I was craving some seafood so my family came to Shabuya for dinner around 5pm. It was Monday so it was not busy. This is one of my family's favorite AYCE restaurants. We love it because they have both meat and seafood along with fresh veggies and many other ingredients. It's been a few months since we last came and I liked how they changed the clams to bigger size. I can actually taste the clam meat now. ^^ They also changed the kid pricing. Before it was based on kid's age but now it's by height. I believe if your kid is taller than 51" then they will be charged as an adult now. Elliot and Sophia gave us great service today. Surprisingly spacious inside, and it's actually not that noisy compared to a lot of other hot pot places! Service was really good. We barely had to get anyone's attention because the staff were constantly checking around to make sure we had everything we needed--extra meat, broth, refills, etc. Really attentive without feeling like they were hovering. The price is fair for all-you-can-eat, and I like that they have booths for pretty much every party size--1, 2, 3, 4, and even bigger groups of 8. Honestly, with the way the restaurant is designed, I feel like they should do BBQ together with hot pot too! If they could make the atmosphere a little more lively, it would be even better. They also serve alcohol, and you can get beer by the pitcher if that's your thing. Definitely save some room for the ice cream too--it's simple but pretty good. I recommend the ube! This is a regular spot for my family. Food is always amazing. Service even better. Some of the freshest vegetables you'll find at a salad bar, meats are fantastic quality, and broths are the perfect compliment to the meal. My usual is the spicy broth, my wife's go to is the sukiyaki. I highly recommend the number 2 and number 5 meats. What's even better is recently they added some items they haven't had since before the pandemic like their chicken karaage and veggie eggrolls which were both great with the meal. They have plenty of tvs for you to watch a game while enjoying your dinner. It's a great restaurant for a large party and I've always seen them accommodate any size easily. I've been coming to shabuya for about 2-3 years now. Have not been for some time but decided to came back recently. I was quite disappointed as not only did the price go up more but the meats were not quite as good either. Mostly fat. Service was friendly and attentive but the inside is starting to get dated. Must offensive though is the change to the rice they used to give you last, which used to come with Togo paper container which we loved enjoying the porridge the next day for lunch. But in their cost saving wisdom they no longer give you that. You have to eat it there. So probably won't be coming back as not sure it's really worth it anymore. read more

Shabuya wasn't bad, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. The meats didn't impress me, and the hot pot table setup felt awkward. The music was fun, but babies crying and older people burping really killed the vibe. On top of that, the staff cutting the meat just stood around staring, which made things uncomfortable. We immediately noticed the updated menu prices, timing of eating changed to 100 minutes, and children's pricing is now based on height. They removed the table buttons to notify your servers. The meat quality and selection is solid, and the veggies and the sauces are all on point. Service is always good too. If you're a spice lover like me, make sure to ask for the spicy hot sauce to add to your broth as well as your goma sauce. It elevates everything! Another pro tip is to add green onions, minced radish, and minced garlic to your ponzu sauce. So bomb. I like when hot pot places have food you can eat, even just a few things like salad or small appetizers, while the soup heats up. While called a "salad bar," it's really only raw ingredients. This is my second time at this location. Lunch is $25.99 and AYCE. When you arrive there's plenty of parking and hardly ever a wait. Everyone was kind and the service was really great. You never have to ask for more meat because they constantly come and ask if they can bring you more. This location isn't as turned up as fountain valley, it's more traditional and what I loved most is the sides bar. This location had crawfish, crab, sausage, clams, muscles and really any other item you could want in Shabu shabu. The sides bar was kept up and really clean. I got the huoguo broth and it was really yummy! What I liked about this place is that the broth wasn't greasy at all, and you can refill however much you want. Additionally, the bar with all the veggies is great, but I'd especially recommend getting the fish balls. The meat was great quality, and is also unlimited. I have had better for sure. Arriving at 8:30pm and being told you only have 1/2 hour to cook & eat wasn't a very good experience. We knew it was late, but we decided to give it a try anyways. Everyone had the tonkatsu broth, I had the sukiyaki (not recommended) and my husband had the herbal spicy broth (due to gluten allergy). The meats were good especially the beef. My family liked the lamb too. The cold bar of veggies, seafood, noodles and seafood balls were good. The sauce bar also had a good variety of condiments to make your sauces. The steamed rice area had hot rice with instructions to create a rice bowl dish. The ambiance of the restaurant is spacious and hip. The modern decor is inviting. We will have to dine here earlier in the evening to give this place another try. Hopefully the next time we come we can thoroughly enjoy our hot pot. The wait time was minimal as we ate around 2pm for lunch. - 2 Regular AYCE = $32.99 per person SUBTOTAL = $65.98 TAX = $6.43 TOTAL = $72.41 Great price for an AYCE place. You get to select 9 options from the meat menu. We also ordered beers ($5 per beer - I got the mango cart and my boyfriend got the Sapporo; it looks like we were not charged). There is a buffet-style area where you can grab seafood, veggies, noodles and more! Seafood: Octopus, squid, shrimp, mussels, clams, fish balls, fish fillet, imitation crab. This location is so sad compared to the FV location, it's more expensive and lacks so many of my favorites. They didn't have appetizers, chili oil, spicy miso broth, and more. Came by on a Monday night for dinner. We arrived around 5:30PM and there was no wait, but by the time we left the restaurant it was completely full, so coming for an early dinner is probably best if you don't want to wait too long. Each person orders their broth for their pot and you're able to order 3 plates of meat per person at a time. For rice, you do need to ask the server, but for vegetables, other sides, seafood, and sauces are all serve yourself. They keep all of the dishes well stocked, so it was never empty when I wanted to get more food. The meat was pretty good, and I enjoyed being able to get most of the food myself, but I would say the servers don't come around very often, so getting more meat can take a little while. The restaurant is not the most well-ventilated in my opinion. You can definitely feel and smell the cooking food when you enter the restaurant and you'll come out smelling like meat for sure. read more

You can choose from a selection of broth. I chose miso, or sukiyaki is a safe option too. Meat was good. Decent size, thin, tender. We mostly got the ribeye, wagyu chuck, wagyu round, lamb. It's in a stack of 3 when you place the order. We just kept getting those on rotation until we're full. Veggies is self serve. Walk to the bar and place on your plate. Necessary for me to not feel sick from all the meat. Sauce bar is also self serve. I like a little soy and wasabi to dip with the meat. My favorite is the goma (sesame sauce). Ponzu is good too. I didn't care for the garlic or chili sauce but that's why you serve yourself what you want. I also picked up udon and sweet potato glass noodle. Didn't care for seafood, fish cakes, dumpling, kimchi but they're all there at the bar area. My toddler sat on highchair and enjoyed the meat, rice, udon, a little spinach. He loved it. The weather's been cold lately and I've been craving for some tasty shabu shabu. I've driven past this place many times so my parents and I decided to give it a shot. We were seated under an air conditioner vent which wasn't great, however the food... was EXCELLENT. I went with the miso soup base and was mind blown by how the meat cooked so fast! There is also a buffet with vegetables, noodles, seafood and so much more. There are also many other soup choices, I'll have to try them next time. The service is attentive and friendly. The food comes quick, but the button that's supposed to call them doesn't seem to do anything. The building is big and spacious and it needs to be, because Shabuya has a pretty big line, that's for sure. I think Shabuya is the best shabu shabu place I've been to so far! These are filler items, but I'm here for the meat. The meats were thinly sliced and tender. Must get beef belly, it's so good! They have a decent selection of broths, from mild and savory to spicy and flavorful. The sauce bar is ok, other places might have something better. Even when it gets busy, the servers are on top of things, ensuring your pot is always full and your plates are cleared promptly.
