, being located so close into the city. It's a little bit wonky having to drive 34th st to albemarle in order to turn into the far right lane of Connecticut to line up, but otherwise its convenient and a decent deal at about $25 for their top quick wash. While you can get in line l, through the wash and leave in about only 10-15 minutes, a lot of their interior work needs improvement. They very often leave window cleaner on windows to dry and only partially vacuum your floor mats. Very little dash or cupholder cleaning, hardly any interior trim wiping, and very little if any vacuuming of the seats. Their washing machine is a touch kind and does a good job cleaning the exterior, but they really need to pick up their interior game before they can truly call it the "ultimate wash". read more

They do a fairly good job cleaning my car. I found, overall, but they do a better job than their competitor over on Wisconsin Avenue. For example, at both locations you pay extra to have the mats cleaned. But this location, does a more thorough job for the extra $5 then the location on Wisconsin Avenue, also for $5 read more

This review is from a few years ago, but it still stings, particularly in this social climate. In this location, you practically have to pull into the car wash before finding out the price. I pulled into the driveway of the car wash (not into it the actual Carwash) and rolled down my window to ask about services and price before pulling all the way in. The Hispanic man who was the attendant was rushed and seemed mostly used to just directing traffic into the car wash in a fast manner, rather than knowing how to provide any other type of service or assistance. He kept loudly asking if I wanted a car wash without paying attention that I was even asking him questions. I quickly saw that he wasn't going to be of any help, so I started to back out of the entryway to leave. He then proceeds to yell "What are you doing lady? Do you not understand English?" This was extremely insulting as someone who has a college degree in Communication and makes a living as a writer. This was clearly something that he probably has had yelled at him before, and he decided he wanted to be in the position to yell the same thing at someone else. Pretty low. I would never give this place my money considering how they treat people who even inquire about spending money there. read more

Despite using Yelp for quite a while, this is my first review. This place is just terrible. I asked for a basic inside/outside clean, was asked if I wanted the alloys also cleaned (otherwise they don't clean them?), and if so to get the "Ultimate". OK, fine. It was $23/25 ish. Got the car back, the inside didn't even look vacuumed at all. Still a few crumbs on the seat from the kids, mats virtually untouched, nothing wiped, in fact the whole inside looked like it had barely been touched, if it was, clearly nobody gave the slightest care. ...and the alloys? They were cleaner, but still visibly dirty. I pointed these things out, they said they'd re-do it. Brought out some pointless little battery powered mobile vacuum, gave the alloys a bit of a wipe.. 100% Waste of time. I took the car straight to a place in Columbia Heights that gets good reviews. Got the inside done, $12 - and it's clean, like you would expect from a normal service. I'm not expecting some valet service detailing, just a normal average clean, where the car comes back noticeably cleaner. read more

Rebuttal: In response to Andrew's comment, like I said earlier, your cameras wouldn't and couldn't catch the guy who was inside my van while my van was being washed. My van was filled with soap. So, again, your argument is baseless and implausible. I was there and I watched him sitting on my driver's seat. Although, this was reported very late, it still doesn't make any difference. The outcome is the same: one of your employees stole a bag of coins from me, which your cameras aren't able to capture. You know it and your employees know it. My car's front right bumper was damaged on June 29th 2021 at the Rockville, MD location. I called and asked to speak with a manager. Sylvia, a representative came on the phone, I gave her my car's tag number and texted her pictures of the damage to my car. Sylvia told me that when she reviewed the cameras, there was not evidence of the damage before the car wash but the damaged was shown after the car wash; she went on to say that damage could have been there before and the car wash, and showed the damage after the car wash! I told Sylvia that my car was not damaged before the car wash. Flagship has refused to take responsibility for fixing my car. I will NEVER again go to a Flagship carwash. read more

I know that we, Washingtonians are too busy to wash own cars, but if you are the one who cares about the car, go to self carwash (another flahship in Bethesda) with microfiber cloths. If you really don't have time for that, try to find a "brushless" carwash. There is one in McLean or National Harbor or Dulles Airport area. Brushed carwash will give you spiderweb like scratches that will devalue your car overall. read more

I took my car here for the first time to get it washed and bought whatever the second highest level was for service. When I went over to grab my car, there was a whole bunch of white stuff all over the passenger door, rear door, and area by the trunk. I called one of the employees over to have her clean it off and she said, "oh that's up from the tree", and pointed up to the tree. I said well it wasn't here when I dropped it off, so I need it cleaned off of my car. She said, "oh I can't do that, you will half to go inside and buy another package to get that cleaned". I was horrified to say the least. I told her I was not buying anything else and that they needed to clean it since that's what I brought the car here for in the first place. My husband came over and said it needed to go through the wash again and she said they could not do that. He e asked the manager to come over and the manager agreed with my husband that it needed to be re-washed. End result, car got re-washed, tree sap from the tree that they parked it under still there and we will not be returning. read more

There is quite a change under what I now know is new management. The staff is observant of Covid requirement to keep their customers and the other staff safe. For years I have getting a regular car wash and accepted the service as reasonable for the money. Today an employee of mine had swiped my car and scraped the passenger side. She was upset and offered to pay for the damage. I asked the staff at Flagship on Conn. Ave if there was anything they could do, the manger took my Lexus SUV that is about 5 years old and made it look amazing. I am going back and getting the full service detail. I tipped the staff properly but I'm here to rave about what they can do. I suggest give yourself a gift and go for the full detail. It is worth every penny. read more

I have been here several times with my Xterra and had a great experience. Today I brought my new car by to be detailed and have a basic exterior wash. Each car is towel dried after the wash. When I got home and looked at my car there were SCRATCHES down the side and on the trunk. I called and was told that there is no way they could have done it - despite the fact that they literally touched every inch of the outside of my car with a towel. This place is horrible. I came here for the first time. I paid $26 for the "Ultimate Car Wash." My car came out and was still dirty. I spoke to a manager named Ricardo. He was extremely rude and argumentative. I spent about 20 minutes cleaning the car myself. He kept telling me I needed to pay for detailing to clean big patches of dirt off my car. It was a huge scene. When I went to talk to the cashier, an employee moved my car to the parking lot and left it running the entire time. I used to be able to count on a good, thorough car wash from this establishment. USED to!! I don't know if management has changed or standards have been lowered, but on my last 5 visits (Yes, I returned 5 times to be sure it wasn't an isolated instance) their service has left much to be desired. I've gotten in my car, after being signaled that my car was ready, and the carpet was not vacuumed. The seats had not been moved to get obvious, easy to reach debris. The dash and console were hit with a lick and promise! I'm soooo disappointed because this place used to give optimum bang for the buck. I'm done now. What a bad experience. I should have been weary after reading some of the reviews, however given it is the closest wash to me I decided to give it a go. Never again. I opted for the Ultimate car wash. On the plus, it is very quick. As you walk through to payment, your car is washed and almost ready when you get to the other end. That is where the positive experience stops. They scratched my paintwork on my driver side door - I imagine this was from using a dirty cloth with some debris in it. cleaning around your mats is extra...I had to ask them to re-vacuum the car several times. each time pointing out they had missed spots. Interior windows not cleaned - ended up taking out my own cloth and showing them how to clean a window , inside and out. Exterior - asides from scratching my paintwork, the wipe down, was a poor effort and I also did this myself. They would not touch the plastic trim - this is extra?! Didnt clean the trunk or around the door. Did not wipe down the roof. I spoke to the manager and asked him to fix the issues, he declined saying i should purchase a full detail. I pointed out all the issues to him, again he stated that I should get a full detail and that this was normal service. He argued with me and I went inside to get his bosses details. when i pointed this out he offered me a re-wash. I told him i wanted my money back as i would never let this outfit touch my car again. He refused again. Overall, this manager lacks any customer skills whatsoever and I will never use this carwash again. ever. I only purchased my car the week before and it DEFINITELY had no scratches to the paintwork before I went into the carwash.. Just in case they try and say it had... I got the Ultimate car wash, and it was very disappointing. The whole reason I took it in, other than washing the outside, was to have the seats vacuumed, but they barely touched them. The employees are really unpleasant, and when I asked if they could give it another once-over with the vacuum because there was still hair and crumbs on the seat, they said to get a detail. I've been coming to Flagship Carwash off and on for over 20 years, largely because it's convenient for me to stop here on my way home from work. In the past couple of years, it has seemed to me that the whole place has deteriorated, most particularly in the very low quality of work they do. Today, I paid $20 for a SuperWash and, when I went to get my car, I saw that the interior has been only lightly vacuumed: there was dust and dirt everywhere throughout the interior--they hadn't even lifted up a single floor mat. What did they do for 20 bucks? Hose my car down and clean a few windows? That was about it. I was so disgusted by the less-than-cursory job, and by what seemed a new unfriendliness from the staff (which I've previously liked), that I decided never to go back there again. You're throwing away your money at this joint. PS: There were 2 other customers in the lot where cars are dried complaining loudly and quite unhappily about some damage that had been to both of their cars. I guess I got off easily since the carwash at least didn't put me in the red, as it seems to do to others. Farewell, Flagship. And you, dear reader? Don't be sucker. read more

This place is a joke. I would stay away if you can. 9 times out of 10, it's just your standard city car wash, no better or worse than other quickie, automated car washes. But if something goes wrong.... I took a car here that had a 3" crack in corner of the front bumper. The car wash tore off the corner of the bumper completely. OK, stuff happens; I knew of the crack, an automated car wash can grab at things and then tear them off in that sort of situation. The problem was, I brought it to the attention of the manager. I was not aggressive or confrontational - I pointed out what happened and asked if there was anything they could do. The guy got in my face and started yelling at me! A!!hole, is all I can say. I was pretty shocked. I'll never take a car there again, purely based on the personality of the people that run this place. There's another car wash on Wisconsin about a half mile away which seems to be run better. Better yet, look for a hand washing operation, there are several within a mile or so. read more
