Individual pies! Home made pop tarts, oh my! Sometimes the craving for a good classic fruit pie hits, but I just can't commit to an entire regular sized pie myself. Then Flake Pie Company comes along and solves that problem! These individual pies and handhelds are the perfect desserts. My family visited last night and purchased the cookie dough, apple-with classic crust, and peach pies. I was impressed by the flakiness of the crust-it was better than my grandma's (shh-don't tell her!). Next time, I may check out the handheld pop-tart like treats. The store itself is set up like a bakery-with the treats on display for you to drool over and select. Three pies fit nicely in a cute blue box and will run ya $11.50. They can be warmed up if you'd like, too! Customer service is friendly-it definitely has the local-flair feeling to it. And it's easy enough to get to in the South Jordan Town Center complex. Hello! There's a new PIE shop in town and you need to go stat!!! They're in The South Jordan Towne Center, next to Menchies Frozen Yogurt, in the cutest little shop!!! They have fun names, for their products, like "Peanut Butter Is My Jam," for their Peanut Butter Pie, "Who Squashed The Cheese," for their Pumpkin Cheesecake and "Sweet Child O'Lime," for their Key Lime Pie, just to name a few. They also have these pop tart like pies, called "Crispies" and they're the buttery goodness that we all deserve in our lives! I promise you, you will enjoy their stuff and service!!! Please do yourself a favor and go get these hand made treats! I didn't try any of their personal-sized pies, but they all looked delicious! I ordered their savory Green is the Word pie and it was so tasty! The crust is so buttery and flaky. It is filled with veggies and cheese and is the perfect portion for one. I also got an order of their Flakies (3 for $8.50). I got the coco caramel, raspberry, and the brown sugar cinnamon. I really liked that they are freshly made and are not overly sweet. OMG YESS! Tiny pies in different flavors packaged in cute blue/teal box is simply the beginning of how good Flake Pie Co is. I tried a variety of pies along with their version of a delicious pop tart=hand pie. My absolute favorite and possibly the BEST pie was the sweet child o' mine Key lime pie. Never have I ever had such a good Key Lime pie before. I just need that one in full size please! My take on the peach was-it needed more peach, but flavor was there. The raspberry was a no go for me as it lacked well, raspberry flavor. They also have a gluten free option Pots de creme (French for pot of creme) I tried the lemon and it was excellent. Good pies and the perfect portion size! Delicious and we have been there 3 times since they opened. We also ordered all our pies for Thanksgiving through them. When I went to pick up our Thanksgiving order, they were completely sold out. Multiple people were turned away while I picked up my boxes. These personal pies are really good! They are flakey and delicious! We tried the hand pies/ pop tarts. We got the pack of 4 that were really good! We got a s'mores/ brown sugar/ berry/ cheese one. All were good! I like the crust part.Definitely flakey! We also got a 3 pack of pies (banana cream/ berry one/ apple I think) and 1 savory pie ( chicken pot pie) only one I didn't taste was the banana one because I am not a fan but was told it was delicious. The savory one I was really impressed, it's warm when you buy it so you can go get one and eat it right away. I liked the flavor of the filling. Willing to try the others. I wanted to love this place. The service was awesome, but the Sweet Like Chocolate pie that I got, not so much. It was extremely dry and crumbly. It was the consistency of eating dry brown sugar. We will be back to try more since I'm guessing that this was just a one off. read more

This place definitely lives up to it's name. The flakiness is real! Layers and layers of flake in each bite. We ordered the Peanut Butter & Jam Flakey and the Sweet Child O' Lime Pie. PB&J Flakey: Amazing. I wish there had been a tad more jam-to-Pb ratio, but seeing as we devoured the entire pastry in less than 2 minutes, clearly that wasn't a deal breaker. Sweet Child O' Lime Pie: Sweet mercy this pie is so good. The lime flavor is refreshingly exquisite, the texture is creamy and dreamy, and the crust is light and buttery. Flake Pie Co. is a pleasant change to the serial cookie shops littered throughout the valley. I'm not usually a big fan of pie, but I was elated to try something new. WELL I feel scammed by this place and by the good reviews. Almost $14.00 for two cream pies that are actually whipped cream in a pie crust. Maybe the other pies are better with filling, but we will never know. We won't come back. We got a "banana cream" pie and a "coconut cream" pie. Mine was whipped cream with coconut shreds on top and my husband's was whipped cream and vanilla wafers on top. The thinnest layer of coconut cream pie filling and the thinnest filling of banana cream on the bottoms. Complete rip off. The good reviews are deceiving about the cream pies, unless their pies were better (more pie filling) or they prefer mostly whipped cream pie. They don't offer a chocolate silk pie and I think it's a super pie popular flavor.....more so than chocolate caramel, so I was disappointed. They were also out of a lot of options. Add more filling because the small amount we did get was really good! The one star is because the service was great. read more

My hubby and I drove the half hour to get these pies and I'm glad we did, they are delicious! I've been wanting to try them for a while now and am so glad I finally tried them! I was surprised that I liked their "Flakies" (pop tart) the most! I am a huge fan of pie crust, so what's better than homemade pie crust with a delicious filling in the middle! I really liked their raspberry flakie, it wasn't too heavy or rich, it was the perfect amount of sweetness. We got their personalized pies and they were good; they might have been a little too rich for me, but that's probably because I got their chocolate pies. The peanut butter is my jam was very rich. I could take a few bites and then put it away, which is nice because it lasts longer! I also got the "where chocolate meets caramel" and it was also rich. I'm not the biggest caramel fan and there was a lot of caramel at the bottom of it, which makes sense. My husband ate the key lime pie one and he said that it was his favorite kind of key lime pie from anywhere. He likes graham cracker crusts more than pie crust (which is crazy to me) but he really likes it! I want to try more for sure! I wish they were closer! read more

Both the savory and sweet pies are exceptional here! The crust is, you guessed it, buttery and flaky, and the fillings are all spot on. Out of the sweet pies we tried, it was a toss up between the Key Lime and Banana Cream Pie. Some of the best we have had, ever! We also tried the cookie dough, but that one had nothing on our favorite two. All three hand pies we tried were delicious (raspberry, cinnamon brown sugar, s'mores) but the cinnamon brown sugar was the star, no doubt! Both of their pies - the Boom Chicka Licka and Hey Pig Spender- are delicious too, they can do savory just as well as sweet! We tried Flake Pie Co. for the first time tonight after it was recommended by a family member. We got the trio box and got the Apple of my Pie, BANANAS, and the Manic Sundae. We also decided to give the Raspberry Flakie a try. The Raspberry Flakie was very good. I would probably go back for that. However, the pies were mediocre at best and are clearly not fresh. I couldn't even eat the BANANAS as it was extremely runny and tasted of old bananas. Manic Sundae's bananas were very brown and the strawberries looked as though they were frozen at some point and also inedible. My toddler wouldn't even touch it. The Apple of my Pie was edible and just okay. Still did not taste fresh. The place itself is super cute (keep in mind that you can't eat inside, but they provide tables outside), the service is great, the pie names are adorable, and the packaging is the cutest I've ever seen. However, their pies are just eh at best... but the raspberry flake was delicious. read more

The pies were better than expected and the store had such a great variety! The staff was very nice and told me that the best way served for the pies were to warm them up before eating! I really enjoyed all the pies, especially the banana cream pie. The strawberry flakie was also pretty good, very soft and flakie hence the name. I stumbled across this place on pioneer day. It's a small little store with big flavors. They sell mini desert pies what they call flakies which look like little pop tarts and then savory hand pies. I ordered the chicken pot pie hand pie and even though it was a hot summer day that tasted amazing. I really enjoyed the filling which was a shredded chicken and lots of vegetables. And the crust is like a Filo dough. As for the desserts I ordered the raspberry, coconut cream,and peach cobbler and all of them were absolutely delicious. This is a really fun spin on dessert. I like pie. Like, a lot. Like, an unreasonable amount. If it's on the menu, I'm probably going to order it. I often go out of my way on road trips to find oases of pie. So when this place opened in our Salt Lake Valley, you betcha I made my way over fast. Have I been several times? What are the chances that a new pie place opens and I *don't* visit several times in their first few months? The menu is very simple: you pretty much have two pie options, and then a left-field pot de crème situation. The thing you will probably hear and see most about are the mini pies. That's their bread and butter. That's what those very cute and photographable boxes are all about. The 3-pack of mini pies. And you can't go wrong here, because a mini pie is much more fun than even a large pie. You get to try lots of flavors. As flavors go, I really can't tell you what to do here. You are just going to have to try them out. I can describe some of them to you, but a person's pie taste is just their own. For my money, the Peanut Butter is my Jam is really delicious but extremely dense and rich. That's the story on the Cookie Dough-Re-Mi; too rich for me, but a good chocolate chip cookie pie is really a special thing to find for those who love them. The Raspberry Fields Forever is more like a cheesecake; I'm not complaining, it was just a surprise. The sneaky great one was a berry pie--I forget the name. But there can be a lot of richness and creaminess, and the tart berry flavors that come through on a classic fruit pie make that a great choice if your 3-pack is getting rich. If circle pies aren't your thing, they're also fully on the hand pie trend and sell "Flakies". Think of this like a fancy pop tart, and of the folks that I know who go here, a full half of them are on Team Flakie over Team Mini Pie. I've not gone too far down that road, but why not throw one into your mix? The only curveball here is the pot de crème situation. If you're unfamiliar, that's sort of like a pudding and a chiffon and a crème brûlée getting together to have a baby. I suppose it makes sense if you're making custards and such for the pies, but I need to go back and try one. Pots de crème, in general, are delicious. How could it not be? I'm not going to sit here and tell you this is the most amazing pie I have ever had and that I'm never eating pie anywhere else. However, for the price and size if you are in the mood for a decent pie this is your place. Especially if you're craving variety. I got one cherry pie and it was pretty good. The crust was nice and buttery and the cherry filling could have used a little more sugar to my liking but with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top it was just right. Flake's mini pies are delicious and just the right size! I love the idea of making pies more of an individual choice and a dessert for any occasion. Flake has hit it out of the ball park. Standouts for us: 1) Coconut -- nearly perfect! All too often coconut creme pies are far too sweet, masking the delicious coconut flavor. Flake has this one just right. 2) Banana -- similar to the coconut. This is a nicely balanced set of flavors. 3) Peanut butter -- my personal favorite with an excellent mix of well balanced peanut butter, chocolate and Oreo crust flavors We also bought a few of the Flakies (gourmet pop tart). The cinnamon sugar Flakie was delicious with a strong cinnamon flavor and a hint of sugar. We loved it! The strawberry and raspberry Flakies were also good, but less unique. More like a nice Flakie shell with normal strawberry jam center. These were still delicious, but not the unique and exceptional flavors of some of the other items we had from Flake's. If I could give a 4.5 I would. Best part about these pies are the proportions, they are perfect to share or all for one person. I love how cute they look and how good they taste. I recently got the banana cream, key lime, and raspberry pie. I think this has got to be the best banana cream pie I've had in Utah. The banana doesn't taste artificial and the sweetness is just right. The key lime pie, also lives up to expectations. The sour and sweetness of the pie is perfect and doesn't get too overwhelming. The only pie, I didn't like as much was the raspberry. It just isn't my cup of tea. I felt like it was a little too sweet and reminded me of jam placed on pie crust. Holy Schnikes! Flake Pie Co. was a great experience. I went with my daughter and felt great about the experience. First of all the packaging is super cool. The pies were overall great. Grades are below: When Chocolate Met Caramel - A+ - this pie was very sweet. We had to share it as after a few bites and you couldn't handle it anymore. It has a layer of caramel on the bottom and a chocolate mousse like filling. Raspberry Fields Forever - A+ - this pie was my favorite. It is a cream cheese like filling that has been whipped with raspberry preserves. Very light and airy. Great gram cracker crust and topped with more preserves. Sweet Child O' Lime - A++ - This was the family favorite. It had a very subtle lime flavor that was not overpowering. It was very refreshing. One of the best Keylime pie is available. B-A-N-A-N-A-S - B - This pie was over all look at the prettiest. It looks very appetizing. I'm very so-so pie. Not anything I haven't had 100 times before. Life's a Peach - C - I had a high hopes for this pie. Peach pie is my favorite of all pies. It would have been better warm. They drizzle some maple syrup over the top. I'm not sure what this added. Next time I might try to warm it up. Overall a great experience. The pie tins are very flimsy so be careful where are you cut them if you plan to share. The price point seems a little high as you can go to the grocery store and get a Marie calendars pie for a little more than what they are charging.
