One word "stealership". The first used Subaru they sold us had a faulty airbag issue which they refused to fix and actually got in my face and aggressed me trying to bully me into keeping the car. After I threatened to call the police they offered me ONE option, to cancel that car loan but only on the basis that I buy a different vehicle from their lot first. I was backed into a corner so I did. The second car was also a Subaru which I soon found out had a bad transmission, it's only front wheel drive because of it and they want 10,000 dollars to repair it... the car was only $12,000 to begin with! On top of all of these things, the car I bought for $12,000 is only worth $3000 only 9 months later... and that's without the broken transmission.. this place will rob you blind with a smile on their face. The service department here is a complete and utter joke. Period. Ever since ownership changed hands, service has been nothing but a nightmare. Took our car here for some minor warranty work prior to the warranty expiring. One of the gauges in the instrument cluster wasn't working properly and the ignition lock cylinder was sticking. Mimi S was our service adviser and seemed decent enough at first, but ended up being obtuse and a pain to work with. The same with the General manager John McLaughlin. He's not trustworthy at all. What we thought would be simple fixes turned out to be a nightmare of in and out of the shop, calls not returned, and eventually a long conversation and complaint filed with Subaru Corporate. The instrument cluster was FINALLY replaced, only to discover that the odometer now read 000008 and the original problem wasn't solved. Great.... MORE dealings with this place... UGH! At this point, after several visits, I was over the gauge issue. I, however, had no desire to stare at an odometer that was almost 36,000 miles off, so more phone conversations with the GM. Turns out Subaru doesn't set odometers to match the old cluster. Shocking to me, as a car that's loaded with tech can't store the odo reading the the ECM. Massive failure on Subaru's part. Mr. McLaughlin suggested that since the gauge issue hadn't been resolved, we put to old cluster back in. One problem... we'd put miles on the car with the NEW cluster, so odometer readings would be off, with over 100 miles just vanishing from the life of the car. He said, and I quote, "When you go to sell the car nobody will be the wiser." Wait... WHAT?! The General Manager is advocating odometer fraud... a felony. At this point I called Subaru Corporate, opening a case and filing a complaint against John McLaughlin and the service department. The gentleman I dealt with at Corporate was aghast when I told him what happened. An investigation was opened into the behaviour of Mr. McLaughlin, but it appears that nothing will come of it. We love the car, but once it's time to replace it (sooner than later) we will NEVER buy another Subaru again. Ever. Bottom line here? STAY AWAY FROM FLAGSTAFF NISSAN SUBARU!! read more

Rachel, the service manager at Flagstaff Subaru, is super aggressive and really unpleasant to deal with. I tried having a conversation with her and she just kept talking right over me, not letting me even finish a sentence. I asked to speak with another manager and she hung up on me. I have had mostly good experiences with everyone else in the service department but will never return because of my experience with Rachel. I have owned 2 Rogues and I love them. I want to give a huge shout out to the Nissan Dealership in Flagstaff, Az. and in particular to Jason La Civita Service Advisor. My wife and I had just left Phx. for a 2 week vacation and my airbag light came on. Being the Thursday before Memorial Day we thought for sure we would have to cancel our trip. Thankfully we called Flagstaff Nissan and spoke with Jason, he told us to bring the car in the next morning and they would look at it. Long story short we had to stay 2 extra days but Jason and his crew went out of their way to get the needed parts and install them in a very timely manor. If more of your dealerships and service depts. were run like Flagstaff Nissan it would be amazing. We bought a used Nissan Armada that has been used as a rental. We had it a week and kept getting a sound like the 4WD was being engaged. Took it the dealer and they had it for a week, stating they didn't know what was wrong. We went back and tried to trade the car, was given a very hard time, even though they had the car longer then us! No compensation or rental was offered. They received another car, so we agreed to trade. This car was a wreck! Dents, scratches and the trailer hitch cover didn't fit. We were told that the detailer was excellent and could remove the scratches and dent and they would replace the trailer hitch cover. Got the car back and dent and scratches were still there. The trailer hitch cover was replaced and it still didn't fit, they didn't seem to care. Finally took it in and demanded they check it, we were told there was a crack in the bumper! We were sold a wrecked car! Was told they wouldn't fix it but would split the cost of repair. Called numerous times to get a hold of the sales manager to no avail. Never received a call back. I am so disappointed in this dealer, will definitely never shop there again or suggest them to anyone. read more

Service or Oil change buyer be aware!! bought in for oil change & waited 3 hrs because they decided also to fix a recall unauthorized by me instead of 1 1/2 as told. I was billed tripled instead of 1/3 which they fixed. I mentioned my steering wheel fluid was low when I was paying to leave & technician came in to check after they finish it off? Not surprised he top the fluid then, my windshield fluid was down to zero and because I din't mention it stayed empty, wow this is a OIL change service when all of that is checked!They put light gray!! silicone on my hub caps & it ran into my new tires & doesn't come off. Called Rachel the manager & all the excuses was given (yep, my fault)which was rude the unawareness and severe cover up of situation which can lead to someone motor getting blown up if they "forget" to top important lubrication oils. STAY AWAY!! I'll never return after years of being faithful. read more

Terrible customer service. The ladies in the service dept are always grumpy and unfriendly the four times I have been there and once when my mom took my vehicle in. Unfortunately this is the only dealership around so I have to go to it (u til my lease is up). The guys in the service area are nice but they have forgotten to reset my oil check light when they change my oil (twice) and didn't rotate my tires like I asked them to when before I was going on a road trip across country. Had to stop along the way and pay extra to get my oil light reset and tires rotated. It is sad because I am on my third Subaru and when my lease is up I will switch back to Dodge because the Subaru service in.multiple places is so terrible. Overall Subaru used to be known for it's service. The place I leased my car from in Scottsdale made errors on my lease and I had to return a car and when I was traveling in Portland OR I lost a key and the Subaru dealership out there could not figure out how to order a new one. I bought my 2016 Subaru Forester XT back in January. I drove to Munds Park from Phoenix for the weekend and my car started sputtering and had a check engine light flashing on my dashboard. Good Afternoon, I am writing to express my disappointment in the arrogant behavior of your Subaru sales manager Marco Castillo. To make a long story short, my wife was in today and test drove a 2018 Outback. She was working with Steve Johnston, who she was excited and pleased to be working with. My wife gave the offer, Marco replied with we are light years away. My wife left and continued contact with dealers in the valley. Marco sent an email saying thank you and if she had other interest to let him know. She asked for the best deal he could offer. He replied with find your best deal and we will see if we can match it. My wife got a verbal offer from a gentleman in Peoria. She passed on to Marco who replied with they tell you anything, get it in writing. He also added being desperate to make the deal. Finally he wrote he has never seen a group of salespeople trying to help a customer. That is the root of his condescending, ignorant and down right rude behaviors. It is simply bad business. Steve had the right approach and business sense and your manager should follow in his shoes. I am disappointed in your company's approach to partnerships. And through every social media, review sites, word of mouth and any other means I find, will share this story and dissuade people from being customers. read more

I bought a used car off their lot and have had it for a few months now. I am happy with the car but pretty unhappy with the customer service I have received. When I bought the car I also got a warranty with it. One day later I returned the warranty thinking that they would just apply the amount to my credit card since that was how I thought I had paid for it. Turns out they had made this part of the loan amount so they said they would have to reverse the loan and then they would send the check to the bank. "It would be real simple." After repeatedly calling them, getting several run arounds, and 4 months later they finally said "oh we can just cut you a check today." Like it was no big deal. They have wasted so much of my time. I should have never had to make a call for this. I have dealt primarily with Sammy who I feel is pretty shady. He does not explain things well and if I was worse at math or didn't understand how loans work I would have been ripped off about $40. Which doesn't sound like a lot but it is a huge amount for me. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING and double check the math! Don't believe them when they say things like, "Oh this is simple interest so if you pay it off in 3 months you will only pay like $25." (I paid $65 in the first month) Hope you have better luck than I did. read more

SCAMMERS!!! Over a year ago I purchased a used vehicle with only 19k, minor scratches and wear, with no "upgrades". After driving off the lot heading home, I noticed my headlights were a little off and could not see very clearly, almost as if they were facing down instead of out. I took car in to service about a couple weeks after notifying I would be in (I live out of town) and they stated they fixed the lights yet that evening again I could not see any difference. When I called, they're excuse was because it was daylight out, they used their best judgement to see. At this same visit, I asked my sales rep., Rachel, for the Carfax report and she then went to Brad to ask for one and both came back stating there was no report. I asked how that's possible when I took to my mechanic and another (as second opinion) where they adjusted my headlights and also asked at that time if I was in an accident because they could see that my paint job was bonded before, in addition, they could also see that the hood was not from original manufacturer. Upset, I took the car in to get inspected and again asked for the Carfax where I received a similar response from 2 different agents stating, "the car may have been in an accident but they could have never reported it therefore, there is no Carfax". I decided at this point to just turn the vehicle in for a brand new one elsewhere as I would never make another purchase from this dealership again! To my surprise, the new dealership showed me the Carfax where it was clearly stated that the vehicle was in an accident and would only give me less than half of what I initially purchased the vehicle for. I tried to contact this dealership over and over and even wrote a letter to management but ultimately, they gave me the cold shoulder after they agreed to review and try to help the situation which was their fault from the get go, they knew they were selling me a faulty vehicle! I was informed that this happens often with dealerships reselling "damaged" vehicles and should've made sure I did not walk away until I had the Carfax report in hand but also thought I'd try a new dealership with higher ratings but unfortunately, they have not exceeded my expectations. Maybe they do better in selling their new vehicles but would highly suggest not going to them for any used vehicle whatsoever as I had done little research with them, this was not the first time it's happened! read more

These people completely scammed my daughter who is a college student in Flagstaff they spot delivered the car called and told her they had the loan she filled all the paper work out only a week later to have them try and get her to sign new loan documents and then forced her to return the car. I was compelled to write this review after a mere one hour with these guy (or this one guy) looking at a single car I had chosen. My guide (and that is a very generous thing to call him) was Bernie, and as soon as I introduced myself and shook his hand I could see his eyes glaze over with a look of utter disregard. I was dismissed without a single word more. Why? Because I looked like a college student who was in there to get his rocks off with a test drive, and not someone with at least the financial backing that is worthy of his acknowledgement. Bernie asked me to sit down to talk about the who, what, where, how much, etc. and I gave him literally the easiest playbook available: show me what I have already told you to show me. When he pressed me further for what I want ("tell me what you REALLY want"), I was pretty clear that I was giving him largely a blank slate, and my requirement was AWD/4WD, with the functionality to tackle some trails. This should be a salesman's dream; he could literally pitch me on ANY vehicle, beholden to only his artistic brush strokes for him to construct his masterpiece pitch. Instead, he rolls his eyes, says "ok.....," as if I'm insulting him, and we saunter off to test drive the car I had selected. Oh, and this is when he chose to tell me that their dealership operates on a "No Negotiation" policy, and that they won't budge a penny on price. I should have said "good day" right then and walked away. Why didn't they tell me on the phone? Oh, that's right, because he wanted to get the customer in the door (number 1 rule of sales), but then immediately lost all interest in the sale when he saw me. If I was on a blind date, I would have treated it as the equivalent of her seeing a 2/10 walk in the door. Prior to our test drive, we were chatting about the car's features and such, and Bernie was SO demeaning. He acted like I was an idiot when I asked him "is that real leather or plastic?" He said "no cars have real leather in them," in a tone that was clear he thought I was stupid to even ask. Ok, thanks for answering my question with such a defensive tantrum. By the way, I checked up on it, and my Avalon DOES have real leather, next time why don't you let someone finish their sentence Bernie? That way you could actually hear what I'm saying, and you might actually be able to filter out misinformation that comes out of your mouth hole. In fact, MANY cars have real leather, quality from bonded to full grain is a different story, but it is all REAL leather. When I asked about what kind of plastic it was, Bernie started borderline frothing. He was half spitting when he answered with a "[jesus christ boy] I don't know what [the f----] it is, IT'S LEATHERETTE! I'm not gonna know the chemical formula for it." Ok, fine, thanks. Just so you know Bernie if you're reading this, I was looking for a BRAND NAME to look it up myself, every car company gives this information readily and easily. Just because you are ignorant to the different properties of polymers doesn't mean everyone is. Also, I would have assumed someone with such vast and breadth of knowledge about cars, enough to tell me my car doesn't have leather seats without letting me finish saying model year (because he knew about all cars), would know just another fact about a mere single vehicle. This snippet is just 5 minutes of the hour long interaction we had, all of which was abrasive and uncomfortable, until the turning point: In the middle of the drive, it finally comes out that I work for a billion dollar corporation as a well positioned technical professional. Oh how his tone changed! He starts telling me to "go crazy" with it and "have fun". At this point I had already sized up the car's value, and with their "no budge" policy, made up my mind that it wasn't worth the $4k over KBB value quoted for dealers (duh). Too little too late Bernie, I think I'm done with this dealership; I'm certainly done working with you. read more

The service department is the absolute worst. I was told in January that my cv boots needed replacing so I made an appt on a Saturday for them to do it. When I got there I sat in the lobby for about 30 minutes when one of the service guys comes out and told me that they mistakenly put the parts that were for my service on another vehicle. How do you do that!?!! Fast forward 9 months... I took my car there last Saturday for an oil change and when I was checking out I was told that I needed to get the cv boots replaced. I asked why since I had just had it done. I had to ask the parts person Mimi to please look in the computer and tell me when they were initially replaced. She just kept saying that if it hasn't been over 12k miles that it would be covered under warranty. She said it was done in January. That doesn't tell me if it has been over 12k miles. I actually had to ask her what the mileage was when I brought it in for the service in January so that I could figure otitis for myself if it was under 12k. She then told me that I needed to bring it back in first thing Monday so that it would be covered. My husband and I rearrange our schedules this morning so that we could get the boots replaced. My husband didn't even make it to his office before they called and said that it was ready. The boots were not torn it was a loose gasket that was letting grease leak. We wasted our time today on something that could have been done on Saturday. We will not be taking our car back to Flagstaff Subaru. Horrible customer service and they do not think your time is important. P.S. When I called them to discuss the problem , the service manager, John, put some lady from the service department on the phone named Mimi. Mimi and John have very horrible customer service skills. They both tried to put words in my mouth and Mimi even started yelling at me. That sealed the deal. I will never take my car back to them. I, as a paying customer, should never be treated the way I was by those two. Absolutely flabbergasted by it all. read more

I purchased a 2013 Subaru Outback from Taylor McLaughlin a couple weeks ago sight unseen. The pictures looked good, but pictures usually don't tell the whole story. Taylor and I went back and forth via text and telephone and he sent over pictures of every nook and cranny that I asked for, and others that I didn't ask for that he thought I should see. And then he delivered the car to me, over 125 miles away! The car came with new all-weather floor mats and new carpeted floor mats. It was just as described and I am very pleased with my purchase. I am the type that normally has buyer's remorse the day after I come home with a new vehicle, and I have not yet experienced it with my "new to me" Outback! Thanks Tyler! read more

Absolutely terrible. I went in once, interested in a used SUV and the sales rep literally left me in the middle of a conversation and never came back. I walked out and no one even noticed. I thought I'd give them another try a couple weeks later and drove several cars and was ready to make an offer on two separate cars. The sales rep (different one) said he'd e-mail me some numbers in the morning. Never heard back. Meanwhile I'm getting e-mails from their Internet rep saying they want me to come in and drive some cars! "Why haven't you stopped in?" After three calls and several e-mails asking for the numbers I'd been promised--NOTHING! Very bad. Really bad for them because I was ready to buy. read more

We had a potentially nightmarish start to our family vacation that was going to take us through Flagstaff. Our 2010 Altima started giving us problems about 40mins outside of Flagstaff on the I-17 driving up from North Phoenix. We were able to get it to the Flag Nissan dealership where we were greeted by Vince on Saturday morning, 7/21. Vince was very pleasant and told us it would take a few hours to get our car looked at. We needed to continue our journey, so we decided to leave the car and rent a car down the street to get to our destination in Utah. We received the unfortunate call while driving through Page, AZ, that our transmission needed to be replaced as well recommending we get a service cooler kit installed. The cost was going to be $4200. We ended up giving the "ok" to continue fixing the car while we were away. But, I must say, we will never buy a Nissan again. Besides the exterior paint issues we have experienced with our Altima, how can we be on our 3rd transmission and our car is only a 2010? We were told by Vince when we dropped off the car that we were 20,000 over the warranty of the recalled transmission we had installed in 2012 (?) (can't remember specific year). Also, I believe we have a 12,000 mile or 1 year warranty for the new transmission that was just installed. But, if something happens to the transmission a few thousand miles after the warranty expires, we are going to investigate our lemon law rights. Needless to say, this huge expense was something we weren't anticipating, but a car issue is never convenient. We are grateful that Flagstaff Nissan was accommodating to let us leave our car to be fixed while we could enjoy our family vacation. But, the Nissan name leaves a bitter taste in our mouths. I don't own a Nissan and I never will. I drive Toyota exclusively. The online rep did nothing but collect my name, phone number and attempted to get my physical address and assured that a parts manager would contact me on Monday. Ever since then I have been innundated with phone calls wanting to sell me an extended warranty for a car I do not own, they always reference the 2010 Nissan Rogue that I called your establishment ONCE about. Several times each week. Clearly your bussiness practice of selling confidential information to third party solicitors is going to cost you money and reputation. I am 5th generation Flagstaff and boy oh boy do I tell everyone I know NOT TO BUY A CAR FROM YOUR ESTABLISHMENT. Every time I tell the phone solicitor to remove my name they promise to, but in two days they call me right back, same call center, same crap about an extended warranty. Everybody in Flagstaff knows to buy cars in the valley, not up here. Funny, the Toyota dealership in Phx where I bought my Tacoma never has sold my contact info to anyone! Seems that their quality and commitment to customer satisfaction extends beyond their vehicles. After two years of this horseshit, I am finally going to YELP this one to everyone who will listen. I took my 2015 outback in to get some recall work done and I added on an oil change. It was the first oil change that was not covered after purchasing my car. I asked when I made the appt how much the oil change was- $68. When I was presented with the bill it was $84, I asked why it was so high. The man said "That is just how much it is" I stated that I called ahead and was told it was $68. He said nothing. I asked the check out girl sarcastically if there was $16 worth or taxes- she said yes. I asked to talk to the manager. I explained the situation. He said it was $69, took the bill in the back and fixed it. He never said why this happened or apologized. They totally just want to get an extra $15 out of me and offered no explanation to why it happened. I will never go back there again. The work they did was fine and done in a timely manner, but I truly felt like they were just trying to take advantage of people. read more

I have a 2007 Nissan Xterra that has been serviced on a regular basis by Flagstaff Nissan. Every oil change, every recommended service, every repair has been done by them. I have always been extremely satisfied by their service department until recently. At 137,000 miles I took the truck in for an oil change and to have a shimmy in the front end checked out. They told me that there was really nothing wrong and recommended that the tires be balanced and rotated. They did the service and I went on my way. At this time, the tires were rated at a 6 and were considered acceptable. Fast forward to 140,000 miles. I took the xterra in for an oil change and mentioned that the shimmy was still there. This time I was told that my tires were dangerously worn and needed to be replaced ASAP. I was shocked! How can tires go from a 6 to a 4 in 3,000 miles? Especially tires that only have 30,000 miles on them. My service advisor, Corey, suggested that I bring the truck in and have it checked out. I took it in the next week and was told that I needed front struts and rear shocks. That what was causing the shimmy. I also found out that worn struts can cause tires to wear unevenly. Bingo! If they had diagnosed the problem at 137,000 miles, I wouldn't be needing new tires on top of the repairs. I told them that I didn't feel that I should have to replace the tires since it was their mistake that caused the uneven wear. The owner refuses to acknowledge their screwup and refuses to do anything about the tires. I really don't feel comfortable taking my vehicle to a place that can't diagnose a simple problem in a timely fashion. I take really good care of my truck and expect honest, exemplary service. I can't begin to express how disappointed I am by this experience. I will not be going back there. read more

My husband and I want to thank Corey Conrad, service advisor, in the service dept. on the speedy repair of our 2011 Murano. Its very disconcerting, when traveling, if one's car breaks down. Initially, when we brought our car in for a scheduled repair we were put off by one of the service people when we were told that we would likely be there for the better part of the day. That was not a good message when I was told upon scheduling a repair, that it may take two hours, which we were prepared for, and not wasting an entire day in the repair shop. Upon demanding to see the manager, we then met Corey, who ensured us that he would have an answer for us within the next two hours. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a rather expensive repair that would not be completed until the next day. Corey did contact our extended warranty contractor, and we were pleasantly surprised that we would only have to pay a $100 deductible, and Corey also arranged to rent us a loaner car for a discounted rate, so we could go on with our lives while our car was being repaired.
