Food truck review: food was delicious and portions were a generous size. Ordered the Flamin Fries, 4 sliders combo and flamin elote. The sliders were not small at all! I actually got full with one. The flamin elote was definitely unique but I prefer the flamin fries. They do charge for extra sauce, I wish we got at least 1 extra sauce with our combo order. 10/10 read more

This is by far the freshest tasting hot chicken sandwich I've had! In comparison to bitter chains like Dave's - this truck definitely has a better crisp and freshness. The fries are also super good and cooked to perfection! My only feedback is there isn't a cheese option, so if I had the option to throw cheese on it would be perfect! The flamin heat level is perfect for those who like an extra level of spice but not unbearable! Definitely will go back! read more

I waited more than one hour for a regular plain sandwich, and it was still spicy. I assume a one hour wait is quite long especially when it's lined up at a university, but I at least expected to have my order done correctly. I tried to use leftover sauce to mask the spice, but that stuff hurt. read more

They've got the bessssssst Nashville hot chicken I've ever tried...What makes them different is the tender juicy chicken. Other places chicken is hard and bland, but I've had FLAMIN a lot and It's never dry, it's never wrong & if you need anything the owner Mike is so friendly, professional , & a really cool guy. All I can say is delicious! I ordered the Flamin' Fries (without the pickles and coleslaw), and it was perfect. The chicken was perfectly cooked, seasoned and as juicy as it gets. Got the 4 sliders (Flamin & Death Row), 5 tenders (Flamin), Flamin Fries (Death Row), Corn elote & 2 Dr Peppers. The sandwiches & tenders were tasty, the breading on the chicken is thin and crispy. The flavor of the Flamin is a medium spicy but if you're a spicy lover, I'd suggest the Death Row. It's got great flavor and a good kick. The French fries alone are pretty bland and boring but the Flamin fries were tasty. The Elote Corn was delicious. This is a to go, pop up location? There aren't any tables to sit. I suggest leaving the bags open and holding them while driving home so they don't get soggy. Prices are fair and the guy was patient and helpful. read more

The truck was recently in my area so I figured I'd give it a try. For the truck, you do not order on their website. I walked up and found a touchscreen to use to order. While I appreciate the "non-contact" I wish there was some sanitizer left out because the touch screen didn't seem properly cleaned or maintained-- probably because there was only one person working on the truck. Just something consider during these COVID times. Combo #1 - The chicken was just okay. Even after ~7 minutes in the to-go box it had lost some of it's crunch already. It was borderline dry and desperately needed the cole slaw. Seasoning-wise it was average. The "Mild" spice level wasn't too spicy, and I'm usually pretty sensitive to spicy foods. As a chicken sandwich, it was lacking in a lot of ways, especially compared to other spots in the area not named Howlin' Rays. The elote was basic and nothing special-- literally canned corn topped with mayo, what looked like paprika, and processed parmesan. At least when you get elote on the street there's a smoky char that makes a huge difference. Combo #3 - More of the same, except the chicken was chopped up. At least with the fries and slaw there was some kind of texture. The sauce on top was the saving grace, to be honest. In all, it was average at best and a bit overpriced. read more

Food was decent and cashier was friendly (that's why it got two stars).... until I found a piece of hair in the slider (gross) Will not revisit.. We tried this place via their food truck outside our hotel while visiting LA and it was open late at night as well. While it first felt a bit pricey just for sliders, the portions were quite large and the sliders were more like actual chicken sandwiches. Each order could easily serve two people at least. The hot chicken sliders were spicy and packed with the flavor of the flaming sauce. We enjoyed the sides as well. So glad we ran into the food truck and hopefully next time I'm in the area, I can try out the place too! read more

Their ordering system sucks! You place your order on a screen and have the option to pay via card or with the cashier, but the cashier has no clue what order belongs to which customer. I know because the my order, after receiving a text message, was handed off to someone else. This is as far as I got with their Devil's Rejects Challenge sliders that I ordered through door dash. Seriously, if you're not a pepper head- this is not for you. I called the store to ask what they used in their hottest sauce and sure enough, the answer was Carolina Reapers. Before I finished my first bite I had hiccups. Had a few more bites and it was hands down the hottest thing I've ever had. Mouth has been on fire for 20+ minutes and my body is still trembling. If you want the FIRE, this is it. Their fries were garbage, but the person I spoke to over the phone was super nice and they delivered more heat than I was expecting. 5 stars. Keep it up FHC. read more

I ordered the single sandwich combo on Postmates the other night. I was really excited because it was exactly what I was craving: a chicken sandwich and esquite! But I was disappointed when it arrived. The esquite wasn't very flavorful, so I added tajin. I could tell the corn came from a can cause I had an aluminum aftertaste. I figured since they focused on two main items they would be an expert at it. I was so disappointed that they didn't use real corn for their side dish. This place just opened up 3 weeks ago inside of the pre-existing Pizzaholic restaurant. We ordered the #2 combo--2 chicken tenders on toast with cole slaw and pickles and a side of esquites. We went for "mild" which still had a nice kick to it. Drinks are $1 (yay!) and service was fantastic. Really friendly people working there that made sure we had everything we needed. The sauce was good. The items were a bit over priced in my opinion and food was hella salty. Also the combos didn't come with a drink, for 15.99 that's kind of ridiculous. There is no parking so we had to park on the side of the road with cars whizzing by and it's basically a food stand outside of the building with no where to sit. read more

The chicken here amazing. I'm completely serious-they could probably start a cult centered around the chicken from this truck is and and they'd have me: hook, line, and sinker. Every time I have a chicken sandwich from this truck it takes so much self-restraint not to go back for a second or even a third-I've seen other people walk away with 3 at a time!! I seriously have to commend the cooks because every item on their menu is great-even their coleslaw! Let me tell you-no chicken spot is that great unless it has some amazing coleslaw-you NEED to try it. I could tell walking up that this location is still being renovated so not very easy on the eyes. Friendly staff made me feel better about the aesthetics. I got the 2 chicken slider combo with corn. The sliders were so good I contemplated turning around for another order since the locations is not close to me. The chicken is juicy and packed with flavor. highly recommend this spot!! read more

My son found this place on yelp so we decided to stop by and check it out and im glad we did. Gerry was working and was very kind to my 9 yr old. Nobody was around and he gladly walked us through the menu. My son loves spicy food and he helped picked the perfect amount of spice for his food, i cant handle spicy food unfortunately so it was entirely for my son. We ordered the tenders plate topped with the spicy thousand island with elote on the side and was very happy with our purchase, thank you and hopefully my son will come back with some of his baseball buddies after the game to enjoy some good food and service. read more

Maybe a Iil bit pricey for the portion they serve in my opinion . The corn is good but if you're Mexican you know your corn. This one is sweet and good ! The chicken sandwich taste a lil bit like KFC chicken Lil. My French fires were a bit cold but that could of been my fault they have good flavor tho... Damn...so I'm in Van Nuys never, finished filming with a client and used Yelp to find something and lo and behold a 5 star chicken sandwich place popped up. Yeah only 43 reviews but I love spicy and I like chick-Fil-a and raising canes so i said sure why not... What I didn't expect was there not being an actual location and since I don't live around here they do have a drop off spot in a Big Lots parking lot. Say what??? Lol ok...anyways after sitting for about 10 minutes watching playoff basketball on my phone sure enough comes a car and a delivery. Felt like an old school 90's drug deal lol. Long story short...it was freaking awesome. Got the next to highest level of spicy which was perfect for me, the corn was bomb, and the Balance and texture of everything was sooooo perfect. I don't think I'll ever be back here again since I live in OC but I'll always remember the chicken deal in the parking lot :-) Epic stuff...thx guys!!! read more

But we stood at the front for a few minutes before anyone greeted us, and when we finally were "greeted", a man just came up to us and looked at us with confusion and didn't say anything, just raised his eyebrows. I said, "Hi! We have 5 adults. May we sit outside please?" He said sure and guided us outside to our table with not much said. We waited quite a while before a server came over to us, and it ended up being the same guy that brought us to the table originally. He came over to us and said, "Drinks?" It was sort of awkward how unwelcome we felt. That was pretty much our entire experience with the server: very slow service, and very few words. Once we put our food order in, we grabbed the Uno deck at a neighboring table to play until the food came out. That was actually really fun! But we waited for the food for so long - playing multiple games of Uno with 5 people and still not having our food. It was painful - especially since it seemed there was not much going on around us. Our hope was the food would be a saving grace here to our first time experience at this restaurant, but unfortunately it was not. My father-in-law liked his salmon dish, and my husband said the steak melt was decent, rating it at a 6.5-7/10. My mother-in-law said she liked her French dip, but barely touched it. My sister-in-law's short ribs had way too much sauce on it and too much salt, so she could not finish hers either because of that. My truffle burger was overwhelmed by blue cheese to the point where you could not taste anything else, so I also could not finish mine because of that. In the end, we all spoke about it and the highlight for our family was that they had Uno available for tables to play. But unfortunately we all agreed we would never be back.

Felt the bread to everything else ratio was really off, so it feels like mostly bread with some lobster here and there. The chimichuri steak sandwich comes with arugula, gruyere, roasted peppers and grilled shallots and was a decent bite but not overly memorable. The French dip, on the other hand, was really tasty with that au jus and melted cheese. That was the real winner. Overall, nice ambiance, drinks were decent, some misses and some hits. If you go, definitely get the French dip and the tuna of sticky rice, slip that liner roll and the mini crab cakes and up to you on the chimichuri steak sandwich.

Unfortunately, over time, our experience became increasingly disappointing, particularly when it came to the size and consistency of the ribs. The first couple of times we ordered, the ribs looked like a standard, reasonable portion. But on our later visits, we noticed that the ribs appeared noticeably smaller. It wasn't just a one-time observation; after seeing the difference several times, we decided to call and ask about it. We weren't looking for anything unreasonable, we simply wanted an explanation and some consistency in what we were paying for. We were told, "Sorry, we'll have our manager get back to you." We appreciated that someone would supposedly follow up, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. It has now been a couple of months, and we have never received a call, email, or any kind of follow-up. That part is honestly just as disappointing as the portion issue. Bludso's prices are high, and when you're paying premium prices for BBQ, you expect the quality and portions to be consistent. We understand that food costs, labor, and operating a restaurant are expensive, we're not expecting bargain prices. But when a restaurant charges what Bludso's charges, customers have every right to expect that the portions will be consistent and that legitimate concerns will be taken seriously. In a time when the cost of everything continues to rise and people have to think carefully about where they spend their money, spending more at a restaurant should come with the expectation of getting a quality experience. If we're willing to pay higher prices, we expect the food and customer service to reflect that. What really sealed the deal for us was that we actually tried to address the issue directly. We didn't immediately leave a negative review or complain online. We called the restaurant, explained our concern, and gave them an opportunity to respond. Unfortunately, the fact that nobody ever bothered to follow up after promising that a manager would contact us left us feeling like our business and feedback simply weren't important. We enjoyed Bludso's when we first discovered it, which makes this even more disappointing. But there are plenty of BBQ options out there, and at these prices, we don't feel there's a reason to continue spending our money somewhere that doesn't provide consistency or follow through with its customers. We tried. We gave them multiple chances. We reached out and gave them an opportunity to make it right. Unfortunately, we've moved on. No more Bludso's for us.

For food, I ordered the Smash Burger, which is served with melted American, grilled onions and the house version of Russian dressing (as well as pickles, which I deleted). The burgers had a nice, smashed crust while remaining juicy, the cheese was properly melted, and the grilled onions had a terrific caramelized sweetness, while the house sauce was very well-balanced: ketchupy and creamy without being too mayonnaise-heavy. A very good smasher. My wife ordered the Big Texan Burger because she wanted cheddar and frizzled onions and BBQ sauce, though she deleted the bacon and pork belly that are normally included. This, too, was a very good burger: cooked to a proper and pleasing medium-rare and well-seasoned, with a good, fresh flavor to the beef. The onion rings were less successful, which are of the beer batter type, but seemed to be a commercial, frozen product. The coating was browned but not crisp, and the flavor was relatively nondescript. We didn't really eat them, and wouldn't order them again. And so, to me, The Tipsy Cow is a bit of a mixed bag: reasonably priced decent food and reasonably priced, generously-poured drinks -- but in a mostly self-serve environment that incrementally loses its appeal in relation to your age and your dining circumstances. Certainly worth a try, but you've gotta be in the right mood.

Okay this place is so good!! We came for lunch and there was no line so we walked right up and ordered. Our food came out quickly and we were able to dine outside. I got a single hot chicken slider and this was a perfect lunch portion for me with some fries. A single slider alone is $6.50 which is an amazing deal for the size and quality. The chicken was more of a tender but I thought the flavor was amazing! The smaller amount of chicken was actually perfect for me and a lot easier to eat as well. The slaw was SO good and fresh and went perfectly with the hot chicken. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the kale in the slaw. Overall, an amazing hot chicken sandwich and definitely in my top 5 of best chicken sandwiches. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in town! read more

On vacation in LA and a few of my friends recommended this place and I was not disappointed. Everyone was really nice and gave recommendations. I eat extremely spicy food so I ordered the hot #2 combo. Everything from the sauce, to the fries, to the chicken was delicious. I like how they give you honey alongside your meal to help with the heat. It's hard to find good halal chicken spots where I'm from so I'm glad to have tried something new. Second time visiting and I have to say so far Flamin Hot Chicken is my favorite hot chicken place! I tried the truck in Northridge last week and the one in Van Nuys today and I was surprised at the consistency. I got the Flamin Fries death row spice and boy did that have a kick, it's a big jump from Flamin spice so I'll probably be getting flamin from now on but the taste was spectacular, my mouths burning just talking about it! :P Overall great service and food Keep up the great work guys!! read more
