The place itself is beautiful. Nice date night spot. Drinks are good, appetizer and salad I liked. The Person I was with liked their food. But for the price on their Mac and cheese, even with everything mixed in I don't think it was anything worth pricey taste. I didn't particularly love my meal. I just didn't like my meats flavor. I can be picky with how meat tastes but it wasn't for me. I won't let that ruin the review. This is from a bit ago so I am willing to try a different menu item and have to visit again sometime.

Finally here! I've heard so much. My first impression was 'it looks bright and clean, not necessarily cozy.' We were seated ( upon request ) in a plush corner booth in the back of the dining room. Our service, Kristine was friendly and helpful. She/they were very accommodating with our parties dietary restrictions. I ordered an encrusted Cod dish over rice. My friend had the butternut squash risotto and additionally there was grilled salmon and brussel sprouts ordered. We were all very happy with our meals. Delicious! No complaints here! The bathrooms were big and clean. My only small criticism would be that I felt that the atmosphere is not intimate or romantic. I am glad we could get tucked away in the back. Give this place a try!

We ordered take out and when we went to pick up our order, wished we would have been able to dine in. Why? Well, because the restaurant is quite beautiful and inviting. Initially, we wanted to order the filet mignon; it was not available and they offered us a substitute, which was about double the price. We decided to order churrasco steak instead. It wasn't at all what we were expecting (we've had churrasco with chimichurri sauce many times and in various restaurants) but it was tasty. One of us had the cream of cauliflower and the other had the soup of the day, which was Rhode Island clam chowder. Both soups were delicious. For dessert we ordered one cheesecake. It was acceptable.

My best friend and I met here for happy hour and I was very pleased with my visit. The happy hour menu is filled with a variety of very inexpensive choices (each item is $5.75). My friend who is a vegetarian was happy because there are a lot of different meatless options. We ended up getting the mussels without chorizo, plaintain chips and guacamole, and fried yucca bites with chimichurra sauce. For dessert we shared the ricotta bites with ice cream. Everything was delicious!! And the ricotta balls are absolutely amazing. I heard the chefs specialty was as a bakery chef so I'm not surprised. Located in downtown Southington the restaurant had plenty of parking in the back. We sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and recommended choices and explained all the items to us. I definitely will be going back again. Edit: My husband and I went back here for our anniversary dinner. They do an excellent job of maintaining health and safety for Covid regulations. The entrees are delicious!! I ordered the grilled salmon with a sage-dill remoulade and it was so flavorful. My husband ordered the churrasco steak with chimichurri sauce and he said it was cooked to perfection.

Had dinner at Flair for the first time yesterday and it was delicious! Our group ordered a few different things including the fried calamari and plantain chip appetizers the filet Mignon steak tips and the thanksgiving turkey entrees. Everything was so flavorful and so good. Our server was very friendly and attentive and the ambiance in the restaurant was great. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend!

Flair has some flair! Chef Hector serves great dishes but also comes out and greats his patrons! This was our first time at flair and it was a great experience. We love our Spanish food, let's be honest we just love food, and the food was all very good! The chef serves up some Colombian dishes but also some Italian and American dishes. We went on a Friday night at 7pm. Sat at the bar instead of waiting for the next table. We started off with yucca fries with chimichurri. These were different than expected. Usually get just fried yucca but this was almost like a yucca mash that was fried. Overall very good. I'm a sucker for chimichurri Then we both got cesaer salads which again were fabulous. Dressing delicious!! Entrees- I got the churrasco (again sucker for that chimichurri) and the meat was cooked perfectly and what a great portion! I took half home for lunch the next day. My fiancé got the Bandeja paisa special (typical Colombian dish) and loved it. The beans (I usually do not like Colombian beans) were fantastic! I even helped eat them. Plate was filling (he brought some home). Our bartenders- cannot forget the great service we got from Alex and his partner (honestly I can't spell his name and not going to try and I waited to long to finish this review to take a stab at it). I had a great espresso martini and some strong vodka drinks. The wine is on the expensive side and usually would be what I would get but considering price I went for the same priced cocktails. Overall great time (we wound up staying till almost close) and great food. We will be back chef hector!! Buen Provecho!

This was my first time here at Flair. Our server was Sarah L. She made us feel so welcome and comfortable right from the get go. We sat on the patio. On her recommendation, we had the strawberry mojitos. They were awesome. The only downfall, at no fault of the establishment itself was the exterior noise from the traffic. Not a deal breaker by any means but it was a distraction. The food was on point. Had the lamb chop lollipops, and the crab cake with seared sea scallops. Awesome flavor and value! I'll be back for sure!

Here' the 10oz Churrasco Steak with Roasted potatoes & asparagus. It was juicy & had a great flavor as it was topped with chimichurri sauce.

This is a relatively new restaurant on Main St in Southington. It's inside a municipal type stone building. We decided to go after recommendation from friends. As soon as we entered we were greeted by one of the owners. She had a full out conversation with our 6 year old while we waited to get seated. She was very sweet. The decor inside is very elegant with soft light and their is no dress code either. The food is in the $-$$ range. Very goodOur waiter was very helpful and helped us breakdown the highlights of the menu. Most of my table got the special which were Filet Mignon Beef Tips that night. My daughter got a Grilled Cheese (which looked like a gourmet grill cheese...its not just two pieces of white bread with a slice of cheese). I decided to try their 10 oz Churrasco Steak. It was very tender, had a excellent taste and it was sided with roasted golden potatoes and asparagus topped with chimichurri sauce. The servings are very good and I was able to bring home for left overs. My wife got a slice of Flourless cake for her birthday and it looked absolutely delicious. Along with our server, the owners came to check on us and chat with us. One of them being the Chef. The chef was very nice and said that he would make other none vegan dishes for someone in our party if they called the day before to request something different. He said that there menu is a suggestion not the limit of their creations. Probably one of the best experiences I've had so far at restaurant in a while. I highly recommend and I would go back myself.

It was my first time at Flairs and it was delicious. Masks were worn, paper copies of menus were used and The staff was keeping up with cleanliness. My friend and I started off with Guacamole and platano chips which were very tasty. Our waitress / staff were polite, helpful and friendly. So it was great service! Our main dishes that were ordered were vary tasty! We had nothing to bring home because it was all so good and gone right then and there.

We couldn't wait to come back. Several months later on our second visit, we arrived well before their posted closing time - 9pm. It was around 7:45pm, the lights were on, but the door was locked and the staff seemed to be cleaning up. One of them looked up, saw us standing at the door and then went back to doing whatever they were doing without bothering to engage with us. It was incredibly frustrating having driven almost an hour with the expectation of getting some delicious food, only to be ignored by staff at a time when they were supposed to be open. Many months later (giving them the benefit of the doubt that the early closure on our last visit was a fluke) we made the trip up again. We arrived to find the place was locked up and dark - again during a time when they were supposed to be open. Today I was with some friends and we stopped to have lunch at Smokin' With Chris next door. During our meal, I mentioned my past experiences with The Lab, but also said how good the food was. So, we walked over to look at the menu and possibly pick up dinner for later that evening. It was around 1:30pm, the lights were off and the door was locked. I double-checked their website, and they were supposed to be open at 11:30am. While I was on my phone, an employee came up, unlocked the door, turned on the lights and began his shift - two full hours after they were supposed to be open! WTF?! Apparently, the owners of The Lab seem to believe that their food is so epic that they can just operate their business whenever they like regardless of their posted hours. This total lack of consideration for their customers is beyond insulting. It's really too bad because the food is good, but not good enough to offset the unprofessional manner the owners are running (or in this case, not running) this place. There are way too many other great dining options available nearby that actually adhere to their posted hours to put up with this nonsense.

Messy, dripping with flavor just like I like the food haha. The atmosphere is fun and cute, cool inside with art for sale. And outside you can sit and check out other stores around.

The price for takeout for these (3) things were on the high side to not include a side salad. With that said, we were aware that those weren't included as it wasnt listed on their online ordering. We just figured the portion for both Entrees were likely larger and thats why you paid a la carte for the salad. We come back home with the takeout and to our surprise for quite a high price, the portions were small. How small, each meal fit with pasta inside a plastic container, similar to those used for Asian takeout. For any other restaurant that serves Chicken Parmigana, its always been a larger round metal dish with pasta on the side. Typically with 2 pieces of chicken. Putting portion aside as one can argue that we may have been able to find that out before ordering, the (2) entrees were not great. The Chicken Parmigana had one piece of chicken and the chicken was charred, dry, minimal amount of cheese and the both the chicken and pasta itself had a scarce amount of pasta sauce. I found myself having to scrub the side of the dish for any sauce left. The lemon bay chicken was also quite dry and unfortunately the mixture of recip (chicken, pasta and sauce) was quite tasteless. I'm not typically one to leave a 1 or 2 star reviews often, as I'd rather just not go again to the place where I had said experience but between the quality of food, price and portion, this place falls into a bit of an exception for me. Look, I've eaten at many places, if your portions are going to small for the price (and without sides), then the quality needs to EXCEED the excepted regional standard for that dish to justify that reasoning. This experience did not do that, instead we are left with half of take home container of each meal that we will have to toss in trash for Fathers Day.

It is way more spacious than their previous location and nicely decorated. We sat in a nice Modular Half Moon Restaurant Sofa in the back. Felt like I was looking down upon the rest of the guests having dinner. Nice table just felt a bit like we were on display however I still enjoyed as I love the style of these tables. Our waiter I think was new and definitely did not know wine. We asked for a bottle of the Merlot, which he pronounced back to us "Mer-LOT." I couldn't help but chuckle a bit when he left the table. Someone else came and opened the wine for us and when our main server came to check on us, he grazed the side of my glass and freaked, telling us the glasses are $500 each and if he breaks one, it comes out of his paycheck. Ummm what? This stuff we probably should not know! Again, I think he was new, probably not having much experience as a waiter. He definitely needs training on how to pronounce wine! Moving on to the cheese, they used to give you a cheese board with a few different cheeses. It's a bit different now. They give you whipped butter, a few pieces of cheese (last night was Cheddar), roasted red peppers, and whipped goat cheese with a touch of honey on top and some bread. Not sure if this changes/rotates at their new location. We chose not to do the raw bar or appetizer courses (fyi those are extra). For my salad, I chose the Signature Salad (forgot to take a picture of this course). This is where things went downhill for me. I asked for no apples. He said no problem. He did not tell us they ran out of the dried cranberries and caramelized nuts which to me make the whole salad. I used to love this salad at the old location. So, when telling us the specials he did say he "thinks" they had one salmon entree left, but had to check. Restaurants run out of things, and I get it, but take that salad off the menu if you're out of 2 ingredients and the customer asks for no apples. All that we got on our salads was lettuce, gorgonzola and fried potato skins. I feel like I had French fries on top of lettuce. It was awful. Also, I'm the only one that asked for no apples and my boyfriend got the same salad I got with only potato skins and lettuce and gorgonzola so clearly they were running out of things. We then saw other customers getting the same salad lacking main ingredients. For my entree, I got the Heavenly, which was supposed to have a lobster sauce. I couldn't put my finger on what the flavor of the sauce was. It was strange. It wasn't bad, it just didn't really go with the lobster. It had a brown tint to it. The manager came over after we ate and asked us how things were, and I told him about the salad and asked what the flavor in the sauce was. He told us a crab style sauce which made sense. Boyfriend had the filet. He said it wasn't Ruth's Chris good, but it was good. Mashed potatoes were very bland. Presentation was pretty bad. Dessert they get from a third party. I had the flourless chocolate cake which was the best part of the meal. Desserts are where they have improved with the new location. They used to give you petit fours style desserts, and now they give you full size desserts. It was delicious. I really want to like this place more because I like the concept of what they do. I guess on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays the chef creates whatever he'd like for guests for $25 a head. Mystery meals. The manager said that's where the name "Adventures in Eating" comes from. Again, we had come here previously, and I had a problem the last time with the Branzino where the waitress didn't tell me it came as the whole fish. Servers are friendly here, they just aren't top notch. Food is ok.

As I walked through the front doors, I noticed kegs alongside on the floor. This was kind of a turn off, kind of reminds me of a dive bar. So my mentality kicked in that we were going into a dive bar serving food. I kinda get the sketchy feeling. Once we were seated, and menus placed, we were served iced water A few minutes later, the server came back and took our order. My friend ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and some string french fries. I ordered the 1/2 smoked chicken, which came with two sides. I chose the rattlesnake beans and the creamy macaroni and cheese. Also include included was cornbread I originally wanted the street corn, as a side, but it was not available. Our lunches came quick, and my friend only ate half the french fries and cheeseburger, as she wasn't really turned on by them. The smoked chicken was fairly dry, with a very interesting smoked flavor to it that I can't put my finger on. I eat about 1/3 of it. Left the rest on the plate. The creamy macaroni and cheese was out of bounds top-notch. I could've eaten this all day. The rattlesnake rice and beans were just OK. The rice was cooked pretty good, and was seasoned well. The beans had a weird taste. Now thinking of this side dish, I was hoping for raw onions to be on top, but they were nowhere to be found. It'll be nice if there was chopped raw onions to go with this. The cornbread was delicious. I ate about half of it. It was a generous slice. While the server was fairly attentive, as she only checked in to fill the water glasses and ask how lunch was. She didn't ask us if we wanted a desert or coffee. Being old folks this would've been a great up for us, but it didn't happen. I had to ask for the check. I'm not sure if I would come back. I think this might be a one and done. The vibe just didn't hit it for me. Restrooms were clean. The restaurant was clean; the silverware clean. I don't know. It just was like a funky type layout and those beer kegs kinda sent the wrong tone to me as a guest. Lunch for the two of us was $40 and change and I left a $10 tip. We didn't have any cocktails or mock tails, we didn't have coffee or dessert either. From what I understand, the owner was near the exit when we left, not even a smile or a thank you for coming in...

Then came this past Thanksgiving weekend where it required traveling on I-84 from Cape Cod to get to Danbury and my mom, sister and I decided to try you out. Now, I am in the dog house because they want to know when the next time that we are going. I had the chicken club and it was absolutely delicious. A huge piece of chicken with plenty of flavor. My sister had the short rib sandwich and was raving about it once we continued our drive saying she was so glad she had it even though she had short ribs herself for dinner the previous night. I don't know if that's an indictment on her cooking or what, but she loved it. The star however was the cod dinner that mom had. It was one of the flakiest and freshest pieces of fish she had ever had. We got a very late start to our trip, so by the time 2:00 came on the Saturday afternoon came, we practically had the whole place to ourselves. The only gripe that we had ( not that we necessarily would have changed anything ) was that we noticed after we ordered that the table next to us got a specials menu and we didn't. It was nice and quiet as our waitress let us have a quiet late lunch and if we were ever in the area ever again, we would make a b-line back to the restaurant.

They took the time to listen carefully, made sure to understand all of our restrictions, and were very reassuring about how the food would be prepared. It made us feel completely comfortable and able to actually enjoy the experience without worrying. On top of that, the food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be coming back and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone with dietary restrictions. As we were leaving, the fire pit was lit up! Definitely would sit outside and enjoy the patio next time, because it looks gorgeous out there.

So I had negative feelings walking into this location in Southington on West Street Walking in, we were greeted warmly and seated immediately, at a table in front of the kitchen, where we could watch the action going on At the check-in station, the hostess immediately asked us if we had any allergies to foods, which kind of was weird. It's almost like the place was woke. So cruising the menu, I ordered the 110 Cuban sandwich$16.00. My friend ordered the cheeseburger, 17. +. Each of the sandwiches came with an order of french fries, or a choice of any other sides. I think there was maybe three or four other ones. Quickly the the lunch has arrived. I noticed that my friend's cheeseburger was well done and on the small side, just a little bit bigger than a slider. My 110 Cuban sandwich consisted of pulled pork, which was more barbecued and smoky than Cuban, and ham, which I couldn't taste, and a very overpowering cheese. I couldn't taste the pickle either. This was all served on a smaller sized what looked like Texas toast. The french fries were a very small order, and for a side it was disappointing. For the money paid for the sandwich and a side they could've upped the quantity of the french fries Both lunches were disappointing I'm gonna give this place three stars because the service was really nice. Our server was so attentive, especially with filling the water glasses, and asking if we needed anything else. So, with all this said, this place, reminds me of a cross between a Friendly's where you can view the open kitchen, and a sports bar. I'm not feeling this place to frequent after work for cocktails. There aren't enough televisions. I only saw one. The bar did look interesting though. The restaurant itself was comfortable, I liked the high tables and seating. The food is chain style and it just doesn't taste fresh. I was completely turned off with the way. My friends cheeseburger looked, all overcooked and stuff when she asked for medium rare, I don't think that was an option. I think they just cooked it full-blown well done I saw that there were some other dinner menu items priced from $25 to a little bit over $40. I would pass on these as this wouldn't be the place I would drop $100 for dinner on with a date or otherwise. I don't think I would even want this to be a business men's lunch. With so many other choices for local restaurants, I can see why a lot of these franchises are closing. This place is also on the pricy side.
