I just got back to my crew I left at the hotel to do work while I was gone for most of the day doing a quick trip to Bakersfield. I get back and they all wanna know where we're going for dinner! OK, all I had to eat today was an On N Out in Bakersfield, so I said I heard of this Chinese buffet called Flaming Seafood Buffet. Kinda a weird name if you think about it .... seafood on fire flaming. The place is in Norwalk, just off the 5. Take Rosecrans Ave west and turn right on Pioneer Blvd. It's on the left with plenty of parking. We go in and get seated just fine. Drinks orders taken and off we go to look at all the food. The inside is actually quite large compared to a lot of buffets. Lots of steam tables and the food looked fresh. There were all the usual suspects, hot and sour soup, sweet and sour deep fried meat nuggets, fried rice, egg rolls, ribs, whole prawns with the shell on and a few more authentic looking things I didn't know what they were. All my crew are experienced buffet eaters, so they just grab plates and start piling on the food. One guy even got a piece of pizza and so French fries along with fried chicken wings! I had the ribs which were very good. There was a selection of sushi rolls, but I passed on those. The service was very fast and efficient in the usual Asian kinda way. Price was around $25 per person, inc tax and some tip. I'd come back here again for sure.

On a Sunday at 11am in early June, my family and I came here for lunch $25. There was a big party ahead of us. So we briefly waited and got a table. Inside look clean with tables on one side and food stations on other end, They serve crab legs, shrimps, fried rice, chicken wings, beef and broccoli. Sushi, fruit, galbi, Mongolian bar, ice cream cups, chicken wings, spare pork ribs, orange chicken, and roast duck in the buffet. Roast duck appeared when I got halfway full. Service was kinda slow on cleaning plates and water refills for first 20min during we were there. Nice staff only 1 server in my section hence she was busy with big tables. Disappointing: beef in the broccoli wasn't fully cooked and no flavor, no dim sum items-only seen buns, chicken wings wasn't crispy enough, no beef at Mongolian bar Good-orange chicken, rice, watermelon pieces, ice cream cups

This buffet had a nice chandelier set-up with labeled areas of where to get certain foods, such as the sushi bar, the grill/bbq area, and the desserts. Service was prompt and able to seat our party quickly. Pretty fast at providing the drinks and clearing our dirty dishes from our table, as well. The food itself is like any other buffet with a standard lunch variety. I'm glad they had crabs and shrimps plus the Mongolian noodles, which is what I ended up liking the most. In the beginning, there was not as much sushi variety but more started to come after 30 minutes. The dim sum were also so cute-- loved the designs on them. Out of the 4 dim sums, I liked the green colored one the most with coconut shavings on the outside and a sago-like filling on the inside. For $17.99 lunch price, I can't complain much. If I were to come back, I might come back for weekend lunch to see if there's a different variety of foods offered.

First of all it's $17 for entrance at the buffet at lunchtime, I knew the food was going to be questionable but I didn't mind it since I knew what I was getting myself into, my gf on the other hand hated it. Service was not great, unfriendly staff and I don't think they even spoke to me once after I was seated even after getting the check. The place is pretty big with many options which I liked, and they had a sushi station, the place is not the prettiest but I'm going to a cheap buffet I don't care about anything except stuffing my face.

fruit and salad next to oysters

not gonna lie, the food wasn't bad. it's the REGULAR food you'd usually find at any buffet, cooked correctly, how it should taste. for the price, it's decent. also there weren't a lot of good dessert options, if that's also what you look for. Though i did notice they go against safe food handling with certain items, since i work in the industry, I ALWAYS AVOID IT. also felt a little unwelcome there, staff came off a little rude. which ruined the mood because it was my birthday. we weren't greeted at the door, the woman just pointed with a straight face and walked to a table. thats okay because i considered maybe a language barrier, which i understand but i dont want to assume. other than that, its spacious. didn't really notice it being too dirty, other than the restroom.

This buffet is so delicious! Love the food selection and they even had cute rabbit buns! The staff were awesome and very attentive. Overall great vibes and great food!

Flaming Buffet in Norwalk really is the MVP of all Flaming Buffets we've tried. Yes, it was packed (Saturday night in December chaos), and yes, we waited about 20 minutes, but honestly, worth it!!! The variety was impressive!!! Everything tasted fresh and hot, not sad and sitting there buffet vibes. The beef selection was stacked: beef back ribs, short ribs (at the grill), roast beef..... a carnivore's dream!!!! The short ribs were a bit chewy (could've used a little Asian pear or kiwi bromelain magic), but the chicken wings were an absolute smoke show!! Massive, crispy, and dangerous!!! Lots of seafood for the ocean lovers. Head's up: They automatically add 10% gratuity for parties of 8 or more!!! Our whole crew left happy...especially the sushi lovers and the grill station fans. Shoutout to my husband, who treated the cup ice cream station like a Pokémon collection and caught all six flavors!! Service was on point too: friendly attentive staff, nonstop plate clearing, drinks always topped off. Overall, this place is a ridiculous bang for your buck. Perfect for big groups, big appetites, and people who believe buffets should not mess around!!!

January 2026 -I'm not sure I want to leave a review but this place is the bomb. It takes over an hour to drive to get to this amazing place and it's so worth it. Why ambivalent leave a review because this place may get too crowded in the future and we're not gonna wait another hour in line on top of hour plus commute. I'm not leaving pictures of the steamed Rock-crabs,. Crawfish or clams I had. You also won't see pictures of the fried calamari, Blue crab or Sole fish. I did not leave pictures on purpose Yes, it's crowded they placed our party of 20 packed in a table like a bunch of sardines but we didn't care cause the seafood was totally worth it. Service could be better but they are understaffed. But who cares as long as the food is awesome.

I look for the mango jelly but don't see it at the dessert station. Sad. What's surprising is seeing soft shell crabs being served during a weekday lunch. I think there are 4 different varieties of hot wings here. More than at any other buffets I've been to. Sushi station actually looks really good but I have no space left in my tummy for more food. Service is friendly and quick.

Wow! Another good buffet. The options were great for $22.99 per adult. All day weekend price!! Stone crabs only avail on weekends. Weekdays lunch price $16.99 only. They had the sushi bar, salad bar, dessert & fruits sections, dim sum section, teppanyaki, and the hot foods. They have seafoods like crawfish, shrimps, fish, clams, green mussels w/cheese, oysters, and crabs. The best seafoods were the stone crabs and the deep fried baby crabs. If you're lucky, there will be some good size stone claws. Very tasty. Missing hot butter tho. The only thing they need were the crab legs. It would be the best buffet in town lol I didn't try the sushi. It didnt look that fresh, imo. However, keep in mind that it's a buffet that cost only $22.99 dinner/weekend price. We went on a Sunday at around 515pm. It wasn't busy. Service was ok Drinks not included in price Senior discounts avail Will return

I've visited other local ayce Asian buffets and will say by far this is one of the best ones. Plenty of choices for seafood, sushi, and more considering the affordable price point ($23.99 for the weekend). Loved how the ice cream also were in individual containers and not the ones where you scoop it out yourself like at other buffets-- much more sanitary. Service was efficient and restaurant clean overall. Definitely will be back, perhaps on a weekday as the lunch price is even cheaper!

It was me and mom day. I try to take my mom to try new Chinese buffets. I found this place through Yelp. Before we entered the restaurant we encountered some racism. Some guy spewing racism and hate towards us because we are Asian. Who would have thought this would happen in Norwalk? Anyways, back to the review of this place. It's a decent place. Mom really enjoyed everything. The place was clean. Service was good. Food options were great, even for a week day. What I enjoyed: Fried flounder with white rice Salted duck egg bao Green beans Potatoes Soft shell crab with salt and pepper Sweet potato A green dim sum bao with coconut on the outside and some sort of cream on the inside Cream cheese wontons with sweet and sour sauce Mango jello Cherry jello Eggplant Pan fried octopus Shrimp

They've been there before, and it was my first time I liked the ambiance and appreciated the friendly and attentive staff. We aimed for mostly the seafood, fresh poke/sushi, and hot Chinese dishes. They were delicious. I saw the grilled satay, short ribs, and mackerel, but I didn't try because they looked dry sitting on the hot tray for a while maybe those need to be made to order. The large beef rib was tender and delicious and tasted similar to nilaga or lauya (Filipino style beef soup). I was surprised to see character baon there--so cute that I had to take a pic! How much they charge is worth all that. The staff does bring out their tambourines and sing happy birthday when requested. They'll also store cake in the fridge for you. Not sure if they've improved or what, but it was really tasty by buffet standards and I instantly became a fan of Dimassi's despite my 2 star review from 3 years ago. Since then I've been coming here every other week lol I'm such a huge fan of the large selection of salads and vegetables they have to choose from. I love the parsley salad, cabbage, roasted vegetables, the vegetable soup, and all the onions/tomatoes they have in some of the dishes on the buffet line. I LOVE rice (wow what a surprise) but here? It's such an afterthought for me. I will gladly eat all the roasted chicken, lamb shank, kofta, etc. with all the salads and veggies. It's the healthiest buffet I've ever been to. Sure, I might finish with a few bites of rice or a falafel or two, but I always leave here feeling healthy which is crazy to say after eating a buffet. No one is getting fat off vegetables and braised lamb and chicken. Well, maybe if you eat enough of the fried chicken (which is great by the way). I'm really bummed the Anaheim Hills location closed down, but I have no problems driving over here instead! I think after my next visit I'll finally get $15 off lmao. I told you I come here way too much.

The most surprising item was definitely the crab legs. I don't know how they are able to include this in the menu. The crab legs were sweet and flavorful and the meat separated from the shell reasonably well. There were also fruits like papaya and blueberries which is a rare sight indeed. They also had dim sum like chicken feet! The sushi had rice that was well seasoned and not hard. The fish tasted fresh. My favorite dish was the steamed white fish with green onion and ginger. The clams were also fresh, but slightly sandy. The one thing I would never try again, though, is their tomato shrimp soup (it was like a sweet tomyum that was just weird) and their "cheesecake" that was a dried out sponge cake with a dried layer of cream cheese frosting. So driving from Chino hills to Long Beach I was looking for a place to eat and I was planning on eating at the Bellflower Norms. I was looking for the Bellflower Norms restaurant when I saw the Golden Corral sign on the 91 freeway. I decided to go to Golden Corral because GC has all the menu items that Norms has for s Senior Early Bird, which ends at 4:00 and I got there about 3:20 and at 4:00 Golden Corral brings the dinner menu out, like the steaks. So I ended up eating at Golden Corral. My server, Marco. has been working for Golden Corral for 8 years. He says he's 35 and this is only his second job in his whole life. I said wow you don't look for other jobs? Golden Corral must treat you very well for you to stay here so long. He says he's not the kind to look elsewhere that he does his best at each job and that's what matters. He's working hard now as I speak this review. They got a good employee in him. The price for senior early bird was expensive $17.99. The last senior early bird I ate was $12.99 and that was only last year but it was in Arizona. The food is the same as the other locations. I thought the Sirloin was kind of tough in that every piece I cut off and chewed I had to spit out the gristle No piece today was tender enough to swallow The clam chowder is always good it's very thick. Some of the bins look kind of dried up like the white fish the edges are all dried up but that's what you get at a buffet. My drink, which is included in the senior early bird, tasted delicious because I mixed horchata with root beer half and half it was like a root beer float. All in all I would rate this Golden Corral 3.5 stars.

As a remembrance of my dad's birthday, my wife, her mom, and I went to one of his favorite chain…read morerestaurants to eat dinner (after my wife and I had just gotten back from visiting our daughter). I intentionally chose a Golden Corral that we hadn't been before (we usually go to the closer one in Bellflower), and found that this Downey location didn't have the best aesthetics or service, but the food was on point. Gold Corral was already pretty busy when we got there before 5 pm. Dinner pricing was in play, costing $22.79 per person plus $4.39 for a soft drink. One stands in line to enter, grabbing your drinks from the self-serve soda fountain, and then paying the cashier. There was no option to add a tip, which was a bit surprising (since other food places that have far less service commonly add the option to their checkout process). Large sections of the restaurant were on reserve, but there were still plenty of places to sit, so was still on find-your-own table status. Once we found one, said hi to our server and went up. Two of the best things on the buffet were the golden fried shrimp (jumbo in size, nicely deep fried in a good oil) which were delicious dipped in their cocktail sauce (though each item were at opposite ends of the buffet) AND their freshly grilled sirloin steak. Once you get the grillers attention, he will fork over half of one, with the right level of doneness according to your request. Even though I was disappointed in learning that the steaks are now delivered frozen, they didn't taste that way. It was very good, as good a steak as I've had at any other fast casual restaurant, and certainly the best at a AYCE place. I tried their well known pot roast as well, and it was the same as before: really tender, going well with the accompanying gravy. I also tried their cornmeal fried catfish: quite good and not overly greasy. Good deep frying seems to be common here. Did notice they had fried chicken and grilled chicken available. Each table had paper napkin dispenser, and condiments like ketchup, steak sauce, and hot sauce. Other things I noticed were the self serve 3 flavor ICEE machine, self serve soft serve ice cream, and chocolate dipped fruits and snacks. What it did not have were two things that I've seen before at other Golden Corrals: a cotton candy machine and a self serve chocolate fountain. They did seem understaffed, as our dirty plates kept piling up and our drinks didn't get refilled. I was tempted to go to the nearby beverage station to just refill it ourselves, but the clear signage stating 'Employees Only' deterred me. My wife did get a server's attention, and he did clear our plates and refill our drinks...thus got a chance to use my 2 dollar bills before we left. We ended up only staying for 40 minutes, which would have disappointed my dad (who made it a rule to stay at least 1 hour at any AYCE place). But we ate well (my mother in law really loved the fried shrimp), which is what really mattered.
