I am absolutely amazed by this place! on top of the food being so darn good. It feels so comfortably clean to eat there all thanks to one of the workers by the name of Alicia. She just had the most amazing attitude from the moment we got there with great customer service she knew exactly how to help us on Deciding what to eat since it was my boyfriend's and I first time being there. She made this experience very pleasant even though it was an hour before they closed she never let that get in the way of her serving her customers with a positive attitude. The food here use to always be amazing, I use to come here quite a lot! My problem stems from the fact that over the past few visits, I noticed there was more connective tissue in my chicken. I called at 5:30pm to place a pick up and was told they no longer take orders on the phone, that only walk in orders were allowed. So I came to the store to place my order and felt this unwelcoming presence as I was placing my orders. There were four gentlemen, using Spanish profanity language after the order was place. They made my food, but now I have a worry that they may have missed treated our meals. I understand I came a bit late, but do not make someone feel the boot. Please check on the staff and let them know that no matter the hour or time, that they have to treat a customer with great service and not with heavy sarcasm. I felt uncomfortable and no longer feel like recommending or going to this place due to very bad service and under cooked food. Update: That same night, me and my fiancé experienced very bad stomach pain w/ diarrhea the entire night. We had chicken in our bowls and we strongly believe the chicken was not completely cooked due to chiefs being in a rush to close up shop. It was served to me pretty fast, red flag. So many people tell me about this and a lot of people at the gym go here for food....so I had to try it. It was good....not great. The veggies were hard...like barely cooked hard carrots and they didn't put a lot of veggies in the bowl. That is why I fave them a 4 star. They put a ton of meat in the bowls ans the meat is delicious!! The beef was amazing! I had the 1/2 chicken and beef bowl....with white meat chicken. I appreciated that they offered a only white meat chicken option. If the veggies were cooked more...it would have been so much better!! Definitely try it!! Apparently The Flame Broiler has been on Hwy 111 in Indio for over 5 years, and I'd never noticed it until I drove by and saw the sign in their window that beckoned me with an organic grilled tofu bowl! This actually happened because my gym relocated to downtown Indio, and I'm seeing a different side of the city now. And that's a good thing! The Flame Broiler sits between a cigar shop and a nail salon in a little strip mall near Denny's and Food 4 Less. The server at the counter was really helpful and my food was prepared right away. Organic grilled tofu cubes sat on top of perfect brown rice with veggies and some green onions on the side. In the middle of the dining area is a condiment stand with two big containers of their proprietary Magic Sauce as well as hot sauce, chopsticks, napkins, etc. The dining hall was clean and extremely cool on this summerlike spring day. The restroom was well-kept and clean. Another little thing that enhanced my experience was lots of classic and alternative rock playing while I enjoyed my healthy post-workout meal! Today I stopped in for a Chicken Bowl with Cabbage only. The cashier was very professional in saying hello to all patrons and treating them with respect. This location is a good size and pretty clean. Also a convenient place to indulge if you are caught doing jury service. The bowl came out and it was delicious. First time ever coming to this restaurant. I came with the intentions of solely buying chicken by the serving and looking to see how much that would cost. Primary use for meal prep as having chicken on the go would be convenient. When I inquired about buying the chicken on its own, I was told that they would give me roughly 3oz of chicken in a small bowl but charge me a regular size bowl price. So that came out to 5 bucks and some change for "3oz" without weighing it out. Using scoope measure. I thought that was extremely pricy and a bit ridiculous for simply wanting chicken or hell even steak. Well however the chicken was well seasoned. Wish I would order how I would have liked. I really wanted to continue eating here but now I think I have to just give up. Again, there was so much specks of black char on my tofu (last time chicken) that I had to throw it out. I eat here b/c it is supposed to be healthy but if I were to consume all the char burnt pieces on my food, this would defeat the whole purpose. That stuff is bad for you, cancerous stuff. Can't you clean the grill or figure out how to cook the tofu or the meat without dirty gas/charcoal residue all over the food? I hope this changes so I can go back eating here.
