Met up with a friend here on a Wednesday evening and the experience was smooth from start to finish. We had a 7:00pm reservation and were seated promptly. It wasn't overly crowded at first, though the room filled up quickly. Parking is effortless with the large shared lot by the Westchester Marriott. The space feels open yet thoughtfully divided, so you're not dining in one massive room. Service was attentive throughout, from keeping waters filled to checking in at the right moments. We all opted for the Ruth's Classic. My Caesar salad was generously portioned, followed by the 6 oz filet and lobster with creamed spinach. The steak, ordered medium rare, came out very close to perfect with a proper warm center. The value of the promotion is strong for what you get. Ruth's Chris was once my favorite steakhouse. I have dined here at least a dozen times over the years and always looked forward to the experience. Unfortunately, our most recent visit completely changed my opinion and we will not be returning. From the moment we arrived, the tone was off. The hostesses were noticeably rude and dismissive, which is not what I expect from a restaurant at this price point. We were seated near a high traffic door, and throughout the meal servers repeatedly brushed and bumped into me easily twenty times while I was trying to eat. It made what should have been a relaxing birthday dinner feel chaotic and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, we were placed in a side room next to a party of twelve who were extremely loud and constantly cursing. The noise level was disruptive and inappropriate for what is supposed to be an upscale dining environment. Went here on Sunday after church. Although I don't care for steak I actually order steak and lobster tail from the pre-fix menu and it was delicious!!!! The steak was tender even though it was well done and the lobster tail was well seasoned and delicious. I also had the Caesar salad, au gratin potatoes, and crème brûlée as part of the pre-fix menu for $69.00. However, they added an up charge of $5 to substitute the garlic potatoes for the au gratin potatoes, and a $4 up charge to substitute the cheesecake for the crème brûlée but I didn't care because I wanted what I wanted. If I go back I would not order the au gratin potatoes because I didn't care for the taste of them. They tasted like they were cooked in sour cream or something which didn't set well with my palate. My wife and I had dinner last night and everything was very good. Our server, Selena,was great and extremely helpful in showing us the best options regarding all the specials available that evening. We had the crab cake appetizer which was filled with crab meat with little filling, delicious. We would've waited a few more minutes until the bartender was ready. Needless to say, it was not good; the old fashioned was in the wrong glass saturated with ice you'd put in a Diet Coke. The Manhattan was served the same way in ice instead of up. $17 each!!!! Lastly, I asked for my filet medium, it came out extremely rare and I barely ate any. A friend and I went to celebrate some business deals. We started off with a Caesar salad salad, and the Aji tuna. Both were very good. We ordered the porterhouse for two and the New York strip. Both medium rare. They were basically served black and blue. Well done about an eighth of the way through and basically very rare to raw in the middle. It wasn't awful, but certainly not medium rare. For side dishes, we had the lobster mac & cheese, and the creamed spinach. The lobster was so dry we couldn't eat it. They ended up taking it off the bill. The creamed spinach was very good!. My husband and I have been patronizing this restaurant since we met five years ago. We fell in love with the food, ambiance, and service. We loved the restaurant so much, that my husband decided to propose to me at this restaurant in November 2022. So, this is a restaurant that we hold near and dear to our hearts. However, after my experience yesterday, we will never step foot in there again. I made reservations for 8:15pm. We arrived on time and were promptly seated. Our waiter was a middle-aged, White male. I immediately recognized him as our waiter from the last time we were here. He greeted us and gave us a quick rundown of the menu. He was personable and professional. This is the only good thing that I can say about the service. We were seated in the middle section that is somewhat enclosed. There was a total of six occupied tables in this area. I understand that he was the only waiter for the area, but after we received water and bread, we were ignored. I witnessed his attentiveness to ALL of the tables around us. He literally took a drink order and returned with their drink. Closed out two bills, checked on another couple...all while we waited. He eventually came and took our drink orders. We waited as he continued to service other customers' requests. After 25mins of waiting, my husband and I decided to leave. I go out to eat at least once a week. Absolutely delicious meal!! I decided to have dinner here since I was staying at the Marriott attached to the restaurant. I've never been to a Ruth's Chris before so I was very curious to try it. I was sat in the bar area, which I would've preferred to sit in the dining room section, but that's on me because I was given the option and said a booth in the bar was fine. Wow! What a wonderful dinner! We went after a show at Lyndhurst Mansion. We were 30 minutes early for our reservation but, we were seated right away. We all had some version of a steak and all of them were delicious. We also added sides of creamed spinach, garlic mashed potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts. While I thought the sprouts were a bit overdone, they were still very good. Our server was attentive and stopped 2-3 times to ask how we were and to replenish drinks. Finally came here on a whim after moving nearby over a year ago. Almost went a few times but the fact that it's located in a seedy looking Marriott in a White Plains abandoned '80s office plaza just gave me the ick. Unnecessarily intimidating red doors mark the spot (it has a separate entrance from the hotel) and are so heavy you can barely open them. Why? I see that there are also no windows. Weird. More ick. Open the doors and whatttt???! We are transported into a modern swanky restaurant with NYC vibes. Whattt??! Wizard of Oz feels. The hostess is trendily dressed and looks bored. The lighting is dark. Button down shirts, designer purses, and martinis abound. How did I miss this place? This shall be my new home. The magic of Oz wears off. We sit at the bar and order a wine and beer, which come quickly enough. The wine is expensive at $22. After that, it takes a bit for someone to come back for our order. The bar is small so this is mildly annoying. When we finally order, it's almost another hour until we get our food. We didn't order much and it's a Monday night so what is this??? There's no place like home on a Monday night when you have work tomorrow. See prior Wizard of Oz reference. But seriously? What is happening? Almost walk-out contemplating McDonald's drive-thru. The Food: Because we had come on a whim and weren't super hungry and sitting at the bar, we opted to just split an appetizer and the burger as a trial run before throwing down $70 for a steak. The burger was well-priced for a steakhouse at $19 and comes with fries, creamed spinach, or a salad. We went with the salad, which wound up being simply-dressed mesclun greens, but that was fine for this particular evening. The bbq shrimp was pretty expensive for the price (5 shrimp for $22). My bigger issue than the price was that the food fell short. When you go to a place like Ruth's Chris, you expect perfection and that is frankly part of the sell. The shrimp was overcooked and rubbery with little favor. Applebee's would have done better. The burger was cooked properly enough (ordered rare but came medium rare, fine) and well-seasoned but on the small side (fine) but not juicy at all and even worse cold (not fine). The cheese was completely congealed, so I would think the issue was that the food was sitting waiting to be picked up for a while. Again, this is pretty unacceptable at an establishment such as this. I will say, to be fair, even cold, the burger still wasn't bad. The vibe: For a Monday especially, I was shocked at how crowded this place was. There were a few larger groups celebrating special events but the rest of the patrons were mostly male parties of two or solos. I assume that most of these people were on business and also had a healthy per diem based on their clothing and orders ("I'll take the porterhouse for two just for me," "throw on a lobster tail, why not," "another wine please"..... lol and good for them!). Tip: they have a Happy Hour from 4-6 Monday to Friday with some drinks and apps being a few dollars off. Nothing to write home about. The bar also had a filet and cab deal which gets you a six ounce filet and a glass of cab for $44 and is a pretty good deal. In sum, I really liked the ambiance here and it was a good close-to-home compromise for my husband and I having both a cozy swanky bar and two TVs playing the games. But not sure if I trust them with the better part of my hundred dollar bill for a steak based on what I have experienced so far. Still, I'll definitely be back and reassess - albeit partially for lack of other local options. .... A lukewarm review to match a lukewarm meal. 4 for ambiance, 2 for food. read more

Staying at the hotel on a business trip, decided to eat here for dinner. PSA... make a reservation, thankfully we had one. People we were with didn't and they waited over an hour. We noticed some tables didn't have people seated so I assume that they are short staffed. Two people ordered rib eyes, sold out ...seriously?? It's this a steak restaurant? Apparently they are supposed to bring your steak to see it first and they don't do that here. I ordered petite fillets with shrimp and the others had to get NY strips since that's what they had. We ordered asparagus, mushrooms, mashed and we talked about Brussel sprouts but never ordered them yet they showed up too. All the apps were very good. During the waiting for dinner we received a basket of warm bread and the waiter never came back to ask if we wanted more drinks. We had to find and ask him. After over an hour of waiting dinner finally arrived. The apps are much smaller that they used to be and all of our food seems to be cooked as we each wanted it. My fillets with truffle crust was delicious and I had plenty for another meal. Again, The waiter seemed too busy to stop over and ask if we wanted anything else. He did come back eventually. I know their short staffed and over worked; then serve less people. We're on a business trip and to only ask twice for drinks , he could have had a much bigger tip. I have been to this location many times over the years, and the experience has been consistently good. I brought my youngest sons there for the first time and I was very pleased that, with one ex option noted below, they were very impressed. The staff were great, especially our server, Matthew. The crab cakes a barbecued shrimp were excellent, and the steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The sides well prepared, and the sweet potato casserole is just incredibly good! The ambiance was classic steakhouse, subdued and quiet. The experience was everything I wanted my boys to enjoy. Until a family came in with three young and loud kids. The staff was nice and attentive. The restaurant was almost empty. The vibe of the dinning room is very outdated and dark but it was clean. They need to lighten up the heavy feeling of the room it feels tired and needs to have a more contemporary vibe . The seared Ahi was ok nothing special and a tiny portion nothing like the image on the website the wedge salad was big but mostly iceberg and as always you need to ask for more dressing as the amount served is not nearly enough . That's always been that way but once chop it up and toss it's at least decent. The porterhouse was very good which saved the day. I have a place in Saint Pete and have tried the Ruth's Chris location, their steaks are just not good along with other issues I have stopped going. We all know $300 for dinner is almost the norm at this price point but they need to deliver at a level that justifies the $. I stooped going to Mortons years ago but Ruth's had been good enough to visit occasionally, not feeling that way anymore. read more

I'm giving this restaurant a 5 star rating because the steak was that good. It carried the whole experience. The service was a little trippy at first because we were earlier than our scheduled reservation, and they didn't allow us access to the room. (It was a private party.) We went back a few minutes later, and everything seemed to have been sorted out, so we were able to enter. The decor is very upscale and classy with a lot of wooden features in the ceilings and all around. The artwork on the wall in the private dining area was phenomenal. Let's get to the food. It was a large group, so we had prix fixe options. I chose the 16 OZ NY Strip Steak, and it came with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Before all that, we were served the house salad and it was ok, but the cheesy croutons were a nice touch. We were also served warm bread and butter and, of course, beverages. The mashed potatoes were good. The creamed spinach was excellent, but the steak was juicy, tender, well seasoned, and so buttery and delicious. It was one of the most flavorful steaks I've ever tasted. I had it medium well, and it was perfection. We finished off with dessert. The cheesecake was pretty good. I'm sure it wasn't baked though. The best steak anywhere hands down. Started the night with an old-fashioned. Nice and boozy. There are a ton of choices for different steaks but we went with the 11 oz filet with a lobster tail. We were pretty hungry so we upgraded from the 6 oz to the 11 oz. We were stuffed after the lobster bisque and dinner with nice potatoes and the creamy spinach is the best. The meat is lightly seasoned and it's absolutely perfect. The plates are super hot and you can hear your sizzling steak coming from the kitchen. If you have a piece of meat that is a little too rare for you, then just slice and leave on you dish for a few seconds The lobster tail was perfectly cooked. My wife took me there for my birthday. We ordered the fried calamari for an appetizer and it was very good. Both my wife and myself decided to do the classic with the ribeye up charge. The waiter returned to notify us that they don't do that anymore. I told him I was here just a month ago for my brother's birthday and did it.
