I attended an event at Komi and the experience was alright! There were two events happening at the same time and they put both of us in the same room. I personally felt like it was too many people in one space as the chairs and tables were really tight together. I wish they gave us more space or spread the chairs out more. Service was good! The servers were nice and attentive. The food was okay! I liked their wide selection of ice cream flavors and sushi. Nothing was particularly a standout. I believe we have been to this Buffet twice, coming from a Knotts Berry Farm Theme park with my Son and his Friends. We always asked the kiddos where they wanted to eat, always with different suggestions, and mostly ended up with a Buffet, something where they all agreed to eat, a buffet where they could pick their own food and what they liked and see what familiar food they wanted to eat, and the amount of food they wanted on their plate. This Buffet is just alright, no Wow Factor here, it's not bad at all, it's just average taste, and as I said it's just okay. This place is always clean, twice we've been no stacks of used plates in our table, the servers always make sure the table is free of used plates. Parking is plentiful around. read more

01/2026 We try to use the weekends to explore new places, and the Komi Buffet was a 5-star place. The location is a renovated Hometown Buffet that serves Asian and American cuisines. In the center of the Buffet are the cold items (Ice Cream, Sushi, Salad, Cold Sea Food Items). The food selection around the cold foods are consist of Meat Dishes (Grilled Chicken, Beef Brocoli, Coconut Shrimp, etc). They also have a Tepayaki Bar where the chef cooks the items after you make your selection. Honestly, the Tepayaki bar steals the show, the meats are marinated to where the quality falls off the bone, and don't forget to tip. The seating area is big enough for small and large parties. The drinks they have are Pepsi Products. The location is very clean and well managed, the staff are constantly walking the floor checking with the guests as well as making sure the food is constantly rotating. read more

I get it the place is cheap, especially for lunch price only $15. Our bill was $30 total so the food definitely reflected that price tag. They have senior discount so a lot of older folks are there, we went at lunch it was very packed. Food is pretty average, sushi packed way too much rice compared to the fish piece, other selection was pretty limited, mostly fillers not that much varieth in protein choices. Only the grill station was somewhat decent. Probs wouldn't come back again, not worth it for the higher price during weekend or dinner. It's OKAY, I went here a couple of times with my boss or family. This location holds a lunch senior special where it's $1~2 cheaper than of a regular lunch goer, so I'd say this is a strong suggestion for groups of elderly friends. The food is nothing out of the ordinary, it's not 'bad' but there wasn't anything there that made me go "Wow, I really wanna come back for more of (some food I ate)". The food variety (I only went here during lunch hour) is decent, felt more like a checklist of what an asian buffet should have down to their generic flavors (orange chicken will taste like orange chicken). Their dry dessert options are negligible while their ice cream options are quite good; I always go for their green tea, pistachio and butter pecan flavors, the serving spoons are small so you can grab multiple of the same or different flavors. The staff is simple and quick; they sit you down, always checking and taking empty plates off your table, and deliver the check when you are near finishing. The buffet area is spacious so no need to worry about bumping shoulders. So yeah, if you happen to be nearby the area and don't quite know what you want for lunch, I'd say this is a decent spot to check out. read more

The service here was phenomenal! At a buffet, I did not expect good service, but this place always kept my drink full, took dishes away whenever I left for more. I would give these guys a 4 1/2 star. It's much better than other buffets. I rate the food higher than most buffets. What was good: The shrimp was cooked perfectly along with the coconut shrimp. I like fake crab and their crab salad was delicious. The cooked oysters were done nicely, the round squid pieces had a perfect texture and cooked well. Beef broccoli was delicious. Muscles were a solid B, the chicken skewers were delicious, egg roll a B (not A). The ice cream tasted homemade and was very good, I tried the cookies and cream (very good), the pistachio (delicious with real pistachio), and the strawberry (delicious with real strawberries). The price was VERY affordable at $18.99 for the dinner price. Most of the food was done really well, especially when you consider it a buffet. What was not good: I did not like any of the sushi, I think the rice they used was sub-par and I didn't really enjoy the fish they used. One of the better seafood buffets I've had in a long time. Still confused how this place isn't more popular than their competitors near by, again I won't use names but one of them is located next to a movie theatre down the road. Love this place excellent service, my brother and me ate lunch here today and we didn't even once have to ask a waiter for anything they are on top of everything and good fresh hot food constantly coming out to the floor. In 2026, finding a Chinese buffet in Orange County for $15 (lunch price on a Saturday/Valentine's Day weekend) is a great deal. Most places are charging $20 to $30 now, so this is one of the best values I've found. Food: I've been eating at Chinese buffets for over 20 years, and I know that no place is perfect. My strategy is to eat what they are good at and grab it while it's fresh and hot. We really enjoyed the mixed vegetables, chicken wings, and the hot and sour soup (which had 3 different kinds of mushrooms). The marinated pork chop at the teppanyaki station was also very good. I skipped the teppanyaki beef and the sushi because I know other specialized places do those better, but for $15, the variety here is more than enough to get full. Service: The service was fair. It was a very busy day, but the staff did a good job of clearing our plates quickly once we were finished. The workers were busy moving back and forth so they weren't smiling all the time, but they weren't rude either. I totally understand that when a place is this crowded. Ambiance: The restaurant is a decent size and looks clean. The carpet looks like it was replaced recently. My only small complaint is that the table layout feels a bit crowded. I read a review about this Komi Buffet and the dude confirmed he had been to Paradise buffet and this was superior, I insisted to go there my husband was not happy about it as it was very far w traffic it took 45 minutes from Huntington beach. We saw the parking lot full, I said to myself wow, it must be good as it turned out there was a Korean BBQ AYCE next door. Komi buffet was pretty much empty, it was so cheap we were worried as we get what we paid for but well, we were there already. The pictures of the crab looked much better than in real life, the crabs were small making it hard to crack and eat it, the salt and pepper taste was not bad though, I don't care for crawfish so I did not even try, the shrimp was OK too not exceptional, the beef broccoli was oily and the Korean ribs were bone dry and very chewy I could not eat it. I like the salt pepper shrimp, the crab mixture in a shell and the mussels, other than that it was really low quality, one must be college kids to enjoy this buffet. I tried the Mongolian BBQ, the noodles were a joke, coarse and orange color? what was that all about? it was totally inedible. The ice cream was fine, at least it was real ice cream not soft serve. I only gave a 3 stars bc the service was good and the low price, the food alone is only 2 stars. got recommended this place. i see why it's so affordable compared to others. i came in on a tuesday around 7pm. there wasn't any music playing, it was just silence which is definitely different from most buffets i go to. the waitress was dismissive. the food wasn't great. not a lot of food options either. the food definitely wasn't fresh as most were dry like it's been sitting there for a long time. im pretty sure i got food poisoning from whatever i ate. i wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Came here for a Sat lunch party of 50 people from 5 months babies to 95 year old senior citizens. Cannot beat the private room for that crowd of last minute reservations and the variety of food and services for everyone. Plenty of parking, restrooms are clean, hostesses and servers are responsive in bringing water, clean plates and tables. And the price is unbeatable. Avoid the sushi counter except the edamame, go for the Mongolian grill, choose only the wet marinaded meat in one plate, the other plate only put vegetables (and optionally noodle ), add an egg if you prefer. Don't choose the frozen sliced meat. The chef will cook them separately and hand them to you. Patiently wait there for your food Chicken wings, roasted sweet potatoes, baked scallops are good. Fried rice, lo-mein, noddles, salad, soup and bao as you please. Fruit section is not bad. Leave room for 12 flavor icecream (not ) and chocolate fountain marshmallow, wish they have strawberries . They do have cake too. Be patient and slowly sample very small portions so don't waste food and leave bad reviews. Easy to stuff in, hard to rid them off. The short hair woman server (looks like a boy) was picking a fight with the elderly customer. He had handed her his plate and instead of saying thank you, she yelled at him. One other time we witnessed her mistreated a deaf customer by ignoring him rather than provide him with the drink he ordered. He got so frustrated that he left. Such a good restaurant like Komi buffet where my parents come in a weekly basis should not have a server like this who doesn't want to provide excellent service. I'd say please fire her or educate her or leave her in the back so customers don't have to encounter her especially when she does not want to be there. We've been regulars at Komi Buffet over the years and have recommended it to friends and family in the past. Unfortunately, our recent visit on Friday evening for our son's birthday was disappointing. There were only a few tables occupied when we arrived. As we walked through the food stations, we could already tell the quality had gone down. The Korean BBQ beef was tough and tasted like it had been frozen for a long time. The grill station had no one working it, and the meat had clearly been sitting out. The sushi section used to be my favorite. I always looked forward to the salmon and sashimi cuts. This time, the fish looked thin, pale, and not fresh. I only had a couple of California rolls. Even my daughter, who normally eats a dozen of them, only had three. The worst part my son had to spend a long time in the bathroom afterward, and I didn't feel great myself later that night. I had mucus buildup, which was unusual. We both felt off after eating. The servers were great friendly and quick to clear plates but unfortunately, we won't be coming back. The food quality has dropped too much and didn't feel safe to eat. read more

It's a decent buffet and a decent price for the selections they offer. I hit up the sushi mostly. Sometimes Mongolian grill for noodles and veg stir fry. I eat pescatarian and they have a wide selection of hot dishes, veg toppings for salad, fruit and desserts and the many ice cream flavors to choose from and the chocolate fountain. Never had a bad experience here. Restrooms are always spotless. I visit around 1pm-3pm usually. Dinner service offers wider protein options. I'm not sure why this place received so many bad reviews. I came here to eat lunch for the first time and was amazed by the great price and food! My absolute favorite is the bbq isle. The pork is sooooooo good!! They even have shrimp that was fresh as well. You pick what you want and there is a person there that will cook it for you. Of course like a typical buffet they have all sort of food and desert! They have 8 different flavor of ice cream to pick from and all were so delicious!!
