This should be call the "Do It Half Yourself Carwash" . For $22 bucks for the "Ultimate Wash" plus a 5 dollar tip, I really expect to walk into an interior that's not dusty and a backseat that has been vacuumed. After my car comes out of the exterior wash portion and hits that back lot 5 men descend on it for about 30 seconds to rub a soft cloth. No cleaning lotion. Nothing. Just dust particles sparkling in the sunlight from a dirty used over and over cloth. Then it's "Ready" while they rush to the next car even though there is no line. I hate to see what the lower level washes get you. After they supposedly do the interior (really-- 30 seconds and gone)--there I found myself finishing up my car, pregnant belly and all, in the back of that lot with my own towels that I had in my trunk and some leather cleaner. Fool me once shame on you, luckily....there won't be a fool me twice. I'll stick to my spot over on Georgia Ave and Missouri Ave NW - Express Wash I think Anyone that claims this is the best spot is obviously ok with overpriced mediocre service. read more

I hadn't had my car washed or vacuumed in YEARS and paid for their top of the line wash and detailing. I mean, the works, man. It cost $200 but they spent over 2 hours working on it with a team of four employees. I checked on them every now and then and they weren't messing around. They worked hard and made that car look BEAUTIFUL! The manager was super chill and kind and seemed really proud of the job his team did. As he should! It looked brand-spanking-new. I am a regular customer here and they always do a great job. However, last time they hardly vacuumed the inside of my car and so I went back inside and calmly asked if they could just please redo it. I noticed there were fewer guys working than usual (it was, after all, the day before Easter and business seemed a little slow) It turns out I was talking to the owner who apologized profusely and then vacuumed my car out himself! He said he had just sent some guys home early and as soon as he did so there was a long line of cars waiting and I understood completely. This place sucks big time. I used to go here regularly because it was the only car wash I knew about that had the coin operated wash. I don't feel safe washing my car here at all. Several times I have washed my car here around dusk and had weirdos walk up to me and ask me for money. Thank God they use tokens for the machines because I didn't have any money on me. I refuse to do the machine wash because this place obviously employs illegal immigrants as soon as I found another coin operated wash I use it from now on. read more

Went to Flagship for the first time today. My car was pretty dirty/dusty and they did a fantastic job and were super friendly. I have a rooftop bike rack and the roof was still spotless. The whole was was super quick, and they did a great job of the interior, even though they were speedy. I previously lived in Denver, where the same service cost $5-10 more. The manager was extremely rude and condescending, out right laughing in my face. My daughter was in tears in the car. My car was damaged here. Scrapes on the side of the car. He told me to use common sense and told me the the damage done to my car was done by me removing snow from it. I am pretty obsessive when it come to my car and would have never aggressively remove snow from the body of my new car. The manager while may be affective in yelling and making people feel uncomfortable he is seriously lacking in common practices of business. Incident report--he told me there was no way that it happened here. Complaint- he told me to not come back. If you like your car and self respect is important to you. Take it some where else. First time coming and thrilled with results. We had two cars washed and detailed and both came out beautifully. My car was extremely dirty from driving two boys around the last five years. They got out caramel that had dripped into backseat cup holders and bike grease stains on backseat. Dash board still has small particles from the wipe that they used to clean it. Waste of 24 dollars to get the 'ultimate wash' package. Center console not properly vacuumed. Didn't even bother wiping the doors down all the way. It's a place to go if you don't really have another option. As long as you have the patience to stand over them and point out everything that they've missed (they get done with you as quickly as possible), it does the job, sorta. read more

DC needs a better car wash. This place is crazy busy all the time (the line starts well down the block around the corner from the entrance; beware attempting to disrupt this line; people are out for blood!), so you have to wait a while to get in. I waited about 20 minutes, in my running car, this afternoon. Also, the prices on their website are WRONG. The cheapest car wash available is $16.95. They were quick, friendly, and accept credit, so those are all redeeming qualities. They did a mediocre job vacuuming/dusting the inside of my car, but I did only get the cheap package, not the deluxe one. The outside looks...clean. Not outstanding, just plain old clean. I really wish there were a cheaper option available in NWDC. I feel forced to go to Flagship because there aren't any other competitive options around (no, I don't want to spend $70 having my dinky parked-on-the-street car detailed every few months...although there seem to be plenty of options for the high end client who wants that kind of service...). I would be the first and most loyal customer if a new car wash were to open in NWDC that offered a simple wash, without even needing to clean the interior of the car, for somewhere in the $8-12 range. And preferably not in a location that requires you to circle multiple blocks to get to the end of the line (full of cranky customers). Or even someplace with a DIY washing station. Those of us DC residents without seven figure incomes who park our average cars on the streets and live in apartment buildings could really use some more affordable, viable options to keep our modest sets of wheels clean. read more

I went today to get my car washed and to my surprise they had a special going on to clean and shine your head lights for free. I was skeptical at first but I have to say that they did an outstanding job! Now my lights look newer than my car! Great job guys. read more

Apparently Flagship asked for my last review to be removed, so let me restate this: DO NOT GO HERE, THEY ARE TERRIBLE. I took my car here a couple months ago. The wash was subpar for how expensive it was, still tons of unwashed, dirty areas on the car. The workers out back then went in to clean the interior of the car, vacuuming and washing the windows. This is where it got really good. One of the workers snapped the connection to my rear windshield defroster. I was upset, but expected them to take care of it. Nope... I asked the manager and he started vehemently denying any wrongdoing. I was a little confused and asked him how he could possibly say that, I just saw them do it. He then put his face right against mine and started cursing at me telling me to leave and calling me a "liar and a cheat" and to "f**k off." Awful business. I complained to their headquarters about the manager but just received sass from them as well. NEVER GO HERE. By the way, check out the censored reviews at the bottom. It looks like Flagship "flags" most of the reviews that speak poorly of them, when they are all definitely true. read more

They didn't get the car clean. The drivers side was pretty clean but there were a half dozen spots of bird poop visible on the right side. So I saw it after I parked and went back and said something. And when I said the car wasn't clean instead of finishing the job they gave me a towel to do it myself. read more

I went to get my car washed here on the first warm, sunny spring day and Flagship delivered what I wanted: a clean car without a long wait. I have gone here for the past 10 years and it's been pretty good , well 4 star at least in comparison to anything else close by. The one near by on Wisconsin ave is awful in quality and customer service . My experience this last time, a few weeks ago - was great ! More people working and really better quality control , like under new management - only with the same guy I had seen before as a manager. Just and average Car Wash, sometimes good some times bad, seems that some of the guys that wash and hand dry the cars do not have even a basic training. One they they scratch the top of my car with the rubber floor mats, they used to place them on top of the car and then drag them off the top leaving big scratches, I had to talk with one of the guys that is always there to please stop doing that. For 21 dollar you get the ultimate car wash that I think is the best value for the price around here, I still think is a bit expensive, knowing that you have to leave tip. read more

I have only tried one other car wash and immediately went back to Flagship. They have recently set up a nice bench and umbrellas in the back area where you get your car. As far as the wash goes...my car is always clean on the outside. On occasion the inside was not as clean as I would have liked. But mostly it is. I've been using them for awhile and it just gets worse. Finally today was the final straw. My car was barely dried off, still dirt on the floor mats and carpet and to make it worse there was blue lint smeared all over my car. I told the manager that the quality of work has gone downhill and he started to try to wipe off all the blue lint telling me its new towels. Well, new towels or not, I just paid to leave with a clean car. He halfway tried to get the lint off the car and said it will dry and fall off...( my car is dry, its still on there 3 hours later). He then says I am the only one that is complaining. Really???? You say that to a paying customer??? I won't go back and could see others disappointment at how the manager handled the situation. I went to Flagship after mud got splattered on the side of my car while parked near a construction site. I think most of the other reviews capture the problems with this place. Your car will come out of the wash cleaner but not necessarily clean. There is still mud from that construction site on my car after getting the "ultimate wash." I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years, with no problems. But just noticed something odd a week ago. I had a bag of coins that I was keeping in my trunk for my son's allowance. Guess what guys and gals, the bag was there, but very empty. It was filled with 4lbs at least of coins, basically for my son's allowance, and he's 6. They stole it, very cleanly, to the point i never noticed or thought to check. I hate accusing, so I double checked in my garage, every room in my house, my car again, and sure enough, there was no other place to look. Be careful everyone with your coins and valuables!!!!! I still had bird poo on my car window; the truck haven't been vacuumed, the leather car seat hadn't been wiped at all. I really should have inspected my car before leaving the location but I've never had to do that before at other car washes. What was more so upsetting is that these issues probably wouldn't even be an issue if the workers cared at all about their workmanship. I went on a weekday at 2 pm and was the only car being serviced; yet they completely abandoned cleaning my car less than 1 min after it came out of the wash, just standing there, not trying at all for customer satisfaction. No one wants to pay for an Ultimate Wash, and still have to go home and clean the car yourself. After I paid $150 to get my car washed and detailed I got in to leave and noticed my rearview mirror was dangling. I told them about it and they said that it was loose when I brought it in so they were not responsible. It was broken and cost $100 to repair. It was not loose or broken when I brought it in there. Having read some of the negative reviews of this business on this site, I was leary about using the service, but decided to give it a try any way and am glad that I did. Perhaps the business has been listening to some of the negative comments and taking action to ensure quality service: the workers were very polite and when the car came through to the area where it is hand-dried I could see that the towels were all clean before use on each car and my car was very clean, inside and out. I got the Ultimate Wash and was very pleased with the results. I will go to them again in the future. read more

I went to move my car the other day and encountered something truly horrifying. There must have been hundreds of birds involved to do that sort of damage. Not being able to find a self-serve wash downtown, I drove up to Van Ness and sent the car through the wash. Unfortunately, there was still plenty of residue left behind. The guys with the rags barely made an improvement. I ended up having to grab a few rags myself and spend another 15 minutes cleaning it up. I know my car was well out on the tail of the dirtiness distribution, but if I take it to a car wash and shell out twenty bucks, I expect it to end up clean. read more

For the same price at Flagship I have streaks and smudges all over my car, carpets that had to be vacuumed again, and they only used a dry rag on the inside. A few months ago, my partner took our car to Flagship to have it detailed. They did a decent job. However two strange things occurred. The airbag light on the dashboard has been on since the car went to Flagship and our IPass transponder was stolen from the glove box. I spoke with the management about the transponder, but after the initial phone call, they never followed up. I don't know what's wrong with the airbag. At this point, I'm fearful that they stole it out of the car. It is possible that the detailing triggered a sensor, but it's been on for at least two months. Either way, it was not what we expected for a service that cost over $200. Needless to say, we will not be taking our car back. read more

Worst experience ever. Sunday June 29, 2014. They did not fully vacuum car. Did not wipe down interior of kid goop and crumbs. Had to ask twice for vacuuming. Paid full wash Plus tires.. Manager said his crew said I had not removed my dog from the car!!! I was holding my dog. I raised my voice over the noise. He refused to "armor all" because "I was rude". I said I'm calling BBB. Only then did he sprayed tires for $2- $3 xtra. Another car pulled up to complain-- then drove off. Been going there 25 years. Won't go back. read more
