SUPER nervous about going here because of the most recent reviews. So glad we we went anyway! First, we had 7 o'clock dinner reservations and there was plenty of parking. Second the server was nice, honest and not pushy. My drink had to be remade because it was too sweet- but they corrected the error promptly. The bread was fresh. We ordered two rib eyes and we really could have made due with one. It was an ENORMOUS portion. For sides we had mashed potatoes and mushrooms. They were very well seasoned! Honestly it was one of the best steaks I ever had. The desserts (some made in house and some not) were good too. I'm surprised this place has so many bad reviews! We've been places they charge you $50 for a rib eye that is half the size. For a once in a blue moon treat- so worth it! read more

This is an expensive steakhouse, but you're not getting what you pay for. All in our party were disappointed with the steak. One of our member ordered french fries, which were grease logged and half raw. The service is good, but our waiter didn't know how the whether their rare was a cold red center. He told me it wasn't. It was, and not just the center. The menu prices are interesting. Normally when you order steak for two their is a slight financial incentive to choose that over a single serving. Not here, they're going tonmake a couple of extra bucks on you. They also do this with the sides. What other steakhouses give you for a side, this restaurant charges extra and calls it "for two". I gave it two stars because while the meat quality wasn't excellent it was decent, and one of our party thoroughly enjoyed his veal. read more

This is the same steakhouse that started in Briarcliff Manor, and has now re-opened in Elmsford. The one currently in Briarcliff known as Flames Bar & Grill is completely different. My wife and I came to Flames with another couple last night and were greeted warmly, and seated promptly. We had been here a few weeks earlier so we knew pretty much what to expect. Let me also say that the owner / chef is a really nice guy and comes around to the tables and seems to truly care but we will probably not be going back and here is why. First off, this is Elmsford, NY and not a high end NYC area steakhouse, yet you would not know this from the pricing of the food and wine. In fact, the wine is insanely priced. I am not so much referring to an $18 glass of house wine, but more the premium bottles. I understand that these restaurants make much more on the alcohol than the food, but $750 for a bottle of Insignia is an insane price. In fact we were so taken aback by the wine pricing that we switched to drinks, and washed some of the meal down with a basic bottle of Conundrum. Now to the food. We ordered the special 20 oz lobster tails which were slightly under-cooked but still very good, and a couple of bone in filet. Now the lobster was reasonably priced but to charge $59.99 for 6 slices of filet is just out of line. It was excellent, but there was not much of it. Sides for two were very small and uninspiring. I hate to say this but we probably will not be returning. It's just a really poor value for the money and I think the owner needs to realize this if he plans on getting more people in the seats. My buddy and I went to flames earlier this week. There are some good points and mediocre points about my experience. First the good...the steak was cooked to perfection. We ordered a medium rare plus rib eye that was delicious. The outside of the steak was charred to perfection. The inside, cooked exactly as we asked. The steak was the best part of the night. The service was spotty. It took us a while to get food menus. In the middle of the evening it was hard to flag someone down when we needed to order something. Finally when we were drinking one glass of house wine that ran out, the gave me a new wine without explaining the first one was finished. Funny when i complained the wine was not as good they apologized and said they will try to find the first bottle in the cellar which eventually they did. The eggplant rollatini had a nice sauce, reminiscent to a vodka sauce but the dish itself was nothing to write home about (dont think it was made fresh that day). The bacon appetizer was huge so thankfully we split it between the both of us...flavor however was just so-so. The creamed spinach was just ok, but the mashed potatoes were really nice. The wine list was extensive as someone else wrote. A lot of choices which is never a bad thing. The markup on wine is consistent with NYC steakhouse prices so not cheap per se. Overall it was an enjoyable experience, but for the price (NYC prices) I would want everything perfect. I would be willing to give this place another shot, as the steak was perfect and the atmosphere was nice. read more

I wanted to take my husband somewhere nice to celebrate his birthday and I've heard great things about Flames Steakhouse from friends, so we went and it was a bit busy but no wait for our table. Service was great , our server Victor went above and beyond to make it a great experience as well as the rest of the staff being very attentive . We started with the Canadian bacon and burata appetizers after asking Victor for recommendations, both were to die for, and for dinner we decided on the porterhouse for 2 which he also recommended as well was amazing! Full of flavor and as he mentioned no sauce would be needed as the steak is bursting with flavor alone. A couple of side dishes of creamed spinach and home fries and we were stuffed and even had some to take home to save room for dessert! We were presented with a tray of fresh deserts to choose from while he explained each one in detail and landed on the Zechino which is apparently a family recipe that was enough to entice us to try it. The staff came out with a candle and sang happy birthday for my husband which was sweet. Overall I love this place - everything was amazing from start to finish. Flames is a pleasant surprise in Elmsford, NY. The wait staff was lovely and the restaurant itself was beautiful. The NY Sirloin steak was divine. It was cooked to perfection and the steak sauce was put on the side. The mashed potatoes and broccoli were excellent. The chocolate cake and cheesecake were the perfect choices for dessert. I highly recommend Flames in Elmsford. read more

My wife and I had a spontaneous dinner at flames. About 10 minutes before the end of our meal I had to leave so I left my wife to pay the bill. My wife does not usually have to take care of the bill when we go out so she is not accustomed to the standard tip percentage. She left some tip and left the restaurant to her car. While at her car the waiter came to her and told her the tip was not enough. She then went into her purse and handed him an additional $20. He took the $20 then told her she should not come back. I do not know what type of establishment shakes down customer for tips which is at the discretion of the customer. My wife told me about this the next day. I called the restaurant because I was appalled after hearing what happened. The manager in his own words said they should not have to hassle customers for tip. Understand that tip is based on the service and in the event you are not satisfied with the tip you do not have a right to shake down a customer then in addition tell them they are no longer welcome. What type of business does this especially after not knowing the circumstances. Rest assured I will not be returning and will spend my money else where and I trust that others will do the same after. I wonder if we were not minorities would we have had the same experience. Flames should be called Flicker!!! Horrible! Rude! Unprofessional! and outright racism!! read more

Nikolla Vulaj is back and so is the new Flames Steakhouse in Elmsford. And it's a must go. Nikolla sold Flames in Briarcliff and took a health hiatus. Now well and roaring to go, he's totally renovated the new space on E. Main Street, but the food remains five star. The restaurant is spectacular with lots of wood paneling and a lovely bar area. We went for lunch and had delicious Chicken Franchese and Spaghetti Carbonara. But most people come for the Steaks, and we promise we'll return and enjoy a few next time. It's gotten some great initial media coverage, but go now before the words really get out and getting in will be difficult. One word of caution: Flames has a large parking lot, but it's easy to miss it. Make a right off East Main onto North French Ave just before you reach the front of the restaurant. But go because you'll be so glad you did!!!! read more

Finally a steakhouse in westchester with quality food. All the food here, especially the steak is absolutely amazing. Went with a group had the tuna and shrimp cocktail as appetizers and then the tomahawk steak for two with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes for dinner. It was delicious and I am already craving seconds. They also have a great wine list. Will be returning here soon. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. We have been wanting to try it for awhile now and finally made it there. Service, food, cleanliness was excellent. We went last Friday and enjoyed our steak immensely along with Caesar salad, shrimp cocktail, wine and drinks, as well as delicious desserts. Saw Flames reviewed on Restaurant Hunter, so we tried it for an anniversary dinner. First, the wait staff was SO nice. They all seem to be really bright Pace University students. Personable, knowledgeable--just really nice people. Second, the meal was delicious. We had the sea scallop appetizer (a special the night we went) and it was great. My husband had the surf & turf--filet mignon was cooked perfectly rare, the lobster was succulent, and the garlic mashed potatoes were scrumptous. My steak was also cooked to perfection, and the brussels sprouts with bacon were out of this world. BTW, even the bread (from Arthur Avenue, of course--I asked) was outstanding. I have been to many steakhouses in my day and I have to admit that Flames has gotten my attention. The porterhouse for two was cooked perfectly and tasted absolutely amazing. The creamed spinach was delightful as well as the lobster Mac and cheese. The waiters were attentive and very genuine. The dessert was as good as it looks. Stopped in during our travels from NH back to DE. Our complete experience from walking in the door to the last drop of coffee was excellent. We have eaten at steak houses all over the country and found this place to be at the top of them. My Bone-in filet was perfect. The cut of meat, the temperature and the presentation were as good as it gets. The vegetables and garlic mashed were cooked and seasoned just right. After looking at the menu online, we decided to come here. I don't eat steak and never enjoy going to a steakhouse, but I will definitely come back here. We were graciously greeted at the door. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. I went with my husband and three kids. There was something for everyone. My oldest started with the tuna wasabi appetizer. It was really good and it was excellent quality ahi tuna. She had a chicken dish that was huge. My youngest had pene with vodka sauce which was very good. I had the chicken martini which was really good and also a large serving. My husband and son shared a steak for two.( I thought it looked more like a steak for 3 or 5) they both really enjoyed it. Only my son got dessert. Creme brûlée- it was really good. The waiter brought out two of their signature dessert. It was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant and can wait to go back. It is pricey, but worth every penny. They also are opening a coal/brick oven pizza place next door in a few weeks. My husband and I went to Flames on a Saturday night to celebrate his birthday. We arrived earlier then our 8pm reservation and we were seated immediately. Right off the bat the waiter and other waiters around us were acting like they were in a race. We wanted nothing more then to enjoy a relaxing dinner and had the total opposite experience. We were told by our waiter, who mumbled and was actually rude, that since it was a Saturday night, we couldn't just put in our appetizers without ordering our entrees immediately. After he said that, I had to laugh because looking around at the empty tables and seeing the bar area wasn't packed, I couldn't imagine how busy they thought it was going to get. By the way, the tables behind me, never filled up! Literally another waiter came to take our order and was rushing to write our order down making it so uncomfortable and far from relaxing. My husband had the T-bone steak and I had the filet mignon...honestly we've had better and in a much more relaxed, prettier establishments. After dinner, the owner came over and seemed bothered by our two empty wine glasses left on our table, taking them away since he felt we wouldn't be asked about desserts, if those glasses were there! He even moved my husband's phone to the other side of the table! Seriously!! He doesn't even ask us how our dinner was? He clearly sets the tone with his staff & definitely comes across as a controlling person! Sorry, but we will not returning to this Flames again. Will not be recommending it either. Not bad..I found the staff to be inattentive..I was a solo patron. However, the chef, who was walking around greeting the guests noticed and assisted..he was a complete gentleman, in fact he saved the day. He greeted me, customized my meal and ensured that I was taken care of the whole night. Steak was good, did not realize that it was presliced. I prefer to slice myself. Ribeye was good, broccoli was cooked to perfection. I was only given 2 choices of Cabernet by the glass.$16 and $18..which I thought was a little steep. I chose the higher, wasn't bad but not $18 in elmsford. They had numerous bottled options which were of vintage quality. Being that they have only been open for a couple weeks, it takes time to get the kinks out..all and all as a recommendation, it always good to have someone who has stake in the game, as he will always ensure that no one leaves with a bad taste in their mouth. read more

went to flames in Elmsford for a birthday dinner.... food was good steaks we felt should be better for a steakhouse. service was very slow we had to ask many times for things, you would think a table of 9 the service would be much faster, the portions were very small , we assumed it was because it was restaurant week @ 33 dollars per person on a prifixed menu. overall the food was acceptable but should have been much better based on the expectations of a well known steakhouse. we all had a great time lots of laughs , decor was nice and cozy but tables were to close together, we all felt squeezed in. now for dessert which wasn't the best either, for example the chocolate cake was so thin sliced someone on a diet would have asked for a bigger piece. we all ordered our desserts but the coffees and cappuccino's came after we all were done... that's crazy!!!! now I want to point out at this point we thought it's not terrible and like I said earlier it was somewhat acceptable, until we got the bill that's when everything changed after reviewing the bill we noticed that we were over-charged 4 for drinks that we never even ordered I can understand Maybe one drink being overcharged which in my opinion is unacceptable but for 4 drinks it was not acceptable at all we did get those drinks taken off but we felt we were being taken advantage of and I'm assuming they were hoping we wouldn't realize it. the big question is how do you overcharge for 4 drinks so with that said we will not be returning to this restaurant that we do not trust when there's many wonderful restaurants within Westchester County that we frequent every weekend that we will not have to worry about getting ripped off so customer beware, check your bill carefully. read more
