Oh Chuck, your wings at one point were little fried wonders of deep fried perfection drenched in an elixir known as Buffalo Sauce. The wings weren't too small, nor were they too big. The Sauce was neither too not, nor was it too mild. The Ambience was dreary, but who really cared when they served up wing after delicious wing. I was a young lad back in the late 80s and had the metabolism to enjoy these wings whenever the budget would allow for it. And enjoy them I did. So with Great Fanfare, I returned, like a devotee going back to the Religious Land. I brought my teenage son, who is already an avid fan of Buffalo Wings. I had returned to Chucks. So some things change and some things don't. Chucks literally looks the same inside as it did in 1986. No parachute pants on this man anymore, but the same interior greeted me. The prices have gone up a lot. Over $1/wing is no bargain, but I plunked down my $15 for 14 wings and we quickly decamped nearby and started to dig in. What had changed were...the wings, or at least my memory of them has changed. The wings were fried reasonably well (but could have been a little crispier). However the real let down in these wings was the sauce. It had a puddle of oil on it, but it lacked that salty, vinegary, spicy flavor that makes your mouth pucker just daydreaming about it. The sauce was not very flavorable and didn't have great mouthfeel. We ate about half the wings and threw the rest away. Never to Chucks will I return.

Oh my god, the food is so good and the guys are so friendly and I LOVE that there are multiple choices for us non-meat eaters. My husband even noticed that, for me, as he wanted me to have a decent choice. I do eat fish and there were good choices for that - I had the blackened salmon burger which was delicious and had a great little kick to it. We also had jalepeno poppers and onion rings and they were both the best I have ever had! He ordered the Italian Stallion which he really liked - that's all I could get out of him - but that's a rave review in his book! I also love that they carry the next door merchant's popcorn (Dr. Auntie) and if that isn't an awesome way to support each other, well, I don't know what is! All quality ingredients, and tasty, yet very "sloppy" due to all the wetness of the slaw and Russian included in the sandwich. It was a slip-slid with every bite. Still, I appreciated the white sandwich wrapping paper that held it all together until I arrived home and was able to control its unwrapping and consumption. That's just them being slightly off with their sales estimates for the day and presumably the fact that they nearly sell out every day helps to keep prices reasonable (less food thrown away). This Subway is very accommodating and tasty too. Not too long ago we were having a party of about 25 people, and needed lots of food! We forgot to order catering so after calling local pizzerias, all of which needed 24 hours notice fro 6 foot subs, we decided to call subway. An hour before the party we ordered two party platters with roast beef and ham subs. They were ready in about 30 minutes, had many condiments, napkins, and they even threw in two containers of cookies for free! I must say I was more than pleased, and it was cheap too!
